Rugby football star Tony Woodcock was born in Helensville, like Horiwood’s mother was and where most of Horiwood’s cousins still hang out and live [Kia Ora Whanau].

Some info on Tamati is: “Ellison made his New Zealand Maori debut at the 2007 Churchill Cup tournament in England and a year later was named Co-captain of the side for the Pacific Nations Cup.”

“According to Maori ethos, Tama-nui-to-ra, [a mythological expression of God as the Sun], had two wives, Hine-raumati, the Summer maid, and Hine takurua, the Winter maid. The child born to him and Hine-raumati was Tane-rore, who is credited with the origin of the dance [known as haka]. Tane-rore is the trembling of the air as seen on the hot days of summer, and represented by the quivering of the hands in the dance.

More than any aspect of Maori culture, this complex dance is an expression of the passion, vigour and identity of the race. Haka is not merely a past time of the Maori but was also a custom of high social importance in the welcoming and entertainment of visitors. Tribal reputation rose and fell on their ability to perform the haka (Hamana Mahuika)

Haka reflected the concerns and issues of the time, of defiance and protest, of factual occurrences and events at any given time.

Or put succinctly, when a New Zealand, hori, Maori Pacific Islander does the haka of New Zealand… it means they mean business. I love it. The haka defines who I am in Hollywood and the world. Sometimes, when people mistake your meekness for weakness, and try and abuse in any way… the haka is the hot shizzle from New Zealand that brings a sense of fairness, back to the center. It’s hot!

Like Native American Indian actor, Taylor Lautner was picked at age 16 to represent the Twilight Saga at the box office for Hollywood, Tanerau Latimer a footballer from New Zealand was selected at the age of 17 to play international rugby football. Lautner is a native American Indian, Tanerau Latimer is a native Maori (hori) from New Zealand.

Here’s what the official team website of the All Blacks Rugby Football team says of Tanerau: “Tanerau Latimer made his debut for New Zealand Maori in 2006 and the young loose forward has proven his exceptional ability in both forms of the game.”

Footballer  Grady Sizemore who plays for the Cleveland Indians as center fielder, has his heart set on doing a David Beckham’s undies campaign.

Sizemore took these pics on his iphone and sent them to Playboy playmate girlfriend, Britney Binger. Once their relationship was over, she tweeted the pics to the world.

Of course living in Hollywood and being from New Zealand, one cannot judge as this is football star styles 101. Grady just needs to learn to do it better.

Dan Carter of the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby Football Team, could be Grady Sizemore’s hero on the topic of sports branding and sports endorsements. Dan even his his own campaign going on down under, while still playing world class football, while he models his football star pecs off for Kiwi girls in his undies for the Jockeys underwear campaign.

As a result, every New Zealand husband owns at least one pairs of Jockeys undies. Single Kiwi blokes own at least 10 pairs. Maybe Grady can give Dan Carter a call and Dan can life coach him through this crises. Lol!

Richie McCaw the captain of the New Zealand All Blacks football team has been named the footballer of the year.

 The 28-year-old was presented with the award following the All Blacks’ 39-12 victory over France in Marseille. McCaw makes history being the only footballer awarded rugby’s most prestigious individual accolade twice. McCaw won the honor in 2006.

In the most closely contested race since the Award’s inception in 2001, McCaw fought off stiff competition from Ireland’s Jamie Heaslip and Brian O’Driscoll, South Africa’s Fourie du Preez and Francois Steyn, Australia’s Matt Giteau and England’s Tom Croft over some fiercely battled international football matches.

“It is a huge honour. I am extremely proud. I am just happy to be part of a team doing well. I am happy to do my bit, but it is a great honour. I said it before, you can’t do it without a bunch of mates. It has been a trying year at times, but it is great to be part of a winning team,” said McCaw.

True super stars make their success about team effort. What a super star this lad is! Congrats Richie McCaw.

After a recent international match against his native Wales, future King of England, Prince William stopped by the locker room of the New Zealand rugby team whose nickname is the All-Blacks. He didn’t give them much time after match was finished, I guess royalty doesn’t have patience because when he came into the locker room most of the team was still butt-naked.

An All Blacks source said: “The Prince did a bit of a double-take, but actually dealt pretty well with what could have been embarrassing.

“Some of the boys were more awkward. I think they’d have felt more comfortable being dressed more appropriately – or being dressed at all!”

Although this story is a month old, it came alive again when I chatted to my rugby football obsessed family recently.

When I last talked to my sister Sharon who lives in New Zealand on the phone, here in Hollywood– she’d just got back from Japan where her and her hubby  Brotha Lou, had been visiting friends.

Both had an amazing time in Japan. They also had in their possession tickets to the New Zealand All Blacks Vs Australian Wallabies rugby football match at Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. [that's like having tickets to the Super Bowl final in the US! it is sort  of a 'rugby heaven' moment].

Of  course, New Zealand won, 32 to  19. (New Zealand is the best rugby football team  in the world).

According to my sis, their pre-match haka (Maori war dance) was amazing. You could hear a pin drop in Olympic Stadium from the Japanese crowd as they all eagerly leaned forward to see and hear as the New Zealand football team performed the  haka. Go The All Blacks!

Nice to see Japan loving Maori culture from New Zealand. Rock on Tokyo! My sister loved Japanese culture, so the shared interest in each others culture is very mutual.

In particular, Sister sledge loved experiencing the fashion couture on “Crazy Street,” Tokyo, where the fashion conscious make Lady Gaga’s fashion style look tame. Gwen Stefani wrote a song called ‘Harajuku Girls’ in Crazy Streets honor. Japan is more fashion forward than many Western nations. The youth of Japan have great style.

Great taste in rugby football teams too. Thanks Japan for supporting the All Blacks of New Zealand.

Well, sportsman Conrad Smith is renowned to be that guy in the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby Football Team. The All Blacks are the best rugby players in the world. Envied by the UK and the Royal Family of England who are rugby obsessed, the boys in black from New Zealand are always the ones to beat in the world of elite sport.
