These posters, designed by Amy Rodchester, were to advertise the Newcastle Festival of Dance. I’ve always appreciated photography but never really been interested in pursuing it as a medium, but I really, really like these photos. Like, a silly amount of liking. The shapes involved and the  3D honeycomb layout works really well. It allows all the images to be displayed clearly and neatly, which I think is a key concept when making a poster with a purpose. Although the photos are black and white, which could seem drab, the calming pastel colors give a lovely smooth finish,  and even though you don’t see faces to show any emotion, the amount and variation of photos implies movement and  provides so much energy that it creates a happy atmosphere of the festival, and really sells it. Maybe it’s just because I use to dance, and I now miss it a tad, but I find these designs really lovely to look at.
