Welcome to the webblog of Klangundtanz Events.

In the 1980’s electro had its great breakthrough in Europe, but especially in Germany. Since then Germany is known as the country of electronic music. Clubs like the Berghain in Berlin and Harry Klein in Munich are some of the world’s most famous techno clubs and Berghain was even lately voted the best club of the world. Even though they are small, they are innovative clubs for intelligent, high-quality techno music, which is loved by its audience. The love and passion that Germany has developed for electro over the past year, is something they wish to share with the rest of the world.
‘Klangundtanz Events’ is an event agency that has taken the initiative to share ‘Germany’s Greatest Groove’ with the Dutch.
Internationally wanted German DJ’s and producers are brought to Holland in order to give the Dutch the feel that they have so far been missing out on. The nights to come are bound to be a success. Are you ready to share the passion?

From: The Ottawa Citizen

Earlier this week, a new tool on You Tube was provided specifically for media outlets such as newspapers, radio stations and television broadcasting stations to provide them with further information about essentially anything news worthy. The idea is that user generated content, being referred to through this new application as content provided by ‘citizen journalists’ will be filtered and made accessible to media outlets to use for their own – some would argue more qualified – journalistic use.

In just a few days there have been a number of established newspapers, including the Washington Post, as well as some radio stations who have signed up for access to this new application. This ability to connect directly to what they call ‘citizen journalists’ makes conducting interviews a much simpler task – no longer having the need to locate individuals themselves – and possibly even unnecessary in some cases.

But You Tube’s head of news and politics, Steve Grove, explains that this tool is not aimed exclusively for news outlets, boasting that it could be used by politicians to find citizen-created videos supporting them and their campaigns, something which would give them credibly support which they could then broadcast for further benefits.

The way news is reported has changed drastically in recent years, with many people turning to amateur blogs and You Tube videos for their news content, rather than the traditional media outlets such as newspapers and television news broadcasts. This trend in the past has been mainly seen in events of large scale devastation in terms of natural disasters like the recent tsunami in Samoa, and the 9/11 attacks in the United States, when people turned immediately to the internet as a source of information they were not receiving from traditional outlets. They were able to find the names of family members and friends who had been reported either dead, alive, or missing, as well as video footage of the event that was not yet available through traditional channels of media.

But You Tube Direct takes the notion of amateur reporters one step further, with the media outlets turning specifically to user generated content to use as their own. People are no longer struggling to find a way to have their opinions or videos shared with the world, fighting to have their letters to the editor published. Attitudes have shifted in the industry, and media outlets have begun to seek out your average Joe for the amateur content he can provide to fill in the holes of their stories, or provide them with information they otherwise would not have had access to.

Though not all media outlets will turn to this method, with the option out there we are provided with more unbiased, or at least a wider range of information, something not limited to the beliefs and opinions of a small team working within an organization. As mentioned before, amateur content in the news is not a revolutionary concept at this point in time, but with its presence becoming more and more prominent in legitimate sources, and more importantly sought out by the media outlets themselves, shows that the media is becoming more democratized, something which would not have occurred so rapidly had it not been for free and easy access to the internet.

Coconut Creek Fla Oct 25 2009
A man barged into his ex-girlfriend’s Coconut Creek home on Saturday, stabbing her and killing a friend when he tried to protect her, police said.
Paul Gayle, a 28-year-old security guard with a state-issued weapons license, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and armed burglary.
Coconut Creek police said Joy Stewart, 36, ended her relationship with Gayle last week and was spending Friday evening with a friend she recently met: 32-year-old Hasting Clarke.
But shortly after midnight Saturday, Gayle showed up at Stewart’s home on the 4100 block of Northwest 43rd Way.
He was planning to carry out a threat he’d made Thursday, said Detective Angela Hofer, a police spokeswoman.
After barging in, Gayle cornered Stewart in a room and stabbed her several times — but Clarke walked in to save her, Hofer said. Stewart seized the opportunity, grabbing a cordless home phone and driving off in her car while calling 911. Seconds later, she flagged down Officer Alejandro Escobar, who found her wounded and frantic.
He and three other officers rushed to her house and arrested Gayle, who was trying to get back into his car, police said.
They also found Clarke, who was killed during the fight.

I’m not sure how I feel about keeping someone out of the NFL. But if we are going to keep someone out I’m glad it’s Limbaugh. The thing is I don’t think anyone likes the idea of keeping someone out that can clearly pay his way. But because it’s Limbaugh there aren’t many people upset with the owners vote to keep him out. Players we understand it’s based on talent. Ownership should be based on money and what the person brings to the table and I guess the owners think besides the money Limbaugh will bring drama to the table. I think for the most part owners think they should be transparent and not part of the football conversation because they don’t want someone to not like the team because of an owner. They want to get fans based the team and their performance on the field not because the owner is or isn’t a loud mouth. Because of Limbaughs hypocritical attitude I’m glad he’s not going to be a part of the NFL.

Taken from MSNBC

Published September 18th, 2009

An article posted on msnbc highlights the findings of an article published by Pike and Fischer, a publication producing information on communications business intelligence, among other topics. The article suggest that the cable industry which is already seeing a decline in advertising revenue, will fail to generate effective near term growth that providers are hoping for despite the emergence of new technologies.

These technologies are designed to send personalized ads to cable subscribers based on demographic characteristics and household viewing patterns. The idea is for local and national advertisers to create more effective promotional campaigns, and to engage users with television advertising similar to interactive online advertising, where a user’s active clicking leads to additional information and eventually a purchase.

These interactive new advertising apps are approaching launch, and advertising agencies involved with cable subscription are relying on their success to boost ad revenue that dropped 8% in 2008 and is forecasted to drop a further 22% by the end of 2009. The article states that P&f forecasts further to say that cable ad revenue will only hit an annual $5.3 billion within 5 years, well below the $15 billion the industry is hoping for.

An example of a company, Cisco, developing enhanced applications for cable based advertising.

“Pike Fischer chief analyst Tim McElgunn projects that the industry’s annual ad revenue will only hit an annual $5.3 billion within five years, far below the $15 billion the industry hopes to generate by that time…even in an optimistic scenario, we believe it will be at least 2016 before U.S. cable MSOs surpass $10 billion in annual advertising revenues.”

Despite efforts on the behalf of cable companies to bring more interactive advertising to customers, these predictions are grim. It would seem that in the contemporary communications environment, recession aside, cable advertising simply can’t keep up with the effectiveness and growth of online ad content. The approach the ad industry can hardly be called innovative because it’s the same approach experienced in the online environment, and it would seem that the cable industry has reacted with too little creativity too late in the game to salvage the revenues they once enjoyed.

BBC.co.uk: One blog created ‘every second’

The BBC News in this article describes Technorati, an online search engine designed specifically to keep track of all blog activity on the internet. Technorati allows an accurate count of existing blogs, a number which nearly doubles every five months.

Focusing on the positive attributes of blogging, the article describes how they provide instant news coverage, from both professional and amateur reporters. Blogs allow a more interactive way of providing the news, with the audience able to remark on stories, sharing their own opinions with others who are accessing that same information.

There are both pros and cons in terms of sharing news content over public blogs. While various perspectives are desirable – particularly when it comes to controversial issues – it can be dangerous to have such a myriad of unverified information being presented as the truth. With so many amateur reporters sharing the fractions of the stories they know, we risk being mistakenly exposed to false information, a result of speculation from the source.

Through television news, it is almost inevitable that a certain amount of bias will be applied to their stories. It is easier to identify bias however, than to identify false information. Though blogs do have qualities that make them useful tools to journalists, they must not be relied on as a sole or entirely reliable source of news

SIERRA VISTA AZ
douglasdispatch.com — Two Douglas men are accused of shoplifting after they were caught with merchandise from four area stores in their car on Friday.
Brandon M. Arevalo, 23, and Joseph G. Arvizu, 19, both of Douglas, allegedly stole a digital camera from Walmart in Sierra Vista around 12:30 p.m. by cutting the cable securing the item and then fled the scene with the camera, according to a Sierra Vista Police report.
Police spokeswoman Officer Tracy Grady said the two men returned to the store around 2 p.m. and were watched by security personnel who saw Arevalo and Arvizu allegedly attempt to steal two flat screen televisions. Their attempt to take the TVs “out through the garden center part of the store was unsuccessful,” Grady said.
The two suspects then went to their car and were driving out of the parking lot when they were stopped by Sierra Vista police, she said.
It was then the “plain sight doctrine,” came into play, the spokeswoman said.
Articles seen with in a person’s sight can be used to help build a case if a crime is suspected and other merchandise is seen, Grady said.
The items from three different stores at the Mall at Sierra Vista that were in the car also were reportedly shoplifted, she said, adding that during the search of the vehicle a concealed weapon was found
Dillard’s, Famous Footwear and Spencer Gifts were the three mall stores involved.
The two have been charged with shoplifting, attempted shoplifting and carrying a concealed firearm, Grady said.
Arevalo and Arvizu were taken to the Cochise County Jail facility in Sierra Vista where on Monday they were each being held on a $4,000 bond.

Yesterday, in my Digital Freedom class, we had the opportunity to listen to professional bloggers speak to the topics of blogs as news, the credibility of blogs, and how blogs function in a professional and personal world.

Our speakers were Matt Stansberry of SearchDataCenter.com and Oregon Fly Fishing Blog and Matt Neznanski of the Corvallis Gazette Times.

Here are some highlights from their co-presentation:

Perks of having a blog even if the company or organization has an online magazine

Easier to integrate photos and videos into a posting

Demonstrates a bond with readers and creates communication with readership

Shows the company is listening to and serving its readers

Greater flexibility and freedom with style of writing

Perks of having a blog instead of print format

Print does not always lead to more reporting; a blog allows you to feed off the comments and suggestions of your readers

Immediacy as compared to print

What is the difference between a blog post and an online article?

Number of sources; for news articles, usually a publication’s director demands the article must have multiple sources

More visual and engaging aspects are usually used on blogs compared to an online news article

Content of a blog can be based off someone else’s writing or a response to their post; news articles usually present facts or are investigative stories

For large companies, such as Matt Stansberry’s employer TechTarget of SearchDataCenter.com, readers do not differentiate between news articles and blog posts.

How do you generate readership?

Comment on other blogs with a link back to yours

Write about someone else’s post

Cast your blog posts on group sites such as OregonLive.com

Find your niche

Allentown PA Feb 7 2009
A 17-year-old Allen High School boy was charged as an adult with trying to stab a man with a pair of scissors Thursday afternoon in front of the school, according to court records.

An Allentown police officer and a school security guard who were monitoring school dismissal saw what was happening and were able to stop David J. Gibbs of 131 S. Hall St. before he could injure the unidentified victim, who Assistant Chief Ron Manescu said vanished with the wave of students leaving the school at 3:06 p.m.

Police said Gibbs took several swipes with the scissors to the victim’s neck. The police officer said the incident happened in front of the school in the 100 block of N. 17th Street when Gibbs ran toward the victim with a pair of 5- to 6-inch scissors protruding between his fingers.

He took four to five punch-like thrusts to the victim’s neck and back with the point of the scissors sticking out from between his fingers, according to court documents.
Gibbs was taken down by the officer and security guard before the intended victim was injured. Gibbs admitted stealing the scissors from the school and putting them between his fingers because he ”thought there would a problem outside after school,” police said.

Gibbs was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possessing an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon on school property and simple assault.

He was arraigned before District Judge Patricia Engler and sent to Lehigh County Prison under $150,000 bail, police said.

It has been reported that Jack Kemp has cancer. His office released the following statement: “

It has been reported that Jack Kemp has cancer.

His office released the following statement:

“Mr. Kemp has been undergoing tests to determine the origin of the disease and the options for continued treatment. He will continue to serve as Chairman of Kemp Partners and plans to remain involved in his business, charitable and politically related activities. Mr. Kemp and his family are grateful for the thoughts and prayers of friends and appreciate respect for their privacy at this time”.

The disturbing news hits POLITICS 24/7 hard. For me Jack Kemp, has been a shining example of the type of leadership we expect, want and need in government and the news causes reason for me to pause.

As a young man Jack F. Kemp spent 13 years in professional football, playing quarterback for the San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills. He led the Buffalo Bills to the American Football League championships in 1964 and 1965 when he was named the league’s most valuable player. He also co-founded the AFL Players Association and was elected it’s president for 5 consecutive terms.

After a period working for the Reagan gubernatorial campaign in California during 1966 and as special assistant to Reagan when he was Governor, Kemp in 1969 worked for the chairman of the National Republican Committee. In 1970 Kemp was elected to Congress where he represented the people of Buffalo, New York in the state’s 38th district and served their until 1989.

Barely in my teens, my political interests were inspired by Ronald Reagan. They grew each day for the eight years that he was President but during the mid 80’s I also came to appreciate a Congressman from my home state of New York. My own Congressman was Scmuck Schumer and not exactly a heroic political leader. But Jack Kemp was and although Kemp was from Buffalo and I was from Brooklyn, the distance did not takeaway any sense of the Congressman’s impact on me.

Many casual voters outside of Buffalo may not have heard of him at the time but those involved in the issues shaping America sure did. Especially those who considered themselves “movement conservatives“. They considered Jack Kemp a leading figure.

A movement conservative is one who supports all or nearly all conservative principles with a coherent philosophy, and who advances broad conservative goals both individually and through teamwork. At the time, I did not know it, but I was one and Jack Kemp was one of the movements leaders.

Kemp’s credentials increased in In Congress where he became increasingly interested in economic ideas and was a keen supporter of supply-side economics and especially of large cuts in direct taxes, which he argued, would pay for themselves. Kemp was also a strong and vocal advocate of deregulation and enterprise zones. In 1978, together with senator Roth of Delaware, Kemp sponsored a 30 percent across the board tax cut which was in large part enacted in the 1981 Reagan budget. It is said that he sold Reaganomics to Reagan. Kemp’s vigorous promotion of supply-side economics made him a well known, if not controversial, politician and earned him a popular following among the Republican rank and file.

In addition to being a fiscal conservative Kemp has also been conservative on cultural and foreign affair issues. In one debate with Mario Cuomo, Kemp said of himself, “I am not a hawk but actually a heavily armed dove“.

Over time, I came to appreciate Jack Kemp more and more. I followed his voting record and read the speeches he offered on the floor of the house in the congressional record. His words were always inspiring to me. Although those speeches were often intermingled with words that I needed to lookup in the dictionary, once I did, they made sense and they were supported by all that freedom in a free nation meant.

On top of that, his voting record always matched his rhetoric. Jack Kemp meant what he said and said what he meant. With jack Kemp it was not rhetoric, it was reality.

Later, while working on Kemp’s campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, I learned that I was not alone in sometimes having to look up the meaning of something Kemp said. While gathering the mornings news clippings for the campaign’s press secretary, I stumbled upon a piece in a local paper that wrote “although very passionate about economic policy, Congressman Kemp often finds himself speaking to an audience of reporters and voters alike, who have a glazed look in their eyes that is brought about by his discussion of intricate policies and use of technical terms that Kemp uses with the familiarity that we have with the alphabet“.

After reading that I was actually relieved to know that I wasn’t quite as ignorant as most. I was just as ignorant as everyone else. As the Reagan years were winding down I geared up to take the Reagan revolution to the next level and I prepared to make sure that Jack Kemp became our next President. The man to carry the torch into the future. I even developed a report which proved that Jack kemp would be the Republican presidential nominee and that Jean Kirkpatrick would be tapped as his running mate.

I was also a fan of Ambassador Kirkpatrick and the relatively close ties that she and Kemp had at the time, seemed to me, to make them a perfect and likely ticket.

As the 1988 campaign began, I found myself traveling to campaign for Jack Kemp in New Hampshire and eventually became a low level field director. I will never forget sitting on campaign busses traveling to every Notch from Dixville to Zealand and relaying between the state’s North White Mountains and Great North Woods to its southern sectionss of Portsmouth and Seabrook in the Seacoast region and Nashua, Concord and Manchester in between. I was often honored beyond belief to sit next Jack Kemp on the campaign bus and have the opportunity to brief the would-be-President on events at our next stops and update him on how the door-to-door events at previous stops went.

Although Kemp did win in Dixville Notch, when all of New Hampshire’s votes were counted, Kemp came in third behind then Vice President George H.W. Bush and Kansas Senator Bob Dole, but ahead of evangelist Pat Robertson, Reagan’s former chief of Staff, General Alexander Haig and Delaware’s former Congressman and Governor Pete DuPont, respectively.

Suffice it to say, I was devastated.

In 1989 President George H. W. Bush appointed Kemp to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development when he formed his administration. In this role Kemp was perceived by many as a maverick rather than a collegial member of the administration. Yet he successfully implemented many policies and programs which won over friends and foes alike. One of Kemp’s most effective creations was the introduction of urban enterprise zones.

With his maverick image in place, in 1996 the Republican nominee for President, Bob Dole picked Kemp to be his Vice Presidential running mate. The selection was something of a surprise, not least because Kemp and Dole had policy disagreements in the past and had been rivals in 1988. Dole had generally been skeptical of massive tax cuts preferring to emphasize deficit reduction but the electoral dynamics of 1996 converted Dole to the merits of tax cuts. In this context Kemp was an ideal vice presidential choice. He symbolized vigorous tax cuts and was able to generate enthusiasm among Republican activists. Kemp was well known nationally because of his football career and visionary economic and defense policies; and it was hoped that Kemp’s energetic style and manner would balance Dole’s age.

Maybe it did or maybe didn’t but either way Americans wanted a second term of Clinton and Gore and whether they ended up liking it or not, they got it.

Just as was the case in the 1988 primaries, I was disappointed but just like before, I remained a fan of Jack Kemp.

I feel that there are few people who have actually been involved in politics on par with Kemp. Sincere, principled, hard working, innovative, persistent, consistent and scandal free, Kemp and his leadership has influenced our nation much more than your average politician and he helped take what was once a fringe wing of American political thinking and turned it into mainstream policy.

All of his leadership and accomplishments led me to pick up the moniker ‘Kempite”. On the internet, one must often come up with a user I.D. and since all of my online activity involves politics, I felt there was no name better to choose from other than Kemp’s.

This SathyaSaiBaba WordPress Blog is also advertised on those websites and an objective comparison between blog stats reveals that this SathyaSaiBaba WordPress Blog consistently outranks critic’s blogs.

It is important to point out that these websites have different variables and different reset times, which accounts for the differences in numbers. Since visitor numbers change every day, so do the blog statistics. Nevertheless, on each of these websites, this SathyaSaiBaba WordPress Blog consistently & significantly outranks critic’s blogs even though they continually attempt to fool Sai Devotees by naming their articles with deceptive Pro-Sai titles.

This objective and verifiable information proves that despite critic’s pervasive, aggressive and unremitting day-after-day smear campaigns against Sathya Sai Baba, the general public cares very little for their: 1) Obsessive nitpicking; 2) Foaming-at-the-mouth rhetoric; 3) Suffocating negativity and 4) Crybaby whining that has continued unabated for the past 8-10 years.

While Blogs get a bum wrap from the ignorati as being host to useless, naval gazing monologues, it actually takes a lot to write an effective blog post.

The world’s top rated CEOs rank The Blog as the number one most important communication tool for industry influence and customer relations. They ranked a business website sixth out of the seven listed options. For high powered business, blogs come first. Read more about blogging at To Blog or Nor To Blog a great article on the risks of risking your voice publicly.

Here are a few ways blogs are being used effectively.

Influence:

Mark Cuban is on several lists as a top rated blogging CEO. See if you find value in his posts at Blog Maverick: The Mark Cuban Blog

Here is one I love, Matt Blumberg’s blog, Only Once: a first-time CEO writes about entrepreneurship and email – His posts are designed to contribute relevant information and be useful. Lot’s of good executive level coaching…

Here is GM’s Corporate Blog, Fastlane Definitely selling it on this blog.

Richard Edelman’s Blog, We’ll just use the quote from Edelman PR’s website about Richard Edelman and his blog 6 A.M.

“Richard Edelman is the president and CEO of the world’s largest independent public relations firm with over 3,100 employees in 54 offices worldwide.

Edelman was most recently named “PR Agency of the Year 2009,” “Large Agency of the Year 2009″ by PRWeek for the third year in a row, “Agency A-List 2008″ by Ad Age and “2007 Global Agency of the Year” by the Holmes Report.

Edelman has been a leader in public relations since it was founded in 1952. Richard’s blog, 6 A.M., which launched in September 2004, receives more than 2,000 visitors a day.”

Edelman PR’s website lists a ‘Speak-Up’ section at the bottom of their home page listing Richard Edelman and 5 other company executive’s ‘Speak-Up’ blogs. Aside from being a wealth of information, influence and knowledge, you are never in doubt about who this executive leadership team is, what they are up to, and what they are committed to. This is a pretty spectacular use of the blog.

The Energy Blog – A blog with relevant topics, well written articles and energy culture references. He makes smart culture, energy and consumption connections in a way that allows you behind the scenes and makes you feel behind the times if you’re not participating in his game. The guy has influence. There is a ’speed of light’ quality to this blog.

Commerce

Quilt Soup Blog – Gives you lots of reasons to come by the store. I used to be a quilter, all you need is a photo of a great project and you’re buying 5lbs of fabric. I like this blog as well because quilters form community quickly and this project journal blog model gives a community an opportunity to see who’s up to what and maybe be inspired to join in or contribute their own project.

New World, Senior Portrait Artist’s Blog – A blog selling photography training via DVD’s, webinars, courses and events.

Community and Culture

The New Art Blogspot

The Orange County Art Blog

All Songs Considered – Part of NPR’s service brand is that includes as much cultural reporting as it does news reporting. Check out their amazing music blog. It’s a historical, cultural and musical reference and resource.

Reference

Bill Gates, Press Blog – A brilliant historical account of Bill Gates. An archive. Sort of makes the guy immortal before he dies. Which is good, because while he is larger than life in this lifetime, I think technology will change so much in the next few hundred years he will become, but a reference. This blog is fascinating. Whoever had to construct it should win an award. This is a lot of work.

Customer Relations

Marriot, On the Move Assures customers of it’s ecofriendly commitment to the Brazilian rain forests, offers deals, promotes destinations and checks in with their CEO.

Nuts About Southwest – Southwest Airlines notifies customers of deals and programs.

Twitter Blog – Reveals launches, features and upcoming new Twitter services. It’s not particularly exciting until you read the blogs, and you get, these kids are ‘effing visionary. Whatever they want to do, just let keep doing it. They really are revolutionizing the power of communication with the design of spectacular new communication models that are open and available to everyone.

News

Talking Points Memo – A known blog model for news coverage.

LOUISVILLE, KY Aug 5 2009 (WAVE) – A physical education teacher and girls basketball coach at Butler High School has been fired for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student. He’s also accused of accepting money from students so they could skip physical activities or have their grades changed.
Coach Michael “Eddy” Wilson taught physical education and coached girls basketball at Butler High School for several years with a good record, but recently, JCPS records indicate parents began coming forward with allegations they were hearing from their children about a relationship between Wilson and an unidentified student.
Parents and students registering for classes at Butler Monday were shocked by the allegations. “Teachers, in my perspective, are there to teach me, not to do anything more,” said Tachae Sowell, an incoming freshman at Butler.
“It’s sickening, and it’s scary too,” said Thereasa Sowell, Tachae’s grandmother.
After reviewing the complaints, JCPS spokeswoman Lauren Roberts said school officials conducted an investigation.
“We did, after reviewing records and evidence, confirm that there was indeed an improper relationship with the student,” Roberts said. “I know everyone is asking does that mean there was a sexual relationship – we were not able to verify that. But there was indeed, based on phone records, an inappropriate relationship under way between the two of them.”
And according to cell phone records, the student and Wilson exchanged more than 555 text messages and calls totaling more than 5,000 minutes from December 2008 to April 2009 – and many of those calls and texts were after midnight.
JCPS’s investigation also revealed that Wilson allegedly took the student on a ski trip to Paoli Peaks in Paoli, Indiana, and that the two reportedly spent a lot of time together after school hours.
The investigation took an unexpected twist, Roberts says, because “students were being charged $3 to not participate in some activities such as running; and then in a couple of cases, there were some students who said their grades were improved based on paying. At least 100 students were able to tell us they paid money or had knowledge of others who tried to get out of class.”
According to the investigation, school officials found over $1,000 in Wilson’s desk. Wilson said he was going to use the money to pay the basketball team’s expenses.
Students registering for Butler told us they’re relieved Wilson won’t be there this year.
“I like gym, and I don’t want a teacher looking at me that way,” Sowell said. “I don’t’ like that type of attention from an adult.”
In a statement given by Wilson to JCPS, he said that he was just being a mentor to that student.
Wilson was hired at Butler in 2003, and had no previous disciplinary problems or complaints before being fired last week.
JCPS has notified Child Protective Services about the issue.

COCOA, Fla. July 18 2009 — Police in Brevard County said they’ve made an arrest in the shooting of a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer.
Police said 23-year-old Christopher Eddy was arrested after he was found hiding in a sand dune on Melbourne Beach.
FWC Officer Van Streety, a 10-year FWC veteran, was patrolling near the intersection of Satellite Boulevard and State Road 520 in Brevard County when he was shot multiple times during a routine stop.
“If I wanted to kill him, I could have,” Eddy said after he was arrested. “I shot him in his vest on purpose.”
Streety was saved by a bulletproof vest — and a special coin he had in his pocket, which helped stop one of the bullets. (See Images Of The Coin)
Police said Eddy was stopped by the officer, a struggle started and, according to reports, Eddy pulled out a gun and shot the officer several times.
Streety was attempting to arrest Eddy for warrants issued from Brevard County for multiple traffic violations, officials said.
Eddy said he shot the officer during the routine traffic stop because he had prior traffic tickets and had a warrant out for his arrest for driving without a license.
“I felt my freedom was being violated,” Eddy said. “It was just unjust they way they treated me. They pulled me over, gave me some traffic tickets and sent me right to the court.”
Investigators said they’ve been putting the pressure on Eddy and apparently he couldn’t take it anymore. They said he made one big mistake leading to his capture on Friday when he tried to steal a car from an armed neighbor.
Investigators said they brought the 46-hour manhunt to an end with “luck, intensity and aggression.”
Police said when Eddy tried to steal the car and he was approached by the armed homeowner, Eddy took off running.
“He kept yelling out to the homeowner, ‘I’m homeless, I’m homeless,’” said Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Major Andrew Walters. “You could see he was bug-bitten, but he did see a firearm.”
Walters said when police found Eddy, the fugitive emerged from the sand dunes and turned himself in.
“He led them to a makeshift camp he had been staying in and showed them the firearm,” Walters said.
On Thursday, Eddy’s girlfriend was arrested and is still being held in a Brevard County jail without bond.
A judge said that any attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer “tears at the fabric of our society” and that he wanted her to stay in jail until she comes before a jury on charges of accessory to attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
Tammi Temple, 37, was arrested Thursday, the same day that what was later identified as a shrapnel bomb was found at her home.
Police found the shrapnel bomb when they served a search warrant at Temple’s home in Melbourne in connection with Wednesday night’s shooting of the FWC law enforcement officer.
Investigators said Temple was in the car with Eddy when he shot the officer. Police said she didn’t come to Streety’s aide but rather helped Eddy get away. Deputies said Floyd Johnson helped Eddy escape, as well. He has been charged with being an accessory after the shooting.
“All I want is a peaceful life,” Eddy said. “I just want some freedom. I guess I’ll never get out of jail for this dumb (expletive).”
