Unfortunately the succesive central governments in Islamabad have adopted the same step motherly treatment in Balochistan and thus estranged the Baloch population to an extent that many of the Baloch youth are now in revolt against the rulers occupying the throne in Islamabad.

BALOCHISTAN, A NASCENT COLONY  FOR THE RULERS OF ISLAMABAD!

Balochistan was never given importance by the adjacent fertile and powerful kingdoms of India, Persia and Afghanistan in the past. They were happy to give this unproductive and nomadic land the status of a buffer zone, separating them with the deserts and gorges from each other. And so, the people of Balochistan maintained their independence under the settled system of tribal traditions under their respective chiefs.

However, one aspect of the tribal system of Balochistan must be kept in mind, that it differs in many forms from the existing tribal systems of the Feudal Punjab, Sind and KPK province ( previously the NWFP ).

Balochistan’s political importance was first realized by the British colonial power when the advancement of the Russians lurked towards the south and the Afghans showed their favorable inclination towards them. The British, realizing the danger from the North, started fortification of Balochistan by building cantonments and extending Railway Lines from Karachi to the borders of Afghanistan. However, the British Empire did not interfere in the internal affairs of its Afghanistan.

All the sardars ( Tribal Chiefs ) remained in tact leading to the conglomeration of many tribal states of their own, till the Pakistan Army, during the reign of Ayub Khan started action to subdue all the states of Afghanistan and ordered to merge with the federation of Pakistan.

This incident was the beginning of the hegemonic attitude of hatred from both the sides. According to Baloch Sardars it was the breach of the agreement they had signed with the Quaid at the time of accession to Pakistan.There could be no other opinion that Islamabad, since then, followed the repressive policy in Balochistan in the name of Federation and solidarity of Pakistan.

It was converted into a ‘nascent’ colony to exploit its resources.

Over the previous few years, particularly during the period of the Army action in Bugti area, when one of the prominent leaders of Balochistan was gunned down in encounter, the volatile situation took another turn that could not be termed less than the start of a revolution or a civil war.

The deteriorating situation of law and order demanded immediate solution to calm it down for the security of the people and the country as a whole. It was the need of the time. But the political atmosphere was created by our leaders, civilian Government, military agencies and the media who twisted the facts during the last three years in such a way as if the Balochis were fighting for independence and cessation from Pakistan. Thus, the majority of the Pakistanis ( 90 percent ) remained in doldrums.

Now there exists some very genuine reasons of their antagonistic attitude towards the federation of Pakistan.

1) Resources of energy and valuable minerals of Balochistan were utilized cheaply by the other provinces while the Balochis were deprived of their own resources.

2) Balochistan was treated just like a colony of other provinces. Most of the vacancies in federal and provincial departments were filled by the non-Balochis.

3) It was open for all to get the domicile of Balochistan, vis-a-vis to apply for entering the highest posts of civil services. There were hundreds of non-Balochi officers in civil, military and judiciary cadres enjoying the benefits with poor qualifications and backgrounds by obtaining the Balochistan domicile through many loopholes created for the purpose.

They knew it well that they could not be selected if applied from their own provinces’ quota. Balochi youth were, thus, deprived of their basic rights since the day Balochistan joined the federation of Pakistan.

4) Since Balochistan comprised of a heterogenous population, it was easy for the political leaders and the rulers of Islamabad to exploit them in the name of their race, language, ethnic identity, religious sect, tribal honors and their internal tribal feuds.

5) The people of Pakistan know a little about the Balochi people, their culture and history. The fate of Balochistan is, therefore, decided by the elites of Islamabad and Lahore in their drawing rooms.

Its just like the situation in East Bengal when the Awami League presented it’s 6-Points demands to settle the differences with the ruling elites of Islamabad, while at the same time, Islamabad was preparing to invade The Eastern wing of Pakistan i.e to hit their own heads to blow out and bleed for ever.

Let’s see how the political objectives of the parties, even in the present times, playing to meet their own end can be suicidal to the very foundation of Pakistan.

a) Balochistan is situated in a highly strategic location where the interests of the great powers are lingering on under the present circumstances. The center of future resources of energy, precious metals and minerals are supposed to be existing in the Central Asian states and Afghanistan. America in the garb of the savior of democracy and the guarantor of the sovereignty of the weaker states, has already established its web of communications by keeping its air-power and cyber-intelligent satellite system to control the region.

b) Balochistan was the main land of the supply route for the American Army during the Russian intervention and was also helpful at the time of invasion on Afghanistan after 9/11. Militarily, the coast of Balochistan is very important for America.

c ) As mentioned, the sea coast leading to the warm waters in the south of Afghanistan is linked to Balochistan. This coast could be the life-line for Central Asia and the adjacent areas as well. The Russians aspired to control this coast throughout history, but failed. Russians, even now, would like to enhance their influence in Balochistan.

Mysterious movements of some great powers on the world’s diplomatic arena, particularly related to this area, can conveniently be observed from the posts in Balochistan.

1) America’s combat units are likely to withdraw next year from Afghanistan. But it’s presence in Afghanistan and Pakistan cannot be ruled out even beyond 2014.

2) India has the blessings of USA in rebuilding projects in Afghanistan and also to share its political role in the Central Asian States.

3) China and Russia are near to develop close relationships, socially and militarily, despite their ideological and some minor boundaries’ differences.

4) Iran and the Arab World are lurking from one side to the other, yet to amass equilibrium in relations with their resources and capabilities to produce latest equipments of warfare. Balochistan is going to be the epicenter for the prosperity and solidarity of not only Pakistan but Iran and the Middle East countries as well.

5) Israel’s possible interference in Iran is another danger hanging on the horizon of this region. Thus, bundles of jigsaws are gathering moths around Balochistan in which the great powers, one or the other way, are involved and hectic diplomatic actions are expected to be taken in near future.

6) Pakistan is supposed to play an important and cautious role in this game to protect its interests. It does not seem that the matter was ever considered seriously by any one in Pakistan.

At the moment KPK, Balochistan and Sind are in chaos, and the law and order situation is out of control. The responsibility of discontentment in KPK, Sind and Balochistan very much lies on the shoulders of Pakistan Army. Perhaps they don’t like it’s immediate solution for the reasons better known to them.

If Zardari’s slow political moves are minutely calculated then, somehow, some positive signs of slow transformations on the diplomatic arena could be seen. Apparently, a bifurcating line between the armed forces and democratic government is visible. Judiciary is also playing its cards very candidly but the real masters of Pakistan, i,e. masses are under the Troika crushing stones.

Also, recently, a new development emerged on the political arena when Akhtar Mengal, one of the prominent leaders of Balochistan came from self exile and presented a 6-points Agenda to the Supreme Court of Pakistan for permanent solution of the existing crisis in Balochistan. His views were clear. The problems of Balochistan are related to its people and their mother land.

Why then the leaders of other provinces are taking decision in respect of the future of Balochistan ? It is for the Baloch people to decide their own future. This case is now pending in the Supreme Court for decision.

Since a good number of youths have taken refuge in mountains with well-equipped modern arms and ammunitions to fight for the liberation of Balochistan.

They seem to be preparing for a civil war. 

The question of Balochistan is not as simple as our leaders and bureaucrats think about. The crisis is now turning into an international subject where diplomatically strong powers are vying at it with greedy eyes. Are we prepared to meet this challenge?

DEMONIZING THE ARMED FORCES: GOOD FOR NOTHING

The army and its agencies have been playing a political role since 1958, if not before that. It has not even been five years since the last military ruler relinquished power. In the country’s 65 years of history, the army has directly ruled for more than 33 years and indirectly, maybe more.

It has been formulating or influencing the making of foreign policies related to certain countries since independence. To expect that the army should now withdraw from the political scene is desirable but not practical. It is rather a wish based on idealism.

To compare our army chief with those of other democratic countries is also unrealistic. Comparing the army with other institutions of the state and arguing that they chose the profession of soldiering and that they are being paid for their job may not be a very rational approach, keeping the nature of their task in view. The mere fact that General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani’s statement kept all media amply focused demonstrates that the army is still considered by all to be a major player in our politics, even if it is undesirable.

When General Kayani took command of the army, about 19 administrative units of Fata and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were completely or partially under the control of Taliban. Now, there are two.

The army is fighting the longest war in its history, in which it has lost about 5,000 soldiers and over 800 have been rendered disabled for life. It is a war not owned by many Pakistanis. No previous chief has commanded an army in such difficult times as General Kayani. No army chief has seen beheadings of his soldiers with their sacrifices not recognised by the nation.

General Kayani shoulders the difficult task to motivate them, keep them committed to their goals and prevent any division in the rank and files of the army. Since 2008, many in this country have been inviting General Kayani to intervene in political affairs and get rid of this government. However, he has refused and also convinced his corps commanders that they should not do so.

He is probably the first chief who has admitted that the army has committed mistakes; all other chiefs have justified army takeovers, citing different reasons. He is trying to change the course and avoid mistakes of the past, and yet no chief during his service was criticised the way General Kayani has been. The army as an institution is being blamed for acts committed by past generals.

The perception that the chief is the sole decision-making authority may not be true in all cases. There are nine corps commanders having their own opinions but the chief faces the brunt of the negative onslaught by the media, also with the responsibility of responding and pacifying those under his command.

Why is the army different from other institutions that are ridiculed by the media? Soldiers do not put their lives at stake only for money; there are additional factors which motivate them to fight, such as pride, honour, ghairat, patriotism, belief in a cause, recognition, comradeship and unit cohesion, etc. High morale matters to them. Unit cohesion is the trust between leaders and the led.

Creating an impression that the army has good junior officers and soldiers but that senior officers have always let them down is undermining this very basic concept. The army traditionally does not support individuals, be it the ex-army chief, which is why General (retd) Pervez Musharraf is not in the country, for which he may not be very pleased with General Kayani.

To blame the institution as a whole for the wrongdoing of some individuals affects the morale of the troops.

The Afghan Taliban captured Kabul in 1996 and Islamists took control of Timbuktu in April 2012. In both cases, their armies had disintegrated. We face serious threat from the Taliban; they want to take over this country through armed jihad. The army is the institution preventing them from fulfilling their evil designs. Do not demoralise the troops by criticising the army as an institution; focus on individual culprits. God forbid, if there is a division in the army, it will lead to anarchy and consequently, no other institution of the state will survive.

After attending the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Kata Raj Mandirs Complex at the pond, local Hindus visited the temples.They worshipped at Lord Shiva’s lingam.

Hindus believe that by worshipping Lord Shiva, their prayers and wishes come true. “We showered rose petals in the holy pond to pay homage as it is a sacred site for us,” said Rachna, who came from Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. She said Hindus believed they became ‘pavitra’ (clean) by bathing in the water of the holy pond.

KATAS RAJ MANDIRS COMPLEX RESURRECTS

Scores of Hindus participated in a special ceremony held at the historic Katasraj Temple in Pakistan’s Punjab province following the restoration of its holy pond, which had begun drying up due to excessive use of groundwater by a nearby cement factory.

A total of 115 Hindus from cities across Pakistan visited the temple in Chakwal district on Saturday.

Shri Amar Kund, the sacred pond, was showered with rose petals and pilgrims drank its water and filled bottles to take home.

The Punjab government took steps to revive the pond after it dried up this summer.

The trip to the temple by the Hindus too was facilitated by the Punjab government.

Ashok Chand, general secretary of the Hindu Sudhar Sabha, was quoted by the Dawn newspaper as saying that the federal and provincial governments should protect other Hindu sites across the country.

“We are very thankful to the Punjab government as it did a great job for us,” he said.

The Colours of the Pond

After attending the ceremony at the pond, Hindus visited the temples in the Katasraj complex.They worshipped at Lord Shiva’s lingam.

“By worshipping Lord Shiva, our prayers and wishes come true,” said Namindar Rani, who had come from Mandi Bahauddin.

“We showered rose petals in the holy pond to pay homage as it is a sacred site for us,” said Rachna, who came from Lahore, the capital of Punjab province.

She said Hindus believed they became ‘pavitra’ (clean) by bathing in the water of the holy pond.

Ratan Lal, vice president of the National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony, said the Punjab government should allow Hindus to celebrate Diwali at the Katasraj Temple.

In May, President Asif Ali Zardari expressed concern at the damage to the centuries-old Katasraj Temple due to environmental degradation caused by industrial complexes and sought a report from authorities.

Zardari acted after a media report said industrial complexes around Katasraj Temple had destroyed its pristine beauty and threatened the natural water pond with “complete extinction”.

He directed authorities to restore the site in a scientific manner.

Media reports had said that the sacred pond at the Katasraj Temple was drying up because of excessive use of groundwater in the region by a cement factory.

Saeed Iqbal Wahlah, Secretary of the Environment Protection Department, who is the focal person of the Katasraj Conservation Committee, said the Punjab government had acted on a war footing to revive the holy pond.

“It is the responsibility of the Punjab government to protect sacred sites of minorities as they are equal citizens of the country,” Wahlah said.

A sum of Rs 609.19 million was spent on restoring the pond and the federal government will provide another Rs 20 million for renovation works.

“The Katas Raj Conservation Committee also proposed that a hostel be built here where Hindu pilgrims could stay,” Wahlah said.

Ismat Tahira, Director General of the Punjab Archaeology Department, said her organisation was doing its best to renovate the Katasraj Temple while retaining its original state.

“The plight of the temples and the pond was so miserable some years ago but now all the temples have been renovated and the pond has been restored,” she said.

Chakwal district administration chief Ahmad Aziz Tarar assured Hindu pilgrims that the region would always welcome them.

“Chakwal is a peaceful district and its natives are very hospitable. You would never face any problem while visiting your revered sites,” he said.

According to Hindu mythology, the holy pond was formed when Lord Shiva wept over the death of his beloved wife.

The temples at the Katasraj site, located 40 km from Chakwal town, were built by Hindu kings around 900 years ago.

Some years ago, Pakistan decided to place idols of Hindu gods in seven temples at Katasraj and restore them to their original state to attract Hindu visitors as part of a multi-million rupee project.

Senior BJP leader L K Advani visited Pakistan in 2005 to lay the foundation stone for the project to restore the Katasraj complex.

This was the first time since 1947 that an Indian politician was invited to a Pakistani project to renovate a Hindu shrine. [PTI]

There’s a reason why the US media doesn’t use the term defeat however applicable it may be. It’s because your average “Joe” understands defeat, the shame of defeat, the sting of defeat, the anger of defeat.

Defeat is a repudiation of leadership, proof that we are ruled by fools and scoundrels. Defeat is also a powerful deterrent, the idea festers in people’s minds and turns them against foreign interventions, police actions and war.

That’s why the Times won’t utter the word, because defeat is the antidote for aggression, and the Times doesn’t want that. None of the media do.

CUT-AND-RUN TIME

Note for WoP writers: In the post that follows, Mike Whitney raises an important point. Selecting an excerpt from the New York Times, he quotes: America thinks it is in Afghanistan to help the Afghan women. Take a look at this August 2012 editorial titled “The Women of Afghanistan”:

“Afghanistan can be a hard and cruel land, especially for women and girls. Many fear they will be even more vulnerable to harsh tribal customs and the men who impose them after American troops withdraw by the end of 2014.

Women s’ rights have made modest but encouraging gains over the past decade. But these could disappear without a strong commitment to preserve and advance them from Afghan leaders.

The editorial continues:

…all Afghans should be invested in empowering women. As Mrs. Clinton has argued, there is plenty of evidence to show that no country can grow and prosper in today’s world if women are marginalized and oppressed.” (“The Women of Afghanistan”, New York Times)……

The author has rightly pointed out that actually its not the rights of women in Afghan society, but Washington and other international partners….

So says Whitney, its more It is about “America’s global interests”, particularly, pipeline corridors, mineral extraction and the Great Game, controlling real estate in thriving Eurasia, the economic center of the next century. That’s why the US invaded Afghanistan, the rest is propaganda.

In addition to what the oped writer of Counterpunch has so tacitly answered about this pseudo feelings for Afghan women, question arises what about the women of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan etc. where women can’t even vote, go to a shopping center if not accompanied by their menfolk.

Fact is that the American administration gets passionate for women’s rights only when a country goes astray from the goals set for it by the US. Similarly, the other US passions for human rights, democracy, enlightened moderation and such bla bla come only in action when a country follows an open, independent policy in its national interests, but may not fit into the agenda set by the US and its allies in the West.

In our context we have seen a manifestation of this hypocritical, sinister policy with respect to its stance on Kashmir. When respective Pakistani governments sided with US vis-a-vis its arch rival in the cold war era, US had espoused the human rights for Kashmiris with perhaps still more warmth than Pakistan itself. But after the demise of the erstwhile Soviet Union there was nothing left by which the US could get an advantage from Pakistan and hence the same Kashmiri freedom fighters are now branded as “terrorists” same as US has termed the Afghan Mujahideen who fought against the USSR on America’s behest, but now are fighting a war of independence as terrorists. Not so fast, George.

The United States hasn’t liberated Afghanistan. It hasn’t rebuilt Afghanistan. It hasn’t removed the warlords from power, curtailed opium production, established strong democratic institutions, or improved life for ordinary working people.

The US hasn’t achieved any of its strategic objectives.

The Taliban are stronger than ever, the central government is a corrupt farce, and, after 11 years of war, the country is in a shambles.

SECTARIAN VIOLENCE, DESTABILIZATION: WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE WEST?

And not only does the US State Department in tandem with Western corporate media provide Aung San Suu Kyi extensive political, financial, and rhetorical backing, they provide operational capabilities as well, allowing her opposition movement to achieve Western objectives throughout Myanmar.

The latest achievement of this operational capability successfully blocked the development of Myanmar’s infrastructure by halting a joint China-Mynamar dam project that would have provided thousands of jobs, electricity, state-revenue, flood control, and enhanced river navigation for millions.

Suu Kyi and her supporting network of NGOs, as well as armed militants in Myanmar’s northern provinces conducted a coordinated campaign exploiting both “environmental” and “human rights” concerns that in reality resulted in Myanmar’s continual economic and social stagnation.

The ultimate goal of course is to effect regime change not only in Myanmar, but to create a united Southeast Asian front against China in pursuit of long-documented plans to encircle and contain the emerging superpower.

As reported in June, 2011′s “Collapsing China,” as far back as 1997 there was talk about developing an effective containment strategy coupled with the baited hook of luring China into its place amongst the “international order.” Just as in these 1997 talking-points where author and notorious Neo-Con policy maker Robert Kagan described the necessity of using America’s Asian “allies” as part of this containment strategy, Clinton goes through a list of regional relationships the US is trying to cultivate to maintain “American leadership” in Asia.

The “Lilliputians” though small in stature were collectively able to tie down the larger Gulliver from the literary classic “Gulliver’s Travels.” In the same manner, the US wants to use smaller Southeast Asian nations to “tie down” the larger China.

The US Army’s Strategic Studies Institute 2006 publication, “String of pearls: Meeting the Challenge of China’s Rising Power Across the Asian Littoral“ details US geopolitical awareness of China’s growing influence throughout Asia and enumerates a plan of action to balk it while maintaining American preeminence.

While Kagan’s paper details a broader geopolitical strategy, the SSI report specifically mentions where China is expanding its influence. 

In defining China’s “String of Pearls” it states: 

Each “pearl” in the “String of Pearls” is a nexus of Chinese geopolitical influence or military presence. 4 Hainan Island, with recently upgraded military facilities, is a “pearl.” An upgraded airstrip on Woody Island, located in the Paracel archipelago 300 nautical miles east of Vietnam, is a “pearl.”

A container shipping facility in Chittagong, Bangladesh, is a “pearl.” Construction of a deep water port in Sittwe, Myanmar, is a “pearl,” as is the construction of a navy base in Gwadar, Pakistan. 5 Port and airfield construction projects, diplomatic ties, and force modernization form the essence of China’s “String of Pearls.”

The “pearls” extend from the coast of mainland China through the littorals of the South China Sea, the Strait of Malacca, across the Indian Ocean, and on to the littorals of the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf.

China is building strategic relationships and developing a capability to establish a forward presence along the sea lines of communication (SLOCs) that connect China to the Middle East (see Figure 1).

Violence in areas like Sittwe, Rakhine Myanmar, or Gwadar in Balochistan province of Pakistan, are not coincidences and documented evidence indicates immense Western backing for armed opposition groups.

The report was written in 2006 – and clearly the West has gone through great lengths since then to destabilize, neutralize, or isolate from China’s influence each and every one of these “pearls.”

Indeed, the state of Rakhine in southwest Myanmar is being developed by China as stated in the SSI report. The city of Sittwe is the site of a Chinese-built port, and Kyaukpyu is the future site for the terminal of a trans-Myanmar oil pipeline linking Chinese oil tankers incoming from the Middle East directly with China’s Yunnan province, negating the lengthy trip around the Strait of Malacca and across the South China Sea.

By destabilizing Rakhine state, either through this current violence, or by “radicalizing” groups within the Rohingya and expanding the violence further still, the West can ensure that progress is slow, or all together brought to a halt, just as it has with Chinese projects up country, or even abroad in nations like war-torn Libya or Pakistan’s now destabilized Balochistan province.

The SSI report also mentions Chittagong, Bangladesh, which also, coincidentally, has been dragged into neighboring Myanmar’s violence.

A library of policy papers detailing the US’ strategy vis-a-vis China’s emergence is available for the public to read. However, these papers are written in academic English and require demanding prerequisites across a variety of disciplines to understand. 

It also requires effort greatly exceeding that needed to merely consider and accept base arguments made by prominent and prolific Western media services. There is always more to a story than mere superficial religious or ethnic differences – and if a news story fails to address this, it has failed to report the truth.

While Associated Press claims these protesters are demonstrating against ethnic violence, the sign they carry clearly states that they seek the expulsion of the refugees from Myanmar, and are merely protesting against the Myanmar Army’s use of force to protect them from attacks that have left scores dead and thousands of refugee homes destroyed.

AUNG SAN SUU KYI’S “SAFFRON POLITICAL MACHINE” BEHIND  ROHINGYA MUSLIMS MASSACRE

In the summer and early fall of 2012 when this wave of violence had again erupted, AFP reported in their article, “Monks stage anti-Rohingya march in Myanmar,” that the marching “monks” supported President Thein Sein’s plan to expel the Rohingya, before paradoxically admitting that Thein Sein has accused the marchers of “kindling hatred toward the Rohingya.”

AFP, in a grave lapse of professional journalism, refers to the leader of this movement as merely “a monk named Wirathu.”

However, this isn’t merely “a monk named Wirathu,” but “Sayadaw” (venerable teacher) Wirathu who has led many of “democratic champion” Aung San Suu Kyi’s political street campaigns and is often referred to by the Western media as an “activist monk.”

In March of this year, Wirathu had led a rally calling for the release of so-called “political prisoners,” so designated by US State Department funded faux-NGOs. Wirathu himself was in prison, according to AFP, for inciting hatred against Muslims, until recently released as part of an amnesty, an amnesty US State Department-funded (page 15, .pdf) Democratic Voice of Burma claims concerned only “political prisoners.”

Real monks don’t do politics. The “venerable” Wirathu (front, left) leads a rally for “political prisoners” loyal to Aung San Suu Kyi’s “pro-democracy” movement in March, 2012. Wirathu himself has been often portrayed as an “activist monk” and a “political prisoner” who spent years in prison.

In reality, he was arrested for his role in violent sectarian clashes in 2003, while Suu Kyi’s “pro-democracy” front is actually US-funded sedition. Wirathua has picked up right where he left off in 2003, and is now leading anti-Rohingya rallies across the country.

Human Rights Watch itself, in its attempt to memorialize the struggle of “Buddhism and activism in Burma” (.pdf),  admits that Wirathu was arrested in 2003 and sentenced to 25 years in prison along with other “monks” for their role in violent clashes between “Buddhists and Muslims” (page 67, .pdf). This would make Wirathu and his companions violent criminals, not “political prisoners.”

While Western news agencies have attempted to spin the recent violence as a new phenomenon implicating Aung San Suu Kyi’s political foot soldiers as genocidal bigots, in reality, the sectarian nature of her support base has been back page news for years. AFP’s recent but uncharacteristically honest portrayal of Wirathu, with an attempt to conceal his identity and role in Aung San Suu Kyi’s “Saffron” political machine, illustrates the quandary now faced by Western propagandists as the violence flares up again, this time in front of a better informed public.

An alleged monk, carries an umbrella with Aung San Suu Kyi’s image on it. These so-called monks have played a central role in building Suu Kyi’s political machine, as well as maintaining over a decade of genocidal, sectarian violence aimed at Myanmar’s ethnic minorities. Another example of US “democracy promotion” and tax dollars at work.

During 2007′s “Saffron Revolution,” these same so-called “monks” took to the streets in a series of bloody anti-government protests, in support of Aung San Suu Kyi and her Western-contrived political movement. HRW would specifically enumerate support provided to Aung San Suu Kyi’s movement by these organizations, including the Young Monks Union (Association), now leading violence and calls for ethnic cleansing across Myanmar.

The UK Independent  in their article, “Burma’s monks call for Muslim community to be shunned,” mentions the Young Monks Association by name as involved in distributing flyers recently, demanding people not to associate with ethnic Rohingya, and attempting to block humanitarian aid from reaching Rohingya camps.

The Independent also notes calls for ethnic cleansing made by leaders of the 88 Generation Students group (BBC profile here) - who also played a pivotal role in the pro-Suu Kyi 2007 protests. “Ashin” Htawara, another “monk activist” who considers Aung San Suu Kyi,  his “special leader” and greeted her with flowers for her Oslo Noble Peace Prize address earlier this year, stated at an event in London that the Rohingya should be sent “back to their native land.” 

The equivalent of Ku Klux Klan racists demanding that America’s black population be shipped back to Africa, the US State Department’s “pro-democratic” protesters in Myanmar have been revealed as habitual, violent bigots with genocidal tendencies and enumerated designs. Their recent violence also casts doubts on Western narratives portraying the 2007 “Saffron Revolution’s” death toll as exclusively the work of government security operations.  

Like their US-funded (and armed) counterparts in Syria, many fighting openly under the flag of sectarian extremism held aloft by international terrorist organization Al Qaeda, we see the absolute moral bankruptcy of Myanmar’s “pro-democracy” movement that has, up until now, been skillfully covered up by endless torrents of Western propaganda – Aung San Suu Kyi’s Nobel Peace Prize and a recent showering of Western bestowed awards, all being part of the illusion.

JAPAN CAN’T KEEP AVOIDING THE NUCLEAR THREAT

The noisy Tokyo-Beijing fracas over uninhabited specks of rock in the China Sea are making Japan feel increasingly nervous and vulnerable.

Few expect the two nations to stumble into war over the barren Senkaku Islands (Daiou in Chinese) though they are believed to abut important underwater resources. But chances of an accidental clash are rising as ships and aircraft from the two sides – and now Taiwan – buzz about the islets like angry hornets.  The US nuclear-powered submarine “Ohio” is prowling menacingly off nearby South Korea.

 Add this angry squabble to the long-festering Korea-Japan dispute over Dokdo Island (Takashima).  The scene in the north Pacific is anything but pacific.

Japan seized the Senkakus after it routed China in two-year war in 1894.  At the time, China’s Navy was believed far stronger than Japan’s.  The  Dokdo dispute dates from 1905 when Japan annexed Korea at the end of the Russo-Japanese War, one of the 20^th century’s most interesting but least known conflicts.

China is facing a crucial, once in a decade Communist Party congress to renew leadership that comes just as nationalism is boiling across China. The left faction of the Communist Party has been whipping up anti-Japanese fervor, abetted by Japanese far rightists who love to goad the prickly Chinese.

Meanwhile, fierce rivalry between the Communist Party’s left and right factions has erupted into the open with the purging of neo-Maoist populist, Bo Xilai, and leaked claims to the US media of a $2.2 billion fortune secretly held by the family of Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.

As the Sino-Japanese war of words intensifies,  Japan is facing a major strategic problem it has long deferred:  how to deal with China’s rising military power.   In spite of its long recession, Japan is still an economic colossus.  But Japan is a military/strategic midget in a very dangerous neighborhood.

China targets Japan with nuclear missiles.  North Korea may also do so once it can shrink an atomic warhead to fit into its  medium-ranged Rodong-2 missiles.

Three or four nuclear weapons would effectively wipe out Japan.  Tokyo has only very limited anti-missile defenses and no way to retaliate against any major attack or to deter one.

The US, which is committed to defend Japan under a 1960 mutual defense treaty,  keeps warships with anti-missile missiles on station off Japan, but they would be unable to defend Japan in a full-scale war.

Japan’s military forces are similarly weak and were primarily designed to prevent an  amphibious invasion by Soviet forces.   They lack offensive power and a clear mission. The mood of defeat still hangs heavy on Japan.

Japan remains a US protectorate 67 years after the end of World War II,  hosting US air and naval bases and some 41,000 US military personnel.   The 1960 Treaty calls for the US to defend Japan against nuclear and conventional attack, though the status of  Senkaku remains murky.  But many Japanese doubt the US would risk nuclear war over the Senkaku or Yokahama.

Which leaves Japan the fate of remaining naked before its nuclear enemies.   Tokyo can continue to rely on US military guarantees, but it sees American power on a long-term decline as China’s influence steadily grows, and India throws its weight around south Asia.

Japan can build more anti- missile defenses and rely on the US Navy Aegis warships.  But a saturation missile attack would leak through Japan’s porous anti-missile shield.  Besides, Tokyo is reluctant to spend billions on such technology that lacks public support.

This leaves Japan with only one other choice: acquire an air and submarine-based offensive nuclear arsenal that would deter attack by China, North Korea or, far more remotely, India.  Japan is capable of producing a nuclear weapon in three months.  I have even seen sketch plans for a Japanese atomic weapon.

In spite of the horror nearly all Japanese feel for nuclear devices after Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the plant explosions at Fukushima, Japan will one day have to confront the nuclear issue.   Leaving it vulnerable to possible nuclear attack – or, even more likely,  nuclear blackmail – is irresponsible and dangerous.

Acquiring nuclear weapons will be extremely difficult politically and will raise a storm of anti-Japanese invective across Asia,  but Tokyo really has no other choice.

WHEN INDIA VISITS KASHMIR

It is not a question. In fact it is an answer to those who are and have been the core stakeholders of India’s visit to Kashmir now and then. It’s an answer to their silly statements. It’s an answer to their fake promises and most importantly it’s an answer to those who enjoy a sound sleep in Gupkar’s and tweet no different than Poonam Pandey, playing an important role in India’s visit to Kashmir.

Anyways, may it be the supremo of the so called largest democracy of the world or the next generation politicians, big business names or the Kings of their Bollywood, Kashmir was paid a visit by all of these in the year 2012. Still they are. I wonder what support India’s business tycoons can show to the Kashmir cause. Irony!

In-fact India’s visits to Kashmir this year saw a rush. Sometimes India visited Kashmir for a solution, sometimes for strengthening bonds and sometimes for a shoot in the Gulmarg’s and Pahalgam’s under tight security.

Just a few days back India visited Kashmir again, as a youth leader. This time to build a bridge: The Bridge of trust. The bridge which India wanted to build in a big Auditorium filled with a handpicked audience, on a decorated podium with barbed wires outside. Inside, under the tight security and escorted by marshals, the Youth leader was leaving no stone unturned publicizing his party, his promises and his solution but outside Black flags were hoisted. The “Azadi” slogans reverberated again not before the future of the nation was caged in their classrooms.

Snipers on the every possible roof top, just to ensure bridge was made as per plans. Everything happened as per the script. No questions, No queries and no answers even. Kashmir’s beauty was praised, photos were clicked, economic possibilities were discussed and the very next day, a grand breakfast at the Gupkar’s. They forgot the bridge.

India was the same all over again. They promise to build bridges even when there are no waters. All promise outran performance. Useless commitments and promises were made, promises and hopes; but no plans.

After that India visited Kashmir again. This time stressing on the need to strengthen the fencing on the Line of Control (LoC) to ensure zero infiltration and asking the Jammu and Kashmir Government to give sense of security to Panchayat representatives, and Kashmiri Pandits. A high profile meet was summoned and as always same answers. “We promise to take more solid measures”. The promises which were never fulfilled! India left for Shikara rides and Mughal Garden views. In-fact phones were Jammed as always, taking in consideration that no attack will take place.

Then India had to visit the famous Hazratbal shrine. Arrangements were made, security was beefed up and under the cover of ordnances and 200 odd guards India paid obeisance at the shrine. As always India was kissed on hands, on cheeks and on forehead by the “Mutawali” (Care Taker) of the shrine who is already well known for the gay acts with one of the Kashmir’s stakeholder with center.

Then India desired to visit the Historical “Ghanta Ghar” (Clock tower) in the city center Lal chowk. The demand had to be fulfilled. It was the master’s orders.

The whole city center was cordoned off before an hour taking all the residents and shop owners by a surprise. The 15 minute visit by India meant an hour long traffic jam in the main shopping hub of Kashmir, high level frisking to the locals and the passerby’s thus irking them and of course jamming mobile networks. India purchased some handicrafts. They forgot the promises.

Even apart from any political personality of India visiting Kashmir, things don’t seem to change any bit. From Ambani’s to the Khans, it’s only a common Kashmiri which has to pay.

In a tourist season a Kashmiri is barred to visit the Pahalgam’s. Why? Just because their King of Bollywood is shooting there under tight vigil and security and a common Kashmiri can’t go that way because the state government has ordered to cordon that area off. A common Kashmiri is no more worth than an alien who enjoys grand security and is welcomed by every possible administrator of the state. Even press conferences are also given under the shade of tight security in the Lalit’s but in between some teenagers are arrested and handcuffed in Public somewhere in the old city. No one can listen to the helpless cries of their mothers and sisters. How can they? They were busy making arrangements for the Khan’s. They forgot their duties.

Not only this year. Same has happened every year when India visits Kashmir. In fact Kashmiri’s are even asked to open their lunch boxes also and when asked why? They say it’s just a routine security check.

Jammed mobile networks and Internet, frisking at every possible corner, traffic jams, sudden cordons and a common Kashmiri caged in his own home.

Yes, this is what happens, When India visits Kashmir!

SWEDEN IS SO GREEN IT HAS TO IMPORT GARBAGE

Sweden’s successful waste-to-energy program converts household waste into energy for heating and electricity. But they’ve run into an unusual problem: they simply aren’t generating enough trash to power the incinerators, so they’ve begun importing waste from European neighbors.

When it comes to recycling, Sweden is incredibly successful. Just four percent of household waste in Sweden goes into landfills. The rest winds up either recycled or used as fuel in waste-to-energy power plants.

Burning the garbage in the incinerators generates 20 percent of Sweden’s district heating, a system of distributing heat by pumping heated water into pipes through residential and commercial buildings. It also provides electricity for a quarter of a million homes.

According to Swedish Waste Management, Sweden recovers the most energy from each ton of waste in the waste to energy plants, and energy recovery from waste incineration has increased dramatically just over the last few years.

The key to efficient heat and power production is co-generation, which minimises unnecessary loss of energy by maximising the useful applications of the surplus heat in the system. Swedish waste-to-energy plants are highly efficient as they transform more than 90 % of the energy in the incoming waste into useful heat and power.

The problem is, Sweden’s waste recycling program is too successful.

Catarina Ostlund, Senior Advisor for the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency said the country is producing much less burnable waste than it needs.

“We have more capacity than the production of waste in Sweden and that is usable for incineration,” Ostlund said.

However, they’ve recently found a solution.

Sweden has recently begun to import about eight hundred thousand tons of trash from the rest of Europe per year to use in its power plants. The majority of the imported waste comes from neighboring Norway because it’s more expensive to burn the trash there and cheaper for the Norwegians to simply export their waste to Sweden.

In the arrangement, Norway pays Sweden to take the waste off their hands and Sweden also gets electricity and heat. But dioxins in the ashes of the waste byproduct are a serious environmental pollutant. Ostlund explained that there are also heavy metals captured within the ash that need to be landfilled. Those ashes are then exported to Norway.

This arrangement works particularly well for Sweden, since in Sweden the energy from the waste is needed for heat. According to Ostlund, when both heat and electricity are used, there’s much higher efficiency for power plants.

“So that’s why we have the world’s best incineration plants concerning energy efficiency. But I would say maybe in the future, this waste will be valued even more so maybe you could sell your waste because there will be a shortage of resources within the world,” Ostlund said.

Ostlund said Sweden hopes that in the future Europe will build its own plants so it can manage to take care of its own waste.

“I hope that we instead will get the waste from Italy or from Romania or Bulgaria or the Baltic countries because they landfill a lot in these countries. They don’t have any incineration plants or recycling plants, so they need to find a solution for their waste,” Ostlund said.

In fact, landfilling remains the principal way of disposal in those countries, but new waste-to-energy initiatives have been introduced in Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and Lithuania.

It is also important, Ostlund notes, for Sweden to find ways to reduce its own waste in the future.

“This is not a long-term solution really, because we need to be better to reuse and recycle, but in the short perspective I think it’s quite a good solution,” Ostlund concluded.

THE TRUE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE “WESTERN SYSTEM”

When things happen rapidly it is called mystery; when history does uncover mystery, it is always too late.  Nepali leaders should know that both China and India put together are far less corrupt than the western leaders. The corruption of western leaders is expressed in decimation of nations without any parallel in modern history; the US NATO forces are in overt or covert wars across the world mainly in resource rich but poor countries. The western leaders are sociopaths who destroy entire societies. “The imperium is ruled not by fools but liars, manipulators, murderers, and other criminals….accountable to no one….” [9]

The truth is that foreign funded Maoists and NGOs in Nepal are clueless about the nature of the western intervention. Their foolishness will cause immense hardship for Nepali people and many problems for China, India and the entire Himalayan region. The people of Nepal should know that the custodians of chaos are the Maoist, NGOs and INGOs and all these institutions are funded by global predatory oligarchy. It is up to the Nepali people to kick the non-performing leaders out of positions of authority especially when they say that ‘power is not in their hands’ and, similarly, the insidious and pernicious influence of international development agencies. People must resolve the Matrix; bite the blue or the red pill

D Raja supported nuclear power when even hard headed nuclear scientists know that it is failed technology. The Maoists in Nepal are no better.

[7] Despite Iranian offer to sell oil and gas against rupee payment, which was negotiated by the Indian Ministry, the Reserve Bank of India instructed them to buy oil and gas only in dollar. If Indian authorities wish to slave for the western powers and tow their line, why should Nepal follow that?

[8] Since the end of World War II, the western powers have covertly and often overtly destroyed socialist societies and removed democratic and popular leaders in Asia, Africa and Latin America. What they did in Europe has been documented by Dr. Daniel Ganser in his ‘NATO’s Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe’ published by Routledge; 2005.

Daniel Ganser is a historian and senior researcher at the Center for Security Studies, Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. The book is an excellent academic work and documents “The best kept, and most damaging, political-military secret since World War II” (Observer, 18. November 1990). Since then, NATO’s role in Europe has been exposed in France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Greece and Turkey.

A Nepalese Army’s senior officer is coordinating with American soldiers; but again the coordination could have been better with local public health experts who are more knowledgeable in these matters. Effectively, this ‘humanitarian mission’ appears to be strictly an army matter and it stinks.

‘A TRULY NATIONAL  NEPALI POLICY’

IS WHAT THE PEOPLE OF NEPAL NEED AND DEMAND

When people forget history, mystery repeats itself. History tells us that Nepal had developed a sophisticated democratic system over two thousand years before Aristotle’s Greece; the mystery is that ethnic identity federalists are still groping for a viable one and the Maoists want a Communist collectivist solution.

Nepal’s ancient political institutions and culture flourished because the people were wise. History says that Nepal’s ancestors evolved a sophisticated participatory decentralized local self government in ancient Nepal, then known as Kirat Pradesh to which the Limbus and Licchavis also contributed later. [1]

The mystery is that modern Nepali leaders and the 602 educated and westernized members of Nepal’s Constituent Assembly could not write even one page of a Constitution; they can’t because the Maoists and ethnic federalists have chosen to serve western predatory capitalist interests.

What is not a mystery is that wherever the ‘custodians of chaos’ INGOs, NGOs, US-AID, Ford Foundation, DfID, George Soros funded Human Rights organizations and the UN-Framework Team go, they make the target nation ungovernable. That is the situation in Nepal today.

PERFECT NON-PERFORMING ASSETS

Maoist-neoconservative, and an innovative war-tourism initiator, Prachanda [aka Pushp Kamal Dahal] says that India’s interference has brought Nepal to a political logjam. The Delhi educated current Prime Minister Bhattarai, also a Maoist-neoconservative, says ‘power is not in his hands’.

Mohan Baidya Kiran and Madhav Nepal say that they don’t want Indian cars and Hindi movies in Nepal. These are irresponsible assertions of leaders who don’t represent Nepali people.

When a Nepali makes money, he/she invests in Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, etc, because they find their investments safe with steady gain in property value and thousands of Nepalese own businesses in India. The Maoists should actually ban investments of corrupt Nepali leaders who find it safe to buy property in India and deposit cash in Liechtenstein banks.

Yami should know, so should Prime Minister Bhattarai and their cohort. Question is: would they invest in Xijang, Beijing or Shanghai, or any place north of the border? If no, why? The true relationship between nations is determined by where the hot money goes.

Nepali actors like Mala Sinha or Manisha Koirala have done India’s Bollywood proud, to name a few, and many more will follow in their footsteps. Popular singer Udit Narayan [born in Bhardaha village of Saptari district of Nepal], Cameraman Binod Pradhan and Pradeep Gurung are much sought after.  If creative artists from Nepal wish to shine, the place and opportunity is right at their doorstep.

Even Pakistani artists come here, so do Sri Lankan and Bangladeshis.

Mohan and Madhav can ban Hindi movies but they can’t prevent a talented Nepali from succeeding in Bollywood and when they succeed in Bollywood the people of Nepal have a right to soak in Nepali success. Why haven’t they banned the insidious Zionist-CIA funded Follywood?

As far as banning Indian cars are concerned, the communist leaders are misinformed about the business of car making. [2] By 1980, the intermediate technology based automobile industry had integrated so closely across the world that not one country could say that they make 100% of an automobile.

There was no 100% British automobile by the 1980s and no American by the end of 1980s. Motown Detroit is finished, so is the Midlands region of England once home to 46 independent car manufacturers. Cars are manufactured in India because of lower labour cost; design, engineering and CAD/CAM comes from a dozen countries. [3]

It’d have made more sense to offer Nepal as a base for car making instead of banning a non-existent 100% Indian car.

Prachanda is right about India’s menacing interference, though. A lowly state minister of India during the seven-month rule of Prime Minister Chandrashekhar [November ‘90 to June ‘91] told the Nepalese Government to appoint one Mr. X as Nepal’s ambassador to country Y.

That Mr. X had no diplomatic experience or training yet was entrusted with a vital assignment in a sensitive region. Prachand, Mohan Baidya, Madhav Nepal and all who think that India’s interference is a problem should seek solutions from wiser counsels in Nepal and, if necessary, join Shanghai Cooperation [SCO].

Kathmandu is not in any marital bond with New Delhi to follow traditional nuptial obligation until death. The India-versus-China fixation is Nepali leaders’ problem but how many Nepali leaders have a workable and practical economic policy that would help the people of Nepal? [4]

Should Nepal adopt corporatist neo-conservative agenda being palmed off as ‘economic policy’ by Man Mohan Singh? After all it was the Maoists who agreed to World Bank funded water privatization project for Kathmandu; Nepali people stopped it.

THE AGENTS OF INGO’S AND NGO’S

Nepali people should note that all International NGOs and international aid and Human Rights agencies working in Nepal do so in a coordinated manner with six specific objectives which are:

• To manipulate and discredit dominant religion and eventually cause its destruction;

• To strengthen the cult of Christian Fundamentalism [5]; the attack on Hindu temples, the abusive statements of NEFIN leaders denouncing Hindus, the database and map created by the Joshua Project funded by Christian fundamentalists are all a coordinate process to the third point, which is essentially

• To destroy national identity and national pride by instigating ethnic and caste divide

• To prevent people and their leaders from deciding their own destiny by means of one engineered crisis after another and then posing as “managers of the crises” or even allowing a situation of drift; the 10-year long civil war and four year long attempt and utter failure to draft a new Constitution is the most glaring example

• To pave the way for predatory and environmentally destructive capitalist system and simultaneously weaken the traditional socio-cultural system of managing common pool resources with equitable benefit sharing which will destroy the ecologically fragile Himalayas, and
• To penetrate and subvert Nepalese government and security structure

Each of the six is a huge issue and hundreds of hard evidences exist but the main point is that over the past two decades the INGOs and NGOs often in collusion with the Maoists, the international aid agencies and the UN system are well on way to achieving all six agendas.

It’s been two decades of calibrated move and the gun powder can be lit any time.

The creation of NGO, or non-governmental organization, by former western colonial powers, especially Europe’s ruling elite’s and their current muscleman USA, happened extremely rapidly which means that planning must have started at least a decade earlier. Kathmandu was a logical choice for ‘Custodians of Chaos,’ being the heart of the Himalayan region, at the door step of major Asian nations where participants from South Asian nations could arrive without visa problems.

The 19^th Century vintage champagne of ‘divide and rule and plunder’ has a new bottle made by the INGOs, NGOs and the Maoists.

The ostensible reason for creating an army of NGOs was that the Governments in the third world countries have failed to provide critical educational, healthcare, welfare and developmental services and that these services will be better served by NGOs. Not one ‘reformer’ or ‘thinker’ proffered the other option of improving efficiency in the government so vital in developing countries.

Another solution being imposed on the world is outsourced government functions through Public-Private-Partnership [PPP].

In the USA, even the prison system works on PPP with, as some analysts suggest, Government guarantee of 90% occupancy, which means the American Police must arrest its own citizens on the flimsiest of charges, a depravity not seen anywhere in the world. The real purpose of NGOs is to pave the way for one world government and make legitimate government redundant.

THE PROBLEM OF MAOISM AND ETHNIC IDENTITY FEDERALISTS

The problem of Maoists and ethnic identity federalists is that both groups are inextricably ensnared in the agenda of INGOs, international development agencies and Soros funded human rights institutions. Their employees enjoy relatively higher standard of living as compared to common citizen.

Once a society has this sort of linkages, it is difficult to throw them out. Nonetheless, NGOs and INGOs have become Trojan horse in all developing countries with the single objective of breaking as many nations as they can into economically ungovernable entities while the natural resources are plundered.

And all the diplomats from West Europe and USA are deeply involved in this.

The Maoists in Nepal should know that no matter which country right now, the European elite and their muscleman USA have systematically destroyed many socialistic movements in Europe itself.

NATO conducted a lethal secret war against genuine socialists and reformers in Europe financed by the same European feudal powers who bet on spurious Maoists because they are the best bet for chaos in South Asia. [5]

There is plenty of convergence of interest between the Maoists and Christian church too because the Vatican is involved in financial frauds, criminal money laundering and undermining poor tribal people around the world and that history is also well documented.

The basic premise of Maoist political economy to impose a collectivist society is actually fascistic and neo-conservative agenda, which even their leaders don’t understand or don’t talk about it. [6]

While the Indian leadership has drifted perilously close to the same fascistic western alliance and financial system, at least the Chinese leadership is making a serious attempt to create a parallel financial system: they have recently announced that oil and gas will be traded in Yuan and Russia has promised them as much oil and gas they want and any country can opt out of dollar hegemony.

Has any ethnic identity federalist or Maoist leader said that Nepal should opt out of dollar hegemony or the hegemony of Indian rupee and purchase oil and gas from China paid for in Yuan? Is Bhattarai’s power located in Capitol Hill or Buckingham Palace or Delhi?

Has Prachand any economic agenda of keeping India out that would benefit Nepali people? If Nepal starts buying oil and gas from China, a litre of petrol would cost much less. [7] Nepali leaders including those in NEFIN and other rag tag band talk only politics; they don’t have an economic agenda. And they don’t even know how genuine socialists are treated by the crooked and murderous imperium. [8]

Before you start reading the main article on this almost unique animal in the nonhuman mammalian world, even though to us they may look ugly, the centrality of the bat’s place in both nature’s great tapestry and in human affairs warrants notice and gratitude. For one, most bats eat insects, and unbelievably, tons and tons of insects.
Here are some more

BAT FACTS

• A single little brown bat can catch 1,200 mosquito-sized insects in just one hour.

• A colony of 150 big brown bats can protect local farmers from up to 33 million or more rootworms each summer.

• Tropical bats are key elements in rain forest ecosystems, which rely on them to pollinate flowers and disperse seeds for countless trees and shrubs.

• In the wild, important agricultural plants, from bananas, breadfruit, and mangoes to cashews, dates, figs, rely on bats for pollination and seed dispersal.

• Desert ecosystems rely on nectar-feeding bats as primary pollinators of giant cacti, including the famous organ pipe and saguaro of Arizona.

• Bat droppings in caves support whole ecosystems of unique organisms, including bacteria useful in detoxifying wastes, improving detergents, and producing gasohol and antibiotics.

• An anticoagulant from vampire bat saliva may soon be used to treat human heart patients.

• Contrary to popular misconceptions, bats are not blind, do not become entangled in human hair, and seldom transmit disease to other animals or humans.

• Bat are exceptionally vulnerable to extinction, in part because they are the slowest reproducing mammals on earth for their size. Most produce only one young a year.

• Loss of bats increases demand for chemical pesticides, can jeopardize whole ecosystems of other animal and plant species, and can harm human economies.

At the UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity COP11 held in Hyderabad India, during a side event- “Flagship species and the conservation of the entire ecosystem: Why do individual species matter?” I stumbled on a little known fact that 2011 to 2012 is the year of the Bat.

Stories on disappearing bees have been doing the rounds, and every publication worth its salt, has carried doomsday stories on it. So it might surprise you that another, equally useful though ugly animal, the bat, has been battling to keep alive as well. But as mentioned earlier, we humans find them ugly and believe all sorts of urban legends about them, so nothing much has been written about this winsome mammal.

The Time magazine says, Bats comprise of more than 1,200 distinct species, ranging in size from a mini hog-nosed sprite weighing about an ounce to a fruit-gorging, 3-lb. giant with a 4-ft. wingspan and the movements of a fox, bats are found all over the globe. They are found everywhere from Patagonia to Alaska, Scandinavia to Madagascar, Montreal to Mongolia and of course in India and Pakistan.

Bats live in a mind boggling range of habitat and boast of an amazingly precise power of echolocation to guide their precise flying movements. So all that bunkum, about them getting into your hair and clinging to your scalp is best forgotten! They will never bump into you, period, but their flying close maybe the cause for your fear.

Almost unique in the nonhuman mammalian world, even though to us they look very ugly, the centrality of the bat’s place in both nature’s great tapestry and in human affairs warrants notice and gratitude. For one thing, most bats eat insects, and unbelievably, tons and tons of insects.

According to Austin-based Bat Conservation International, a single colony the size of the one found each summer beneath Austin’s Congress Avenue Bridge, roughly a million members, devours about 10 tons of insects (mosquitoes, moths, beetles, etc.) during its evening rounds. That’s 20,000 lb. of flying, biting, potentially disease-carrying, crop-destroying bugs for dinner. And we are talking, every, single, night.

Bats are the only flying mammals, and they suckle their young until they are capable of foraging for themselves. They have a thin, elastic wing membranes between their fingers and legs that gives them an almost acrobatic flight capacity. The scientific name for their wings is Chiroptera which translates to ‘hand wing’. This allows better maneouverability in flight and thus allows bats to be such remarkable flying mammals.

There are more than 1.000 bat species around the world, which can be found in every continent except Antarctica. Judging from their unique wing size, bats are classified as either Mega-bats Megachiroptera or Micro-bats Microchiroptera. Mega-bats are tropical and ‘Old World’ bat species from Africa, Asia and Australia. They have large wingspans and bodies just like the Golden-Crowned Flying Fox with a 1.5 meter wingspan and weighing up to 1.2 kilograms.

Mega-bats have fox like faces with long noses, large eyes and/or small ears.

Micro-bats on the other hand, have smaller wingspan and bodies and can be found worldwide. Unlike Mega-bats, they have diverse and distinct facial features. Mega-bats primarily feed on fruit, flowers and nectar and Micro-bats feeding primarily on insects and other broad and other diverse items.

Bats (except most fruit bats) orient themselves and hunt by means of a highly sophisticated system of echolocation, emitting high-frequency calls which cannot be heard by humans. Most fruit bats, such as the Grey headed flying-fox, have larger eyes and a sharp sense of smell as they find food by sight and smell.

Echolocation helps bats avoid collisions and help locate their prey as calls bounce off obstacles or prey. They make calls as they fly and listen to the returning echoes to build up a sonic map. Bats are sophisticated hunters and some bats can even distinguish between different insect species by their wing-beat frequency.

Interestingly, bats have a low reproduction rate and a long life expectancy and produce one baby per year with a life expectancy of 30 years. They are warm blooded animals with the ability to regulate their body temperature and are also able to maintain their energy efficiency by reducing their body metabolism, says Bert Lenten, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).

Dr. Merlin Tuttle the Honorary Ambassador for the 2011-2012 Year of the Bat campaign says education plays an essential roles in educating humans about the role of bats in maintaining healthy ecosystems and human economies. Bats are found nearly everywhere and approximately 1,200 species account for almost a quarter of all mammals. Nevertheless, in recent decades their populations have declined alarmingly and many are now endangered, though they provide invaluable services that we cannot afford to lose.

Simply because they are active only at night and difficult to observe and understand, bats rank among our planet’s most misunderstood and intensely persecuted mammals. Those that eat insects are primary predators of the vast numbers that fly at night, including ones that cost farmers and foresters billions of dollars in losses annually. When the numbers of bats decline, the demand for dangerous pesticides grow, as does the cost of growing crops like rice, corn and cotton.

Fruit and nectar-eating bats are equally important in maintaining whole ecosystems of plant life. In fact, their seed dispersal and pollination services are crucial to the regeneration of rain forests which are the lungs and rain makers of our planet. Many of the plants which depend on such bats are additionally of great economic value, their products ranging from timber and tequila to fruits, spices, nuts and even natural pesticides.

“People and bats can offer a lot of mutual benefit, even in our cities. Through our Year of the Bat activities, we have shown that bats are much more than essential to our planet and ecosystems than thought of earlier. They’re incredibly fascinating, delightfully likeable masters of our night,” said Bert of CMS..

So if we want to keep our cities bug and mosquito free, save the bat and clear your head of all those vampire stories. They are just that- stories!

Are India and Pakistan likely to stumble into nuclear war? This appalling possibility has long been kept alive by conflicts between the two nuclear neighbours, but it may have been pushed closer to fulfillment by a catastrophic failure of U.S. foreign policy in South Asia.

In a cover story in the Economist on the world’s “most dangerous border” described Pakistan’s intent to militarize its nuclear capacity, and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger warned of a pre-World War I, Balkans-like scenario in South Asia that could lead to a global conflict.

It was October 25, 1962. The whole world was on pins and needles, watching the showdown off the shores of Cuba. We heard the tension in the voices on the radio and in the murmur of our parents’ voices just beyond earshot. The language of war: blockade, nuclear missiles, retaliation.

We saw it and heard it all day, at school, in the faces and the voices of friends and teachers. The language of fear: nervous laughter, shallow reassurances. Adolescent voices singing Where had all the flowers gone? When would they ever learn? When would they ever learn?

 WHO REALLY ‘WON’ THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS

HAVANA -  The black, sinister-looking Soviet SS-4 intermediate-ranged missile on display at  Havana’s La Cabana fortress looks old, roughly finished, and rather primitive.

But this missile, and 41 others (including some longer-ranged SS-5’s) terrified the United States during the October 1962 missile crisis – 13 days that shook the world.  Each of them could have delivered a one megaton warhead onto America’s East Coast cities, starting with Washington DC.  One megaton is a city-buster.

When the Cuban missile crisis erupted 50 years ago this month, I was a student at Washington’s  Georgetown University Foreign Service School.  Cuba was headline news.  The Cold War was at its peak.

A CIA-operation to invade Cuba and overthrow Fidel Castro’s Marxist government had spectacularly failed at the Bay of Pigs. The new, inexperienced US president, John Kennedy, got cold feet on the last minute and called off vital air cover for an invasion by  Cuban exiles. Deprived of air cover, most were killed or captured.  Kennedy should have either called off the amphibious operation or provided it air cover.

COUNTERING THE US/NATO AMBITION FOR GLOBAL FULL SPECTRUM DOMINANCE AND PRESERVING PEACE

Although some Asian nations alignment with Western powers is being criticized, it is important to remember, that their long standing alignment with the USA, UK, France, and other is rendering them extremely vulnerable in cases when their government would attempt to implement a non-aligned policy or simply a more autonomous foreign policy that serves their nations interests.

“Full-spectrum dominance means the ability of U.S. forces, operating alone or with allies, to defeat any adversary and control any situation across the range of military operations.” Such overblown rhetoric is out of touch with reality, dangerously delusional, and even arguably insane.

It is however useful, even vital, to those corporations who have become accustomed to profiting from the Cold War, and who faced deep cuts in U.S. defense and intelligence spending in the first years after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Rather than criticizing governments who are in that quagmire, it would be more constructive to use diplomatic finesse, to make it not only attractive but feasible for countries like the Philippines to orient itself politically, so that it can serve it´s own and regional interests rather than those of modo-colonial powers who are seeking dominance rather than partnership.

Some initiatives could and should be taken by all Asian nations, regardless of their affiliations. Mutual, bilateral and multi-lateral assurances could ease their implementation in Western aligned countries.

Some initiatives that could help creating an atmosphere that would facilitate a development towards regional stability, security and the peaceful coexistence would be:

Further resolutions at the UN Security Council and General Assembly that lend apparent legitimacy to utterly illegal ”interventions” and violations of national sovereignty must be consequently and consistently opposed. Any nation that experiences political, diplomatic, economical, or other pressure in an attempt to make it comply with requests from NATO member states should enjoy the full solidarity of any other peaceful nation.

Demands that the USA and NATO change their foreign policy and military doctrine, to comply with international law. Diplomatic, political, economic and other sanctions should be negotiated among Asian and other nations and bilateral as well as multilateral agreements about solidarity in the case of repression need to be discussed and implemented.

Withdrawal from the International Criminal Court and other quasi-judicial, illegitimate organizations and solidarity with non-compliant nations.

The fact that the USA does not recognize the ICC while abusing it, and while threatening with military action against nations that refer US citizens to prosecution at the ICC can not be withheld from the public and provides more than ample diplomatic leverage.

The implementation of international jurisdiction for the most serious crimes recognized by mankind into national law. Bilateral and multilateral assurances of solidarity in cases where the arrest, trial, and or sentencing of a person for any of such crimes results in political, diplomatic, economic, or even military sanctions against the nation who is making use of international jurisdiction.

The establishment of an International Bureau for Peace and Justice as a permanent, supra-national body to remedy the lack of independent investigations into the most serious crimes, the preparation of prosecutable cases, and other activities that limit the ability of criminals to travel freely.

The deterioration of international law, including the principles of the Treaty of Westphalia, the Geneva Convention, the Hague Convention, the Laws that prohibit the use of mercenaries, and other international bodies of law, many of which have been established after unspeakable suffering, must be opposed. Without the establishment of an international institution that is legal, as opposed to the ICC, and just, as opposed to the ICC, the world, including the Asian region will regress into barbarism.

Implementing legislation modeled over a recent Russian initiative, to protect the country from covert subversion attempts by foreign sponsored NGOs.l Monitoring of NGO´s who are inciting discord between ethnic or religious groups in an attempt to destabilize a sovereign state, such as it is the case with NEFIN in Nepal.li

Monitoring United Nations agencies more closely. Holding UN Agencies, and in particular the Soros funded UN Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action accountable for any subversive activities. If necessary to arrest, deport, or prosecute UN members who engage in illicit, subversive activities.

Bilateral and multilateral agreements and accords with respect to solidarity in the case of sanctions for holding the UN, its agencies or employees accountable for illegitimate activities. Diplomatic immunity is not a carte blanche for espionage, subversion, drug trafficking, human trafficking or any of the other outrages the UN has been involved in, in recent decades.

Monitoring closely, the activities of Western Embassy personnel and members of Western Intelligence communities. Countering their abuse of their host nations territory and good-will as well as diplomatic privileges to co-operate with terrorist organization or otherwise abuse their privileges to provide political or material support to terrorist organizations or their members.

Bilateral and multilateral assurances and Concords of solidarity in case of repercussions due to countering Western diplomats and Intelligence personnels’ illicit activities.

TO USE REDUCTIONIST APPROACH AT CLOSING; THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS.

National sovereignty, diversity and peaceful coexistence, the upholding of international law, combined with resistance against the US/NATO ambition for global full spectrum dominance, or a return to anarchy, barbarism, colonialism, and tyranny.

We are indeed in a period where courage and integrity among the political leadership in Asia is more urgently needed than ever before. The challenges can seem overwhelming. The alternatives to much needed change, however, are potentially catastrophic.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ILLEGAL INTRERNATIONAL COURTS & POLITICIZED TRIALS – A PSEUDO-LEGALISTIC POLITICAL WITCH-HUNT & VICTORS JUSTICE

Note for WoP readers: In this part of their thesis, the authors describe the strategem adopted by the US and her partners as to how the countries in the developing or even the developed world can be ‘moulded’ to meet the sinister agenda set by the neoconservtives outside the ambit of the White House or of those sitting within Washington’s presidential palace.

The modus operandi of this stratagem is now visible in Pakistan where ethnic, racial, geographical and economic factors are being fomented and then hyped up to achieve the nefarious agenda set by the US and her allies.

The situation is already being exploited on these lines in Pakistan to orchestrate a situation whereby the US controlled UN would be prompted to suggest an humanitarian intervention as has been done in case of Libya and now being implemented in Syria as well.

And when I view these points in context of our tribal areas, Karachi and Balochistan, the modus operandi again becomes amply manifest. Its therefore for our policy makers and the leaders to see how they can galvanise the nation to thwart such sinister agendas. I am, however, afraid that henchmen of the west would do everything that would help the planners in Washington to do exactly what they want, for they go according to the Punjabi saying: “Koi maray koi jeeway, Lallo ghol patashay peeway” (whether somebody may die, or may live, “I dont care “). Such attitudionists and our of leaders of the sort whether this country gains or not, would do everything which would let them have their pie and that’s exactly what they want. [Nayyar]

Whereas the systematic erosion of international law is one alley that is leading towards a return to barbarism, the establishment of pseudo-legal international courts which are being used by NATO and allied nations for a pseudo-legalistic political witch-hunt and the implementation of victors’ justice against those who have fallen victims to NATO´s ”interventions” is an equally dangerous alley towards barbarism. Indeed, it may even be more dangerous than the outright violation of international laws and conventions because here the illegal aggression is disguised as legitimate justice.

The ICTY, ICTR, SCSL, SCL, and similar special courts and tribunals are such Quasi-Judicial Institutions. Modern international law does not provide any legal basis for the creation of any of the above mentioned institutions. Their utility is to provide ”legal” sanction to the already unlawfully achieved results of covert or overt illegal wars, aggression  or interventions.

While these quasi-judicial tribunals are unlawful in the first place, their methodology of achieving ”desired results” is even more so, since new rules and regulations are written on an ad hoc basis to secure convictions, as was the case at the ICTY and ICTR and others.

The results of such ”International Criminal Justice” are

- the conviction of mainly Serbs through rigged show trials and the demonstrative acquittal of real perpetrators who belonged to the NATO allied, Al Al Qaeda associated Kosovo Liberation Army, also known as KLA/UCK, at the ICTY;

- the conviction of Hutus through the same rigged show trials at the ICTR which acts to protect the criminals of the RPF, and its western allies, the very ones who provoked and prosecuted the war in Rwanda,

- the conviction of Khmer Rouge members while the leaders and military officers of the USA are granted complete impunity for the devastating carpet bombing of Cambodia which destroyed the irrigation systems and led to a collapse of the society,

so on at the other tribunals.

These tribunals all are part of a system of show trials designed to demonize the former regimes of the countries concerned, to justify the US et al aggression both direct and indirect, against the countries concerned and to cover up the real role of the west in those wars.

The very creation of the International Criminal Court, ICC, is in fact another step towards the deterioration of international law due to the fact that the UN Security Council, notwithstanding the position of a given state to the ICC, which includes non-signatory states, can refer a case to the ICC Statute.

This creates the potential for situations where a non-signatory state to the treaty may force another non-signatory state to the same treaty to be bound by the treaty non of the two has signed. This state of affairs is an explosion of the very nature of international law at its very base.

Indeed, the USA refuses to be bound by the Rome Statute in any way and has stated that if any of its officers are ever charged and arrested by The ICC they will use force to obtain their release. This is nothing less than gangsterism.

The results of such justice will invariably be highly politicized show trials and victors’ justice, and it is indeed precisely what has occurred at the ICC since it was established.

COMMON DENOMINATORS IN US/NATO SUBVERSION STRATEGIES AND THE INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF IRREGULAR WARFARE AND SUBVERSION

There are certain common denominators that are part of every attempted subversion:

The establishment or presence of a foreign influence within the targeted nations.

The use of domestic elements, such as a minority political party, the use of dissenting political organizations, organizations that represent ethnic or cultural diversity, the use of militant opposition movements, ethnic and religious minorities, exile governments, terrorist organizations, and/or any other factors that can be used to either create or aggravate internal contests or struggles.

• The attempt to either overthrow a government or to destabilize the country sufficiently to justify an intervention under a pretext like countering terrorism or by use of perversions of international law like the responsibility to protect.

• The co-opting of geo-politically significant locations, access to resources and markets, and the denying of access to resources and markets for antagonistic nations or those who are siding with antagonistic nations.

INSTITUTIONALIZED SUBVERSION

As discussed above, NATO has since its 25th Summit in Chicago in 2012, made ”interventions”, which implies cooperation with illegitimate militant organizations, an integrated part of its official doctrine. xliii (ibid.)

The fact that NATO has made subversion the primary instrument for expansionism is further emphasized by the content of a Training Circular that is being used with the US Special Forces at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.

The Training Circular, TC 18-01, which is so sensitive that it is provided with a destruction notice that instructs owners of the document to destruct it by any possible means to prevent unauthorized dissemination, states among other:

” Training Circular (TC) 18-01, Special Forces Unconventional Warfare, defines the current United States (U.S.) Army Special Forces (SF) concept of planning and conducting Unconventional Warfare (UW) operations. For the foreseeable future U.S. Forces will predominantly engage in irregular warfare (IW) operations.

The intent of U.S. UW efforts is to exploit a hostile power´s political, military, economic, and psychological vulnerabilities by developing and sustaining resistance forces to accomplish U.S. strategic objectives.

Combat support includes all of the activities of indirect and direct support in addition to combat operations.

It is normal that a nation entertains special operations units for defense purposes. What makes the TC 18-01 and implicitly US/NATO military doctrine uniquely criminal, is that the TC 18-01 clearly states that the US will predominantly be fighting ”irregular wars” in the foreseeable future, and that it in the form of the TC 18-01 provides a step by step manual for manufacturing political opposition into dissent, dissent into resistance and terrorism, terrorism into insurgency, with the explicit goal to overthrow the legitimate government of a targeted, sovereign nation; with the explicitly expressed purpose to accomplish U.S. Strategic Objectives.

It can hardly be emphasized enough that the combination of the US/NATO´s illegal warfare, combined with interventions based on a presumed responsibility to protect a targeted population from the crisis which it itself manufactures, combined with an absolute and overt disregard for international law and the institutionalization of quasi judicial instruments, constitutes a direct road towards global tyranny. Global Tyranny is merely a less euphemistic synonym for U.S. Global Full Spectrum Dominance.

This quest for global tyranny is inherently opposed to any peaceful co-existence between sovereign nations. It  although is making use of ethnic diversity, opposed to ethnic tolerance, It is, also making use of human rights and slogans about democracy, inherently opposed to human rights, justice, and self-determination.

It has, since 2010 begun to intensify the targeting of

Nepal,

Burma,

Pakistan,

Thailand,

Lao,

Vietnam,

the DPRK,

and even its presumed ally, the Philippines with the purpose to create a crisis about the South China Sea.

INTENSIFIED IMPLEMENTATION OF US/NATO GLOBAL FULL SPECTRUM DOMINANCE IN ASIA

Nepal – The Exemplary Destruction of a Nation State, Sponsored by Soros. Nepal´s geo-political position, its richness in ethnic, religious, cultural and political diversity, and the fact that the targeting of Nepal is about to mature, makes Nepal a perfect model on which US/NATO subversion strategies can be explained. A closer look at Nepal lets us understand the modus operandi for US/NATO subversion so we are able to better recognize the red flags in other Asian nations.

NOW NEPAL, BUT WAIT WHEN R2P OR ‘HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION’ BEFALLS WHOLE OF ASIA

Until 2006 Nepal was governed more or less exclusively by the King and the Nepali royal family. It was until then one of the worlds oldest functioning monarchies. The royal family of Nepal had very good ties to both British and Danish royalty. In spite of its landlocked geo-political position in Asia, it was strongly oriented towards Europe. The position of Nepal as a European aligned Asian monarchy had its basis in post-colonial times. A subsequent cold war made Nepal a front-line state between the capitalist and the socialist blocks.

The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) became the ruling party during the Nepalese Constituent Assembly elections in 2008. The CPN(M) led a coalition government until May 4, 2009.

The Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) was previously the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), until it formally unified with the Communist Party of Nepal in January 2009, resulting in its full, current name: the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

Subsequent to the end of the cold war, and in fact with the transition towards a more open, joint venture based Chinese economy, the position of the royal Family and Nepal as post-colonial, cold-war front-line state became rapidly obsolete. European support for the monarchy dwindled and a long suppressed, legitimate popular demand for political, legal and social change became ever more outspoken.

From 1996 to 2006 the then illegal Maoist Party of Nepal fought a bitter rebellion against the monarchy. The rebellion succeeded due to the overwhelming support from the population in rural districts. In 2006 the rebellion resulted in political and legal reforms. After the first post-rebellion elections the Maoists held almost 40 % of the Constituent Assembly.

While the UK, other Western powers and India had responded to the rebellion with gravest concerns and somewhat ambivalent support for the old regime, the prospect of a Nepalese National Assembly in which the Maoist Party held almost 40 % of the seats and where other Communist parties were represented too provoked a much less ambivalent response.

ETHNICITY

The New Parliament embarked on the mission of re-organizing Nepal. The Maoist party envisioned a new model that was based on the distribution of power to local communities. A State Restructuring Commission was formed which should suggest how the old, centralized Nepal could delegate more political influence to the people, to regions and to communities.

Nepal is, although poor with respect to economy, extremely rich in culture and ethnicity, and until recently it also was rich in tolerance and respect for diversity. This ethnic diversity, however, was also a pure treasure trove for anyone, like the United Kingdom, the E.U., the USA, and Soros, but who would not accept a Nepal that had become so self-confident that it began implementing a foreign policy that did no longer accept dictates from the traditional and modo-colonial powers.

The population of Nepal is composed of over 100 ethnic minorities and over 300 castes. It is a situation that is potentially catastrophic for a nation that is being targeted by foreign influences who have centuries of experience in colonizing the world with the aid of the ”divide and conquer” strategy. What complicated the matter for Nepal and what makes it so easy to be taken advantage of is, that it is impossible to create regions along ethnic lines without creating new minorities in each of the federations regions. It is a situation much like that in Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina.

FEDERALISM

The Maoist Party originally intended to create a secular state with regions along community lines, with regional popular committees and administrations. Without focus on ethnicity, religion or castes. The question why the restructuring of Nepal went awry can be answered with two words; ”Foreign Interests”. We will even see that some of the names that were instrumental in carving up Yugoslavia and in creating ethnic violence in Bosnia have reappeared in Nepal.

FOREIGN INTERESTS, SOROS AND THE UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK TEAM

The Hungarian born multi-billionaire and self-proclaimed philanthropist George Soros is the main sponsor of the United Nations Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action, short FT. The FT has since 2006 become very active in Nepal. We will hear more about Soros when discussing the South China Sea and the International Crisis Group which he also sponsors, but for now let us focus on Nepal.

In Nepal, the United Nations is active with twenty-eight UN agencies and departments who are working directly under the superintendence of the Soros sponsored Framework Team in Nepal. xlv Among other are represented the IMF, FAO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNDP, UNODPC, UN-WFP, WHO, and the World Bank.

The UN Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action is led by the US-national Gay Rosenblum-Kumar. In Nepal it is represented by Ian Martin. Martin is known for having implemented ”Structural changes in other ”targeted nations”, including Bosnia Herzegovina and Cyrenaica, Libya. In both cases the helpful interventions of the FT and Ian Martin were correlated with considerable ethnic violence.

Besides its involvement in Bosnia and Nepal, the Framework team has over the last decade supported similar initiatives toward ”structural reforms and change” in Ecuador, Fiji, Lesotho, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guyana, Kenya where the US is currently aggressively trying to establish a stronger military footprint, Mauritania, the Maldives, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, where President Laurent Gbagbo was ousted with the help of the UN and France in 2010, in preparation for the war on Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Zimbabwe, where President Robert Mugabe implemented much needed post-colonial land reforms and who is one of the last remaining anti-imperialist African leaders. What each and every of these nations have in common is that they are being targeted for a move towards a foreign imposed federalism that throws the doors wide open for the UN/US/NATO alliances´ divide and conquer policy.

The Soros funded NGO NEFIN is advocating indigenous Nepali peoples rights, among other with respect to ”indigenous land ownership”. xlvi NEFIN is naturally advocating that every and each of the ethnic minorities in Nepal ”must” be granted equal access to the ownership of land.

As discussed above, Nepal is a nation with over 100 ethnic groups and over 300 castes. Implementing square inch justice in ethnically based land-ownership rights is utterly impossible, regardless whether Nepal implements a six or an eleven regions model. Even if it would subdivide each of eleven regions into numerous sub-regions there would still remain a basis for conflicts.

What Nepal experiences is a cynical attempt to divide the nation along ethnic lines and to create a deadlocked situation that will be exploded into an unstoppable cycle of violence whenever it is most opportune for those who have targeted the country. The victims are national unity, diversity, tolerance and respect, and the people of Nepal who are being railroaded into massacring one another.

Some ethnic based violence has already occurred in Nepal and it is systematically being aggravated under the pretense of humanitarian principles. Unless the Soros / UN Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action under Gay Rosenblum-Kumar and Ian Martin are opposed; unless the seeding of ethnic division by NEFIN, are opposed; it will merely be a question about what time would be the most convenient for the USA, UK, and NATO to aggravate a matured crisis to the extent that another ”humanitarian intervention” under the guise of an assumed ”responsibility to protect” will be ignited.

The following Asian countries are according to reliable sources also being targeted for ”balkanization” on the basis of ethnic and religious diversity by the Soros funded UN Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action:

Burma/Myanmar, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka.

Other Asian nations that are either being directly or indirectly targeted by Western power brokers, or which are being positioned into conflict with targeted nations include among other, Afghanistan, Georgia, Ossetia, Chechnya, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirghistan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Lao, and the Philippines.

The ongoing violent clashes between Buddhist and Muslim groups in Burma, the clashes between so called red shirts and yellow shirts in Thailand, the positioning of the Philippines for becoming a front line state in the containment of Chinese access to resources, transportation of resources and Chinese access to Asian markets.

The list of subversive activities is virtually inexhaustible.

This development should raise warning flags about the volatility, vulnerability and potential dangers the region will face, unless the US/NATO ambition for global, full spectrum dominance is challenged by the development of coherent and consistent national and regional strategies.

THE SOUTH CHINA SEA:

How could Soros and the International Crisis Group let a perfectly good Crisis be wasted without making use of it?

Much has been written and discussed of China’s “String of Pearls,” which refers to the ports that China has constructed or financed in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Burma, in exchange for commercial and military access rights.

The two biggest pearls are the Gwadar port in Pakistan and the Hamabotota port in Sri Lanka, . Chittagong in Bangladesh and Sittwe in Myanmar are two minor ports that are off the beaten track for China’s energy import sealanes. 

STRING OF PEARLS.

A 2006 study for the U.S. Army by Christopher J. Pehrson, called ”String of Pearls: Meeting the Challenge of China´s Rising Power Across the Asian Littoral” xlvii demonstrates the US/NATO´s condescending, modo-colonialist and ethnocentric perception of Asia as ”their” backyard, ”their repository of resources” and ”their markets that are being threatened by China”. It analyzes Chinese markets in the region as ”China´s String of Pearls”, that threatens US/NATO modo-colonial hegemony and primacy.

The nature and content of this military commissioned study demonstrate explicitly that even nations who align themselves with US/NATO foreign policy are potential targets for aggression and subversion unless these nations actively participate in the strategic encirclement of China, in denying China access to resources and markets. So much to the situation in general terms.

Washington’s bull-in-a-china shop behavior pays no heeds to the realities in Asia. Instead, Washington demonizes faithful old ally like Pakistan while supporting Afghanistan’s Communists and drug dealers, and allowing India to stir the Afghan pot – all for the sake of new energy pipelines.

As Henry Kissinger cynically noted, being America’s ally is more dangerous than being its enemy.

SOROS’ INTERNATIONAL CRISIS GROUP STIRRING UP THE SOUTH CHINA SEA

With respect to the territorial dispute about areas in the South China Sea, between the Philippines and China, a recent report by the European, Soros Funded, International Crisis Group, ICG, is revealing US/NATO´s strategy. xlviii

While the ICG is overtly claiming to be working on crisis resolution, the report has in fact to be understood as an analysis of, how the crisis can be managed to secure the best possible outcome for the modo-colonial and globalist powers.

An analysis of the report reveals that the strategy that is being discussed, among other, contains the following elements:

• Attempts to infiltrate or influence Chinese military structures to create inter-services competition.

• Attempts to influence the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create disputes between the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Defense, and Military Services

• Aggravating rivalry between the Chinese Maritime Forces and Law Enforcement agencies with maritime capabilities and duties, about the allocation of resources, competencies, roles, and responsibilities with respect to the South China Sea.

• If possible, the creation of conflict between the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and the Interior.

• Creation of regional rivalries by creating the above mentioned conflicts, facilitated by the fact that high level Chinese law enforcement officers, military officers, and their likes have ties to regional political structures and interests in China.

• Systematic defamation of China´s claims to sovereignty over parts of the South China Sea. The defamation will be based on referring to ”China´s Nationalist Ambitions”, on fear-mongering due to the fact that the so-called nine-dashed line that appears on Chinese maps encompasses most of the South China Sea, the interpretation of the fact that the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, UNCLOS, supports Chinese claims is denounced as Chinese nationalism.

• Creating Mistrust to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so that regional partners may perceive reassurances and negotiated settlements by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign affairs as not trustworthy.

• Undermining the credibility of Chinese Diplomacy by exaggerating inter ministerial conflicts or conflicts of interests between military and ministry.

• Defamation of Chinese diplomacy at ASEAN and the seeding of doubt whether China is willing, or based on domestic politics able, to implement the Declaration of Conduct in the South China Sea.

• The creation of mistrust within ASEAN, whether China is willing to, or if the Chinese government is able, to adhere to the ASEAN six-point-principles accord about the South China Sea, even though China assures that the principles are in accord with China´s policy on the South China Sea settlement. xlix

• Using the creation of doubts, whether the Chinese government is capable of controlling eventual unauthorized, unilateral action by regional Chinese military or law-enforcement services as pretext to increase the US/NATO military footprint in the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Lao, and Thailand.

• Using the same arguments to pressure the government of Australia to increase military spending on maritime “defense” forces.

• The positioning of China as a hegemonic nation with ambitions to dominate the region politically and militarily, to prevent China´s access to markets and resources, and to create an atmosphere of mistrust towards Chinese initiatives for joint ventures, political, economical cooperation.
The positioning of China as nationalist military power with regional ambitions for dominance to sow mistrust that subverts regional, bilateral and multilateral initiatives towards security.

Others could be added, and the International Crisis Group is far from the sole player involved in what could best be described as careful, preparatory initiatives that weaken China politically, economically and militarily in preparation of a long-planned confrontation of Russia and China.

THE DETERIORATION OF THE GENEVA CONVENTION

The Geneva Convention xxxiv comprises four treaties and additional three protocols that establish standards of international law for the humanitarian treatment of victims and participants of war. It was updated to its current version in 1949, following two wars of global reach and unspeakable violence and it is thus, like the Treaty of Westphalia, a reaction to unspeakable acts of violence and human suffering, that has affected large populations.

The Geneva Convention defines the wartime rights of both civilian and military prisoners, affords protection of the wounded, and establishes protections for civilians in war zones. It also specifies the rights and protections that are afforded to non-combatants. Since the onset of the US-led “war on terror” in 2001 the Geneva convention has been systematically undermined by the USA as well as other NATO countries.

These systematic erosions of the Geneva convention include:

• The illegitimate use of the term “unlawful combatants”xxxv and the indefinite imprisonment of prisoners of war in places like Guantanamo and outside the required norms of the Geneva Conventions.

• The used of the term “enhanced interrogation techniques” xxxvi is an attempt to legitimize unspeakable acts of torture, including water-boarding, sensory deprivation, forced positions, religious chicane, hours of forced positions during sensory deprivation together with making the prisoners subject to white noise, blindfolding, extreme temperatures as well as sheer physical brutality and even death.

• The use of the term “Extraordinary Rendition” xxxvii that is the kidnapping and disappearance of both combatants and non-combatants. As in Operation Condor conducted by the USA and its vassals in South America against leftists and progressives in the 70s and 80s when people simply disappeared.

Extraordinary rendition is a term used to cover over the fact that people are delivered to third countries who apply torture or “enhanced interrogation techniques” or to people who are simply murdered. Extraordinary Rendition is also covered by the provisions of the Nuremberg Principles.

• Summary executions of prisoners of war on the battlefield and the the delivery of combatants and non-combatants alike to allied but irregular forces, knowing that the prisoners of war will be massacred as it happened in several instances in Afghanistan.

• The delivery of prisoners of war to criminal courts, that is US military tribunals, for prosecution for “terrorism”.

And it does not stop there. The list of outrages against the Geneva Conventions would fill volumes. The results of this systematic violation of international law are outrages like those at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib.

The renown social psychologist Phillip G. Zimbardo Ph.D, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University, xxxviii who was working as expert for the defense of some of the soldiers who committed the outrages in Abu Ghraib, stated that the appalling acts of torture at Abu Ghraib were not the result of “a few rotten apples among the troops”, as claimed by former US Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, but that they were the products of a carefully manufactured situation, where high level military and political cadre had to know that the outcome invariably would be torture and abuse. xxxix

The obvious danger of these systematic violations of international law is that it creates precedence and escalates the spiral of violence and abuse rather than defusing a conflict.

The irony is that this systematic violation of international law is being implemented by those nations who are claiming to wage wars as the vanguard of law, human rights, freedom, democracy and justice.

THE HAGUE CONVENTIONS

The Hague Conventions xl consist of two treaties and regulate among other things, legality of war, declarations of war and surrender, use of legal and illegitimate weapons, military conduct, command structures and command responsibility for prevention and punishment of crimes by subordinates..

Article one of the first chapter of the Hague Convention of 1909 states, that the laws, rights and duties of war not only apply to armies, but also to militia and volunteer corps and require those forces fulfill the following conditions:

To be commanded by a person who is responsible for his subordinates, to have a fixed distinctive emblem visible at a distance, to carry arms openly, and to conduct their operations in accordance to the customs of war. In countries where militia or volunteer corps constitute the army, or part of it, they are included under the denomination “army”.

They also include inhabitants of a territory which has not been occupied, who spontaneously take up arms to resist the invading troops without having had time to organize themselves in accordance with article one if they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war.

The coining of the term “unlawful-combatant” is designed to try to evade the provisions of the Hague Convention, which clearly specifies that a population has the right to armed resistance against an aggressor’s military forces.

The use of mercenary forces, like the use of 20,000 mercenaries of the Al-Qaeda associated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group in the attempted subversion of Syria xli erodes the concept of command responsibility. It provides the USA/NATO with a loophole that lets them commit the most serious acts of terrorism, massacres and military barbarism, while NATO´s military leadership as well as members of Ministries of Defense and NATO members governments enjoy “plausible deniability” for their command decisions. Or so they think, because it is clear in international law that the fact that US officers have real command responsibility, that is effective command and control, over these mercenaries would mean their conviction for war crimes if they could ever be brought before an international tribunal.

Let alone the fact that the USA reserves for itself the right not to make it´s citizens, including military personnel subject to the International Criminal Court at The Hague, while demanding the prosecution of citizens of nations which are in opposition to US/NATO hegemony, this illegal use of mercenary forces is a systematic circumvention of the Hague Conventions as mercenaries are forbidden by the International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries from 4 December 1989. xlii

The use of mercenaries has been widely implemented since the war on Yugoslavia and in both the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq and the trend is going towards an increase in their use under the euphemism “private contractors” as if they are construction workers, to fulfill military tasks.

These mercenaries do not obey the rules or customs of war.

On the other hand, members of the militia who legally resist US/NATO occupation are often being turned over to police authorities of a government that has been installed with the help of the US/NATO, and can be sentenced to long prison terms or execution because the affordance of the protection under the Hague Conventions is being circumvented.

THE USE OF CIA PERSONNEL FOR MILITARY OPERATIONS

The USA is increasingly making use of unmanned aerial vehicles for both observation as well as for kinetic military actions. None of the CIA´s Gameboy Killers in Langley, Virginia is operating within a legal military command structure. Regardless if a drone attack is targeting resistance fighters, so-called terrorists, or if the Gameboy Killers at Langley blow the bride and groom of a wedding party in Pakistan or Somalia to kingdom come, any an all of these drone attacks are a circumvention of the Hague Conventions.

Chapter two of the Hague Conventions states that prisoners of war are in the power of the hostile government and not in the hands of the individuals or corps that capture them.

Both the use of private military contractors and the use of allied or state sponsored mercenary forces, including Al Qaeda brigades are a breach of the Hague Conventions.

In Syria we are, at the time of this writing, witnessing the wide spread torture and summary executions of captured Syrian military personnel. Western intelligence personnel have been captured after firing into peaceful demonstrations with sniper rifles to enrage the demonstrators against the Syrian police and government. Non of them was operating under the Hague Conventions and violations against a cohort of international laws and conventions have been committed by the assassins of peaceful demonstrators.

EXTRAJUDICIAL EXECUTIONS AND ASSASSINATIONS

The corruption of the US domestic and military legal systems and the violations of the US Constitution has resulted in the extraordinary situation that the American president not only has abolished the ancient right of habeas corpus but now claims the right of a tyrant, the claimed right to effect the extrajudicial assassination, that is the murder of both US citizens and citizens of any other nation, anywhere in the world who he claims to be a “threat”..

In fact, President Barak Obama takes pride in personally making life and death decisions by determining whether the one or the other individual shall be targeted for assassination. Death has become his plaything, like an American Caligula.

Notwithstanding the audacity and arrogance of signing this practice into “law”, no executive order, and no approval by the corrupted congress of the USA can establish any basis in international law for this practice. Each and every assassination is in fact nothing but premeditated murder.

These extrajudicial executions and assassinations are a stark warning of what of” human rights”, “civil liberties” “freedom”, “democracy” and “justice” now mean in the United States of America and NATO in practice as opposed to what they preach.

PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY FOR ACTS OF BARBARISM

• It would be possible to write volumes about the problems that arise. The shortest way of describing what the US is practicing by systematically circumventing international law is to sum it up as follows:

• The systematic circumvention of international law.

• The systematic circumvention of legal responsibility for illegal acts of war.

• The systematic circumvention of human rights, civil liberties and the systematic implementation of torture, institutionalization of terrorism and massacres on civilian, military, combatants and non-combatants.

• A return to barbarism in war and to wars of aggression, that is crimes against peace, unrestrained in their ferocity and cruelty.

All that, and more, under the pretext of freedom, democracy, the responsibility to protect, human rights or war on terrorism. No act of terrorism is in fact shied away from, such as the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists, the murder of Muammar Ghadafi President Milosevic, President Saddam Hussein, President Habyrimana and countless others.

THE DETERIORATION OF THE PRINCIPLES ENSHRINED IN THE TREATY OF WESTPHALIA AND NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY

Many of these principles and laws were implemented after unspeakable human suffering. Unless this regression into global barbarism is opposed by all necessary popular, political, diplomatic, economical, legal, and if necessary military means, humanity will descend into a state of global barbarism and unspeakable outrages. The most serious deteriorations over the past two decades are:

THE DETERIORATION OF THE PRINCIPLES ENSHRINED IN THE TREATY OF WESTPHALIA AND NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY

The treaty of Westphalia xxii was one of the international legal principles that was used as a guideline for the drafting of the Charter of the United Nations and it is by many considered as thé most important principle of international law with respect to the regulation of bi-lateral and multilateral diplomacy and politics. 

RESPONSIBIITY2PROTECT HAS NO MORAL AND LEGAL JUSTIFICATION. ITS PURE ‘MIGHT IS RIGHT’

The principle of non-interference into domestic affairs and the principle of national sovereignty enshrined in the UN Charter is increasingly being challenged by those who argue, that is the Americans, that the “international community”, again that is the Americans, has a “responsibility to protect” civilians in cases where the government of a sovereign state is not able to protect its citizens, or when the government of a sovereign state is committing severe violations of other principles such as human rights. A resolution that implemented the responsibility to protect was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2009, in violation of the UN Charter. xxiii

This false responsibility was first termed humanitarian intervention, but it appears that that term could only be used in propaganda when a crisis was already in progress.

The slogan responsibility to protect was coined in order to give this strategy more flexibility so that “intervention” could be used even before the US had succeeded in creating a crisis.

The ”responsibility to protect” (R2P) also had the advantage of claiming to make a moral argument, of course never addressing how the USA came to claim this “responsibility” or why it operates only against its enemies and never its vassals and allies.

Although the guiding arguments for the primacy of human rights and the responsibility to protect “R2P” may sound convincing at first inspection, a closer analysis reveals that the erosion of national sovereignty based on the R2P opens a Pandora´s Box of serious problems.

The first instance where the R2P, which was then still termed humanitarian intervention, was used to override national sovereignty was NATO´s intervention into the internal affairs of Yugoslavia during the Clinton Administration in which the Secretary of State was Madeleine Albright.

It is now a well established and documented fact that the internal conflict in Yugoslavia was initially manufactured by an alliance of Slovenian and Croatian separatists with ties to WWII German National Socialism, with the covert support of the German government and the German Intelligence Service BND xxiv, and the Vatican. The German intelligence service BND provided the first weapons, second-hand Bulgarian AK 47 assault rifles, to Slovenian and Croat separatists.

As the conflict escalated and the country was forced apart along ethnic, and religious lines, the USA and other Western powers became increasingly involved, resulting in NATO´s “intervention” in fact its outright aggression against the Federal Republic, without approval from the United Nations Security Council and in complete violation of the UN Charter and NATO’s own Charter.

NATO member states cooperated with a wide variety of terrorist organizations, including Al Qaeda and Bin Laden’s Mujahideen. xxv The USA financed, trained, and was arming the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA/UCK) which was heavily supported by Al Qaeda brigades and which to a large extend was financed by the Heroin trade and trafficking from Afghanistan to Europe and Northern America. xxvi, xxvii

The war on and dismemberment of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has according to retired French Brigadier General Pierre Marie Gallois been planned and prepared by European powers in unofficial meetings on a farm in Germany since 1976; more than a decade ahead of the first public Slovenian and Croatian demands for secession from Yugoslavia. Brig. Gen. Pierre Marie Gallois was the French representative to these meetings and has disclosed many of the details in a stunning interview. xxviii, xxix

According to Gallois, one of the principle motivating factors for the covert and subsequent overt war on Yugoslavia was that Yugoslavia was the sole Russian ally in the Balkan region and the last functioning socialist state in Europe. Other motivating factors were that Germany wanted to re-establish its geo-political influence in the region which it had lost subsequent to world wars one and two. Yet another factor was to define a post cold war role for NATO. In fact, so the former French Brigadier General, the war on Yugoslavia provided the model for the war on Iraq and subsequent wars.(ibid.) xxx

The sole correlation between the intervention in Yugoslavia and Serbia, and the still ongoing NATO occupation of Kosovo and human rights is, that a humanitarian crisis was cynically manufactured with the intention to create a pretext for a military “intervention” in fact a military attack, based on the “R2P” the claimed responsibility to protect.

The usurpation by the United States of the role of the United Nations by arrogantly claiming to itself this invented responsibility has resulted in the deterioration of the principles of the Treaty of Westphalia and the UN Charter that both guarantee the sovereignty of nations and the concomitant right of the self determination of peoples.

It is is nothing less than western colonialism once again justified by the “white man’s burden”. In a recent article, Dr. Henry Kissinger discussed whether nations like Syria and other Arab nations would at all qualify for protection against interference into their internal affairs under the principles of the Treaty of Westphalia. xxxi

Kissinger argues, that almost all Arab nations, with the exclusion of eventually Iran, Turkey and Egypt, were nations whose borders had been more or less arbitrarily drawn by former colonial powers and that it was therefore questionable whether they could be defined as nation states that would be protected by the provisions in the Treaty of Westphalia. Iran, Turkey, and Egypt on the other hand, so Kissinger argues, had a long history as nations.

Lehmann has written an article in response to that of Dr. Kissinger. According to Lehmann, Kissinger´s interpretation is representative of the condescending, ethnocentric, colonialist attitude of Western nations towards countries world wide. It is also symptomatic for the social constructionism that guides Western foreign politics. While Kissinger questions the national sovereignty of almost all Arab nations on the basis that their borders were arbitrarily drawn by former colonial powers, he does not mention Israel, whose borders have been arbitrarily drawn by the same former colonial powers. xxxii

Neither does he mention the fact that the United States itself is also an artificial creation resulting from the extermination of the native peoples, the Louisiana Purchase of the south from France in 1803, and Florida from Spain, the War of 1812 against Canada, the war of conquest against Mexico in 1846, the war between two nations the United States and the Confederates states, known as the Civil War in the 1860s and the artificial extensions into Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

The most recent example of a successful abuse of the erosion of national sovereignty under the pretense of a manufactured Responsibility to Protect is NATO´s abuse of UNSC Resolution 1973 (2011) on Libya. xxxiii

It can be argued that this Resolution never existed as the UN Charter requires that resolutions have the concurring votes of all permanent members of the Security Council. Russia and China abstained. An abstention is not a concurrent vote. It may be that Russia and China expected that the abstentions were enough to kill the resolution from being passed. Legally they were correct, but regardless whether Russia and China were taking a calculated Risk, or whether Russia, which was then under the presidency of Medvedyev was trying to appease the USA/NATO, which would have left China to deal with the impact of the US and NATO and GCC member states as well as Israel alone, will only be answered by future historical analysis.

What is certain, however, is that both the Russian and Chinese political leadership must have been aware that even though a UNSC resolution arguably is not legally valid unless all Security Council members vote in favor of it, it is a long established political practice that only a veto is sufficient for blocking an intervention. Since the first Russian, then USSR, abstention on UNSC Resolution 4 (1946) on Spain, an abstention has interpreted as not preventing the adoption of the resolution.

The claim that the USA, France and the UK abused the UN Charter was compounded when the US and its allies exceeded even the terms of their own resolution and conducted a war of aggression against Libya. A repetition of this abuse, directed against Syria, has so far been successfully stopped by Russia and China at the Security Council who since have consequently vetoed resolutions on Syria.

When the media images were analyzed without the constant stream of suggestions and when reasonable objectivity was applied one could think clearly, use analytic skills, discernment, discrimination, and first of all, simple laws of Newtonian Physics rather than a hypnotic stream of words – Al Qaeda Bin Laden……. terrorist….. war on terror…..with us or with the terrorists …..

ANALYZING THE 9/11 TRUTH

With a clear mind, and in many cases after getting over the initial shock, pertinent questions were raised:

• How could a passenger plane, even if it was fully fueled, even if it was flying at impossible air-speeds for an altitude near sea level, cause other than a hole in the building, a fire, and eventually a partial collapse ?

• How could two buildings literally be “pulverized” to hundred of thousands of cubic yards of fine dust particles, by a mechanically caused structural failure ? How could a gravity driven collapse ever produce the necessary kinetic energy ? How could a gravity driven collapse hurl steel girders vertically through the air at speeds exceeding 6o miles per second ?

• Studies of original “official” photo images or at high resolution video images clearly shows that the building neither collapsed nor pancaked. Both WTC towers literally disintegrated in front of our eyes into pyroclastic flows that otherwise only can be observed in eruptions of volcanoes and in the most powerful explosions. xii How could a gravity driven collapse produce dust clouds engulfing major parts of lower Manhattan Island ?

• The disintegration of the WTC Twin Towers were the equivalent to a tree that is being hit by a projectile. A brief fire emerges in the cavity that is caused by the projectile. For arguments sake let us say that there emerges a fire of intense heat in that cavity. Shortly afterward, however, the entire tree begins turning itself to the finest possible saw-dust, from the top and down to the roots. Gravity driven collapse ? How could even steel literally evaporate in front of our eyes ?

• How could a passport of one of the supposed hijackers survive the inferno of the plane impact, fly out of his pocket, through the fireball, through the building that turned itself to dust, and how could it land in almost pristine condition in the streets below, where it would be found -when not even a single telephone, not a single filing cabinet, not a single PC survived the disintegration.

• How could two planes cause the collapse of three WTC buildings ? What processes caused the disintegration and pulverization of concrete and steel while all the paper – which does not contain water – survived and littered the streets of New York ?

• How could the Pentagon be hit by a passenger plane ? Even if one is deeply asleep, the mere words “A HIJACKED PASSENGER PLANE HIT THE PENTAGON” should wake one up in “Chock and Awe! A man in a cave in Afghanistan, so we are supposed to believe, had succeeded at defeating the world’s mightiest, most sophisticated defense systems. Three times within one day! A cumbersome, hijacked passenger plane entering the world´s most jealously guarded and protected air-space at the Pentagon and near the White House unimpeded ?

It would be possible to add a thousand more unanswered and pertinent questions to the ones above. Many of them have in fact been answered by responsible citizens and scholars who dared to risk their tenure in countries where free intellectual inquiry does no longer exist unless the inquirer remains within the guidelines of politicized science. All, off course, in the name of the “freedom and democracy” which is being exported on a global scale, so the citizens of Russia and China soon also can be liberated like those poor Afghans, Iraqis, Libyans.

Thousands of questions – but it is not the purpose of this article to answer them nor even to demand answers. The most important question has long been answered by the Bush and the Following Obama Administration. The question is “What Function did the mass murder on 9/11 have?”.

The answer was provided by some of the above mentioned policy groups, PNAC. And it was provided one full year before the events that shocked the world and initiated the push for global US, full spectrum dominance. A catastrophic and catalyzing event, a new “Pearl Harbour” that would facilitate a rapid change in US domestic and foreign policy towards a Pax Americana.(ibid.) xiii

“Whether You are with US or not, You are with The Terrorists”.

On 20 September 2001, nine days after 9/11 US-President G.W. Bush addressed the joint session of the US Congress, outlining the new global front-lines, stating: “Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists”. xiv Had the USA then intended to wage an honest war on terrorism, it would in fact have had the support of every nation on this world, with maybe one exception, Israel.

The government of Afghanistan, in fact, stated that it would render Osama bin Laden to the USA if the USA provided evidence for his involvement in 9/11. xv The USA denied. The true meaning of the words of President G.W. Bush could be described as:

“Whether you are with US or not, you are with the terrorists”.

The USA did not at any time suspend its long standing co-operation with terrorists organizations throughout the world for other than cosmetic or strategic purposes, and that included the main pretext for the “War on Terror”, Al Qaeda. As we speak, the USA is co-operating with Al-Qaeda brigades in the ongoing subversion attempt in Syria. xvi

A whistle blower from within the US Special Forces at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina had already in September 2011 admitted that the USA had special forces on the ground in Syria and cooperated with Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood brigades as part of a long-planned war on Libya, Syria, Lebanon and Iran. xvii

Meanwhile, organizations that are fighting a legitimate struggle for liberation, like the PFLP xviii, DFLP xix and to a degree Al-Fatah in Palestine are designated terrorist organizations. Syria, which is the sole Arab nation that consequently and consistently has supported Palestinians’ legitimate struggle against the Zionist/Israeli occupation of Palestine is according to the US State Department designated a state sponsor of terrorism. xx

During the height of the invasion of Libya, when the Libyan military forces caused heavy casualties among the hordes of Libyan, Egyptian, Qatari, Saudi and other nations Al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood associated mercenary brigades, the CIA imported 1.500 fighters from Mazare-e-Sharif, Afghanistan xxi , who belonged to the very Taliban which NATO is fighting there.

The US War on Terror has from the very onset been and still is a cynical part of the US low cost strategy towards global full spectrum dominance.

It is also a text book like example for why social constructionism within the language of political discourse can be used to justify any crime as long as it serves one’s own interests, how it can be used to scapegoat legitimate resistance as terrorist organizations, and why a teleological approach to the language of political discourse is the sole linguistic approach that can facilitate truth, reconciliation and conflict resolution.

THE DISMANTLING OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND A RETURN TO GLOBAL BARBARISM

In recent decades an unprecedented deterioration, one can say a “collapse” of international law has occurred. This deterioration is driven by the US and NATO, and its refusal to abide by long-established legal principles of international law in all its aspects; peaceful coexistence, human rights, military conduct and others, which have been established over hundreds of years.

A geo-political analysis of the background for the developments in the South-China Sea region, and suggested developments towards regional security and stability.

Subsequent to the dissolution of the USSR, the peaceful transition of Hong Kong from British to Chinese sovereignty and the subsequent opening of the Chinese market for Western investors, a superficial analysis may lead to the conclusion that the international community has missed the chance to establish a geo-political climate that could have facilitated the peaceful coexistence of sovereign nations.

However, on closer inspection, it is evident that it is a fallacy to speak in terms of a missed chance. The chance for peaceful coexistence between China, the USA, and to a lesser degree the E.U., has in fact never been given a real chance.

9/11: THE GROUNDWORK TO LAUNCH THE PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY

It is also a fallacy to conclude that this chance depended on a left/right paradigm in US and Western politics. From neo-conservative think tanks like the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) i, to left or liberal organizations like those funded by the multi-billionaire George Soros, which include Human Rights Watch and the International Crisis Group ii, to global strategists like Zbigniev Brzezinski iii, national security adviser for multiple US-Administrations, whose declared goal is to engage both Russia and subsequently China in a military confrontation iv, the operand question is not whether a left/right paradigm determines the overall direction of US foreign policy but rather how the left/right paradigm manifests in strategic nuances in overall US foreign policy which has a clear propensity towards a Pax Americana and American, global, full spectrum dominance.

The term “Global” is to be taken literally. This policy includes ambitions for a re-colonization of Africa and the Middle East, the destabilization of Latin America, and countering recent developments such as ALBA, UNASUR and MERCOSUR, countering developments within BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization SCO, a presence in Afghanistan until 2025 and beyond, destabilization of Pakistan, the destabilization of Nepal and Burma and an increased military presence in Thailand, Vietnam and throughout the Asian and Pacific region.

It includes the destabilization of Russia´s and China´s southern borders, and an increased military footprint, in those regions and support of destabilizing influences, such as militia and terrorist organizations. v

And it includes the provocation of conflicts in South East Asia and the South East China Sea, an aggressive policy towards Northern Korea and the derailing of attempts towards reunification on the Korean peninsula.

It further includes denying Russia and China access to resources necessary for the development of their economies and their partnership based trade models that are inherently opposed to Western, imperialist capitalism and denying resources and markets to a system that is far more successful, humane, just, fair and sustainable.

The failing of the US/EU economies has required the western military doctrine be adjusted to a return to nuclear confrontation for the containment of unmanageable military responses to NATO expansionism by Russia and China, combined with low cost mercenary warfare with the aid of Al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, in fact any militant or terrorist organization that can be utilized in the creation of national and regional crisis which are created to destabilize nations and to justify aggression as “interventions” under pretexts like human rights, security or the the slogan “responsibility to protect”.

These two doctrines, nuclear confrontation and use of mercenaries to attack from within are what one could call the post 25th NATO Summit military doctrine of Western powers and both are in violation of the UN Charter. vi

It is necessary to understand the US/NATO strategy of subversion in South East Asia and how a deterioration of national and regional security due to this subversion could be prevented, and in fact, how peaceful regional solutions to the challenge of US/NATO ambitions for global full spectrum dominance can be established. To understand this strategy it is necessary to undertake a brief review of the developments of recent years in global security.

This analysis will provide a disturbingly clear outline of what is in store for South East Asia and greater Asia unless such a solution is achieved through negotiation and then crafted and implemented.

ODYSSEY 2001 – A WAKE UP UP CALL

In 2001 the world was chocked by a globally televised terror attack of unprecedented proportions and audacity. World wide, a shocked people saw the three towers of the World Trade Center only two of which were actually hit by a plane disintegrate, the Pentagon on fire. World-wide, captive TV audiences saw supposedly hijacked passenger planes crash into buildings, people in their hundreds plummeting to certain death.

Sympathy was outpouring from even the most unexpected of places like Palestine. A visibly shocked, shaken, and appalled PLO Secretary General, Yassir Arafat expressed his deepest condolences, sympathy and even solidarity with the nation that had for decades financed the Zionist/Israeli genocide on the people of Palestine.

It took only minutes after the second plane hit the WTC towers, however, before it transpired that something was not quite as advertized. Re-analyzing the TV-coverage archives vii of the day is in deed a revealing odyssey in mass manipulation.

Recycled TV images were aired and it was claimed that “Palestinians were celebrating the successful terror attack on the USA”. A “terrorism expert” declared only minutes after the initial attacks that the most likely suspect would be a “terrorist organization like the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine – DFLP”. viii

Soon the first planted evidence was “discovered”, like a terrorists passport that was found in almost pristine condition in the street after it supposedly had flown out of the hijackers pocket, survived the plane impact, the fireball, and landed in the streets below. ix The Al-Qaeda / Bin Laden narrative was born.

Those who were awake enough from day one, who realized that something was suspect, soon realized that the attacks were the new Peal Harbor, the catastrophic and catalyzing event which one year prior to the attacks had been described in a white paper of the neo-conservative think-tank PNAC, called “Rebuilding Americas Defences”. x

Even though expert analysts differ with respect to whether rogue elements of the international Western deep state let it happen on purpose or if they made it happen on purpose, all serious analysts, including high level politicians, diplomats, members of the intelligence communities and scholars world wide agree that 9/11 was the initiation of the Project for Global, Full Spectrum US/NATO Dominance as described in PNAC´s white paper. (ibid.) xi

There were indeed signs enough from day one, and those who were trained enough in recognizing and analyzing social engineering and propaganda strategies would review the news images – without the sound of the talking heads who repeated the new mantra of global war.

Divide and conquer. That is the oldest trick in the book for tyrants to use on the unsuspecting population as they attempt to hide their evil agendas in plain sight. REPUBLICANS VS. DEMOCRATS: NOTHING BUT A GAME OF MUSICAL CHAIRS

Back during the George W. Bush neocon regime, President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela in his UN speech summed up George W. Bush for the world. I am quoting Chavez from memory, not verbatim.

“Yesterday standing at this same podium was Satan himself, speaking as if he owned the world. You can still smell the sulfur.”

Chavez is one of the American right-wing’s favorite bogyman, because Chavez helps the people instead of bleeding them for the rich, which is Washington’s way. While Washington has driven all but the one percent into the ground, Chavez has cut poverty in half, doubled university enrollment, and provided health care and old age pensions to millions of Venezuelans for the first time.

Little wonder he was elected to a third term as president despite the many millions of dollars Washington poured into the election campaign of Chavez’s opponent.

While Washington and the EU preach neoliberalism–the supremacy of capital over labor–South American politicians who reject Washington’s way are being elected and reelected in Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia.

It was the Ecuadoran government, not Washington, that had the moral integrity to grant political asylum to WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange. The only time Washington grants asylum is when it can be used to embarrass an opponent.

In contrast to the leadership that is emerging in South America as more governments there reject the traditional hegemony of Washington, the US political elite, whether Republican or Democrat, are aligned with the rich against the American people.

The Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, has promised to cut taxes on the rich, taxes which are already rock bottom, to block any regulation of the gangsters in the financial arena, and to privatize Social Security and Medicare.

Privatizing Social Security and Medicare means to divert the people’s tax dollars to the profits of private corporations. In Republican hands, privatization means only one thing: to cut the people’s benefits and to use the people’s tax dollars to increase the profits in the private sector. Romney’s policy is just another policy that sacrifices the people to the one percent.

Unfortunately, the Democrats, if a lessor evil, are still an evil. There is no reason to vote for the reelection of a president who codified into law the Bush regime’s destruction of the US Constitution, who went one step further and asserted the power to murder US citizens without due process of law, and who has done nothing to stop the exploitation of the American people by the one percent.

As Gerald Celente says in the Autumn Issue of the Trends Journal, when confronted with the choice between two evils, you don’t vote for the lessor evil. You boycott the election and do not vote. “Lessor or greater, evil is evil.”

If Americans had any sense, no one would vote in the November election. Whoever wins the November election, it will be a defeat for the American people.

An Obama or Romney win stands in stark contract with Chavez’s win. Here is how Lula da Silva, the popular former president of Brazil summed it up: “Chavez’s victory is a victory for all the peoples of Latin America. It is another blow against imperialism.” Washington, making full use of the almighty dollar, was unable to buy the Venezuelan election.

How will a Romney or Obama win be summed up? The answer will be in terms of which candidate is best for Israel’s interest; which is best for Wall Street’s interest, which is best for agribusiness; which is most likely to attack Iran; which is most likely to subject economic and war protesters to indefinite detention as domestic extremists; which is most likely to screw the American people in order to benefit the ruling oligarchy.

The only people who will benefit from the election of either Romney or Obama are those associated with the private oligarchies that rule America.

So the poor electorate are at the mercy of the two, who are working on the same agenda i.e. fattening profits of the big sharks like US corporate and multinationals. Unfortunately they are doing this at the cost of the welfare of the common tax payers of America.

In contrast to this there are rays of hope coming from the Southern hemisphere [of America].

There were times when the countries in South America (just like Pakistan) were being usurped by dictatorships of one army general or the other. As usual all these putsches were instigated by the US hegemonists. However, good news is that winds of progress are now blowing in the hemisphere. By and large the countries of the South are coming out of the clutches of Washington.

The governments there are gradually being taken over by genuine representatives of the peoples, [Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia]. This inspite of the fact that US through her overt as well as covert conduits has poured in millions of dollars to thwart election/re-election of leaders who are a genuine choice of their peoples.

How have they done it and why couldn’t we do this in Pakistan? The answer lies in the very basic requisite for such a revolutionary change in the polity of nations i.e. if leaders start living like their people, the people too show their complete solidarity to strengthen the hands of their popular leaders (as the masses have done in the recent elections in Venezuela).

Its a tacit reply to those in Pakistan who say how can a country like Pakistan face the mighty wrath of the United States? But dear readers, as we see, the poor, the havenots of the hemisphere have done it. This in spite of the stark reality, that all these countries were in far more deplorable condition than in Pakistan. And mind this readers, these countries geographically are at a too close proximity to the mighty United States, yet they are seeing eye to eye with the US hegemonists, Why? To find a still more pertinent reply to this pivotal question, I approached Poet of the East and he said:

The splendour of a monarch great is worthless for the free and bold:
Where lies the grandeur of a king, whose riches rest on borrowed gold?

You pin your faith on idols vain and turn your back on Mighty God:
If this is not unbelief and sin, what else is unbelief and fraud?

Luck favours the fool and the mean, and exalts and lifts to the skies
Only those who are base and low and know not how to patronize.

One look from the eyes of the Fair can make a conquest of the heart:
There is no charm in the fair sweet, If it lacks this alluring art.

I am a target for the hate of the mighty rich and the great,
As I know the end of Caesars great and know the freaks of luck or fate.

To be a person great and strong is the end and aim of all;
But that rank is not real and true that is attained by the ego’s fall.

A man of the people: The president of Uruguay, José Mujica, has earned a nickname, “el presidente mas pobre” (translation: “poorest president”). The 77-year-old recently admitted to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo that he donates almost all of his presidential salary, making him the poorest, or, as Univision pointed out, most generous president, in the world.

El presidente explained he receives $12,500 a month but keeps only $1,250. The public servant told the newspaper, “I do fine with that amount; I have to do fine because there are many Uruguayans who live with much less.”
