Wow so this is actually going to go down in history for me.
It might end up being one of them things that you have to be there to understand fully how funny it was but I’m gonna do my best trying to explain.

We was at Neyo’s afterparty dancing away as you do. My friend Paris was dancing with some guy and then all of a sudden *DROP*
I turned around and when I say her legs just gave way, she was sitting flat out on the floor like…

Her legs were just out in front of her like a teddy bear and she was casually sitting on the floor.
Me being me couldn’t stop laughing and my friend managed to catch a picture although its not that clear…

Thennn the thing that tops it alllll off, the guy she was dancing with, lifted her up from behind asked if shes ok and carried on dancing like NOTHING happened.
I swear even to this day I will crack up everyyy time I tell the storyy!

What was Janet thinking? The color and fit is all wrong.

Black Eye Peas look rock star ready!

Shakira hips don’t lie in this sequined mini dress and glove.  This wasn’t my favorite, however Shakira looks adorable anyhow.

Rihanna edgy, daring and fabulous at the AMA’s.

Rihanna looks stunning in this Marchesa ensemble.

Alica Keys in a daring electric blue mini. Show those legs, girl!

Whitney Houston comeback and looks fabulous in white.

Didn’t like this dress.  It adds more hips than she needs. Oh no, Jlo

I didn’t get the song nor style at AMA’s.  It didn’t make sense neither does her outfits.

If anyone can wear honey blond color is Mary J Blidge.  She looks fantastic in the asymmetrical white and silver dress.

The controversal Lady Gaga dressed up in bandages.  Anything to shock people with hideous clothing, I must add.

Carrie Underwood, is my favorite at the AMA’s.

Adam Lambert skinny pant suits done well.

Neyo always dressed like a gentleman.

Love the suit but get rid of the Bozo tie. Its too big.

Jay Z love gigantic bow ties but don’t know why.

Can’t forget Drake in all black suit.  Drake young, handsome and fly.

Keri Hilson in all black sequined, mini, sequinced and shiny is a must this year.

Ok, but now too many celeb’s are wearing black and shiny.  Someone should be a little different.  It fashion but not to be overdone.

Perez Hilton looks like Elton John in this but it works for him.

Fergie yet another celeb in all black.  Love the second look with sexy thigh boots.  I have a thing for boots!

Selena in silver and black shoes.  Something is wrong.  Silver is not her color and the shoes doesn’t compliment the dress.

At one point Flo Rida was everyyyywhere on what felt like a million different songs at once but now its all about Ne-Yo for me!
Even looking back over my blog, he seems to be the one I’ve mentioned the most.
Whether its producing for Rihanna, releasing his own song, collaborating with 50 Cent- he’s doing it!
I think he can be quite underated too but he definitely is up at the top for me and after seeing him perform I can say he’s really good at that too.
Liking the sound of this song and looking forward to hearing what else he comes up with…

Ok so Alexandra Burke, last years x-factor winner and she’s done well!
She seems to be doing collabs with some BIG US artists!
The last song she had on her own (and only song) was ‘Hallelujah’ when she won the x-factor.
Firstly Flo Rida in ‘Bad Boys’ and now Ne-yo with ‘Good Night Good Morning’ ?!
Wow shes definitely been given some good contacts and is doing well… just wandering whether she’ll release a song of her own anytime soon…

Anyway I do like her new one…really catchy No video yet but still

Independent, that is the question. But not so much should you or shouldn’t you be independent, but what exactly does it mean for a woman to be independent.  What happened to the days when independence meant FREEDOM?   Now the word has taken on so many different meanings, it’s hard to determine what it means to be or not to be independent.   Women who have gotten a hold of this whole “independent movement” and taken it to the extreme say to be independent means “I need no one, I am my own woman.  Hear me roar!” In the hands of a man the whole I only like independent women movement leaves women wining and dining the men saying she got it, picking up tabs all the time.     With so many suggestions from popular culture and songs I’m not quite sure I’m buying into their ideologies of what it means to be or not to be an independent woman.  I don’t appreciate that Jamie and Neyo collabo trying to feed us with this erroneous idea of what it means.  Later for that reverse psychology business.   I don’t care what anyone says, what makes a woman independent can not be her ability and willingness to wine and dine a man!!  My grandmother always told me that you should date a man who can only do for you what you can’t do for yourself.   And I must admit that there is definitely some truth to that.

So what is it?   What does it mean to be independent?  I think it means that a woman is fully aware of her strength and her power yet also is willing to be vulnerable to a man to the RIGHT man.  Are we too far removed from the idea that men have specific roles that they should fill?  And an independent woman means to be able to do things for herself but allows a man to take his rightful position as provider.  A woman who will not be dependent on a man but one who maintains her own… her own identity, her own life, her own success but allows a man to share that space with her…by choice.
