If we already knew the foreman of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival – Nanni Moretti, Italian film director, for those who have not followed – we always missed the name of his acolytes. The organizers finally come to announce. Program, a French designer named Jean Paul Gaultier, an amazing director who just made a splash with THE DESCENDANTS or a great actor named Ewan McGregor. The jury of the 65th Cannes Film Festival to decide between the 22 films in competition to compose the Prize winners will be announced on stage during the Closing Ceremony, May 27, ending with the award of the Palme d’Or.

Hiam Abbass was born in Galilee. After studying in Haifa, she joined the theater troupe El-Hakawati Palestinian. She made her first appearance in the film Wedding in Galilee Michel Khleifi (1987) and then rose to prominence with Red Satin by Raja Amari (2002). We saw in the Syrian Bride (2005) and the Lemon (2008) Eran Riklis, Free Zone by Amos Gitai (2005, in Competition at Cannes) and Disengagement (2008) or the Sun Gate Yousry Nasrallah (2004), also presented in the Official Selection. In France, she also toured with Patrice Chéreau, Jean Becker and Radu Mihaileanu (The source of women – in Competition at Cannes 2011). United States with Jim Jarmusch (The Limits of Control – 2009), Thomas McCarthy (The Visitor – 2008) or Julian Schnabel Miral presented at the Venice Festival in 2010. She just finished shooting his first feature film as director, Inheritance.

Andrea Arnold, British director and screenwriter, won the Oscar for best short fiction film Wasp in 2004. It is selected in Competition at Cannes since his first feature, Red Road (2006). This first attempt was a masterstroke: the film won the Jury Prize awarded by the President Wong Kar-wai. For his second film, Fish Tank (2009), and she returns to Cannes Jury President Isabelle Huppert also offers him the Jury Prize. Born in Germany, Diane Kruger began his international career with Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy (2004). We see then in Merry Christmas by Christian Carion, Official Selection at Cannes and nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film, and then with Agnieszka Holland, Bille August, Quentin Tarantino. In France, she toured recently with Fred Cavaye and Fabienne Berthaud. She is the poster Farewell to the Queen of Benoit Jacquot, the opening of the Berlin Film Festival 2012 and recently completed Plan of Pascal Chaumeil and The Host by Andrew Niccol.

World famous designer who worked for artists like Madonna, or Angelin Prejlocaj Chopinot Regine Jean Paul Gaultier started his career with Pierre Cardin and then set up his own in 1976. Passionate and hands-on everything, he never ceased to increase, working for dance, music and films and has created the costumes for The City of Lost Children by Jeunet and Caro or the Fifth Element of Luc Besson. He mainly worked with Pedro Almodovar for Bad Education, at the opening of Cannes 2004 and the Piel Habito that, in Competition last year. Cinephile, Jean Paul Gaultier has repeatedly declared his passion for actresses or directors like Jacques Becker.

Ewan McGregor has become smooth in international cinema, Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting (Cannes Competition-1996) to Star Wars by George Luca (2002-2005) and Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge, which opened the Festival in 2001. It is a measure of the extent of its register in Cassandra’s Dream Woody Allen (2007), the Stare at Goats Heslow Grant (2010) or The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski (2010). He is currently shooting for HBO television series adapted from the novel by Jonathan Franzen, The Corrections. After Jude Law in 2011, Cannes is pleased to welcome a new representative of British drama school.

Originally from Nebraska, Alexander Payne studied film at UCLA. He directed his first feature film, Citizen Ruth, in 1996 and continues with The Careerist (1999), who received the award for Best Screenplay from the Writers’ Guild of America and the New York Film Critics Circle and a Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2002, Mr. Schmidt was selected in Competition at Cannes. Sensitive filmmaker inspired by his own passions moviegoers, Payne Sideways signed in 2004, which earned him another Oscar, as his latest film, The Descendants (2011), starring George Clooney, who also won the Oscar for better adaptation.

Born in Haiti, Raoul Peck grew up in Congo, France, Germany and the United States. He has produced a complex and varied ranging from documentary to fiction TV. He also directed feature films: The Man on the Quays, which was selected in Competition at Cannes 1993 and Lumumba, who was presented to the Directors’ Fortnight in 2000. Sometimes in April (2005) is presented to him in Berlin, Moloch Tropical (2009) in Toronto and Berlin. Former Minister of Culture of Haiti, Raoul Peck’s since 2010, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Fémis.
