Não consegui muitas informações sobre como nasceu o blog ou sobre seus criadores… mas seu post mais antigo é de maio de 2007 e seus principais blog posters são Dado Ellis e Nick Ellis. Mas independente de quem sejam os responsáveis pelo trabalho, é um blog fantástico e sou capaz de passar horas navegando pelo seu conteúdo.

Como o nome já diz, o Blog de Brinquedo é um espaço na internet dedicado a brinquedos, jogos, figuras colecionáveis e coisas do tipo. Há os mais criativos, belos e interessantes produtos lançados em todo o mundo. São itens de encher os olhos e de deixar você babando de vontade de ter!

It’s our last night in Seoul and we’re still in in the process of squishing too many articles of clothing and other items downward into proportionally too few containers of luggage.

Our flight to Beijing leaves tomorrow at 9AM and we should around there in about 2 hours. In response to the most common question so far, “how does it feel (or the popular variation–”are you excited?”), I feel relieved to be done with work and happy to take a break from Seoul. I’m glad to go somewhere (anywhere) with my wife-to-be and I’m excited about getting married. But as far as China itself goes, though, I’m not sure really what to feel. Honestly, given the choice to visit China vs. another Asian country, I’m not sure I would pick China if Fang wasn’t the reason to go. If I could encapsulate with one word the basic core issue that seems to prevent my wholehearted enthusiasm toward making this trip, basically it would be summed up by naming my biggest hygienic nightmare, my arch-nemesis, the “squatty.” Hopefully these are all exaggerations, but from the descriptions of coworkers, friends and students, I’m going to be dodging feces, eating roaches, and breathing black death for next few months. Fang is of course a big encouragement by saying things like, “yes, it’s true, in some places,” ”well, babe, I don’t want you to be surprised, so let me warn you about…”

It’s hard to believe this is really happening. It’s a miracle we’re together in the first place and it’s been God’s grace alone that’s brought this event together every step of the way until now. It’s going to be a good trip. I am excited, but I wish I packed more soap.

Other than that–I need to help Fang continue packing and not be messing with the computer. Thanks for reading and for all of the encouraging messages.

VOCÊS SÃO DIVASSSSSSS

No último dia 22 de novembro aconteceu a tão planejada e esperada festa Blogs on Dance. Essa festa nasceu da vontade de unir pessoas que twittam e blogam com seu público, num ambiente onde não houvesse palestra, conferência, nem nada do tipo. Apenas uma festa.

Para a escolha do repertório, convoquei alguns dos blogueiros e personalidades ligadas à internet que mais admiro: Cris Dias, Nick Ellis, Cardoso, Beto Largman e Mario Abbade. Algumas alterações foram feitas ao longo do caminho, quase trouxe o Fred Fagundes lá do Mato Grosso (do Sul? Eu nunca lembro…), mas o corpo do evento sempre esteve bem definido.

Muita gente ajudou a divulgar, muita gente não ajudou porque não pôde, muita gente não ajudou porque não quis. E é essa última parcela que me decepcionou. Um blog “famoso-entenda-como-quiser” me disse simplesmente que não podia ajuda a divulgar porque recebe muitos releases de lançamento de CDs de bandas e divulgação de festas, e se divulgasse a #BoD sem receber estaria ferindo a renda do blog… RENDA DO BLOG? Ta brincando comigo, zero-meia? Postar sobre uma designer dinamarquesa de privadas pode, porque é um assunto interessante, postar sobre um vídeo com o hino da blogosfera (cruelmente desprezado pelos blogueiros que mais respeito) pode, mas falar de uma festa que reuniu o público dos blogs e tendo os próprios blogueiros nas carrapetas não podia? Mas esse blogueiro ainda tem meu respeito, porque pelo menos teve cojones para me responder. Acho que muito pior é fazer papel de moleque como um outro, dizendo que vai ajudar e sumindo depois, ainda fingindo que não recebe meu email. Não fez falta, mas perdeu uma boa oportunidade de ter seu nome ao lado de um elogio na mesma frase. E é disso que é feita, ou deveria ser, a blogosfera.

Ao contrário do que me foi dito na assinatura do contrato, a casa não ofereceu um suporte necessário ao bem estar do público. Fiquei decepcionado com a falta de profissionalismo de quem diz ter mais de 10 anos de experiência na noite.

Nem tudo é perfeito 2 – o mea culpa

Já falamos tranquilamente sobre isso, mas acho que devo desculpas públicas ao Cardoso, pois não deu tempo de ele tocar seu set list que eu queria tanto ouvir. Dentre piadas internas (“você sabe que esse negócio de computador não é confiável”) e constatações de oportunidades perdidas (“acho que fui picado por um Sheldon radioativo…”), pude conversar, beber e compartilhar da companhia de um cara que efetivamente é um blogueiro profissional. Ele estava lá o tempo todo, viu como fomos tratados pelos funcionários da casa, me viu correndo pra lá e pra cá, e mesmo assim não se importou em não poder tocar. Fiquei bem constrangido, principalmente pela demora que foi para o evento acontecer, e espero poder reparar o erro em um outro evento no futuro. SIM, haverá outra Blogs on Dance!

As lições aprendidas

Passada a festa, posso dizer que sei com quem contar, como fazer a festa dar mais certo ainda na próxima edição, e como distribuir as responsabilidades com mais eficácia (delegar é uma arte). Fique imensamente feliz ao visitar o Search Twitter no domingo à noite e perceber que no fundo eu era um dos poucos que não tinha gostado da festa como um todo.

Preparem-se, pois criamos um monstro, e pretendemos alimentá-lo…

Nick Ellis não quis enrolar para concluir a prova #3, pouquíssimas horas depois de lançada já estavam lá suas 5 músicas blipadas.

Reunimos nossa comissão julgadora e avaliamos se as blipadas tinham relação com o tema do blog. Avaliamos nome da música, banda, letra e ritmo, no final somamos as notas e dividimos por 5. As músicas escolhidas pelos Nick e as notas foram as seguintes:

Ontem o Nick Ellis resolveu não perder tempo e já postar seu vídeo da segunda prova para garantir seus 10 pontos. E aí, acham que ele convenceu?

Quando comecei a blogar novamente com o Crítica Construtiva, logo pensei em colocar as mangas de fora e atacar de produtor de festas novamente. Tudo começou com uma conversa despretensiosa ao telefone com meu amigo de fé irmão camarada Kosmidis. Dias depois, colei as respostas positivas do Cris Dias, Cardoso, Nick Ellis, Fred Fagundes e Beto Largman num e-mail só e enviei a ele com o assunto: “Criamos um monstro!”.

Depois de algumas datas confirmadas e canceladas (inclusive ia acontecer no dia do BlogCamp RJ) e algumas mudanças no front-line, agora teremos a nossa festa tão esperada! Se eu agradecer a todos que deram força e apoiaram a idéia desde o início vou fazer um post gigantesco, então diluirei os agradecimentos post a post.

Uma das coisas mais elogiadas do evento de cara com certeza é a logo do vinil e do mouse fazendo “scracth”. Aquela pérola foi fruto do talento do designer Moreno Lennertz, que foi muito paciente comigo, fazendo mil alterações a todo momento. Confiram o talento dele em seu blog FokinFlyer. Parece que infelizmente ele não poderá ir à festa devido à uma viagem de trabalho. Patrão do Moreno, libera ele aê!!!!

Vamos que vamos!

Quando eu tinha uns 15 anos, fui morar mais perto da minha avó. Como ia sempre lá, já tinha amizade com alguns vizinhos dela. Quando passei a ser vizinho de minha avó, um cara da rua (chega de usar a palavra “vizinho”, né?) estava se mudando e se desfazendo de umas tralhas. Conversávamos enquanto ele carregava umas coisas, quando ele ficou escolhendo quais fitas VHS ele levaria para a nova casa (isso já denuncia minha idade…).

Enfim, ele separou uns filmes, umas fitas caseiras, e me deu uma fita com um olho gigante na capa. Em volta do olho, uns peixinhos nadavam no ar, e outros pequenos elementos me davam a pista que eu estava com algo valioso nas mãos. O meu vizinho olhou pra mim e disse: “Quer ficar com essa? Eu nunca nem vi, meu cunhado deixou aqui e nunca mais pegou…”.

Aceitei e fui pra casa ver na hora. Era Pulse, o midiático show do Pink Floyd, gravado em outubro de 1994 e lançado em 1995. Considerado por muitos (eu inclusive) um dos melhores espetáculos audio-visuais do show business, considerado por outros uma cópia mais colorida e barulhenta do show “The Wall”, de Roger Waters, “Pulse” (que acredite ou não inclui uma versão ao vivo completa de The Dark Side of the Moon) marcou a década, e redefiniu o conceito de show de rock (U2, só para citar um exemplo, é uma banda que foi muito influenciada pelo telão gigante do show do Pink Foyd).

Enfim, eis que nesta segunda-feira Deus percebeu que o céu tava um lugar muito chato, e resolveu chamar o cara para fazer a trilha sonora. Acaba aqui o meu sonho, e o do Nick Ellis, de ver um show da banda com sua formação original…
