Yesterday was a really good day for me.

I helped a few people with hypnotherapy and NLP, I was also working with two guys I respect in my field on a couple of projects for the New Year and my marketing assistant was all revved up and looking for new business opportunities.

To make this even better, I received an email from a discus thrower I had worked with called Kevin Brown who had won his third gold medal in October! He had sent me a photograph of the newspaper article dedicating his success to my Hypnosis sessions (picture attached). I was so pleased because this goal meant so much to him and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, but also was touched by his kindness in not only saying I had helped him but sending a picture of the article to me.

I put the article on Facebook and was checking the “Newsfeed” (I’m still not sure how that works? LOL) when I noticed a “Sports Mind Coach” had set up a group site so I thought I’d take a look. As I began reading the page I noticed the words had once again, (he’d done this on his website previously), been taken directly from my Sports Psychology website www.NDSP.co.uk and I found myself getting annoyed. Anyone who knows me knows the amount time and effort I have spent over the last 4 years developing my website, skills and products, helping hundreds of sports people (mostly boxers), which I am extremely proud of.

My mood had changed because my intellectual property had been stolen by someone who had done this in the past…I felt annoyed, why would anyone do this?

But then something happened!

An unconscious insight came to me and I asked myself “Why does this matter to me?”

I looked into the situation a little more; this guy had little or no experience, no testimonials or any measurable results from sportsmen or women and had difficulty talking in public.

I laughed to myself as I thought if he’s copying my stuff word for word it must be good! It’s rather like a child wears a football top with his favourite players name on it because he wants to be like him. And in boxing terms it would be like Manny Pacquiao getting annoyed by a journeyman boxer who was telling everyone he was the best, so I began to see it in a different perspective.

I thought once again about how great my life was because of the hard work I had put in…

…and I felt brilliant again.

On the road to success you will experience a few “bumps”, it’s how we react to these that affects the way we feel and how much success we have.

David Beckham recently said about his difficult time with LA Galaxy “There’s never a smooth road. There are always a few bumps along the way and there has been. But that’s kind of been my career. There have always been ups and downs – more ups than downs but that’s the way it is, that’s life.”

What keeps me motivated and inspired is having the mindset that my successes are the result of my skills and hard work, rather than accidents or freak occurrences.

Stuff happens, people do things and circumstances happen that disrupt your plans. I understand this will always happen so I look for the “Gold” in every situation. When I say Gold, I mean the positive insight or message.

Say to yourself “How can I view this situation in a way that will help me learn something or feel differently?”

Emotions are just energy, if you are using that energy to feel bad, it can also be used to feel good or to take action to do something that makes you feel good.

So whenever you are faced with a challenge…

…Look for the Gold!

IT HAS been a popular playground game for generations, but children in one Scottish school have been banned from playing British Bulldogs on “health and safety grounds”.

Pupils at Edinburgh’s Firrhill High School have been told not to play the game, along with other “physical” pastimes such as wrestling.

The game involves kids running across the field and trying to break through a human chain formed by the other team.

It has had a revival in recent years as schoolchildren are encouraged to be more active in the playground – but has been banned in schools across the country.

And a series of minor injuries caused by playing the game at Firrhill has led to the acting senior depute Nick McClellan telling the kids not to play it during school hours.

A note in the daily bulletin message to pupils on the school’s website reads: “Please note that taking part in physical games such as wrestling or British Bulldogs is not allowed in the school grounds at breaks and lunchtimes.

“On health and safety grounds there is a significant risk of injury to pupils and these types of games are therefore unacceptable in school.”

Just last year, the Local Government Association (LGA) – which represents councils in England and Wales – called for the game to be reintroduced, saying schools needed to strike a balance between health and safety and getting the kids active.

But the move has support from local councillors, who say the game is “not appropriate”.

Councillor Jeremy Balfour said: “If schools can’t provide the necessary supervision, it’s probably a game that is not appropriate for kids at break times.”

“Don’t get out of hand”

Other councillors are calling for the school to life the ban, saying risk is “part of growing up”.

Councillor Alison Johnstone said: “This is a game that I played when I was at school and the fact that it’s still going strong shows it does have a real appeal.

“Clearly we have to take health and safety considerations into account but we have to be a lot more imaginative and can’t simply ban anything that has a bit of risk attached to it, as that’s part of growing up.”

A spokesman for Edinburgh City Council said: “We don’t have a central policy on activity in playgrounds.

“The school doesn’t want to see children wrestling or running into each other and getting hurt. They are simply trying to ensure things don’t get out of hand.”

Yup, thats right, I’ve finally found someone after 3 months of moping around because of Nick…

His name’s Wade :3 He’s greek and has long brown hair, big light brown eyes, and he’s just adorable. He’s really funny and nice, he opens doors  and cares about me. He makes me happy

I really hope things work out with us because he’s the only guy I’ve had feelings for this school year, and he helped me get over pretty boy Nick.

Como já era de se esperar, finalmente o primeiro video comentado sobre Left 4 Dead 2 está pronto.
Na verdade, o video foi gravado pelo meu camarada Lemos do blog Play It (não deixem de acessar e apoiar o garoto ou eu continuarei floodando vocês com Left 4 Dead 2).
Como vocês vão notar, este é nosso primeiro video comentado e é constituido de quatro partes.
Uma para cada mapa da campanha Dead Center. As proximas partes deverão ser postadas nos proximos dias.

Sidder i køkkenet med en super-size “balje” morgen kaffe og venter på, at jeg kan se ud af mine øjne. Det jeg dog har kunnet se – so far – har været herligt. Jeg tjekkede lige min mail, og havde fået et brev fra Cheap Monday/Weekday, om at der er tilbud på deres Weekday/MTWTFSS bukser – 250 kr.. JA TAK! Og så fylder jeg 21 på mandag og synes derfor at mit lille ordspil i overskriften er det klogeste siden brød på skiver :b

Så løb ned i weekday og køb dig et par mega billige jeans..

If you mock a weatherman for not being able to predict weather out of a wet paper bag enough times, then they predict a big storm – which of course you don’t believe them – that knocks the power out.  I knew I should have just scheduled my Stills post Saturday night! And since I to do so, today will be a late SS/Macro Monday post.

Sunday Stills Challenge:

As it turns out, I did manage to find a horse to photograph… my own!  Not that I was worried about finding any. =)

Just coming back from a ride.  Nick was so patient and hardly moved a muscle while I snapped away and asked him to pose for me.

This is one of my favorites, I took it this summer right before I went for a ride.  I just love the look on his face.

Mehul ran a GREAT marathon this morning!  Colby and I saw him first at about mile 8.5, and then we met up with Laura, Bones, Patterson and Lee and caught him at mile 15 for the ocean of awesome zone before seeing him again at about 25.5.  Super impressed with his time – what a great day and a great run!  Awesome job Mehul!!

Got back from Philly with just enough time to spare to drive strait down to Dullus to pick Nick up from his flight home from the west coast – AND watched New Moon tonight.  What a crazy great day!

Jeg har rykket rundt i lejligheden – yet again –  og bagefter var jeg pænt smadret, så jeg faldt i søvn. Blev vækket af kæresten der havde købt chips og stod klar med kaffe. Vi satte Twilight på og sad og savlede lidt over Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullen. Eller som min veninde kalder ham Edward Pattinson – en blaning mellem den fiktive figur og skuespilleren. Nu skal vi snart i seng og i morgen står den på studier og den evigt grå og trivielle hverdag.
