I love the song! It’s so fun! I don’t know who that guest artist is. It kinda sounds like Hirotaka Mori. Maybe not. I think Ryo-Z said yesterday that the album is influenced by the 60s, 70s, and 80s music eras. The album is looking really good so far!

eta: ok so the current nico registration page looks a little different than the “english version” that the message board provided. If you still need help, here it is step-by-step:

1. The first box is asking you for your email address.
2. The second box is asking you to pick a username.
3. Don’t worry about the cute picture, the drop down menu there is just asking you to pick a thumbnail.
4. The next thing is your gender. Male / female.
5. Date of birth; year-month-day.
6. Just pick anything from the drop down menu, it’s asking you for where you live [in Japan] lol
7. Pick your password and reenter it.
8. The last thing asks you to come up with a security question and then answer it.
9. On the next page, type in the generated captcha. Then, press the button right below the captcha box, not the one next to it nor the one at the very bottom.
10. Confirmation email yada yada

If you want to turn the annoying scrolling comments off, click on the speech bubble with the periods at the bottom of the video. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to permanantly turn them off for all videos. There’s also a repeat button next to it, which is what I’ve been using while listening to Good Day. Yes, I really love this song, even though the rip is short lol.

In light of the fact that neither sections of this post feel substantial enough to warrant a full post each, I have opted to combine them into a single post of slightly more significant length. Besides, I also get an excuse to write this foreword in order to artificially boost my word count.

In the first part of this post, I will show you how to get a Nicovideo account. Actually, it might be more accurate to say that I will show you where you can go to learn how to set up a Nicovideo account. The place I’m referring to is here. It is a pretty self-explanatory guide with what can only be described as English subtitles.

As the site says, Nicovideo is basically a Japanese Youtube. It’s probably far less accessible for users who can’t read Japanese, as the site contains next to no English. That said, some users do mirror selected clips onto Youtube, but you should not rely on that, because the bulk of the content do not leave the dark depths of Nicovideo. This is where your Nicovideo account comes in handy. It allows you to view videos that, unfortunately, are not uploaded to Youtube.

For your first video, I have seen fit to expose you to a crash course on Nicovideo memes. This video contains almost all the memes that have been used on Nicovideo, along with a selection of music that have reached meme status. If you can identify about 10% of the content in it, you’re an automatic winner. After that, you might see fit to listen to a Nico Nico Orchestra rendition of the same piece of music, so that you can be awestruck by the talents found on Nicovideo. A list of music used can be found here. I’m not sure if the list is 100% accurate, because the video that I linked to is the 1-year anniversary version, so perhaps something has been changed. *Cue The Matrix déjà vu moment*

In times to come, I’ll also post various other noteworthy videos from Nicovideo, so check this space frequently for your dose of visual and aural enjoyment.

In the second section of this post, I will talk about the new survival mode in Left 4 Dead. About 2 days ago, survival mode was added to Left 4 Dead. In it, you hold out against an unending waves of horde attacks. More than one of each special infected can be spawned at once, and it is not surprising to see 3 smokers launching attacks simultaneously or 2 tanks attacking at once. This makes a cohesive defence a difficult proposition.

It can be observed that survival mode is actually a modified versus mode. Firstly, the “versus” version of each campaign is used. Most notably, the No Mercy rooftop radio room has an exposed staircase. Furthermore, common infected deal versus-like damage and tanks appear to have similar health to those in versus mode. However, one key difference is that the hunter’s knockback has been increased by about 1-2 seconds. This has the effect of splitting up survivors by a larger amount and is aimed at subtly encouraging the survivors to stay farther apart.

Despite these overwhelming odds, a good defence is not a pipe dream. A good location to defend is any medium-sized room that is close to the ammo pile. Failing that, any alcove with a long approach is ideal for defence as you can see any smokers, hunters and tanks coming from far away. During any lulls in attack, a run for the ammo pile should be made to replenish ammo. This should be done in pairs to protect each other from hunters and smokers. The main damage source should come from tanks, and one unfortunate survivor should act as the bait while the rest of them take the chance to kill the tank quickly.

Regardless of that you may do, surviving for 10 minutes is still not going to be easy. Communicate well with your teammates and you will soon become a Legendary Survivor.

Y continuando con ¿WTF es Perfume?, es un grupo de Electro Pop japo formado por 3 chicas que cantan como desde los 9 años porque Yasutaka Nataka (su productor) a penas las vio, supo que la fuerza era grande en ellas y las entreno como sus padawan en el camino jedi del J-pop.

El tipo compone la musica, escribe las canciones, inventa coreografias y settings futuristas para los videos y se preocupa de que el trio venda, mientras ellas ponen sus voces sintetizadas para las canciones y su moe para los videos/sesiones de fotos. Jamas he visto que canten en vivo asi que dudo que canten bien, pero a quien le importa mientras sigan haciendo canciones adictivas.

Nataka tambien forma un duo con otra vocalista llamado “Capsule” que es mas electro que pop, tambien son buenos, de ellos me gusta particularmente “Jumper” busquen su musica por ahi porque vale la pena.

Ahi estan junto las 3 de Perfume y Thoshiko de Capsule junto a mi idolo personal Nakata (?)

Otra solista de electro pop japo que recomiendo es Aira Mitsuki, que aunque no tiene relacion con Nakata hace musica de un estilo bastante similar.

Nearly 74% of Japan’s online population visited a site in the entertainment category during February 2009. And Japanese Internet users spent nearly 15% of their total time online on entertainment sites, reveals research firm comScore.

“Entertainment sites, which include online video, TV, and music destinations, continue to be among the most popular sites on the Web,” says Maru Sato, managing director of comScore Japan.

More than 45.7 million visitors visited an entertainment site in February, representing nearly 74% of the Japanese online population. YouTube.com had the largest audience with 21.7 million visitors, representing a reach of 35%. 

Other heavily trafficked entertainment properties included Sony Online (15.2 million visitors), iTunes Software Application (12.1 million visitors), Nicovideo.jp (11.2 million visitors), and Fuji Television Network (7.5 million visitors).

Japanese visitors spent an average of nearly three and a half hours (201 minutes per visitor) at entertainment sites in February, with Japan ranking sixth among the 37 individual countries currently reported by comScore. 

Of the 20 most visited entertainment sites, Nicovideo.jp led the ranking in terms of engagement with an average of 193 minutes spent per visitor on the video site during the month, followed closely by YouTube.com at 187 minutes.

The information was released by comScore yesterday (April 9).

Two Japanese players invent a new game inside of Mario 64 – activate a 1up mushroom from a tree then attempt to gather all 8 red coins on a level and collect the star without letting the 1up mushroom reach you. Since the mushroom chases you very fast and can fly anywhere, this is extremely difficult.

Now that sounds fun, but not all the amazing, no? Wrong. What makes these videos excellent is the narration. Now I understand no Japanese what so ever, but  you don’t need to, it all in the shear PANIC expressed by the guys due to the chasing 1up
