NIJI AL VB2 - Los esperamos

Despues de un año de espera, ha llegado el evento más importante del 2009 el VIÑETAS, BITS & BEATS VB2 a realizarse en el PALACIO DE CRISTAL de la ciudad de GUAYAQUIL desde el 27 DE NOVIEMBRE HASTA EL 29 DE NOVIEMBRE.

El evento promete un gran espectáculo los tres días así que no se lo pueden perder, de manera especial el día 29 DE NOVIEMBRE con la presentación del famoso artista chileno Juan Guillermo Aguirre más conocido como CAPITAN MEMO junto con Sandra y su banda, quienes nos presentaran los mejores exitos de las canciones del anime clásico como Capitan Futuro, El Gladiador, Candy Candy, La pequeña Lulú, Festival de los Robots y mucho más…

Y para abrir el concierto de Capitán Memo la banda de J-Music NIJI va estar presente con una presentación celebrando sus TRES AÑOS de trayectoria en Ecuador, presentando muchas sorpresas en un tributo muy especial a todos los que han apoyado a este gran proyecto que sigue adelante con trabajo duro,humildad y con el apoyo de un gran grupo de amigos que han llevado adelante a esta banda, tendremos un anuncio muy importante ese día del evento así que no se lo pueden perder.

Los esperamos!!!!

Hola a todos, ha pasado un tiempo y pues ha llegado la hora de que nuestra casa disfrute nuevamente de NIJI es por esto que volvemos con una pequeña prueba de lo que será las sorpresas que traerá el mes de Noviembre, algunas canciones, novedades y una que otra sorpresa….

Este sábado 31 de Octubre formaremos parte del show del Halloween Fest 2009 en el Centro Comercial La Rotonda de la ciudad de Guayaquil (al fin!! xD) a partir de las 18h00 empezará que promete mucho y esperamos que todos puedan estar presentes.

Con esta presentación queremos dar una mano a la campaña de apoyo al programa AyC (Anime y Comics) vayan para que puedan dar su firma de apoyo a este espacio que nos ha brindado mucho entretenimiento a todos lo fanáticos de este arte.

“Una idea que une a la gente…debe continuar” Un saludo para todos los lectores de nuestra página de Facebook y nuestro blog, hoy queremos comunicarles el comienzo de una campaña general que se está realizando en todo el país para que continue con nosotros el UNICO espacio de difusión de la cultura japonesa y el noveno arte a nivel nacional el programa “Anime y Comics de televisión satelital”, puesto que se ha empezado a comunicar que se va sacar del aire este espacio que ha unido a todos los grupos del país y que ha ayudado sin interés alguno a la difusion del arte que muchos disfrutamos y que directa o indirectamente ha contribuido a que todos salgamos adelante dando a conocer algo que nos gusta. Desde hoy inicia la campaña de recolecta de firmas a favor del programa Anime y Comics y a su productor general y conductor Carlos Oyola, pueden enviarnos sus firmas y mensajes de apoyo vía Facebook, por correo electrónico a gruponiji@gmail.com o tambien dejan su mensaje en el post de www.nijidays.wordpress.com. Este es un mensaje que les enviamos a todos como banda, para que nos ayuden a que los espacios de difusión no se reduzcan más bien se fortalezcan….Gracias por su apoyo!!

You, in this case, being I. Nor can I escape rainbows.  I’ve now listened to the rainbow(or niji) track from the E7 ost, well, over 400 times. For whatever reason I have several versions of the track, but the main one I listen to has a playcount of 330. Even just rounding up to 400 (and I’m positive it is higher) churns out 4400 minutes that I have been listening to it. Of course, not counting the times it’s played on my mp3 player and xbox too. Is it possible to listen to a single track too much? Quite possibly! I can’t help it though, it’s on my playlist of soothing apa-melodies, which is basically playing 70% of the time as I’m angry 70% of the time.

Some other interesting statistics on my playlist; (this is mostly from like mid 2008 onwards, which is when I started using foobar and tracking them)

• Faunts – M4 part II 115x
• Tool – Vicarious 184x

Those are the most random/impressive, but pretty much the entire E7 OST has like 30-50x. Soilwork, Tool, SA, Blind Guardian albums all have about 70x+ for the most part. There’s also a depressingly huge amount of music here that I’ve got 0x on. Mostly, stuff from Brawl, I downloaded the soundtrack ages ago, but never listened to it once I swapped to foobar. One of the most startling though, is that space jam/blazblue remix, I’ve got like 150x on that and I’ve only had it for a week or so. YEAH IT’S TIME TO HOOT, SO TOOT BABY TOOT.

I’ve been playing Oblivion for the most part recently, if you didn’t gather from the previous post (which was so I could show BIG MIKE how strange my character looks.) I’ve been screwing about in Shivering Isles for the most part, having completed the main quest and the fighter’s guild and arena quests in the main game. There’s a ton of other quests I could do, mage guild, thieves’ guild and dark brotherhood amongst them. I’m contemplating whether I should make a new character for them or not. Probably not, as I’m lazy.

The summer season of anime has now finished more or less, so I’ll give a brief rundown on the series I watched.

Canaan

I more or less enjoyed Canaan, it was a tad different to what I expected however. I dunno, I think there was some connection to F/SN/KNK author, so I assumed it would have all the uh..crazy stuff that those normally have. However Canaan was for the most part just mindless action in my eyes, which is all well and good I suppose. I didn’t find myself really caring about Canaan or Captain Sugoi. There were also moments that were both pointless and lacking in logic. Overall though, I did enjoy it, but the ending was crap. It did spawn Liang Qi though, [ALPHA TANGENT] much like Dio, Mao and Apachai before her, she joins the PLANT HALL OF FAME. What is this you cry? I’ll tell you so stop crying before I punch the tears back into your eyes. It’s a thing for awesome characters who were in awesome (or not!) shows, yet did not get enough screentime and or did not play a large enough role in the story, HOWEVER it’s also possible that if they did play a bigger role, they would become less awesome. There are a few other honorary members I should poin-NEE IMA DOUSHITTA NO CRITTA jesus christ that surprised me, I forgot I slamma’D my entire music folder into foobar, so I happily listening to some sweet DOA tunes when it suddenly cranka-no-swappa’D to Casshern’s soundtrack, namely, the OP. Casshern was a pretty decent show of, what was it, 2008? Uh, anyway yeah. Canaan wasn’t bad, nor was it good. It was average. It’s not really a show I would label as MUST-WATCH, but perhaps the movie versions will be more tolerable and have less

Bakemonogatari / Ghostory

Eh, what is there to say about Bakemonowhatever. It’s basically an episodic(?!) show about some douche who deals with specific characters with their specific animal crap blah blah, yeah, my interest really wasn’t very high in this show, but I watched it anyway. I’ll be frank, I didn’t really like this show that much, why? I read books, I watch films and I watch anime. I don’t watch anime so I can read books. Bakemonogatari is basically a book with pictures. There’s rarely any animation, it’s somewhat slideshowesque in nature, and the animation itself, like a lot of SHAFT stuff, is a tad stylised. WORDS WORDS WORDS the anime, you could say. There’ll be almost an entire episode which is just them sitting there talking, it’s not bad per se, it’s just not my thing, it’s under utilising the visual medium in my opinion. I don’t really know what else to say to be honest, it was alright I guess? The end was superior to Canaan, if nothing else. (Although I think it’s actually not finished, and there’s another 3 episodes which are webcasts, shrug) In the end, it was perhaps negatively effected by what I call the SHAFT effect, which is something they seem to do to everything, it’s sort of like when Tim Burton directs a movie, he turns it..Tim Burtony. Overall though, Bakemonogatari wasn’t a show I liked very much.

Bakemonogatari gets 6 staplers out of 10, potentially 7.

Well that’s it, Zan Goodbye Frahlo You Cunt isn’t actually finished yet (it is, but GG are slow and need to stop playing koreaboo MMORPGS. Everything else I’m watching (namely FMA and Gintama) are still airing and I imagine they will still be airing for a good while. (Hopefully Gintama will still be airing this time next year.) Speaking of Gintama, there’s a new season starting today/yesterday or so, new OP isn’t too bad, nor is the new ED, and it’s also the start of a new story arc, back to Yoshiwara it seems, and it was off to a good start, kunai-crushing-Gintoki gags aside.

What is it with anime people and german suplexes?

Well that’s all I suppose, Borderlands comes out in just 22 days. 2008 was a year of two big let downs, Brawl and Fable 2. Brawl I’ll admit was mostly a let down just because of the online, I underestimated how much it would suck. Come to think of it, it’s the same with Fable 2, the crappy co-op somewhat ruined it. Oh well. Brawl I was awaiting for almost half a decade, Fable 2 not so much, Borderlands only since I first heard of it, which was either early 08 or late 07, regardless, it is by far my most wanted game this year. Next year? Well, if we go by EARLY next year, it’s probably got to be Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta’s looking pretty good too (annoying main character aside.)

As for me, I’m wasting my time in the usual way. I’ve also created a new plan to read (what’s translated so far) Fate/Zero, as it sounds pretty cool. Why? Well, Berserker catching Gilgamesh’s weapons and using them against him, not to mention using an F15 jet as his noble phantasm for one thing, Alexander the Great being Rider is another. I’ve also been writing FFID as usual, I’m currently working on the “Part 2 Finale” you could compare it to a season finale of a TV show, it’s twice as long, twice as badass, and hopefully, twice as good. I say twice as long, but it’s currently looking like it’ll be 10,000+ words long. (That’s this entire post x10, basically)

I’ve also been thinking up ways to make BIG MIKE’s internet load as slow as possible, examples include the comic page with its millions of image, another example would be me purposefully putting as many giant images in this post as I can fit. Simple tasks and simple problems with mostly easy solutions, if only my anger had a similar solution!

Hola queridos amigos y amigas. largo tiempo sin postear novedades sobre las presentaciones de Quito y Ambato. Pero a continuación un resumen de lo ocurrido.

La presentación en el Parque Nacional Itchimbía fué sin dudas muy emotiva. Pues se trataba del reencuentro casi un año mas tarde con aquel público que siempre nos ha brindado su cariño y apoyo. Con el agregado que nuestro tecladista Luis Coppiano personificó con su Cosplay al mítico Isidro Romero Carbo… Perdón al mítico Dr. Kiba de Jiban, el cual causó sensación entre los asistentes.

En el concierto de apertura la banda “Los amantes de Manuela”  relizaron una gran presentación con temas de series como Beck, Lain y Zoids. Pero en su canción de cierre “We were angels” hicieron una fusión con los integrantes de Niji ( Sandy, Jorge, Nelson, Luis y María Pía) para interpretar este tema el cual fué aclamado por los presentes.

Ya en la presentación de Niji el público nos apoyó de inicio a fin, gritando a viva voz cada uno de los temas entr los que destacaron: Blurry Eyes, Go, The World, Wish, Glamurous Sky y como no podía ser de otra forma se pagó la deuda con el público quiteño del año anterior y todo se volvió una fiesta en el momento en el que se interpretó Cha la Head Cha la. La canción más aclamada de la noche.

Gracias Quito. Los queremos mucho.

GOKUSEN no omoide!!

My train journey back from Glasgow to Edinburgh this afternoon ended with me reading the last pages of the book ‘Essays in Love’ by Alain de Botton. He is an author whose work I identify deeply with.

I first grew fond of his works after reading ‘The Art of Travel’, a book which examined and dissected the very questions and issues that I was contemplating about travel. I was at a point in my life when travel was a state which I was to frequently engage in, and those airport moments, cabin lunches and gazes out to the white fluff of clouds, afforded me much time to think. And thinking gives rise to questions.

As I write this post, I am playing a romantic song in the background on YouTube, called ‘Niji’ by Ninomiya Kazunari, whose vocal and piano rendition was so mesmerising, I felt something not unlike falling in love.

I have a habit of dog-ear-ring the pages from books with passages or sentences or quotes or ideas that I feel deeply about, or which I wanted to revisit. It’s usually one or two pages, but I realised that I have dog-earred almost the entire ‘Essays in Love’.

Why though, I wondered?

Then I realised that it was because I, just like the protagonist, have lived through a period of ‘falling in love’ not too long ago. I have also witnessed failed, or perhaps, confusing love, and I have always wondered the very questions that he addresses in his book. I can’t even begin to quote the book because there are just too many brilliant and revealing sentences in it.

I am enlightened. I now understand my former experience of being in love a little better, and for that, I cast a flicker of light over my life.

And is that not what we’re here for? To seek answers, and to (hopefully) be able to make sense of who we are?

Allá vamos Ambato!!!

Bueno como estamos a full con las presentaciones seguidas , tenemos que seguir practicando para tenerles nuevas sorpresas entonces van a tener que esperar un poco para tener mas imagenes y videos de quito las verán muy pronto (algunas est{an el facebook)…..Hasta eso, tenemos que prepararnos para nuevo un  reto, pues NIJI por primera vez como banda visita la ciudad de Ambato a presentar todo el trabajo de covers de esté género tan querido como el J-pop y J-Rock.

Les tendremos muchas sorpresas de todas sus series favoritas y poco a poco vamos revelando lo que será la nueva imagén de Niji de la banda,

Los esperamos a todos en el AMC 2009 ( Ambato Manga City) en el museo CASA DEL PORTAL en el centro de la ciudad en Sucre y Castillo un evento organizado por nuestros amigos de Akibalei y Ambato Joven.

NIJI EL SABADO 12 DE SEPTIEMBRE A LAS 18H00…..LOS ESPERAMOS!!!!!

A dupla Yuzu lançou nesta última quarta-feira, dia 2 de setembro, o seu 29º single. Intitulado “Niji”, este já é o terceiro single lançado por eles este ano (o primeiro foi “Aitai” lançado em abril e o outro foi “Ichigo”, lançado no mês de julho).

A canção “Niji” esta sendo usada no mais novo comercial da companhia de seguros Nippon Life. Quem participa do CM é a patinadora artística Mao Asada. Confira ele logo abaixo:

O single possui apenas duas faixas e além da música “Niji”, há também uma b-side chamada “Re: Start”.

Gosto bastante do Yuzu e adorei “Niji”, já é uma das músicas que eu mais  gostei deles! O PV é bem interessante também, não entendi muito bem o conceito dele mais é um ótimo PV . Dou nota 4/5.

Bom, como vimos, o Novo Album do Kobukuro está a duas semanas no #1 dos álbuns da ORICON , resolvi postar sobre eles.
Kobukuro é uma banda japonesa formada em 1998,  que começou a ter grande sucesso em 2001.  O nome dos membros da banda são: Kuroda Shunsuke e Kobuchi Kentarou. O nome Kobukuro surgiu dos dois sobrenomes dos membros: Kobuchi e Kuroda.

Bom, acho que de cara, quando olhamos pra eles, já vemos que há algo diferente em Kobukuro.  Shunsuke, tem 1,93 metros de altura!! Enquanto Kentarou tem só 1,68 (sou mais alto que ele)!! Bom,  a diferença de tamanho é bem visível, nã

Em 2001, Kobukuro foi contratado pela Warner Music Japan, e depois disso, sua fama começou a crescer mais e mais. Seus singles e albuns alcançando altas posições em listas como o ORICON.
Outra coisa importante, foi a parceria de Ayaka e Kobukuro, que gravaram um single em 2007 para um comercial da “Nissan Club”. O Single “WINDING ROAD” ficou por semanas em 2º lugar. Foi um ótimo negócio para os dois lados, já que Ayaka também era/é uma “cantora nova”, que começou a carreira em 2006, mas já tem grande fama dentro e fora do Japão.

O sucesso do primeiro single da parceria de Kobukuro e Ayaka foi tanto, que houve um segundo single, o “Anata to” no ano seguinte, para um novo comercial para a “Nissan Club” .

O Álbum mais novo de Kobukuro se chama CALLING, e o single mais novo se chama “Niji” .

Bom, eu gosto das músicas de Kobukuro, mesmo sem conhecer todas. Conheço algumas, mas gostei de todas que ouvi até agora. Conheci eles pela parceria com a Ayaka, e depois que percebi que eles também eram famosos!! Hahaha.

Bom, pra quem ficou curioso, abaixo vão os videos de “Anata to”, “WINDING ROAD” (parceria com Ayaka), e Kaze (só deles xD!).

Continuando con las buenas noticias, NIJI regresa a los escenarios este 4 de Junio en la presentación del proyecto de MULTIPLAYERS  – Videojuegos, Anime y Comics en Ecuador.

Este Jueves 4 de Junio a partir de las 19:00 arranca la rueda de prensa por la presentación de este nuevo proyecto de una productora y en esta ocasión nos han invitado a formar parte de esta entrevista con los medios y presentar nuestro trabajo como banda junto con la banda Decibel quienes en esta ocasión interpretaran covers se anime y por esto compartiremos escenario .

Dew es un grupo formado por Yu Shimizu (vocalista) y Haruna Onishi (Vocalista-piano), se formaron como cantantes mientras cursaban la preparatoria en Canadá. Su primer album fue ‘Croquis‘ bajo el sello de la disquera Indie en 2006. En 2007, su sencillo ‘Present’ fue el tema de un comenrcial de cosmeticos, y de esta forma despertaron un gran interés entre el público.

En julio de 2008, lanzaron un mini-album titulado ‘Illustrated Flower Book ~Hanazukan’, compuesto con temas solamente de ‘flores’, y con este album consigueron un impecable debut,y bien, regresandoal tema de su nuevo single, este se titula ‘Thank You’, y esta disponible desde el 08 de abril.

Driven by necessity and a change in lifestyle that started in Paris in 2007, I’d finally found my stride in cooking when we reached Barcelona in December.  I knew I would.  My mother’s a great cook and while I doused my overcooked chicken in oil and  boiled up ten minute rice through my twenties, I knew it was just because I had nobody to cook for and no real reason to in my hectic  New York life. Why, with all the great restaurants, endless cuisine choices, and terrible produce, why bother?

Paris changed me, culinarily. But not how you’d expect.  Six months into entrecôte, tasteless skinned and boiled fingerling potatoes, heavy cream sauces, dijon dressing, all matters of ham, and endless rounds of bread with stinky goat cheese, I started to get antsy.  I missed Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese flavors.  I missed Mexican. I missed Indian. I missed SPICE.  But I also just missed variety. And at an average of 20 euros a meal with no ‘ticket restaurant’ (meal vouchers to halve the price at restaurants, given only by corporations to their employees), I had to start saving money as well.

I have developed, if I do say so myself, into a fine chefette but I admit I’d never cooked a whole fish until moving to Barcelona. One thing at a time.

THE FISHMONGER at Boqueria called it Besugo, online it’s mostly described as Sea Bream but Dorade (sounds fancier and is French) is how they describe it at New York restaurants. Either way, it’s light, fluffy, tender and delicious. Not too fishy, very meaty. The first night, I baked it in the oven layered over potatoes and tomatoes. Simple. The second night, friends came around  with two more and tossed them on the grill stuffed with mint and shallots. Both ways, the results were delicious. Here’s the oven version and if you cook 2 for 2 people, you can have a bit for lunch the next day.

Ingredients:
•    Thinly Sliced Potatoes (as many as needed to provide one layer in the pan that will house the fish)
•    Thinly Sliced Bright Red Tomatoes (it’s useless if they are not excellent Tomatoes)
•    A concoction of oil and minced garlic, pepper and ground salt
•    1 Leek, cut lengthwise twice and once across
•    2 Shallots, sliced
•    Sprigs of Rosemary
•    1 Lemon

Preheat oven to 350 F or 170 C.  Oil your baking pan lightly with olive oil.  Prepare tomatoes and potatoes and line the pan with them, rubbing each potato slice with the oil mixture as you layer the potatoes first and then the tomatoes over them.  Sprinkle with oil, salt, and pepper.  Lace with chopped onion.  Sprinkle most of the leek on top and save the rest for inside the fish and on top in the second phase of cooking.  Put in oven, uncovered, 15-18 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare your fish. Clean thoroughly. If your fish monger has not done it for you, slit open the fish. Slice your shallots. Line inside of the fish with your mixture of garlic and oil, pepper, salt and place long leek pieces inside, shallot rounds, and your rosemary sprigs.  Paint outside with the mixture too.  Lay on top of the potatoes when 10 minutes are up.  Put more tomato slices and leeks on top of fish and place whole thing back in oven, covered with tin foil for 15 minutes.  After those minutes are up, take off the tin foil and let cook for 15 more minutes uncovered.

Serve with a nice fruity white. We are not wine experts, especially of Spanish white wines but instead forgot wine at the last minute and Peter had to run out as I kept the fish warm in the oven and set the table quickly.  He came back with a wine from the Rueda called Mania and it was quite good. It was 5, 35 euros from Tot At Born on Passeig del Born.
