it started with a pair of earphones.

and an irrationally impractical obsession for want of the unattainable.

so finally after a lot of thought out planning and a little help from some amazingly awesome individuals, i now have in my posession that coveted tiny thingamajig, the one which has been the subject matter of many tearful phone calls home, countless hours of unsuccessful eBay trawling and even several desperate emails to Apple. pretty much shameless with the public hankering for this thing since last year, plagued with wretched despair ever since.

and surely i could have easily sold out and ended my misery by getting it in the readily available choices of green/black/blue/silver but nooo. i’m difficult like that. a dash of an insanity streak on top of the preexisting stubbornness. how’s that for completely whack on the mental stability front. desire had me borderline possessed.

after much waiting and wishing and hoping, i find that things really have a way of falling into place… if you stick to your guns and put your mind to it i guess.

i have to thank a few people for this. first and foremost, there’s this girl:

this wizard of a friend ordered and charged the iPod to her credit card. all i had to do was hand over the cash! i am forever indebted. you will be in my wedding! i swear to god! i love you! maybe i’ll name my firstborn after you. well okay so that is a bit much probably.

but seriously intan if you are reading this, a zillion thank you’s you really are the shiznit.

then there are the fine jasinians over in rosenheim who lent me their mailing address, kak zarith and eza.

also to kak lisa the travelling senior, graciously lugging the damn thing all the way from germany to moscow with love.

and as an afterthought, to raimi and the guys over in 15-02. i appreciate your letting me hang out in utter restlessness for kak lisa to be around so i could pick the pod up.

so i am currently walking on air i’ve tried out the nike+iPod sports kit with the sensor, and everythings just perfect now.

well, i still have to wait for spring to come a-rolling. until then my running sessions are reduced to halfhearted trots in my sneakers, indoors, confined to my matchbook room space area.

which apparently is only good for burning 2 calories within a 40 second workout.

which admittedly is pathetic. but if i were to spend any more time than that jogging around in circles there would be an actual possibly of provoking frustration induced seizures in my roommates. and i really think one neurologically unhinged member of the room is already too much of a social hazard than we’d all like.

i wonder how long my happy high will last this time? for now, i think i am content.

although… the nike sport armband seems like a great accessory to go with the kit. oh and dommy’s blog post on dommy’s first tri explains the nike amp+ in such elaborate detail, i think i might start with another bad case of the wants. picked up this youtube vid. the led display has me hooked.

seriously, moscow is completely hopeless. i’ve already checked, gone around asking even (for, um, surveying purposes only, i am off retail therapy for the moment. previous blog entry explains)… and the nike stores here don’t have em, naturally.

looks like i’m in for another looong wait.

until then, i think i’ll go watch one more round of juno on my new nano.

Este gorrito Nike es otro novedoso complemento para el IPod Nano.
Está pensado para aquellos a los que no les gustó el Nike Amp+, y además es un poco más asequible, porque cuesta unos 40€, mientras que el Nike Amp+ cuesta 80€.
Este gorrito tiene un bolsillo para meter el IPod Nano, y los coscos son igualmente fáciles de poner que sin el gorrito.
A mí personalmente me perece igual de absurdo que el Nike Amp+.

Que os parece, ahora nos intentan vender un súper complemento para nuestro iPod Nano, que guaiii, si no fuera por dos cosas:

1. Es caro
2. Es absurdo

Esque a mi no me entra en la cabeza como a alguien (si animo de ofender) le puede interesar una pulserita con el botón de play y el de stop, pero eso sí tiene lucecitas y reloj incluido.
Vamos, para mí es otro intento desesperado de ganar dinero con cosas absurdas porque vale 80€ y ademas requiere tener el Nike+iPod (30€) y, obviamente, un iPod nano, se te queda el caprichito en 110€.
