After the Carlos Campos show (which was by far the best presentation at Milk Studios yesterday)- I stopped over at McQueen to get a peek at their sickkk windows. These two gowns, utterly breathtaking (and yes those are shells)- have had no justice done to their beauty by way of my unedited photos (..for a change). And look, absolutely no detail was spared- even Manni’s nails are painted!

Ferragamo has the brilliant and original idea to present his Pre-Fall 2012 at Milan’s train station. A station, the echo of trains softened in the refined atmosphere of an exclusive lounge. Waiting, an ultra-sophisticated woman, naturally elegant in her daytime clothes with the intricate play of printed checks, lozenge and patchwork. On her knees a beauty case, square but soft, made of precious skins.

The Ferragamo girl wears a soft brimmed fedora graced by a feather, an astrakhan-lined leather and python cape and a key by her neck, as a pendant or the buckle of a blouse.

For the evening, brush-stroke check print on silk twill plays with velvet, while pleated chiffon cocktail dresses are enlivened by magnificent geometrical lace embroidery in full colour.

The vibrant tones of the autumnal palette dictate the atmosphere of this voyage: red wine, purple and thyme green, lit up by the comforting softness of neutral hues like camel, tan and leather.

The entire collection is enriched by the luxury of exotic skins: from the Argyle sweater with suede, python and cashmere inlays, to the knitted dress with crocodile, python and ostrich piping, the exclusive allure of the suede suit with crocodile borders and the ostrich overcoat with a check flannel lining.

The spirit of travel is highlighted by the suede beauty cases with python and metal detailing on the padlock-style fastening. Skins, crafted with virtuosity, reversed and raw cut, generate forms that are simple yet constructed, either flat or geometric.

Monday October 3, 2011 – Espace Ephémère Tuileries – Jardin Des Tuileries

It’s the first Chloe show designed by Creative Director Clare Waight Keller and also the most awaited show of the season. The new house creative director has a clear vision of the Chloe girl.

“I own many Chloe pieces from as far as the early 70′s, but I haven’t been inspired much by this vintage vibe. The collection plays around the pleat, the pleat gives this parisienne femininity but I also wanted the Chloe girl to have a boyish attitude” Said a thrilling Clare Waight Keller backstage.

“I looked at festival girls, girls on the street and David Bailey’s photos of Marie Helvin and Anjelica Huston on a beach,” says Keller. “There’s a sense of feminine complicity, sensitivity and sunniness in this collection.”

The collection evolves around a Powdery pallette, from sheer pink to warmer beige seen in silk or in the linnen. Relaxed, confident, the clothes are sensually flowing around the body. Blouses feature a naïve floral prints, or in a play of pleats. The pleats run throughout the collection and show notably as marquetry inlays, or over printed pleats forming sunray stripes. There was also a camel supple lambskin leather jacket paired with white shorts and appealing python metallic copper heels.

“The Chloe girl is recognizable, natural, fresh, with a bit of sophistication, just like when you put a bit of peach blush on your cheeks, it’s still you but you look fresher and prettier, this is the chloe look” confessed Ines de la Fressange to a reporter

At Chloé this season the clutch takes a new turn, in mini version with extra-wide strap or oversized in exotic skins. A new shoulder chain bag and a big tote are proposed in a large selection of beautiful textures, from sensual soft box leathers to very sophisticated exotics. Our favorites are the clutches, especially the python copper metallic one matching the shoes.

Belts are like jewelry with mini necklace chains and snaps and strappy sandals in mirrored silver and copper, or python add polish and there is a new sling back with a loafer style front.

Here is more about the project in his words:

A spontaneous collaboration between Bonae L’amour & 65 models during the S/S 2012 runway season.

As a kid growing up in the city of New Orleans, LA (aka “The Big Easy”), I was nicknamed “B. Easy” for my chill and stress-free demeanor, which was picked up by the friendliness of the people of my hometown.

I collected baseball caps and loved wearing them as a teenager. When I moved away from home, I abandoned a part of the old me because I was trying to be corporate and strict to please a formal girlfriend.

After that breakup, I was reunited with the love of my life Ann, who gifted me with this yellow cap before she died. She had it custom-made so that “B. Easy” was included on the side of the cap to remind me of being true to myself and to continue to live the philosophy of “B.Easy. No Stress. No Stress.”

There has been no greater gift to me, aside from the gift of life, than the yellow cap because it stands for something beyond the motto. It stands for love and being loved and accepted by others for being true to yourself. In my travels to Europe, I took the cap with me to share love and acceptance with others.

“B. Easy” = “Be chill. Relax. No stress. No Stress. Live carefree. No worries. Hakuna Matata.”

The life of a model is very stressful during fashion week. The luxury and glamor that we all see on the runway are not what these catwalkers experience behind the scenes. I traveled to Europe to photograph and cheer them on during the S/S 2012 runway season.In the end, by chance and kindness, 65 high fashion models were great sports and joined the fun. In the spirit of spreading love and the “be easy” or care-free philosophy, they wore this cap so graciously for my camera in Europe. Click here for a full list of all the leading ladies who looked absolutely fly and hot with the cap!

This was a spontaneous collaboration. The cap is not for sale. I just wanted to share the message of love and acceptance with you all.

The Spring 2012 collection was right in line with what the brand does best: polished, simple pieces that any woman could covet because of their functionality and ease. Separates drove the collection forward, but the dresses were so commanding including Tao Okamoto’s easy green shift (shown above), a relaxed yet pristine colorblock number on Nimue Smit, Viktoria Kvalsvik’s burnt orange gown that must be worn on the red carpet, Emily Senko’s effortless leather style and so much more. Akris always presents trousers that make even women like me who are dress aficionados reach for a pair: Roberta Narciso’s chartreuse straight-leg version (shown above), a flowy wide-leg printed pair on Shu Pei Qin, immaculate pleated green trousers on Viktoria Kvalsvik, Alana Zimmer’s form-fitting white pair and more burnt orange with Emilia Nawarecka’s pants featuring white piping down the front.

Leather was a fabric focus in the collection including the aforementioned leather dress on Emily Senko, a cognac hunting-inspired vest on Anais Mali, Liu Wen’s leather varsity jacket and matching skirt and a crossbody sling bag in that same cognac color worn by Shu Pei Qin and Daiane Conterato. It was interesting to see the way Albert Kriemler juxtaposed Akris’ signature modern polish with athletic references, truly defining the term “sportswear”: hoodie dresses in luxe fabrics boasting zipper detailing down their fronts, a camel mesh hoodie on Alex Yuryeva and so much more.

Cameron Diaz is a fan and she would definitely look amazing in the leggy silhouettes shown in the collection.
