So I finally hooked up my Nintendo Gamecube today, after buying at a Goodwill about three weeks ago.

So I finally hooked up my Nintendo Gamecube today, after buying at a Goodwill about three weeks ago. In that time, I picked up three games, one of which was Pikmin.

I took a gamble on it, not knowing much about the game at all, but so far, it’s awesome.

You play as Captain Olimar, and you’ve crash landed on a planet and the parts of his ship, the S.S. Dolphin, are scattered through this new world. Your job is to team up with the Pikmin to explore the worlds and find the ship pieces within 30 days.

You only have a certain amount of time during the day to collect pieces and move onto the next one. You can’t be out during the night because the predators roam the fields, looking for Pikmin to feast on.

First off, it looks fantastic, and not just for the GC. Everything in the world looks vibrant and colorful, and is just great to explore. The Pikmin are very cute, and the enemies are the exact opposite.

I’m not too far into the game to give anymore about it, but I’ll give more impressions later on in the game. I’m sure everyone who is reading this has already played the game already, considering it’s been out for years, and even has a sequel.

finally beat metroid prime 2: echoes this week. (here’s a good run-down of the game for anyone

finally beat metroid prime 2: echoes this week. (here’s a good run-down of the game for anyone who hasn’t played it.) the game seems to be universally praised for being an expansion of the original metroid prime, but the consensus is that it doesn’t offer a whole lot that is new. some people feel that the game does everything that was in the original, but “better”. i was blown away by the original when i played it a few years ago, but much as i love the metroid series i found this entry to be somewhat tedious. the game not only lacks the freshness of the original, it just feels too similar, and its storyline of a threatened alien race feels incredibly stale.

among my complaints are that the game seems twice as long as the first one, and it seems to have a lot more backtracking in general. i’m always skeptical of games that create an “alternate world” in order to reuse much of their design, and like my opinion of final fantasy 3 (a.k.a. 6) the majority of the alternate world in MP2 feels like unnecessary padding. also, when first encountering the “dark” world of MP2 the environments are fittingly drab and somewhat difficult to navigate due to the monochromatic purple color palette. i did appreciate the different feel of the pacing in the dark world, which requires you to hop between the various safe havens of light that are spread out in each room, but by the game’s end the dark world’s galaxy of purple oppressiveness is just boring and dull, dull, dull.

people often mention the boss fights, and they are fun because they require you to actually strategize to determine each boss’s weakpoint; but they’re also somewhat annoying because each boss fight has multiple sections, all of which require some trial and error to master. this definitely gives the boss fights a very same-y feeling, which is unfortunate because for the most part they’re very well designed. the final boss fights are the most annoying of the game, and the game’s ending is pretty lame. i also had mixed feelings about the fact that the game only has three alternate endings: one for if you finish with less than 75% of the items, one for finishing with more than 75%, and one for finishing with 100%. lastly, i didn’t have anyone to try out the multiplayer with, but i checked out all the stages and it looked like it could be pretty fun. not sure why it gets dissed so much, but i’m guessing that’s probably just in comparison to other multiplayer FPS games.

despite all my complaints this was definitely a worthwhile entry in the series and i have a feeling it’s one of those games that’s much more fun the second time through. i’ve already dipped into the next game in the series, metroid prime hunters on DS, and have been quite enjoying the new interface. and i’m really looking forward to playing through metroid prime 3 on wii. and who knows? i may even finish those just in time for the new metroid: other M, due out sometime next year.

metroid (metroid) links (links links links):
- great site on the game at metroid recon, including screenshots, item guides, and a walkthrough
- as with the original metroid prime game, metroid2002.com has tons of information on sequence-breaking and glitches for the sequel
- video of the 100% ending. for all that effort you’ll be rewarded with a few seconds of extra video, yippee!

David James Arquette (born September 8, 1971) is an American actor, film director, producer, screenwriter, and former professional wrestler. He became known during the late 1990s, after having starred in several Hollywood films, including the films of the Scream trilogy. He has since had several television roles, including playing Jason Ventress on ABC’s In Case of Emergency. In addition to his acting career Arquette took a brief foray into professional wrestling in early 2000, competing for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and becoming a one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion; a booking decision often cited as being pivotal to the degradation of the title and the downfall of WCW.

Is the voice of Eddie Wachowski, a character in the EA Sports Big game SSX Tricky (2001) (VG) (for Playstation2, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox).

Since radio host Howard Stern continually referred to his wife as “Courteney Cock” in a 2000 interview, Arquette responded by calling the King of All Media “Howard Sperm”.

Buy this Title on DVD

He was among two people to be a non wrestler and hold the WCW World Title, the other was Vince Russo, a booker. Another non wrestler who held another title was Eric Bischoff, as WCW Hardcore Champion. The company was sold within a year of all of this.

On a 2002 episode of “WWF Raw Is War” (1997), he sat behind announcers Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross for the entire show while holding a sign reading “Former WCW Champion”. He was there simply as a fan, and the announcers never acknowledged him.

Owns the former booking chair from the West Hollywood Police Department which was sat in by a number of different stars when they were arrested, among them Hugh Grant. Arqutte, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins and Arnold Schwarzenegger were all in attendance at the event in one night. This is interesting for that fact that David was a former WCW talent, Billy was a loyal ECW supporter and Arnold had always been a WWF supporter. The WWF showed each one of them on screen. David got a huge laugh for wearing a mask and then ripping it off to show who he was.

Born on the same day as model Brooke Burke and actor Henry Thomas.

He, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Liev Schreiber are the only four actors to appear in all three “Scream” films. Although Jamie Kennedy also appeared in all three films, his character only appeared on a videotape in the third movie.

Well today I was playing an online Video Game Music quiz and I happened upon the opening theme of Cannon Fodder. I’ll just say that I had no idea what was coming there, it starts out with ska chords and goes into “♫ War, never been so much fun…♫” So for the focus of this article I will talk about some attention grabbing intros. Not all of them need take the Cannon Fodder approach but all of them have some quality that makes them unforgettable.

Standout Game Intros

Cannon Fodder
Well I’ve already let the cat out of the bag on this one, so I might as well go ahead and do it first. Cannon Fodder is a strategy war game that takes a very strong satirical approach on War. So much that it hit on controversy with the picture shown above. The flower shown is the corn poppy, which is the symbolic flower of WW 1, and when veterans discovered that this was going to be used there was an uproar against it. Needless to say the poppy was removed from the box but it is still in the opening screen of the game.
As for the intro screen, well I won’t type out all of the lyrics because it’s a better experience checking it out for yourself. Some might say that systems like the Amiga were the golden age of games because makers cared much more about their content and made very fun, intelligent games; which stands out in this game where despite opposition, the designers still put the game out.

Donkey Kong 64
I’m not even sure that I have to say much for this one because if anyone reading this ever picked up this game… well you know exactly what I’m about to say: DK Rap. Yes, the infamous rap so terrible that you would desperately hit start as soon as you could hear ♫boom cha boom boom cha♫ and hopefully you got to the demo start screen before ” So they’re finally here, performing for you.. etc..” Let’s just say I do know that words and I could join in too. In any event, it caught your attention all right.

Chrono Cross
Well this intro I hadn’t seen until I did some research, and I can say that I was blown away. I wouldn’t say that it does anything new or original in its cinematography, but it’s the music that makes the video amazing. “Scars of Time” is one of Mitsuda’s best works. The song has so many powerful elements to it, and every one of them fits the video so perfectly that it becomes riveting. Even the words at the beginning are poetic enough to keep your attention: “Yet even then we ran like the wind/Whilst our laughter echoed,/Under cerulean skies…”

Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
Here is an intro that really set the mood for the entire game to come. MM has one of the most dark intros (and is one of the darkest games) I’ve ever seen, particularly for a Zelda game. First, the camera pans down to a gloomy dark forest only to have Link waylaid and pass out, then some creepy masked Skull kid makes off with Epona and drags you behind. Only after being freed do you desperately chase after (now doing flips when you jump) to fall intro a pit of blackness with disorientating shapes to find out that Skullkid ‘got rid of’ Epona!

Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy is a series that always has attention grabbing intros, but I just found that 8 had the most, “WTF?!@” kind of feeling to it. When it opens all you see is a nice, sunny beach. Then all of the sudden this malevolent chorus comes in singing Latin and it becomes a huge tense contrast. As if that wasn’t enough, the waves begin to talk to you:

“I’ll be here…”

“…Why?…”

“…so…”

The way that text comes up it reminds me of an evil, crazy villain like the Joker; just toying with Batman or his victims. This text continues to appear as the song builds and now goes to a flowery field, and it snowballs from there.

Shenmue
This game has been mentioned in the past here on Continue but the intro video was not discussed. This game intro is perfect in the hollywood sense. It has well fitted music, lots of careful, realistic camera angles, and it has a compelling story. Some of the camera angles from the trees really make it tense.

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Before I even talk about this game - which was orignally for the console MSX, and it’s the only version I count (Nintendo failed hard on the port) – I have to say that the soundtrack is fantastic. The song chosen for the opening is so fitting to a spy/Tom Clancy style of movie that you could watch it with popcorn. All scene changes and appearances of the schematics of the Metal Gear weapon are very drawing and I can honestly say that this is a timeless trailer, and it was made 19 years ago.

Fallout
Well, I can say that I always liked this game for its style. The old tyme music is fantastic to say the least, but the irony of it just makes the game great to watch or play. The video is no exception and the irony and contrast as the tv pulls away is as attention grabbing as when the TV dies. Then, of course, the narrator comes in and you’ve no choice but to watch it out.

Dune
Dune is a game that I have yet to play, but I think it is a game that every gamer should. Anyone who plays it will claim it had an influence on them to some degree, and it’s a landmark in gaming in more ways that one. The soundtrack by Stephane picq is unique and excellent, and the intro video has some sort of power to it. It has urgent music, and despite the fact that technology only allows flashes of images in many cases (and no voices or sfx), it’s still done in a way that really keeps you looking. Especially the quick snappy shots and moving faces.

Sonic CD
Sonic CD has been a favorite opening of mine since I first booted it up on the Sega CD. Cartoon or not the video is awesomely epic and “Sonic Boom” is one of the greatest songs ever. Kudos Spencer Nilson, he really made the image of sonic flying at the Robotnik Death Star something to remember.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
After the simple intro of a glove carrying a stock character onto a table in Super Smash Bros., I can’t say that I expected much from this intro, but it really went in a different direction. It is a very action-packed, snappy intro with quick character and music changes and cool character freeze frames.

So to tie up this eclectic mix of ending themes, I’ll just say that some of the biggest surprises seem to come from the most unexpected places. I didn’t expect a sequel to have a fantastic trailer compared to the original, or that the larger portion of attention drawing intros for me would be some of the earliest games.

Dolphin started as a Nintendo Gamecube emulator, but now it also has support for Nintendo Wii and basic Triforce emulation (this is pending a commit, and does not run games yet). Gamecube compatibility is quite good – many games work, but games still don’t work. The main Nintendo games like Zelda, Mario Sunshine and Pikmin and some others might have problems without sound. Nintendo Wii compatibility is not as good as the Gamecube compatibility, but several games are fully playable, and lots of games are showing intros and running almost ok. Dolphin can currently only run “images”, also known as ISO or GCM files, of Gamecube and Wii games, since a PC DVD drive cannot read the discs directly.

Another Mario review, and this one might just be the most underrated game in the series…

Yes, this gem of a game for the GameCube – Super Mario Sunshine. In my opinion, it’s very overlooked and underrated by even the most hardcore of Mario gamers. (Though the game did sell 5.5 million copies…) It is bright and colorful, but best of all, it has that classic Mario platforming style – with a twist. Instead of just running and jumping around various levels, you have to use your water pack (FLUDD) to reach new heights, obtain certain objects and overcome obstacles. Along the way, you must clean up Isle Delfino where a mysterious Mario-like entity has vandalized every inch of the once-beautiful tourist trap. It’s been compared to Super Mario 64, and often these comparisons rule in favor of the genre-defining N64 classic. Not to say Mario 64 is bad, bu it’s really too bad that a game this good is overlooked. Come on, it’s a freaking Mario game! One of my favorites, without a doubt. I give this game a 9/10 because even though it is wonderful and every self-respecting Nintendo geek should get the chance to play it, Super Mario Galaxy remains the better game. (I still love you Sunshine!)

And as a bonus, here’s a recent review of the game done by MN12BIRD:

I first played this game on my Nintendo GameCube, since then I was hooked. I may be a few years or so late but I have nothing else to blog about at the moment. I honestly can’t think of a better game made by EA besides Most Wanted, The Sims, and Mirror’s Edge. In the racing genre Most Wanted is the best and it looks like they put two feet in this game and not just one. I’ve always been a fan of Need for Speed but recently the games have been sucking, even undercover sucked. Although I’ve beaten Need for Speed numerous times in under 3 days, it never gets old to me. Its always addictive as the first day I played it.

I love being chased by the cops and getting my bounty up. I love dodging the spike strips and the moving roadblocks. Most of all I like tearing up police cruisers with pursuit breakers and at sometimes with my own car. My favorite car(s) on Most Wanted is the Porsche and Lamborghini. I’m unstoppable in those cars as far as getting away from the cops is concerned.

I still have my Nintendo Gamecube and my Need For Speed Most Wanted, and I’ve been tempting to pull it out and play it but I want to get it on the Xbox 360 just so I won’t have to pull out my GameCube. I’m a bit lazy so that’s probably why I haven’t pulled it out yet. I rent my games now from Gamefly and I think when and if I ever get this game from them that I’m going to buy if it isn’t that badly damaged. Or I might get lucky and find a copy of it online some where because I can’t seem to find it on Gamestop.com which is kind of weird. I don’t care about the graphics as much as the next gamer do because that’s not what makes up the game entirely. The storyline may be cheesy as hell but that doesn’t matter to me. I love this game and as long as my hands haven’t been cursed with Arthritis, or Carpal Tunnel, I’m going to continue to play this game. I know when I do get this game I won’t let it go ever.

Excuse me if I sound a bit possessive or insane but I love this game and in my opinion this is the best racing game to date [lol]. HDTV + Xbox 360 + Need for Speed: Most Wanted = The best money you’ll ever spend. The fact that you have Free Roam in the game, you can’t go wrong with that because the storyline is a bit short but who cares?

The reason why I only singled out those 3 games were in fact in my opinion the best games EA has ever made.

With New Play Control!, you were promised remakes of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the Wii, enhanced with motion controls. That’s nothing new to hardcore Nintendo fans. What came as a surprise was the sudden announcement that all 3 games will be re-packaged on to one disc – Metroid Prime Trilogy, coming August 24 of this year.

The games will be mostly unchanged besides the obvious control revamp. Kotaku noted some minor tweaks in their preview, including faster load times, doors will now open quicker, extra bloom lighting (woohoo!), a16:9 widescreen resolution and the extra air-gaining ball jump trick from MP3 is now available in Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2. Also, you can unlock some neat extras by accomplishing tasks across all 3 games. These prizes include music, artwork, and even a Mii bobblehead for Samus’ ship.

Better yet, the entire collection will retail for only $49.99. For those who missed out on these games, this is a great deal, considering that MP3 goes for the same price by itself.

Where should I begin? The beginning is a bit too far but I guess I could start there. Before I do, I would just like to note that life, love, living is what you make it. Whether if its with a companion or alone, its your choice on how it ends.

I met Cedric on a site called Crushspot, I had just moved back in at my grandmothers place because she needed help with her grand kids. I haven’t been on Crushspot in 2 years before I had moved out so I decided to see if the site was still up and running, and it was. I was 19 at the time and being that he was 25 or 26 then he seemed younger than that. We talked online for a while, its a blur who started talking to who first, anyway we talked on Crushspot for a while then migrated to Yahoo Messenger then gradually we started talking on the phone. We got up to the point to where we decided that we should finally meet up some where, at this time we weren’t together because I don’t believe in internet relationships. So, we set up a day and I met him downtown except I didn’t get to see him, I waited for a good hour or so and decided to get on the bus and go home. So an hour after I get home Ced messages me on Yahoo Messenger asking where was I, I told him I was in front of Tower City and I hopped on the #6 when I thought you weren’t coming. He then began asking me was that me who got on the bus when he was getting off? He mentioned the pink Nikes I had on and I then began to say yea, so we set up another day and this time he came and picked me up, I thought it was really cute at the time. So we’re on the #8 bus heading downtown and he’s looking at me asking all these questions on the bus like they couldn’t wait til we got to his place. Mind you, when I saw him in his pictures, he looked a lot taller but when he finally came to pick me up all of that changed. I thought he was one of my younger sisters friends coming to see them but it was him. I was light way embarrassed because of that.

Anyway, we get to his place and he grabs my bags and hooked up my Nintendo GameCube that he decided that we should play. We made it more interesting by making it a strip game, the rules were simple, for every race we did who ever lost had to strip off a piece of clothing. Well I was winning but Ced was making up all of these new rules the whole time so we dismissed that idea and decide to go in his room and watch the movie Life. I had a few drinks around this time so after me being intoxicated I don’t really remember what happened. That following morning I had a hangover and my stomach was upset I kept vomiting so he suggested I take a shower cause my pores were just reeking Aboslut Apeach Vodka so I hopped in the shower and he suggested I drink some water, well it was making me sick so I drink it anyway and decided it was time for me to head home, he wanted to walk me to the elevator but when we hit the corner right where the elevator was I said, “I think I got to throw up…” then I threw up and we headed back to his apartment. I was feeling great then, but I wanted to clean that mess up that I left in the hallway but Ced insisted that I just head home and that he will get the janitor to clean it up. So I finally leave and made it home with my GameCube and I decided to take a nap. At this point, I didn’t know what to think, my head was hurting so I couldn’t think too much but I don’t know what he thought of me, I mean that was my first time meeting someone off of a website like that and you know first impressions are everything. That whole time though I really wanted to remember the night before but never could, it kind of frustrated me that I would get that loose like that. Even though there was some things going on with at that time and I needed an excuse to get away from it all but I was expecting to do that in the comfort of my own home.

I thought Ced was adorable and really funny, even though I couldn’t remember most of the night after I got drunk, I had a pretty good time. Well as time progressed we became a thing and he made me happy and I guess I made him happy. I believe at one point we were in love, I mean it were times where I didn’t want to go home or there were times where I just wanted to be around him, I missed him a lot and we told each other we loved each other a lot. My life was okay at this time, it was the end of 2006 and I really thought I was going to bring in the new year on a good foot and I did for a minute.

After we got comfortable with each other, that’s when the arguing started. Its February of 2007 and I’m arguing with him and the fact that he’s still on that site. He would just say he on there for entertainment and such but I knew better, or maybe I was just paranoid. I mean the arguing would just make me unreasonable decisions and a few of them were me leaving him. Well I had gotten enough of him around Spring and decided to call it quits and I left him and started messing with someone else April and May but that didn’t last long and I was with someone else in June, that relationship lasted a good 7 months. To this day I still don’t understand what I saw in that fool but I’m glad he dumped me like he did. Shows me that there are cowardly, pitiful, sad men out there and that was just a lesson I needed to learn. I was hurt about that for a while but I got over it. Ced was in and out of the picture towards the end of the relationship I was having with someone else. Well when it was over we began talking again and I kept leaving him because it felt like I was wasting my time with him, It was like how it used to be.

Its 2008 at this time and things have gotten worse for me as far as family and my health was concerned. I was ready to commit suicide but I don’t know what kept me from doing it, I was so ready to just end it. Now that I think about it, I don’t recall why I wanted to end my life, I just hope I never feel like that ever again. I mean its been like that for 18-19 years, I thought I was over thinking about death. Anyway, my family as being a royal pain to me and was giving me such a problem I just wanted to get away from it all. I think at this time I was talking to Ced yet again and I was just being to myself and just hanging with a few of my male friends. Well, I cut them loose as soon as I got back with Ced. Anyway, I was bringing in 2009 on a sour foot but I had Ced there with me in my mind because yet again I broke up with him just to want him back. Around October or November of 2008 my grandmother decided to kick me out and to have the police do it as a bonus. I had just left Ced again and when I had moved back in with my grandmother it was like she didn’t want me to and I didn’t know why I didn’t keep entertaining that idea that she didn’t but I ignored it. Well after 2 weeks she had decided to kick me out so I had the police drop me off at Ced’s house, at this point I’m so angry with myself I just began crying. Ced was in the other room knocked out so I tried to keep it down. What is so interesting about Ced is that when I’m sad he have this vibe or body language as if he don’t know what to do, when my best friend died I could feel that he felt really awkward standing there rubbing my back. I just wanted to hug and just cry on his shoulder but then I just felt that would just make the awkward feeling a lot worse and I didn’t want to do that.

Well from that point on to now we’ve been together since. I haven’t broken up with him, we still argue but not a lot, I mean what relationship don’t have arguments? During this whole time, I just tried to focus on making him happy cause I pictured how he would be before he even met me and he seemed like he was alone with only his friends to come by and break his shit or have someone rob him. I seriously just wanted to be there for him and I still do, I honestly don’t want to lose him. When that shooting happened here in this building I didn’t know what to do, I was just thinking about the worse case scenario that afternoon and that made it worse, I was so scared and I just knew if he was killed or hurt I would never get over that. He may not realize it but I really love him more than he will ever know. We don’t tell each other we love each other any more but I think we need to. I’m not going any where and neither is he, I’m going to be there for him even if this relationship don’t work out. It just feels like, I’m the only one that would, could, will put him and his bullshit I guess. I don’t know how else to put it but its not bad bullshit its Ced bullshit…lol. I mean he’s him and and someone sane or some what sane wouldn’t be able to tolerate his behind. He don’t have to worry about being alone any more he has me to piss off and then five minutes later make me laugh. In all my years on this Earth, he is the only one that I can just get made for 2 minutes and just be okay after that. I can never stay mad at him, I never been the one to hold grudges but they usually last longer than 5-6 minutes, I just cannot stay mad at him. That’s probably why I kept coming back to him. Its not that I enjoyed what he was doing to make me leave even though I think it was just me being over emotional, it was because I could actually say I love him and meant it.

He always tried to make me happy but I guess I was used to not being happy I didn’t know what made me happy any more, I was too focused on trying to make him happy but he always told me to not worry about him and that he will be okay. If I would of listened to him, I wouldn’t be here right now. Even though I make fun of his height, I love all 5′5″ of him and I hope he knows that I adore his high-yellow behind. Even though he tried to kill my stuffed dog when I first met him…even my ex tried to kill him so I just gave it to my grandmother. I didn’t like red, neither does Ced, and neither did that horrid ex of mine so I guess that was a sign to get rid of it. Here’s a picture of him in the act…

For a minute I was convinced when he said that we were too alike for the relationship to work, well I beg to differ. We may have some things about us that are the same but we are totally different in so many ways.

Another thing, he’s a Christian, I’m an Atheist. I don’t have a problem at all with his religion and he don’t care about my anti-religion. That’s just one of the things we can agree on, a religion doesn’t make a relationship stronger. I’m living proof that it doesn’t, it doesn’t make it stronger or weaker. It depends on the person and what they believe or don’t believe in. Anyway, I’ve said some hateful and cruel things to him and about him over the years. I just hope he know I’m sorry and I didn’t mean any of that shit I said. He knows I say shit when I’m angry regardless of what people say about what people say when they’re angry. He pisses me off cause I love him, I wouldn’t get so angry with him if I didn’t love him. He’s crazy though to want me to give him 3 girls and 5 boys. I want all boys but he wants 3 girls, I mean I can understand why though but that’s something I’m not going to mention in this blog. All in all this relationship should of never been one but I’m glad it did and I’m happy/grateful that he’s in my life. He’s exactly what I need to have a reason to wake up in the morning.

Suuuuuuuper spelet!

i’ve been playing the original super monkey ball off and on for a while now, but i sat down and finished advanced mode and tackled expert mode … only to be completely waylaid by expert level 7. apparently this is one of the harder levels in the game, and although i was finally able to beat it in practice mode, i was so demoralized at the thought of having to beat it again and again and again that i set the game aside for now. but it should be noted that levels that i had trouble with in advanced mode became pretty easy after i played through them numerous times, so it’s likely that i’ll eventually master that level as well as the rest of the game given enough time.

aside from the painful level of difficulty there was a lot i enjoyed. first off, it’s always nice to see a new IP, and sega scored an immediate hit with their debut of the monkey ball series. the presentation has the same unique combination of stylish/cool/cute that sega has become known for. the difficulty can perhaps be attributed to sega as well, although it’s notable that amusement vision, a subsidiary of sega, also worked on the similarly painfully-difficult-but-fun-and-stylish f-zero GX, which i played a while back. this game is also known for including a slew of much-better-than-average party games, including monkey fight which i became somewhat addicted to (probably one of the few party games that i’ve gotten hooked on).

it’s also notable that this was a launch title for the gamecube, because the controls are so spot on and the graphics are pretty solid. i’m curious about how the versions on the other platforms fared, because the gamecube analog control stick proved to be nice and sensitive, although at times it felt a bit too large and thus awkward under my thumb. maybe i just have small hands. i also appreciated the fact that given enough playthroughs eventually you’ll unlock unlimited continues, making getting to the higher levels much less of a remote possibility (although to unlock everything you still have the challenge of making it through on one life or one continue). at times i felt that this game should’ve been called “a million and one ways to watch a monkey fall off of a cliff”, but in any case, i’ll definitely be coming back to this one and checking out the various sequels.

Remember the lawsuit filed against Nintendo by Fenner Investments, claiming that the Wii, its controllers and even the GameCube’s controller violated a few of their patents? Turns out that they didn’t, so a U.S. District Court judge dismissed the case. Here’s what NOA’s Senior Vice President had to say about the outcome:

“We are very pleased with the court’s decision,” said Rick Flamm, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President, Legal & General Counsel. “Nintendo has a long history of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. We also vigorously defend patent lawsuits when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party’s patent, despite the risks that this policy entails. I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the tireless efforts of our legal team, which represented us so well.”

Hello everyone this is my first post on my blog. I’m looking for donation of any video games, systems, accessories and video game pins from any time period (60’s, 70’s, 80’s and so on). Please don’t throw away, burn, shoot or anything else to kill or deface any video games. Stop the video games you have from worrying everytime you walk into the room about being traded-in, thrown across the room, taken apart or any other type of destruction. I will give the video games, systems, accessories a good home and they will not have to worry about getting traded or killed in anyway.

I will keep everyone up to date on what people send, from where, pictures and even thier names if they would like. I do have a lot of games now but it does cost a lot of money to keep up with it. Please help a video game fan out with a real love of games for a very long time. If anyone would like to donate please email me and I will get back to you ASAP. If I do get more video games then I need I will donate them to local hositals, sheller and charities so all kids can play video games.

I DO NOT WANT ANY MONEY JUST THE VIDEO GAMES, SYSTEMS and ACCESSORIES. PLEASE HELP !!!!
