Andrea arrived on Thursday afternoon for her Fall Break Extravaganza. We went back to my place and ended up catching the Blue Angels fly over the city. Another moment when I was thankful for my view. We waited for Niamh to come up since we had all decided to go to the Academy of Sciences for Nitelife.

Before the Academy of Sciences we randomly found the Cha Cha Cha. Dalina had recommended it. The food was fantastic as was its famous Sangria. I definitely would suggest a visit there.

So what is cool about Thursday nights at the Academy of Sciences is that it pretty much turns into a huge bar. You get to see all the exhibits inside, but with alcohol in your hands.

It. Is. AWESOME.

Beer in one hand and squishy sea life in the other = Good Times.

When you are buzzed off Sangria and Beer. Aquariums seem so much cooler.

With all due respect to Johnny Depp, this city’s history isn’t always about gangsters.

Sometimes, it’s about the moll.

So we’d like to introduce The Red Canary, an alluring vamp of a cocktailing parlor opening soon in River West, and we’ve got tickets for Thursday’s VIP preview blowout.

Located in that meandering 1918 building last occupied by Avenue M, the space now looks more like a Charlie Chaplin film directed by Frank Miller. You’ll walk in to find a stylized mural of Louise Brooks (the Megan Fox of 1929) peeking down from the second-floor catwalk and silent movies above the bar. Down a few house cocktails (grapefruit-infused vodka, Chambord and fresh lime juice) and supply your own rat-a-tat dialogue.

And while the main bar has the unmistakable feel of a jazz-era den of iniquity—exposed brick, big red booths and one enormously looming crystal chandelier swaying overhead—you may feel the need for some fresh air (and some Angus sliders or buttermilk fried quail). So move the proceedings to the ivy-covered confines of the back patio.

And if bottle service is your thing, Red Canary is happy to hook you up—but no pressure. If you’re fine with beer, they’ll even be offering five-liter table taps soon.

Just say it’s root beer if Eliot Ness crashes.

Last night was a blast people…for what I can remember. I am basing this off the fact that I am in a strange bed laying next to this lovely albanian chick I meet at a club to be named later. (I can’t put y’all on to my point.) Anyways, the girl and all her friends had more combined curves than the Indy 500. NO BS! Now I have had my share of aggressive women before but this one of on her game last night. People…someone has to let me know, was this a rare event or are all Albanian women like this? Not sure what the reason for this Vanity Fair magazine gathering was, but judging from how everyone was dressed, it was a pretty high-fashion affair.  The party included Fergie, Keyshia Cole and Kim Kardashian. Kim looks great here. She may make her share of mistakes, but one thing she knows how to do well is play up her ASSets and sultry Armenian good looks. Fergie on the other hand, I’m not so sure about. This dress I’m not feeling. It’s got a sort of Century 21 Edge to it that’s bugging me. I love the Fergster as a preformer and an entertainer but I’m never sure what style lane she’s shooting for. She confuses me and not in a good way! On the flip Kehshia, whose dress also bugged me looks like a great wedding cake not a dress. From the front it was insanely busy and that is never a good thing!
