There are many ways to save money and have fabulous wedding make-up for your big day. Even if you don’t have a clue about wedding make up salon or wedding make up or don’t normally wear any, there are still many bridal make-up options for you to play around with. Even if you are a complete minimalist and terrified of cosmetics, trying out some semi-sheer lip glosses would be fun.

If you want to hire someone to do your wedding make up salon or wedding make up or you want to do it yourself but need help, the #1 beauty tip i can give is to get yourself to a make-up counter with a skilled staff! For those of you lucky enough to have a mac counter at your nearest department store, their cosmetics staff come highly recommended by many. Their staff has to train for a long time before they do makeovers, so they know what they are doing and you (hopefully!) Won’t come out looking like a clown. The makeovers are free with a 4 product purchase, which usually comes out to around $60. I know quite a few girls who made appointments at the mac counter the morning of their wedding for super savings, however i’ve been informed by a mac artist that if they know it is for your wedding they will turn you away and not do your make-up. However, you can hire a mac artist for your wedding day make up salon for $150. In addition to mac, the sephora stores are also a great place to try out make-up and learn from the staff.

If you don’t have mac or sephora in your area, chances are you still do have some sort of a department store, and most of the major (fine) cosmetics brands will do makeovers (clinique, lancome, estee lauder to name a few) and these are generally free or free with a purchase. Another option is to ask around…everybody knows somebody who sells mary kay or avon and these consultants usually know a thing or two about make up and will give you a free consultation.

The benefits of going to a make-up counter to figure out your bridal make-up options are numerous. At the very least you’ll learn what not to do! If you are planning to do your own make-up you will likely learn a lot and even some new tips that you never though of. If you are clueless about make up, cosmetics staff will help you immensely with choosing colors that look right on you.

If you want to hire someone you can often ask the person doing your makeover (assuming you like the results) if they are willing to do your bridal make up salon the day of. Chances are they have already done this and their prices are generally way cheaper than someone labeled as a “bridal make up salon.” At the very least, they can generally recommend someone to you.

Another tip if you are doing your own bridal make-up on a budget is to check the cosmetic return policy of drugstores near you. Many drugstores have excellent return policies for cosmetics and let you return them with a receipt even if they’ve been opened and tried out! This is a wonderful thing to try the bridal make up salon out at home because we’ve all had the horror of something looking great in the store and awful once you get home. This way you can try out colors without breaking the bank.

i realize i have very few tricks up my sleeve. and i have one smile. but really, i seriously think those are four different people.

“Dearest Malibu,

God knows what day it is. Everyday blurs into one, which is annoying when you want to know wht day it is, but also good when you’re trying to forget life exists outside of my new ‘American’ life. I know it’s not even been a week yet, but it’s so wierd. It’s almost like life didn’t exist before; the returning staff call it a ‘bubble’ and I know wht they mean. Life outside the camp boundaries doesn’t exist… well not until we finally get a day off and a chance to visit Walmart!! Soooo soooo excited about that… which is tomorow… I can finally by a new suitcase ~(I’ll explain later) somethign really unhealthy to eat and something so grossly American it will make you feel sick. So, right, where do I begin?? Once you left me on that delightful afternoon / morning I went and met my friend Vicky who was there and waiting, checked in etc… got frisked / asked to remove belts / shoes etc and hen met our camp ‘friends’ at the alcohol and duty free section. So blah blah blah and a gay air host (ess??) plus High School Muscial 3 and 8 hours later we arrived JFK NYC!!!! We met this Irish girl who ws also going to our camp (Debbie) who we know really well now; us 3 are the CCUSA triangle tis very funny nd something you may appreciate one day whilst sunning ourselves on Malibu beach in like 2 months time. Anyways, so we drove through New York to get to our hotel… A M A Z I N G as when we got into NY the sun was just abou to set and he sky was all red and it was just beautiful!! **Miss Kitty has tried to recreate this sunset city scape a la black biro next to this sentence…**Honestly, the harbour was a view to die for! So yes… back to my previous point about the suitcase… basically, my bag nearly killed me. We had to take 2 buses the day after… so lifting and carrying the bag wasn’t fun and I’m going to get another one on wheels to lighten the load!! FIRST YELLOW CAB RIDE!!! Also amazing!!

So anyways, we finally arrived at camp after a long few days of sitting down and it was just so pretty. Once we drove further away from civilisation (quite literally) the mountains and lakes are awesome. Literally nothing you could ever imagine… and its wierd cos the American highways throught there just seem to work really well and be like really contrasting?? So yes… anyway… the camp itself is quite small which is nice… like the traditional red and white American stables and then little brown cabins. It’s all pretty basic, and literally NO_ONE wears make-up… my hair looks a MESS but it really doesn’t matter. I’m in a cabin with 9 other counsellors, some old – some new, but this is until the campers arrive on Sunday and then we go live with them in their cabins. We’re doing our staff orientation atm; frightfully dull but helpful all the same. But I don’t think any amount of lecturing / training can help unless you get some hands on experience. Arrrgh! I’m running out of room!! I’ll send you another update soon with the trials and tribulations of trying to survive within a group ruled by “Queen-Bees” – or at least, so they think!Love you lots. So we all love 2NE1… they’re so cute and sassy right? Who knew this is what they’d look like out of make up! Well Dara and Bom aren’t bad… natural beauties… but Minzi and CL? Dude were they taking mug shots? Because that’s what it looks like. Honestly, that doesn’t even look like CL. She has bangs too, in these photo’s there are no bangs, but then again I don’t know how long ago these photo’s were taken.  Seriously though, who let the dogs out?

I keep having these reoccurring dreams…over and over.  Each time the theme is similar but the subject matter will change slightly, depending on the night.

I wouldn’t even call them dreams – they’re more like NIGHTMARES!

I have them about once a week.

And they’re all about this BLASTED WEDDING!

The latest one I had, I didn’t order my wedding dress accessories and I didn’t get a chance to get my dress fitted.  Only later, in the dream, I realized that I hadn’t even RECEIVED my dress.  Somehow I woke up the morning of my wedding I was like, “Darn, my bridal boutique didn’t call me!” AND THE WEDDINGS IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS! In fact, my dress has never been tailored?!?! Oh darn, now I have to wear my reception dress the whole day..but wait – I didn’t get that cleaned…so its going to have this faint red pin mark (which of course in my dream is about the size of a 3 inch red lipstick mark)!

and OH YEAH, I don’t have time to get my hair done, so I will have to do it myself!

RIDICULOUS, huh?

the sad part is, every morning I wake up on the verge of tears….panicked and feeling as though I need to get up and RUN and do something….

then about 5 seconds later, I realize it’s a dream and I laugh an uncertain, am I sure this was a dream? wait a minute, it’s gotta be a dream, it’s only July, my wedding is approx 3 months away, calm down girl – sorta laugh…

“There once was a girl-bird named Gertrude McFuzz
And she had the smallest plain tail ever was.
One droopy-droop feather. That’s all that she had.
And, oh! That one feather made Gertrude so sad” (Seuss 1).

Miss Gertrude McFuzz is one of many Dr. Seuss creations. She is an insecure little bird with a one-feathered tail, and what male bird would be attracted to a birdie such as her? Gertrude stares with longing at the tail of Miss Lolla-Lee-Lou. Cringing with jealousy because she wants two feathers too. (Watch out, Doctor! Make way for the rhymes I can cook up!) For me, Gertrude’s story is relatable.
Back when I was in seventh grade, we performed Seussical Jr – a mixture of many Dr. Seuss characters into one fantastic musical with a reminiscent plot. I was not even going to try out but I finally convinced myself to do it. What do you know? I landed one of the most important roles in the entire musical: little Miss Gertrude McFuzz.
Looking back on that particular time of my life, I find that the obvious similarity between Gertrude and me obviously was not obvious to me until now. Seventh grade was the year where I realized that I was not wearing the “right” clothes. Surrounding me were these perfectly made-up girls wearing skin-tight name-brand clothing, and then there was me: the girl with the curly hair (which apparently was frowned upon for everyday use), no make-up, chewed fingernails, loose-fitting jeans, and a simple tee shirt that I surely must have gotten on clearance at Old Navy. (I am a bargain shopper, what can I say?)

“She got very jealous. She frowned. And she pouted.
Then one day she got awfully mad and she shouted:
‘This just isn’t fair! I have one! She has two!
I MUST have a tail just like Lolla-Lee-Lou!’” (Seuss 2).
So, I bought those clothes. I traded forty dollars for two skimpy tops, and then my piggy bank was empty. For about a year I spent every dollar I earned or received on the “acceptable” clothing, and then I suddenly stopped caring. Once Gertrude took one of those pills to make her tail grow, she was greedy for more. She never stopped wanting. Like Gertrude, I had become greedy. I craved money just so I could put it directly into the cash register at Hollister. I lost myself in the process.
“Then she spread out her wings to take off from the ground,
But, with all those feathers, she weighed ninety-pound!
She yanked and she pulled and she let out a squawk,
But that bird couldn’t fly! Couldn’t run! Couldn’t walk!” (Seuss 11).
Gertrude’s insatiable appetite for those pills was fueled by the desire to meet and compete with Miss Lolla-Lee-Lou; and eventually win. She never stopped wanting more. Two… three… four… seven… even nine feathers just would not cut it. The story of “Gertrude McFuzz” presents a very important theme in life. Appreciating the little things (or in Gertrude’s case, the one-feathered tails) is important.
It is coincidental that I played Gertrude McFuzz in our production of Seussical Jr. Gertrude’s story is a metaphor for what I went through in my last two years of Middle School. I went to the other side and found that though the grass is greener, I am perfectly content with my side. Sometimes the sprinklers fail and draughts occur, but too much green is just too perfect. I enjoy a brown patch every now and then.
“And, finally, when all of the pulling was done,
Gertrude, behind her, again had just one…
That one little feather that she had as a starter.
But now that’s enough, because now she is smarter” (Seuss 15).

he’s a slick one.  lovable, cuddly, snugly, and quite cute.  somehow, he’s learned the art of priming the pump to get what he wants.  you know what i’m talking about i’m sure, when your child nuzzles up to you and says all kinds of stuff like i love, you’re so pretty…may i have a (insert child’s desire – candy, toys, privilege, etc.). my boy has got this down to a science.

of course there are times, lots and lots of times that he says the sweetest things, out of the clear blue. and. it. just. makes. my. heart. melt.

well, the other day he really gave it to me.  i was stunned and could not stop smiling or laughing…like really hard.

myles:  (stroking my hair and staring directly into my eyes)  mommy, i don’t mind when you look really gross.  i love you all the time.

me: (sitting there with messy hair and putting on my face moisturizer) why, thank you myles for loving me unconditionally.  and that means you love me no matter what.

myles:  (shaking his head up and down, looking at me with, ummm, concern) well, i really do love you. 

i can only imagine what he was thinking in that little head of his.  dang…mommy looks kinda jacked up without makeup! teehee

Okay, so i bet most of us already do understand this. Just because you are famous, doesnt mean that you actually are anything but human. But still, their sure is a lot of younger people, both Dudes and Girlies that feel bad about themself because of how Celebs are put on display with lots of Make-Up, Photoshoping and such. So this is why i today and further will find good pictures at famous people and how they really look, in their all so natural state.

Here we got Jessica Biel, known from movies such as ¨Stealth¨, ¨Blade: Trinity¨ and ¨I now pronounce You Chuck and Larry¨.

The only thing I added was concealer and a little eye liner.  The rest was their products. 

I really enjoyed the lipstick as it’s the one that stays on all day.  Just be careful to correct any mistakes quickly or they are harder to come off.  This is my favorite type of lipstick though because I need it to stay on without reapplying all day! 

Not too long ago I decided to go into a expensive makeup store and see what all the fuss was.  I got a couple of things and one was mascara that the lady recommended.  I spent way too much (compared to drug store) and was not that impressed.  I now have the two, Max Factor and the expensive one, in my makeup and I choose the Max Factor one every time.

The powder was nice.  I like to use a bronzer since I am so fair skinned, but it was nice and neutral.  The brush was a normal type brush with no particular features that I would say I must have.

I really enjoyed playing with these products and would enjoy trying more from Max Factor.
