BE CAREFUL Music Video

When you have two of Norah Jone’s songs – ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ and ‘No One’ – played in the same gig set, you realise how utterly inferior and cheap the latter is, placed alongside the former. ‘No one’ is the kind of song written for Everyone (most ironically), the kind where you can just let it play in the background, be oblivious to lyrics except the chorus ‘No one, no one…’ and just groove yourself to the hip-hop beat. Then again, all creative people have their hits and misses, so ‘No One’ is a miss in my opinion.

Just for the record, we managed to segue ‘Where is the Love’ by the Black-Eyed Peas with the song, so that probably reveals how commodified the song is… in the same manner in which we fused ‘I Will Survive’ with ‘Nobody’ by the Wondergirls.

Heres Camile again. I really love this. I still watch this after a year of this being introduced to me. She’s so pretty!!!

on November 3rd – errr-today. CORZINE or CHRISTIE – DUMB or DUMBER? Frankly they are bad men. One is a lawyer appointed by George W Bush – one of the worst presidents we have ever had in the POTUS position and then there is business man Corzine – not a lawyer but definitely a LIAR. He promised to lower taxes by 40 percent yet somehow they went up by that percentage? Either he’s a jerk or he’s pandering to the wrong set of thugs in Trenton.

In either case he failed to lower property taxes or any taxes and he failed to reign in the crooks in Trenton; the special interest lobby people he is now dancing a jig for and the height of all ridiculousness, Obama comes to NJ to stump for Corzine. Now I now I’m not voting for him.

But whom do I vote for? I don’t want to sit there and watch a fat man lawyer get fatter on my penny. I would have written dime but frankly the change Obama and Bush were talking about was pennies.

I have to make a decision soon or I will just sit out this vote and then I will bitch and moan as loudly as ever.

I do have to write this – WE HAVE TO CHANGE BUSINESS AS USUAL IN THIS UNITED STATES.

- GET RID OF THE 2 PARTY SYSTEM

- GET RID OF THE REPUBLICANS AND THE DEMOCRATS – THEY HAVE RUINED AMERICA

Well, since I have my own blog, I’m going to tell you guys the people that should have stayed longer! Obviously this is in my own humble opinion (yeah I know I can write IMHO, but I love typing)

Felicia Barton ( Season 8 )

So talented. Easily Top 10 material

What a roller coaster she was on. First she’s eliminated the week before the semi-finals. THEN Joanna “plant” Pacitti gets kicked out for many reasons according to wikipedia:

“…that Pacitti has “very personal connections” to Michelle Young and Roger Widynowski, two executives that work at the Los Angeles office of American Idol’s 19 Entertainment.”

So then Felicia gets the call that she is BACK in the competition. I got ecstatic because she was amazing in her audition, and we also found her youtube video of her singing Alicia Keys No One. Check it out…

Then she performs on semi-final night, and she fell victim to the new format that I believed they used in earlier Idol seasons. Asia’h Epperson (Season 7)

Should have been Top 12 easily

Who can forget Asia’h Epperson? Her story during the auditions did not leave a dry eye in the house. Days before her audition, her father passed away. How can someone still go on and audition after a tragedy like that. To top it off she changes her audition song to “How do I live.” Wow. I still get chills thinking about what she went through.

I honestly don’t know how she didn’t make the top 12 over Kristy Lee Cook, Chikezie or Amanda Overmeyer! Her storyline and voice was superior to all of them. I think it was Simons criticism that did her in. Her final performance was “I wanna dance with somebody” by Whitney. Her performance has aged really well. Sometimes a performance you’re in love with doesn’t age well (anything by Constantine comes to mind or Danny Gokey), but hers is really good. Check it out here…

Constantine Maroulis (Season 4)

Easily should have been Top 3 of Season 4

Yes, his performances haven’t aged well, but he should have come in 3rd this year! He’s more memorable than anyone else besides Bo and Carrie. Even though I preferred Constantine to Bo. Here’s his best performance, and one of the best in Idol History! Bohemian Rhapsody…

A.J Tabaldo (Season 6)

Easily Top 12 talent! What happened?

Honestly, his exit bugs me the most. He received universal praise after his performance of “Feelin’ Good” and he still went home. I’ll never forget, both he and Leslie Hunt sang the same song, the same week, and BOTH went home. Hence why I was a little nervous when Adam Lambert sang it (MAYBE thats why he didn’t win….oooh).  Check out A.J’s performance here…

Danny Noriega ( Season 8 )

I can name 3 Idols that should have left instead of him

One of the biggest divas (meant as a compliment) ever on the show. With one of the better voices, period. I don’t really know what else to say. You don’t really expect the voice that comes out of his mouth. Here’s his audition…

Then this is the week he was eliminated. I thought he showed a ton of personality. He sang it well, put his own spin on it. I thought the banter between Simon and him would help, but I guess it didn’t. He easily should have been in the top 12 at least.

Honorable Mention!

Paul Kim (Season 6)- He was the first to be eliminated in Season 6. Tons of people should have gone ahead of him. Plus he’s Asian! Gotta rep for my Asians!

Sway Penala (Season 5)- Had one of the better auditions EVER! I can’t find the clip, but he killed Superstar! It was just song choice that did him in, and little camera time.  Also Chicken Little Kevin Covais went through instead of him! REALLY? Grandmas voting multiple time.

Hello Readers, bet you didn’t think I would get this far, did you? Well, as they say, the customer is always right,… or are they? By the sound of it, we will probably never know. Well school for me hasn’t been the usual  flow of hell on earth, so I guess I could say it has been, “good”, but there is one thing wrong, like always. There is one teacher whose mouth never seems to  close for she is always shouting. Wait, no, that’s not the right word, hmmm, screaming with rage and terror, and as always the start of a new year provokes a chance for the very ugliest, chubbiest, beast of a teacher to make us read those cheesy child point of view war stories which no-one and I state NO-ONE has heard of. “Why?” may you readers out there ask. Because teachers like change, and the thing they don’t realise, is keens (“kid teens”) have to be treated slowly with change, for most of the classmates in my form, seem to like punching each other and grunting .So how may I ask can you inflict change on such a being who wouldn’t understand the meaning of the  simple verb, so my point somewhat  puts the “simple” into simplicity, I think. So – on with my point, learning about rubbish un-heard of child war story tales gets on my nerves. Well, don’t most things?

So, this is the end of another hopefully successful diary entry, short it may be compared to my usual ramblings, but heart warming it is.

I got The Saturdays‘ sophomore album, Wordshaker, today. And I’ve decided to rewrite my little review because listening to this album second time around, I’m liking the songs a lot more. To start off my favorite songs are (in no particular order): Ego, One Shot, 2AM, Open Up, and I think Denial is kind of close. There are certain parts of the song that completely win me over. The only song I couldn’t even finish is No One. So now having listened to the album completely a second time, I give it 4.5/5 stars and am now officially slightly impressed by The Saturdays… or maybe I should credit their writers and producers? Although, vocally, most of them are incredibly fabulous (I like all their voices, though), and together they sound great! I definitely would love to see them improve performance wise. That’s always been what made me ever dislike the girls and the lack of a good amount of songs to love (first album isn’t so bad, but I only love a few songs which all are their singles). This album is a step up in my book. =)

P.S – If you weren’t impressed with it either, maybe listen to it again like I did. I’m surprised how much more I liked the album the second time I listened to it. First time that’s happened!
