What has always surprised me about the Rush Hour series is just how great and accurate the locations are that Lee and Carter travel to. We have L.A. in the orig, Hong Kong and Las Vegas in the second, and now L.A. and Paris in

Paris, Biatch!

the third. Just like the Bourne Series, these movies span the world and keep the action coming. (But Matt Damon cannot perform the functions of both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, and in that way, lack somewhat.) The B-roll footage all around picturesque Paris is quite cool, including shots of a recreated Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumphe (I hope that’ s how it’s spelled…). The stunts are really notable in this film, and I love how they end the movies with bloopers of Jackie Chan hurting himself doing his own stunts.

Notable actors? There are a few. We have as I mentioned Max von Sydow as the evil old man (quite cantankerous). Most notably I remember him from Minority Report, but he’s been in the biz for a while now.

Not actually brothers.

There’s Hiroyuki Sanada as Kenji, the badass orphan brother of Detective Lee. (They’re not actually brothers at all, they just grew up on the streets together. Which is weird, because Jackie Chan is Chinese and Hiroyuki is Japanese. It’s quite noticeable.) There’s also Yvan Attal, a traditionally French actor who made an appearance in this movie as George, the taxi cab driver. I do like it when they use actual actors from their places of origin in travel movies like these.

Other than that, this movie functions purely as a nice little closing to the Rush Hour series. The Triads are defeated when the list is found, Lee and Carter went through their rough patches and became even closer, it’s all good. It’s just truly a feel good movie. Besides a couple of parts. I would put this on Ross LaManna and Jeff Nathanson, but it might partly be the fault of Chris Tucker’s delivery. There a quite a few racist remarks that are made towards Iranians, French, and even a feel of American supremacy while Lee and Carter parade around France. It’s almost unbearably awkward. I would watch out for it, but at this point, Chris Tucker is untouchable.

The stunts are good, maybe better than the other two. Brett Ratner again directs the movie to the best of his ability, that’s fine. Chris Tucker is hilarious (to an extent) and there are some hot and steamy scenes in this you won’t wanna miss. I’d give this one an average rating in comparison to the entire series. 6.6 out of 10.

Kanye West é mais uma vez sob os holofotes, e aparentemente não pretende ficar longe deles tão cedo. Após o episódio “Eu faço uma pré-divulgação do meu álbum nas sedes das empresas de redes sociais”,  ele conseguiu capturar e manter a atenção de milhões de pessoas através de sua nova ferramenta favorita, sua conta no Twitter. Desde meu último post sobre o artista contamos:
_ o anúncio da parte do rapper que ele inventou um novo conceito que ele irá cobrar de todos que evoluem ao seu redor e até, se for possível, dos artistas que ele contratou na sua gravadora, a G.O.O.D Music: o rosewood movement que consiste em usar ternos o tempo todo, de marca europeia de preferência, e em evitar a blasfêmia, uma espécie de corrente positiva um pouco parecido com o paz e amor dos hippies versão engravatado e bon chic bon genre.
_ a capa da revista de rap XXL Mag para o sua edição Love/Hate issue, onde Kanye aparece bem como num jogo de cartas, com um perfil duplicado
_ sua performance nos VMA 2010 para fechar o evento
_ o lançamento do conceito G.O.O.D Friday cujo objetivo é oferecer o download gratuito de  uma música nova a cada semana até o lançamento de seu álbum!
Mas é simpatico demais esse Kanye, né?! … Não, é simplesmente esperto, e consegue prender a platéia encantada.
Mas hoje, nada de análise forçada como eu já fiz a respeito do rapper. Não, hoje eu só quero me debruçar sobre a última música que ele lançou para a sua sexta-feira do bem: Christian Dior Denim Flow. Para esta canção, o rapper não se contentou apenas de fazer uma ode a um par de tênis como seus colegas já fizeram. Kanye vai mais longe e grita seu amor pelo mundo da moda como um todo (apesar de dar destaque para as modelos, fazendo name dropping de 21 das mais famosas), e leva (força?) seus companheiros participando da música a fazer a mesma coisa!

E para aqueles que não teriam entendido ou que gostariam de saber do que se trata, segue um pequeno conjunto de imagens ilustrativas a partir da letra desta música que tem tudo para se tornar um clássico para os fãs de rap e de moda como eu:

Depuis mon dernier post au sujet de l’artiste on compte :

Mais qu’est-ce qu’il est gentil ce Kanye !… Non, il est simplement malin, et parvient à tenir en haleine son auditoire.
Mais aujourd’hui pas d’analyse à la mords moi le nœud comme j’ai déjà pu le faire au sujet du rappeur. Non, aujourd’hui je veux juste m’attarder sur la dernière chanson qu’il a créée pour son G.O.O.D Friday : Christian Dior Denim Flow. Pour cette chanson le rappeur ne s’est pas contenté de faire une ode à une paire de baskets comme ont pu déjà le faire ses homologues. Kanye va plus loin et crie son amour pour le monde de la mode dans son ensemble (bien qu’accordant une grande importande aux mannequins, faisant le name dropping de 21 des plus connues), et pousse (oblige?) ses camarades présents sur la chanson à faire de même!

Et pour ceux à qui cela aurait échappé ou qui voudrait savoir ce qu’il en est, une petite mise en image à partir des paroles de cette chanson qui s’annonce déjà comme un classique pour les amateurs de rap et de mode comme moi:

Hoje era também a apresentação em Paris do seu filme de 40 minutos, intitulado Runaway, que acompanhara seu novo disco My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy previsto para o dia 22 de novembro. O povo da moda foi assistir (Anna Dello Russo, Garance Doré, Scott Schuman, Mademoiselle Agnès,…) e aparentemente as reações foram positivas, e as 7 músicas compondo a trilha encantaram!

Aujourd’huiavait également lieu la présentation à Paris de son moyen métrage de 40 minutes, intitulé Runaway, qui accompagnera son nouvel album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy prévu pour le 22 novembre. Le milieu de la mode a répondu présent (Anna Dello Russo, Garance Doré, Scott Schuman, Mademoiselle Agnès,…) et apparemment les réactions furent positives, et les 7 titres composant la bande sonore ont gagné l’approbation de tous!
