DoFollow – новый интернет тэг, который был введен в противоположность тэгу NoFollow (rel=”nofollow”), в свое время введенному Google, чтобы уменьшить спам в комментариях к блогам. Этот тэг вставляется внутрь ссылки, и роботы поисковых систем не следовали дальше на тот сайт, ссылку на который оставил какой-нибудь спамер в комментариях блога. Мол, вот тебе. Хотел и рыбку съесть, и куда-то там сесть. А мы тебя вот так – nofollow!

Однако на интернете не одни же спаммеры. Есть и нормальные люди. И этот тэг nofollow очень мешает честным людям обмениваться ссылками. Поэтому прежде чем ставить рекламную ссылку на третий сайт, особенно за деньги, нужно убедиться, что выбранный сайт не использует внутри ссылки на ваш сайт тэг nofollow. Роботы поисковых систем Google, Yahoo, MSN признают эти тэги. И даже могут исключить ваш сайт из рейтинга.

На интернете существуют блогосферы, такие как wordpress.com, blogpost.com, lovejournal.com, некоторые социальные закладки, каталоги, сайты пресс-релизов, – не ставят тэг nofollow на ссылки, позволяя роботам свободно индексировать ссылки, которые ставятся в комментариях блогов и т.д. К сожалению, интернет, несмотря на кажущуюся свободу в самовыражении, далеко не такой уж свободен. Все создатели сайтов напрямую зависят от поисковых систем. Если суметь найти к ним подход, разгадать если не все, то хотя бы часть их загадок, шарад, головоломок,  то есть шанс увидеть свет в конце тоннеля или, другими словами, вывести свое детище на призовые позиции поисковых систем. То есть сделать сайт или блог видимым для миллионов пользователей. Поэтому так важно уже при создании и оформлении сайта учитывать требования поисковиков с самого начала работы над сайтом. Потому что, как известно, легче сделать один раз правильно с самого начала, чем потом переделывать по сотню раз.

A regular habit I have is to blog My Ten Favorite Tweets for each week. These are my own tweets, and they mostly contain links to interesting things during the past seven days. One thing I’ve always liked is that I can give “link credit” to the sites that I include in these weekly posts. This blog has a pretty respectable Google pagerank, so it can help other sites posting good content.

But alas, I have come to learn something. Twitter inserts the “nofollow” attribute in any links included in tweets. What is a “nofollow”? From Wikipedia:

An HTML attribute value used to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index.

When you paste a tweet from Twitter to your blog, the links include the “nofollow” attribute inserted by Twitter.  See below:

On FriendFeed, I asked some SEO-knowledgeable folks about this “nofollow” attribute I’ve been pasting in to my blog posts. AJ Kohn and Jimminy confirmed that because that “nofollow” is in there, the search engines aren’t giving link credit.

So the great content doesn’t get the credit in search engines it deserves. Now I need to go back and remove those pesky “nofollow” attributes.

Вообще nofollow и dofollow – это специальные параметры ссылки, которые показывают поисковым роботам, нужно ли учитывать эту ссылку при ранжировании страницы, ее содержащей. Параметр nofollow показывает, что ссылку не нужно учитывать как обратную при расчете ссылочного веса. Параметр dofollow, в свою очередь, – разрешает поисковому роботу проиндексировать ссылку и учитывать ее при ранжировании. Если параметр nofollow не указан, то по умолчанию поисковый робот считает ссылку dofollow.

Во многих блогах по умолчанию всем ссылкам в комментариях присваивается параметр «nofollow». С одной стороны наличие этого параметра защищает блог от спама, ведь если ссылка не учитывается, то и спамить незачем (хотя спамеры все равно рады постараться!). А с другой стороны, многие читатели блогов отказываются от комментирования, потому что не имеют возможности поставить какую-нибудь вполне адекватную dofollow-ссылку.

Именно поэтому многие блоггеры решили отказаться от nofollow и устанавливают на свои блоги специальные плагины, например плагин «Dofollow» для WordPress. При этом на многих таких блогах можно даже встретить надпись подобную «Это блог dofollow», с помощью которой авторы как бы приглашают активно комментировать и оставлять dofollow-ссылки. Как найти эти блоги? Можно конечно же собственноручно «прошерстить» множество блогов и опытным путем установить так сказать истину. Как правильно пользоваться dofollow и не упустить свой шанс?

Многие «специалисты» SEO лишь только завидев надпись «Dofollow блог» начинают активно спамить в комментариях бестолковыми бесполезными фразами, а потом удивляются, что комментарий был удален модератором. Однако есть куда более гуманный и правильный способ. Если на форме регистрации в блоге есть поле для указания сайта комментатора, то нет ничего проще – указывайте нужный сайт и тогда Ваше имя и будет служить прекрасной dofollow-ссылкой. Главное комментарии оставлять адекватные (если нет желания возиться вручную – XRumer придет на помощь).

Но как и у любого другого метода есть у dofollow и свои плюсы, и свои минусы.

Итак, к преимуществам dofollow можно отнести тот факт, что при прочих равных условиях блог с dofollow получает большее количество комментариев, чем остальные. А это значит, что его популярность в глазах читателей возрастает.

А к недостаткам разрешения dofollow-ссылок относят увеличение количества спама, превращение блока комментариев в линкопомойку, увеличение трудоемкости модерации комментариев.

Das Internet ist für die meisten heutzutage gleichbedeutend mit WWW oder Web. Das das Web nur einer von vielen hunderten Diensten ist, die über das web abgewickelt werden, ist normalerweise auch für den Normalbenutzer auch nicht so wichtig. Aber interessant ist es zu wissen, warum das web so einen Siegeszug hingelegt hat, es war eigentlich nur ein einziger Grund:

Informationen, die es im Internet schon in Mengen gab, konnten so auf einfache Art miteinander verknüpft werden.
Jedes Dokument im Web wird durch eine eindeutige Adresse, einer URL (wikipedia), angesprochen. Mit Hilfe dieser URLs, die jeder auf einfachste art und Weise setzen kann entsteht einNetz, das bekanntlich das Weltumspannende Spinnennetz WWW (World Wide Web wikipedia) seinen Namen gegeben hat. Nur Seit einigen Jahren werden es immer weniger Links zwischen unterschiedlichen Seiten. Statt dessen wird nur noch innerhalb der eignen Site verwiesen.

Das Netz droht zu zerfallen.

Nur warum ist das so? Zum einen sind es natürlich die, die nicht kapiert haben, wie das web funktioniert. Zur Abwechslung sind es nicht nur die Politiker, die kamen erst später.

Die ersten waren wohl die, die zwar eine Webseite haben erstellen lassen, aber so stolz darauf waren, dass sie nicht wollten, dass man Links darauf setzt.  So dämlich kann mannicht sein, doch man kann:  Gericht: Fremde Links auf eigene Seiten kann man verbieten und einige mehr. Es geht nicht um die sogenannten Deep Links (wikipedia) mit denen man ein anderes Angebot als das eigne verkaufen kann, sondern tatsächlich darum, dass nicht jemand anderes Besucher auf die eigene Seite bringt. Das ist ungefähr so schlimm, wie wenn ich ein Geschäft oder Dienstleistung anbiete und dann Angst vor den Kunden habe.

Danach kamen die Probleme mit Verweisen auf Seiten, die irgendjemanden nicht gepasst haben, seien es radikale Seiten, Seiten mit Urheberrechtsverletzungen, oder auch nur Seiten, die gegen Rechts, die etwa ein durchgestrichenes Hakenkreuz enthielten (SpOn). Inzwischen ist das setzen von links direkt gefährlich geworden, da man sich ja den Inhalt der anderen seiten möglicherweise zu eigen macht. Also kamen die sogenannten Disclaimer, die aber komplett wirkungslos sind: Das Märchen vom Disclaimer, was sich bisher offensichtlich noch nicht rumgesprochen hat, da ein Webmaster von dem anderen abschreibt und insgeheim hofft, dass es doch etwas bringt.

Ich vergleiche die Disclaimer gerne mit Knoblauch aufhängen, oder Weihwasser, das ungefähr den gleichen Effekt hat.

Danach kam Gogole und die SEOs, die behaupten, dass ausgehende Links den Pagerank bei Google herabsetzen, was im gewissen Sinn zwar richtig ist, aber aus vielen anderen Gründen auch nicht so schlimm ist, aber das ist ein anderes Thema.

Gleichzeitig wurde und wird versucht möglichst viele Links von Seiten mit hohen Pagerank auf die eigene Seite zu bekommen. Das wurde so stark übertrieben, dass Foren und Blogs dazu mit unsinnigen Beiträgen, aber einem Link, missbraucht wurden.

Damit man trotzdem Links setzen kann und die Spammer ausbremst wurde das sogenannte nofollow-Attribut zu einem Link hinzugefügt.

Leider ist den Köpfen von vielen Webmastern immer noch drin, dass ausgehende Links etwas böses sind und die Webseite beim Pagerank aussaugt. Und natürlich haben viele auch Angst die wenigen kostbaren Besucher auf andere Seiten aufmerksam zu machen und sie so zu verlieren. Nicht dass die Besucher nicht wüssten, dass es noch andere Seiten gibt.

Leider hat das alles dazu geführt, dass viele Blog-Systeme sogar die Trackbacks auf nofollow setzen und den Grundgdanken des gegenseitig Verlinkens ad absurdum führen. natürlich werden damit die Kommentarspammer abgehalten, aber dafür gibt es sicher bessere Methoden, als das Netz an sich in Frage zu stellen.

Ein anderer wichtiger Punkt sind natürlich so einige Politiker, die zwar nicht wissen, was das Internet ist, dafür aber umso mehr Angst davor haben und mit möglichst schwammigen Gesetzen (wie sollte man auch etwas konkretisieren ohne einen Schimmer davon zu haben, um was es geht) die eigentlich Beurteilung den Richtern zu überlassen, und so eigentlich nur zeigen, dass sie unseren Rechtsstaat weder achten noch erhalten wollen. Aber zum Thema Gewaltenteilung und den Sinn vernünftiger Gesetze werde ich mich jetzt nicht äußern, wenn es auch schwer fällt) Und warum die aktuellen Gesetze mehr schaden und mehr Unsicherheit bringen, eigentlich sogar den rechtsfreien Raum erst erzeugen, ist Stoff für eine andere Abhandlung.

Ein andere Auswirkung der Link-Müdigkeit ist die sogenannte Blogmüdigkeit, wenn es auc nur eine kleinere Ursache dafür sein dürfte.

Hier geht es mir nur konkret darum, an alle zu apellieren und das Web zu retten, indem wieder Links gesetzt werden. Nicht irgendwohin, sondern auf interessante, passende Seiten, die einem selbst und anderen gefallen und weiterbringen. Es macht nur etwas Mühe, man muss isch ein paar Gedanken machen, und auch ein klein wenig aufpassen um in keine juristischen Fallstricke zu landen, aber es lohnt sich.

Mein Vorschlag wäre es, wenn wir das ganze mal zusammen üben und jeder sich vornimmt in seinem Blog mindestens zwei Links pro tag zu setzen. und schon blüht das Web wieder auf (ok, das war zu pathetisch)

Gut, erzählen kann jeder viel, aber zum einen gebe ich mir wirklich Mühe viele Links zu setzen und habe das nicht bereut, im Gegenteil die Besucher nehmen stetig zu. Und zum anderen biete ich mal einfach konkret an: Wer eine Interessante Seite zu diesem Thema hat, der braucht sie mir nur zu schicken und ich baue den link dazu ein. Das habe ich bei den anderen Artikeln zwar immer selbst gemacht und das gefundene aufgelistet, aber warum nicht mal andersherum? Also wer ein passende Seite hat, soll bitte einen Link hierher setzen, ein Kommentar schreiben (den ich auf Wunsch auch nicht veröffentliche) und setze diese Seite als Link hier im folgenden rein. So hat das Web zwei neue links und ich verspreche das es sich lohnen wird. Mit Geld-zurück-Garantie! (was bei kostenlos kein so großes Risiko ist).

Linking to your profile on your site or blog is a great idea, but linking to your shared items page is an even better one.

Update: Google Profiles are Back to Do-Follow

Over the weekend I created a brand-new profile for my wife, and noticed that the profile for John Sileo that I had previously mentioned is now “dofollow,” as is the brand-new profile for my wife.

Use it, don’t abuse it!

It’s good that Google’s reversed their policy on this, because Google Profiles are a natural thing to optimize and promote. They are a great tool for linking to other properties, and you should create your own. Just don’t go too crazy, or Google might pull the follow plug again.

TechCrunch reported today that Digg is now adding the rel=”nofollow” tag to sites it doesn’t trust. I see some problems but lets have a little primer.

If a website, say the BBC News (news.bbc.co.uk) links to another site, say Fred’s Auto Shop (bestautoshop.com), because it’s relevant to the story then Google will think more highly of Fred’s Auto Shop because if the BBC is linking to it, it must be important. So a little Google love is passed from the BBC page to Fred’s site, this is the principle behind Google and its PageRank algorithm. Basically, a site’s reputation is based on the number and quality of the inbound links to it.

Unfortunately, spammers realized that if they could also get their links on to these high-ranking pages they too could get some Google love and promote their own sites full of spyware, cheap medication or other dubious items.

So Google came up with the NoFollow attribute and encouraged people to use it in public areas such as blog comments so that spammers gain no benefit. Wikipedia uses NoFollow on all of its links and Digg is about to use it on sites it doesn’t trust.

For Wikipedia I find that disturbing. As an encyclopedia it’s supposed to be an authoritative page of information and therefore anything a page links to is likely to be a valuable source of information. Therefore, Google should be using this to measure the reputation of the linked page.

As for Digg, how will Digg know which sites to trust? Why will they be any better than Google at sifting the good from the bad. Ultimately, they will only have one set of data to base their judgement upon, i.e. the database behind Digg, a user’s activity on the site, how many domains they’ve linked to, number of comments with a single link in, etc. Spam detection works better when you have a larger pool of data, one that crosses multiple business sectors, languages and domains. Therefore, Digg should just use NoFollow everywhere … but only if we don’t strictly interpret the NoFollow attribute.

If NoFollow is strictly interpreted, it’s wrong as you’re penalizing good links because of the few bad ones. A maxim that’s never worked in any aspect of life.

If it’s interpreted as ‘this link is user submitted and may be spam’ that’s better. It means we can be wary of this link and maybe we don’t award all of the Google love the moment we see it, maybe we cross-reference other sources and see if it fits into a pattern of abuse. If high-ranking sites are linking to this page without NoFollow and a few are linking with NoFollow, then it’s probably safe to ignore the NoFollow attribute for this link. However, if you only have NoFollow links pointing to a page, it’s more likely to be spam. Factoring in details about the domain, the timespan from the first awareness of this link to the last should also enable a more accurate prediction to be made and identify spam.

With the amount of data Google has it should be able to use this information wisely and be able to more accurately assess the SpamRank (my idea!) of the linked page.

I think the ‘NoFollow’ name is a bad idea and would have been better if it was called ‘UserGenerated’ instead or something similar. I see the value and I trust Google to use the information in a logical manner but if Digg added its own ‘trust’ algorithm to the site, it’s basically nothing more than a PageRank sculpting mechanism however noble it seems. Out of interest, I see Reddit doesn’t use the NoFollow at all for user comments, which again is probably a bad idea.

Zdarzy się, ze trafisz w internetach na coś, co ma taki ciężar głupoty, kretynizmu, czy innego bliżej niesprecyzowanego lulza, że nie możesz się powstrzymać. Chcesz się podzielić z innymi, którzy przecież także  lubią pobaraszkować w internetowej kniei. Z wypiekami publikujesz notkę. Wstawiasz skrina, cytat, cokolwiek. I oczywiście na dowód, że znalezisko jest prawdziwe, dajesz linka do źródła.

Może być nawet tak, ze dajesz linka do czegoś, co w twoim mniemaniu jest niebezpieczne. Ostrzegając chcesz także czynić dobro. Właśnie w myśl zasady wymienionej we wstępie. Niestety niekoniecznie tak się dzieje, bo…

Większość szanownych was zapewne jest już świadoma tej prostej internetowej prawdy: linkowanie, bez względu na intencje linkującego, przynosi korzyść linkowanemu. Działa to tak. Ty piszesz czerwonym flamastrem na swoim blogu: Uwaga na oszusta, sprzedającego własne szczyny  jako niezawodny lek na raka. I dajesz linka, żeby każdy twój czytelnik widział, jak wygląda oszust.

Ale The Algorytm w trzewiach Googla (bez wchodzenia w krwiste technikalia) nie rozumie przesłania twojej notki. Widzi tylko linka i sąsiadujące z nim słowa-klucze. W konsekwencji efekt jest odwrotny do zamierzonego: oszust dostaje bonus w postaci wyższej pozycji. Bo The Algorytm pomyślany jest tak, aby szukać kontekstu, nie filozofować nad przesłaniem.

Może się nawet zdarzyć, że jeśli sto osób napisze ostrzeżenie podobne do twojego, to zbiorowo wywindujecie oszusta tam, gdzie wlaśnie widzieć go nie chcieliście. I  kiedy ktoś inny wpisze w Googlu frazę “niezawodny lek na raka” – wtedy na pierwszej pozycji pojawi się wasz oszust. Śmiejąc się i dziękując wam w duchu za darmową reklamę.

Oczywiście dziewczęta i chłopaki z Googla już jakiś czas temu zauważyli problem i wymyślili proste techniczne rozwiązanie. Otóż, Google (a za nim inni najwięksi: AOL, MSN, Yahoo) wprowadził do swojej specyfikacji atrybut rel z wartością nofollow dla taga <a>. Kto wie o co chodzi, może przejść do jutubki na końcu notki. Dla potrzebujących analogowej, ludzkiej wykładni – przdstawia się ona tak:

Jeśli w swojej notce masz wstawiony link, którego nie chcesz promować, to otwórz źródło notki (każdy edytor na szanującej się platformie ma gdzieś taki dynks oznaczony HTML, albo źródło właśnie). W treści powinny pojawić się różne <em>, <i>, <a href=”http//costamcostam.com”>. To są właśnie tagi HTMLa (tak, upraszczam, a bo co?).

Odnajdujesz link, o który ci chodzi. Będzie on zapisany wewnątrz taga i całość powinna wyglądać mniej więcej tak: <a href=”http//costamcostam.com”>. Oczywiście, w miejscu costamcostam.com pojawi się twój link. Wewnątrz taga, najlepiej na końcu, tuz przed zamknięciem (znak >) dodajesz rel=”nofollow”.  Zmieniony przez ciebie tag bedzie wyglądał mniej więcej:

<a href=”http//cos-tam-cos-tam.com” rel=”nofollow”>

Nie ruszaj niczego innego. Jeśli wewnątrz twojego taga było wcześniej cokolwiek więcej niż to co wymieniłem – zostaw wszystko, tak jak było. A atrybut rel=”nofollow” dodaj (jak wyżej) przed >.

Teraz możesz wrócić do edycji standardowej i pisać dalej. Dodając atrybut rel=”nofollow”, poinformowałeś roboty Googla, że linkujesz do czegoś, co nie jest warte promowania. Uczyniłeś dobro.

A dla pewności, że wszystko gra – otwórz źródło jeszcze raz. Zajrzyj, czy twoja poprawka wygląda tak, jak ją zapisałeś. Większość edytorów ma różne mechanizmy, które sprawdzają czy kod źródłowy notki jest poprawny. Zazwyczaj poprawiają błędy. A czego nie potrafią poprawić – wyrzucają. Jeśli coś ci nie wyszło przy dodawaniu atrybutu (na przykład brak w nim cudzysłowiu, albo jest to nieakceptowany cudzysłow przeklejony z Worda), to możliwe że twój edytor wytnie ci błędną poprawkę.

Jeszcze więcej dobra uczynisz, jeśli tę prostą historię skromnego atrybutu na końcu hateemelowego taga powtórzysz ziomalkom i ziomom z e swojej dzielni. Bo ja na przykład nie znałem jej, dopóki Pani Małżonka nie pokazała mi palecem swojem. A Pani Małżonka wie co pokazuje, jest wybitnym ekspertem w SEO. Kiedy ja jestem tylko szeregowym geniuszem od obiektowego na tlustych mediach. Mogę wywinąć rekurencję, albo przebiec komuś runtime. Jak czarny kot drogę. /hlb/

DoFollow และ NoFollow เป็นคำสั่งพิเศษ (Attribute) ในการทำลิงค์ (AnchorTag) ซึ่งทั้ง 2 แบบนั้น ให้ผลที่แตกต่างกันค่อยข้างมาก
ยกตัวอย่างเช่น

<a href=”http://www.example.com/” rel=”nofollow”>discount drugs</a>

<a href=”http://www.example.com/” rel=”dofollow”>discount drugs</a>

DoFollow หมายถึง ให้ Robot ของ Search Engine ไต่ตามลิงค์นี้ไปยังเว็บเป้าหมาย ซึ่งจะให้ผลทาง Backlink และ คะแนน PR
NoFollow หมายถึง ไม่ให้ Robot ของ Search Engine ไต่ตามลิงค์นี้ไปยังเว็บเป้าหมาย ซึ่งจะให้ผลทาง Backlink แต่ ไม่ให้คะแนน PR

อย่างไรก็ตาม โดยปกติ Default ของ Anchor Tag จะเป็น DoFollow อยู่แล้ว ดังนั้น ถ้าเราไม่ใส่ Nofollow มันก็จะเป็น DoFollow โดยอัตโนมัติ

ลองนำไปใช้ดูครับ แต่ข้อควรระวังคือ ไม่ควรใช้ NoFollow เพื่อการแลกลิ้งกับเว็บเพื่อนบ้านนะครับ

Dofollow на самом деле, насколько я понимаю, не существует.

Это просто ссылки без nofollow. Когда Гугл придумал атрибут “нофоллов” для того, чтобы вебмастера могли помечать ссылки, по которым не желают передавать вес, он не знал, во что это выльется.

В частности, nofollow стало в космических масштабах использоваться для манипулирования результатами внутренней перелинковки. Ссылки для людей ведут на некие страницы, но они не передают вес, а ссылки для изменения результатов поиска накачивают весом то, что требуется вебмастеру.

В итоге Гугл решил вес передавать, но не “ссылаемому” сайту, а в никуда.

Это довело ситуацию до абсурда.

Вебмастера, не желающие приспосабливаться к капризам и нестандартным тегам поисковых систем, целое движение dofollow основали.

На WordPress, кстати, ссылки с комментариев по умолчанию закрыты nofollow. Есть плагин, который “реабилитирует” такие ссылки по заданным правилам, с его помощью легко сделать dofollow-блог. Я себе сделал. Заходите, комментируйте, мне интересны ваши сайты!

MilesGallon.com is listed in the Recreation and Sports -> Automotive category and it has it’s own details page, Mileage Calculator with the usual info (I wish they would come up with something unique for the details pages, they are all the same)

We tend to stay away from covering SEO advice, but Google’s recent change in recommendations for the use of “nofollow” have everyone buzzing…still!

I like the advice that Rand Fishkin offered up:

My personal advice right now is – if you’re just starting a new site or re-designing, choose your links intelligently so you don’t need to use nofollow. However, if you’re thinking about pulling all those nofollows off what you’ve already got, that could be a bit dangerous and you should monitor it carefully.
