<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Problem:</strong></p>
<p>We are developing a Grails application. Maven for build. We use continuum and Jenkins (Hudson) for continous integration (CI). When we install/uninstall a new Grails plugin, grails prompts a question, something like,</p>
<p>&#8220;Do you want to update the plugin/Do you want to remove the plugin?&#8221;</p>
<p>When this happens on a CI, because we cannot answer the questions, build never completes.</p>
<p><strong>Solution:</strong></p>
<p>It turned out that Grails-Maven plugin has a non-interactive option. Turn that on in your pom.xml.</p>

<p>Sometimes, you need to put a non-interactive passwords using scripts, as you can see, you can&#8217;t use passwd tool, because it only works using interactive way.</p>
<p>On Debian, and of course lot of distros, you can use <strong>chpasswd</strong> instead (create, update &#38; modify)</p>
<p>From chpasswd manual:</p>
<p>chpasswd reads a list of user name and password pairs from standard input and uses this information to update a group of existing users, so you can update passwords in batch mode.</p>
