We have already brought in loose item from outside just in case! NOAA is predicting at least 10 inches of rain in my area and power outages for 7-10 days :( boo.

I have started to make an “emergency kit” in my car trunk in case I get stuck at work or on my way there or home.

They still aren’t sure exactly what is going to happen with the storm but officials do know that it is going to be “the storm of the century!”

It is ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry an unprepared and stranded! Stay safe everyone!!

I want to talk about road signs. Not the ones you see normally no, remember, this is Florida, anything goes , Now, while trucking, I have seen signs for deer crossing, pretty normal, right? Out West you have Elk and Moose crossing. Haven’t met up with them yet. In the Nor’east, you have snowmobile crossing signs everywhere. Haven’t seen one of those yet either.
  Now, in Florida, just today mind you, I have seen BOTH Panther AND Bear crossing signs. Gator I’ve seen before, but Panther and Bear..? What kind of state is this that Panther and Bear are so plentiful and so normal that they have their own crossing signs? Granted, I saw neither of them today either, but really, do you WANT to see a Bear while driving a state highway? I’m pretty sure not! If a Panther jumps in front of me, he’d better hope there are lots more where he came from cause I ain’t slowing down! Mr Bear can just have my rig  I’ll teach him to drive it and I’ll just walk, thank you!
No, I am not making these up, my friends who live here can back me up on these.
Also, if I’m up North and a snowmobiler is crossing in front of me, I’ve got no business on the road anyway! I should be parked till the snow is gone! My mama didn’t raise no fool!
But really folks, pay attention to the signs, you just might learn something. Like the fact Florida is a wild animal habitat., The whole. friggin.state! It’s crazy! Kind of a wild Wizard of Oz. Panthers and Gators and Bears, Oh shit!!!!!!!!!

We didn’t have the camera, so I had to make do with my Hipstamatic iPhone app, which let me tell you, is fantastic.

In the interests of consistency I didn’t play around with the settings too much.


First stop was his parents boat, which was getting something done to it. I don’t really know. All I know is that their boat (which I thought was a decent size) looked tiny next to the massive cruiser. It was actually quite funny.

Next stop: Brunch!

We ate along the foreshore, at a cafe called Nor’East which is just near the Brewery.

Took a lot of photos while we waited for our food to arrive.

V’s new hoodie is by a Japanese brand called Onitsuka Tiger. It was white, but had this amazing spotted detailing in the hood.

We picked it up in China ;) but I know they have a store in Bondi.

Right, so food! I had a hot chocolate, V had a double mac. No surprises.

His mum had an iced chocolate – it looked really impressive!!

I’d been craving poached eggs in China so that’s what I had. V had baked eggs with… something else. Hmm. Delicious though.

His parents did a bit of a DIY, pick your own.

We sat outside, but I really loved the interior of the restaurant. It had a lot of light, and clever details like this:

And I paid for lunch, which was unusual. I had to be quick though!

I know it’s not a big deal to a lot of people, but I love paying for meals when I’m out with family and friends. I’m not always very good with telling people that I care, so being able to treat them to a meal… That’s my way of showing I do.

Oh, and as for the title of this post? I taught V to say that in Indonesian while we were away. It just means “I am going to eat food” but he thought it sounded so funny. He knew most of the words already though, just had to string it into a sentence. Clever boy.
