My apologies for the lack of posts, Padré.
My motivation for doing anything remotely
involved with thinking, has been drastically
reduced – due to a few events in the past week.

Once again, I am freshly single and don’t trust
anyone with a vagina. Just kidding, I trust
strippers(lit. love you babe!). It was an ~awesome
weekend. I’m still a bit in shock, but happy to
have that fucking bullshit out of my life. It was
killing me to be with her, now I know why.
I’m really impressed with the fact that so many
people have expressed a great deal of compassion
towards me in the last few days and am so greatful
for the fact that, so many friends have said they
are here for me. WD4L Policies are re-instated.

And now a few positives...
I finally caught up with Merran again. I hadn’t
seen her since she had to move home, because
of her bitch landlord kicking her, and her
friends, out. Got some mad Grill’d for lunch
and had awesome talks. Agatha Berezowski,
my all time favourite Pole, got in contact with
me on Facebook and I am so excited that she
is looking into coming up from Sydney,
for the weekend. It has been about 6 years since I last
saw her.Last Wednesday night, I ended up having
a jam with the most talented girl I have met
in years, Demi – you should check out her blog
here and her music here. She has the most
amazing voice and I  am super-psyched that
she wants to work with me . I will keep y’all
updated – it looks like we will be recording with
Mittah at Capulet. WIN!

Yes, another GOP sex scandal.  A married state senator having an affair with a 22 year old intern, though no doubt he will find some reason why he should stay in office, because Jesus wants him to or whatever.  It is not as if the Democrats are above all this, but then the Democrats don’t bill themselves as the moral authority that many of the Republicans seem to. 

Senator Stanley actually met someone from Planned Parenthood some time back, stating he could not support them because he felt that children that were not married should not have sex.  Evidently after he was married, he could have sex with whomever he wanted.  How do these people sleep at night, if indeed they ever actually sleep, horny goats that they seem to be.

But this affair and current blackmail scheme seems so mundane, perhaps because he was only a state senator as opposed to a U.S. senator.  Or who knows, maybe because the affairs are so regular now that they barely register on the news unless some weird angle is in it.  Like the Republican busted for going out with call girls, or the one that wore a diaper, hell that might even be one and the same, I can’t remember all of these infidelities any more.  And maybe that is the plot, if everyone has an affair, then no one will be looked down upon it really.  They could say they gave in to peer pressure (Come on {insert name of random Republican}, all the cool representatives are having affairs, and you want to be cool, don’t ya’?), or maybe it is that all state or federal politicians are essentially evil creatures with hearts that pump a black, ooze like substance.  We can all see this evil as long as the politician is in the party we do not like, but for some reason, we fail to notice it in our own.  

Nothing new there though, and politicians know this.  They will portray themselves however they need to, they are a product, and we are the suckers that buy into their crap.  I’m still trying to figure out why we even bother to pay these assh*les, why not just have the lobbyists pay their salary and just be done with it.  The lobbyists pay for them to get re-elected, why not have them pay for it all, and just leave us out of it.

My lovely friend b has a thing for middle-aged musicians, last night she dragged me to the Cambridge to see Pinky Beecroft (of ‘Machine Gun Fellatio‘ fame) do an intimate set out the back in the Red Bar. He was preceded by two local bands worth a mention. The terribly amusing James Buckingham Experience & The Havelocks. Super nice dudes from the ‘locks, rad tunes too. The female lead and bass player from TJBE are definitely worth giving props to for making a Spice Girls cover actually sound entertaining.
Pinky was amazing. The creepiest looking sex fiend to ever hit the stage, which is the essence of his charm . Unsent Letter is one of the saddest songs ever written and to have it played literally five feet away from me was just perfect. His entire band was amazing at backing his drunken-style synth antics and the guitarist was really nice to me when I was very clearly intoxicated. Haha. No more vodka. I was written off and driven home by my favourite bartender and spent the better part of the night slipping in and out of conciousness, whilst trying not to liberate my Russian spirit. Dasvidanya, Comrade.

i’d like to see the department of homeland security get involved in this, and similar cases, because in my book it meets absolutely every definitional requirement to be categorized as T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-M.  and anyone you read today saying “well it’s a terrible shame, but…” is soft on terrorism.

Anger, jealously and resentment. Those are just words. They may elicit the imagery of someone who is bitter or hurt in some way or another. That’s the face value of it, but is there anything that lies below the surface? Something more than just the reactionary mechanisms meant to protect something frail?

For a while, I’ve simply reacted to my emotions as they come to surface. A reaction to a reaction. When you feel something intensely enough, the surface effects are enough. Delving too far into it may only lead to a greater sensation…and when you experience something that is…unpleasant, delving further doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It’s like getting burned by a flame and deciding, “…damn that shit hurt. I wonder if there’s more to it. Let me go ahead and poke and prod at myself where I’ve been burned. Perhaps I can find more.”

Hell no! The average person, out of sheer logic will simply leave that shit alone. Perhaps you’d put ointment on it, wrap it so it doesn’t become infected…and allow it to heal. The body is meant to heal, right? By design we repair our damages so that we may survive. When the body doesn’t heal it is evidence of some sort of illness; of disease. So what is it that would cause internal wounds to remain exposed? Is it as simple as us refusing to examine them?

I’m tired. It is 5:17am and I am tired. My body wants to sleep, but my mind will not allow it. As I decide to occupy myself with something more than lying on my bed and stare into the dark ceiling, I am overcome with the feeling that this is not a one time occurrence. I believe another bout of this is looming on the horizon, and I am desperately seeking a remedy, a witch doctor concoction of any sort, that may impede the onset before it happens. But I fear it is already too late. Just as the man who realizes after that one particular cough that illness is calling and seeks 2 gallons of orange juice, 5 cans of chicken noodle, a few shots of cough syrup and more rest than usual to stop the impending ailment, I fear that I am too, seeking too late the remedies for this sickness I feel spreading within.

I occupy my mind and envelop myself in written word. I consume each syllable as if it were medicine capable of cure. I quickly loose myself in another world. But this world has been built quickly, irresponsibly in ramshackle fashion. One overheard tone and the card walls tumble again and I am where I was before. Alone. Allowing the sickness to spread.

I move to the computer and I realize as I let my fingers move over the keys that this illness is already here. It has already taken up residency and there is no easy fix for it. I cannot devour vitamin C to recede its effects. I cannot drown it in chicken soup. I have to address it with time and attention until it has run its course.

As the realization strikes me and I am making my peace with another season of getting to know this ailment, my body, my mind, I can’t help but wonder how many times illness can strike the same systems before the systems break down. How long before your defenses are strained and become ineffective?

It is for this very reason that we must remember that prevention starts with care. Taking care of ourselves from the beginning will mean we are not as susceptible to these ailments when they come. We are able to withstand the torrents of viral infections when we don’t abuse ourselves by throwing caution to the wind. If we are careful and conservative, we avoid these pitfalls.

I have amassed my share of useless blogs…

BUT this time will be different.

It has been a few days since LAMetro mobile site has been down. For many that have used and know how to use transit you know that it has it’s moments where tha their trips can be completely off. And for those who don’t know how to use it and want to know how get their map then use the trip planner as a guide to see the lines that run to your destination. From there you can cross check the map and the planner also with your city map of choice (go google!) to have a accurate and hopefully time efficient trip.

My gripes with the trip planner is that there is so much information that not listed that could make a difference i.e. Choice of how many buses I want to take, a great map(go Google). I think when I use trip planned its shows me a map as well and the route. I know that might be much but many a tourist use it as well as new riders that live in the city. They kill the experience.

An MTA representative said that they are planning to update it that’s why they won’t give their information to google just yet. They know that giving that information out means that will lose traffic to their already crummy website. Looks cute but it can be utterly useless. That would mean competiton and that means that they would have to step up their game.
And as a government agency that’s not how they roll. I guess all they money going to the rail that they can’t afford to overhaul their website.

The NY Times reports:

According to church teaching, even after sinners are absolved in the confessional and say their Our Fathers or Hail Marys as penance, they still face punishment after death, in Purgatory, before they can enter heaven. In exchange for certain prayers, devotions or pilgrimages in special years, a Catholic can receive an indulgence, which reduces or erases that punishment instantly, with no formal ceremony or sacrament.”

Not that we needed this for evidence, but it is more and more clear that the Roman Church’s claim to being Catholic is false. (ok, something that’s been glaringly obvious for over 500 years is not exactly a news flash, but it needs saying all the same).

So, the real answer to the question, “Is the Pope a catholic?” is “Not until he repents and leaves this sectarian, divisive church which has its headquarters in a really nice old building in Rome.”

[and I've been corrected, this is not something "new" (i.e. something resurrected that had been buried) rather, indulgences were never done away with, they've been around all along, you just can't sell them for money anymore, as did our friend pictured above. Now, you simply have to pray or do some other works to get them.]

Ok, once again, Taylor has spoken, and it hasn’t happened. On more than one occasion, he has said he would be performing a new song after the performance of Grease. Last night was the first night of the Grease tour. And was there a new song? Why no, no there wasn’t. Instead there was Taylor, all dressed up as the Teen Angel.

I guess you can put this in the category with the acoustic tour, the Whomp DVD, the new CD that was supposed to be released, but instead ended up being a repackage of his early works. How about all the great Q&A’s and live chats we were going to have at THHQ? Now, that was a good time. *rolls eyes*

What happened to Fan of the Week? Or did he run out of fans? He had maybe a couple months worth, and that was it?

Sometimes it’s so frustrating being a Taylor Hicks fan. Then he says shit, and doesn’t follow through. It’s a damn good thing he’s hot.
