Under the darkness of a rather cold night, I wonder just how much of the world I see when my eyes are open, and what are the things that I usually focus on? Do I have a natural proclivity to just look at the same objects and sites that come into my awareness, do I follow conditioned patterns, do my eyes have visual rail tracks that it normally runs on, or blinders to things on the periphery? It’s impossible to observe everything with two eyes, or perhaps that just happens when the eyes are closed? How blind am I really, and is that the reason I like to walk around with a camera, challenging myself to see things differently, framing the world to the size of a viewfinder, allowing myself to look in new directions, searching for the visual that usually gets passed by. Perhaps that’s why I keep shooting images, obsessively observing, letting attention flow free, allowing light into the unconsciousness blindness that often inhabits my sight. In many ways, the camera has become my guide dog to the everyday visual world I inhabit, leading me down roads that I would naturally not take, like water cascading down a hilly incline, always taking the path of least resistance.

When I see the blind, I wonder just how much of the world they are missing, yet perhaps the other senses compensate and allow sounds, smells and temperatures to form internal visuals that no camera will ever be able to capture. We need camera’s of the mind, image processors for the brain, ways of seeing the unseen … or is that simply what we call art?

Nothing really, really big, but I updated my old ANTM C11 Episode 10 post with some better pictures, thanks to a Cycle 11 marathon I actually was home for.  I also added a few new words, but that is all.  I’ll be updating a few other posts and hopefully I’ll have something new for everyone by next Saturday at the latest.

I saw the Twilight (DVD) on a notebook screen cracked up by extremely funny special effects and a poker face of Kristen Stewart. I did not intend to watch the New Moon but  if you want to stay in touch with the youngest generation, you need to know what it is  keen on. And I,  a 27 year-old granny, need that from time to time. : )

So I went to a movie with my friend and we both  had a great fun. The audience was approximately 25-30 years old, no one took the pathetic love scenes for serious. We laughed at slow-motion scenes emphasising the kitsch. And the kitch (as my good friend used to repeat) is an art for self-aware people.

And I appreciated well acted roles of Volturi clan vampires, costumes, scenery, music and sweet love story that I used to dream about in my early teens.

And I came to a reflection that the story is a masterstroke of kitsch worth of seeing on a big screen. For two hours you have a journey to your adolescence, first kisses and dates’ memoirs, doubts and depressions caused by a boy from high school or neighbourhood. You becomea teenager as the main characters. The older you are, the better for you.

I loved the movie as much as I disliked two megastars Stewart  and Pattinson for they both looked like feeling ashamed of taking part in the saga. I can easily imagine that really good actors could make people to worship the ground Edward Cullen and Bella walk on suspend their critics a bit. : )

All in all it was not so bad, not so bad…

I am gonna take a break from blogging ‘cuz I am going to sit for SAT on December 5th so I gotta concentrate on studies. Until it’s over I am not gonna post anything new.  So… later!

Hey everyone!

I don’t even know if anyone will check up and read on this post, but I’ll put this up here regardless. First off: Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you and yours have a lovely day filled with amazing food!

Secondly: no, I did not die on the plane on my way here; I got here safe and sound and am very much in love with America and the people here, but not so in love with the food. Haha. And my Uni. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful, it’s so … creative and it’s just one of the most beautiful campus-less universities anyone could ever wish for!

Thirdly: I’m so sorry there hasn’t been any update here, and no news either. I’m sorry I disappeared from the community; I was too caught up with university and settling in here. I forgot my Windows CD at home in Pakistan so I haven’t been able to play or to create any cc for the game. But that will change soon hopefully as I asked my dad to send me my CD. Yay!

And so, if anyone wants any meshes or recolors or anything, please go to forums like SimsFileVault and BlackPearlSims as I will probably be unable to email you any files for a while until I am back to updating this place again.
