We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:

2. the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
3. the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Okay, so I might just be late on this cause admittedly, I just saw NOTORIOUS for the first time last night.

And for all of it’s Hollywood crappiness, the shining moment for me was 20 minutes in, getting the shock of my life seeing a full out sex scene with shorty from 3LW.

One of the joys of November in Japan is the release of the top 60 new slang and trends of the year. Publisher Jiyu Kokuminsha provides the list, and fortunately Pink Tentacle provides excellent translations of each term (with explanations for those who may be less familiar with pop culture, politics and notorious crimes in Japan).

(CNN) — A U.S.-flagged ship that played a central role in a bloody hijacking drama last spring was attacked again Wednesday, a busy day for piracy in the dangerous waters off the east coast of Africa.

The Maersk Alabama came under automatic weapons fire from pirates about 350 nautical miles east of the Somali coast, the European Union’s anti-piracy force said, but fought the attackers off.

The same ship was hijacked in the Indian Ocean in April, and its captain, Richard Phillips, held hostage on a lifeboat for five days before U.S. Navy snipers shot three pirates dead. A fourth pirate was arrested, and Phillips was rescued.

This time, private security guards on the Danish-owned ship fended off the pirates by shooting back and using loud sounds, EU and U.S. naval sources said.

Long Range Acoustic Device? Turns out it’s an acoustic cannon (or super megaphone) that produce 150 decibels of sound, causing excruciating headache and ear pain.

Security has been beefed up on the vessel since the attack in April, Maersk spokesman Kevin Speers told CNN.

No casualties were reported on the ship, but pirates on land in Somalia feared the attackers may have been killed or wounded, or may have drowned, they told a local journalist. There has been no contact with them since they attacked the Maersk Alabama, a pirate in the central Somali town of Harardhere said.

Pirates in Somalia are concerned about them, since their last communication was while they were battling the cargo ship’s security guards, the pirate said.

Pirates on land also exchanged gunfire — with one another.

They fought among themselves Wednesday over a multimillion-dollar ransom they received for releasing a Spanish fishing boat, the local journalist in contact with the pirates said.

“There was a heavy exchange of gunfire between some of our friends,” one pirate told the local journalist, speaking of the other pirates. “They fought over the 3 million euro [$4.5 million] received as a ransom from the Spanish boat.”

At least two pirates were wounded in the gunfight in Harardhere, a pirate stronghold in central Somalia, the local journalist told CNN. The two are in a critical condition and have now been transferred to the town of Galka’yo.

The Alakrana, the Spanish fishing vessel, was freed Tuesday along with its 36 crew members, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said. It had been held for 47 days.

Zapatero did not say how the ship was freed. Spanish media — including CNN sister station CNN+, which cited a source it said was close to the negotiations — reported that a ransom had been paid.

A top prosecutor in Madrid on Wednesday called for an investigation into the reported ransom.

National Court prosecutor Jesus Alonso sent a written request for the ransom investigation to Judge Santiago Pedraz, asking that the financial web involved in the alleged payment be untangled, including commissions paid to intermediaries in the negotiations, CNN+ reported from the courthouse.

The prosecutor also called on the judge to take testimony from all 36 crew members from the ship.

Various government ministers have sidestepped questions since Tuesday about whether a ransom was paid, but Spanish media reported the payment to the pirates totaled $3.5 million to $4 million.

A leading Spanish fishing industry executive, Juan Manuel Vieites, told CNN on Wednesday he was certain a ransom was paid for the release of the Spanish tuna trawler.

But Vieites, who heads the Euroatun pan-European tuna fishing industry group and a Spanish tuna canning association, said he wasn’t sure about the amount of the ransom. He declined to provide details.

The crew included 16 sailors from Spain and 20 from Africa and Asia.

A day after the hijacking, Spanish military monitoring the situation captured two pirate suspects as they left the fishing boat and later brought them to Madrid. The two were indicted Monday on 36 counts of kidnapping and armed robbery.

They could face sentences of more than 200 years in prison each because of the multiple kidnapping counts.

Pirates have captured more than 50 ships this year off Somalia.

This is where Duran Duran put their “We want to sound like Chic crossed with the Sex Pistols” money where their mouth was, and came out sounding like, erm, Hipsway. But credit where it’s due, it has some funk and a nicely rearranged ‘Union Of The Snake’ chorus, and full marks for actually trying. With Andy Taylor jettisoned, they no longer needed to pull shoddy rock shapes and could get on with working that groove.

It’s just a pity no one cared anymore.

Evangelist Alamo sentenced to 175 years on sex charges

(CNN) — Evangelist Tony Alamo is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison after an Arkansas judge sentenced him to 175 years Friday on charges that included taking minors across state lines for sex, according to prosecutors.

A jury convicted Alamo in July on 10 federal counts covering offenses that spanned 11 years and dated back to 1994, according to documents from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

Alamo, the 75-year-old founder and leader of Tony Alamo Christian Ministries, will serve the sentences on each count consecutively, for a total of 175 years in prison, prosecutors said.

In addition to his sentence, Alamo was fined $250,000, court documents showed.

His lawyer filed an appeal Friday.

Christopher Plumlee, assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, welcomed the sentence.

“Given the number of victims and the difficult type of testimony they had to provide in order to get to trial, it’s gratifying for them to see him get this sentence,” he said. “Not only did they entrust their lives to him, he did it in the name of God. And he betrayed their trust.”

Authorities in September 2008 arrested Alamo, whose real name is Bernie Hoffman, and raided his 15-acre compound near Texarkana, Arkansas.

An indictment released in November 2008 accused Alamo of transporting five girls across state lines for sex. The criminal complaint included accounts from three girls, two of whom were 17 when the complaint was released last year, and one who was 14.

All three said Alamo sexually abused them.

In a phone interview last year with CNN, Alamo called the accusations a hoax.

“They’re just trying to make our church look evil … by saying I’m a pornographer. Saying that I rape little children. … I love children. I don’t abuse them. Never have. Never will.”

It is a violation of the US Constitution for the government to attack any religion, especially Christianity!! My trial is government vs. the Bible. The five young women who are falsely testifying against me have all been convinced to do so by the FBI.

The FBI paid all of their tuition to go to a place called Wellspring, which is a “deprogramming center.” Deprogramming is a nice word for hypnosis, brainwashing, mind-control, voodoo, black magic. Their testimony is not to be believed because it is not true, and they are not in their right mind. They are under a hateful spell of witchcraft. They (in court) have all said that I, Tony Alamo, said, “The Lord said you are to marry me.” This is all a lie. I never told that to any one of them. Their testimonies cannot be believed because they are all uniformly brainwashed. They (the young women) never contacted the FBI; the FBI contacted every one of them and gave them thousands of dollars and many gifts to lie for them. The FBI is against the Bible, Christianity, God, and all Christian churches.  

The legal age of marriage is puberty. Webster’s Dictionary states childhood is the “state or time of being a child; state or time from birth or infancy to puberty or maturity.” Webster’s definition of puberty is “the age when one becomes capable to bear children, which is marked by maturing of the reproductive organs, with the onset of menstruation in the female; the period at which sexual maturity is reached.” The Bible says this as well.

God’s Word, the Bible, never condemns a man for having more than one wife!  

Remember how they murdered, burnt up, the Christians at Waco, Texas! They are demonic. Witnesses for the FBI and all those they have paid to go to Wellspring are all saying the same thing, what they are told to say.

TONY ALAMO CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES 

The most important part of this picture? The cup.

The film is rich enough and so multi-faceted that you can watch it over and over again and find new aspects of its storytelling and filmmaking to admire each time. Revisiting it tonight, the thing I was most into wasn’t how perfectly edited it is, or the way Hitchcock used wardrobe color to such simple, powerful effect. No, tonight I was amused, because this movie casts Carey Grant in a less-common light.

In the movie, Ingrid Bergman plays a high-profile playgirl whose father was just convicted of being a German spy. Carey Grant plays a federal agent assigned to recruit her to gather intelligence on some of her father’s friends. She falls in love with Carey Grant, and though he’s too cold to admit it, he loves her, too. Then he finds out her assignment is to seduce a man who used to be in love with her.

That’s where Carey Grant goes from being cold to flat-out cruel. He sneers his way through his scenes with Bergman, accosting her in Hays-approved innuendo for going through with the plan, while she grows to resent the fact that he didn’t ask her not to. This is not the dashing, charming Carey Grant or even the funny and accessible Carey Grant that producer David O. Selznick wanted to hire as a way of ensuring that the film would turn a profit. No, to us today, this is more like tuning in to watch this show Dexter you’ve heard so much about because that father from 3rd Rock From The Sun is in it and being treated to John Lithgow’s tortured, horrifying performance as the so-called “Trinity Killer.”

3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN was originally going to have much darker finale.

People knew the range Grant was capable of, but I think we can all agree he’s primarily known as a dreamy leading man. Selznick sent notes throughout the re-writing process asking that Hitchcock and his collaborators be sure that Grant’s character be charming enough, but Grant and Hitchcock took his character in a slightly different direction. From the moment Bergman meets him, we as the audience trust him. This is partly because Cary Grant carries certain cultural baggage nowadays, but mostly it’s because he does bring the charm. (His response when she tells him her car is outside is easy to miss, but something few other actors could have pulled off quite so well.) We don’t know what his angle is, but we decide that Bergman should trust him.

And then, five minutes later, he decides to just up and knock her out.

Since Thursday’s massacre, tons of evidence has surfaced that this man was on record about his views against our war on those who want to destroy this nation and his allegiance to this false region of hate and death.

Why will the US military not honorably discharge ALL who claim Islam as their religion? In the end, their allegiance is NOT to this nation but to the satanically inspired teachings of Mohammed. So you still think Islam is a “religion of peace?” Even before 9/11, I have tried my best to warn people about the false religion of Islam. Islam is a false religion dreamed up by a Mecca businessman named Muhammed 1400 years ago that has been spread from day one by hatred and death and has led the souls of those who followed its lies to the eternal flames of hell. It is the fastest growing religion in the world with nearly 2 billion people on the planet following the teachings of the Qu’ran, the book of fables Muhammed inspired that makes up the theology of this false religion. While Muslims like to claim they are a religion of love and peace, their teachings and actions over 1400 years continually prove they are about hatred and death. Of course there will be Muslim apologists who say that these are only the extremists, just like they try to distance themselves from their brothers in this “peaceful religion” who flew the planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the one intended for the Capital building that was crashed in a Pennsylvania field by some real American heroes. Do you remember a few years ago when there was a cartoon in a Dutch newspaper depicting Muhammed with a bomb in his headdress? There were riots and people were actually killed over a CARTOON! Remember a year or so ago when Pope Benedict simply shared the historical fact that Islam was spread by violence and death and the Catholic churches that were burned down and the nuns killed by Muslims protesting his statements?

Do you remember the Islamic activist group CAIR that has ties to terrorist groups and operates in this country as an “advocacy group” for Muslims, and their 4 year campaign to take the Liveprayer TV program off this air for simply having the audacity to tell the truth about their false religion? After 1,175 programs and 4 1/2 yrs on the air, the gutless executives at CBS who owned the station we had broadcast on in Tampa since March of 2003 finally caved in to the intimidation and fear of this group. Over the years they had been successful in silencing other media personalities from saying anything negative about Islam, and I am certain, emboldened by their intimidation of CBS, is now doing all they can to take radio talk show host Michael Savage off the air.

These people are not about love or peace or unity. They are about one thing. Converting the world to their false religion and those who get in their way or who refuse to follow their lies will be silenced and killed. The word “Islam” literally means “submission.” Maybe you don’t understand what it means when their “holy book” says “death to all infidels.” An “infidel” by their definition is anyone who has not converted to their false beliefs. This is their book. These are their teachings. THIS IS WHAT ALL MUSLIMS BELIEVE!

That is why I was stunned the other day when I came across an article about many high profile Christian leaders who are forming some sort of alliance with top Muslim leaders. Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners, Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Pastors Rick Warren of Saddleback and Bill Hybles of Willow Creek, and Robert E. Cooley, president emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, are just a few of the prominent Christians who have signed a letter issued by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture as a response to a letter signed last month by 138 representative Muslim leaders calling on the two Abrahamic faiths to love God and neighbors together.

Sounds nice doesn’t it? These Muslim clerics are not looking for love and peace, only mainstream acceptance! The very teachings of their false religion doesn’t call for this type of peace, only the DEATH of those who refuse to convert to their lies. I know these high profile Christians can’t be that stupid, so there has to be some other motivation. Sadly, I have documented for you in the past the key leaders who sold out in the 80s to Moon’s Unification Cult to give that lie from hell mainstream acceptance. Now, we have several very high profile prominent Christian leaders getting in bed with Muslim leaders!

Don’t these people read the Bible? The Bible says MUCH about who we associate with, about avoiding being associated with the wrong people. In Numbers 33:55, God warned Israel that bad associations would be a continual thorn in their side. In Exodus 34:12 and Ezra 9:14, Israel was specifically forbidden to develop relationships with ungodly nations. You can go all throughout the Bible and read God’s warnings and what He says about the type of relationships we enter into and those we associate with. That is why these ecumenical movements that seek to bring all the false religions and faiths of the world together as one is such a damnable lie. It is so damnable, in the final days there will be a One World Religion that all will be forced to be part of.

Some have asked what is wrong with being part of these groups with the false religions and cults of the world. Simple! THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH, THE TRUTH OF THE BIBLE. What is required when you enter into any of these ecumenical groups is that you lay aside the absolutes of the Bible. IT IS CALLED COMPROMISE, SOMETHING I HAVE PREACHED ON CONTINUALLY FOR 2 DECADES! IT IS COMPROMISE THAT HAS MADE THE CHURCH SO WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE. IT IS COMPROMISE THAT HAS ALLOWED SOME CHURCHES TO ACCEPT AND CONDONE SINS LIKE HOMOSEXUALITY AND ABORTION. IT IS COMPRISE THAT HAS CAUSED CHURCHES TO STOP BELIEVING AND TEACHING THAT THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED INERRANT WORD OF GOD, REPRESENTING ABSOLUTE TRUTH AND OUR FINAL AUTHORITY IN ALL MATTERS.

IT IS COMPROMISE THAT ALLOWS MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD TO ASSOCIATE WITH THOSE WHO FOLLOW RELIGIONS AND FAITHS IN COMPLETE REBELLION TO GOD, HIS TRUTH, AND HIS SON JESUS!!!

I love and care about you so much. I can only pray as I continue to sound this trump of warning that people will wake up. I cringe every time I hear people like President Obama state that Islam is a “religion of peace.” ISLAM HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT PEACE, ONLY DEATH! I have shared with you earlier this year how I felt that Islam would be the United States Babylon if we didn’t turn back to God and His Truth. As I watch what is happening in this nation I firmly believe that now even more than when the Holy Spirit led me to write that special message. Recently, a Muslim nation bought a 5% stake in Citicorp. The energy requirements of this nation are still tied almost exclusively to the oil we get out of Muslim nations. Muslims who have come to the United States have refused to assimilate into the American way of life, instead, are doing all they can to force Americans to assimilate into their way of life.

Also, please don’t buy this political correct lie that their are “good Muslims” and “bad Muslims.” By their own definition, a good Muslim is one who follows the Qu’ran and the teachings of Islam without question or deviation. The goal of Islam is to convert the world to their false religion, and if you don’t think they want to turn the United States into a Muslim nation, you have been sound asleep. The sad thing is, this has only happened because the church has quit being the church. Christians have taken themselves out of the marketplace and are hiding in the safety and profitability of the “Christian trough.” Sadly, many of those who have ventured into the marketplace have compromised the Gospel by entering into unholy alliances with cults like the Mormons and false religions like Islam.

If there was ever a time for the true followers of Christ to rise up it is now. Jesus is coming at any moment, the final days of human history are unfolding, and it is time to take our stand for Him and His Truth and help bring in that last great harvest of souls. The “allah” of Islam is NOT the God of the Bible, but an imaginary, murderous deity, a stone moon rock housed in the Kabba in Mecca. The Qu’ran is not a holy book, but a book of fables that calls for the death of all who refuse to follow its lies. Islam is NOT a religion of peace, but one of death. The only true peace there is comes from the Prince of Peace Himself, Jesus, the One who overcomes death and promises those who follow Him life, and life everlasting!
