While doing research for her role as Etta James in the movie “Cadillac Records”, Beyonce was introduced to Phoenix House, a substance abuse treatment center.  She was compelled to offer assistance after speaking with recovering addicts.

Eyelash Extensions Care

You were told that your eyelash extensions will last six to eight weeks. But is this really true? After investing in a full set of lashes, you need some pertinent information on how to extend the life of your extensions. Read this to understand the real deal about the longevity of eyelash extensions.

You may have to ditch some of your tried and trusted beauty routine. Most cosmetic products contain solvents that break down lash adhesives. This includes not only products used on the face, but also shampoo and conditioner. In order to maintain your lashes at home you must switch to beauty products that do not contain glycols and carbonates. Some examples of glycols and carbonates found in mascara and eye makeup removers are propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and propylene carbonate. To simplify aftercare procedures many eyelash extensionists provide aftercare kits to clients for an additional fee.

You can maintain an active lifestyle with your eyelash extensions that can include swimming, sweating, and crying. However, it is still important to be gentle when handling them. When washing the eye area use minimal pressure, letting your specially formulated cleanser do the work. Avoid towel drying your lashes as this could cause you to accidently rip them out. Also never tug, twist, or pick at your lashes. Disposable mascara spoolies can be used to keep lashes separated.

There is nothing more frustrating than spending top dollar for a product that does not do what it promised. Do not go home from the salon and let your eyelash extensions get washed down the drain by using your old products. Your beautiful new lashes can really last for six to eight weeks. Eyelash extensions are not a do it yourself project. You need to make sure you have a professional applying them, using the right kind of products. Applying eyelash extensions is not a twenty minute project that can be taken on in your bathroom with the kit you bought online or at the neighborhood beauty supply store. In an effort to avoid the seemingly high price tag many people attempt this procedure as if they’re simply dying their hair. This is very dangerous and is not worth the price you may pay by trying to cut costs.
Eyelash extensions are tediously bonded to each individual lash. The procedure typically takes up to two hours. Sharp tweezers are utilized to apply each lash. Formaldehyde, which is found in most eyelash glue, may cause skin irritations and allergies.
