I wanted to tell you about these amazing phones a few days ago and finally I have time to do it. These all come from NTT Docomo, the largest telecommunication network in Japan, which recently launched a few new series of cool cell phones for fashionable people, business users and people focused on mobile entertainment.

The phones you are probably already admiring in this article are the new models introduced in the docomo STYLE series, which includes: the F-02B handset that’s waterproof and comes with a tiny fragrance holder for when you need to apply more perfume on you, the L-01B with illumination and secondary touchscreen, the L-02B that brings beauty tips and special content for girls, the L-03B in a compact design with interface available in three languages including English, the N-01B with illumination and design inspired from French manicure, the N-03B with waterproof capability and water pattern, the P-02B with integrated camera that’s accessible via the touchscreen, the SH-02B with crystal-like pattern and elegant lights, the SH-04B designed by Q-pot to look like a melting chocolate (my favorite), and the SH-05B teen phone designed by people from the Seventeen magazine.

Sebuah ponsel nyentrik telah diumumkan oleh Fujitsu sebagai bagian dari jajaran baru NTT DoCoMo. Ponsel ini bisa membelah menjadi dua bagian. F-04B ini Fujitsu announced a new cell phone this week that is capable of splitting into two parts. The F-04B was announced as part of NTT DoCoMo’s new line-up. It is scheduled to hit Japanese shelves in March or April.

Pada pandangan pertama, F-04B tak beda dengan sebuah ponsel slider (geser) biasa. Namun penelitian lebih lanjut mengungkap bahwa Anda bisa melepaskan kait sehingga setengah bagian belakang dari ponsel bisa dikeluarkan. Setengah bagian atas unit terdiri dari layar sentuh 3,4”, modul radio, dan antena. Setengah bagian belakang terdiri dari keyboard QWERTY dabn keypad numerik yang digeser keluar (slide out). Ketika tidak terkoneksi, kedua bagian yang terpisah ini tetap bisa saling berhubungan melalui koneksi Bluetooth sampai jarak 10 meter.

Setengah bagian atas unit bisa bekerja sendirian. Jadi Anda bisa membawanya dan meninggalkan setengah bagian lagi di rumah. Jika disatukan, Anda mendapatkan keuntungan tambahan, seperti kemampuan untuk memakai keyboard saat memanggil atau menerima panggilan dan menggunakan bagian atas untuk mengecek e-mail atau memotret.

Kedua bagian telepon memiliki sebuah mikropon dan speaker, jadi masing-masing bisa dipakai untuk menerima panggilan. Bagian atas telepon punya ringer dan vibrator, sedangkan bagian bawah memiliki lampu yang akan memberitahu Anda bila ada panggilan masuk. Selain menerima panggilan dengan salah satu dari bagian ponsel, Anda juga dapat menelepon. INi kendati bagian bawah telepon tidak memiliki displai untuk memberitahu Anda apakah nomor yang Anda masukkan sudah benar.

Detail lengkap dari ponsel ini belum tersedia, tetapi NTT DoCoMo mengatakan bahwa ponsel akan berdimensi 11,4×5,1×20,4 cm dengan bobot 173 gram. Waktu siaga pada moda WCDMA disebutkan 600 jam, dan 400 jam di moda GSM. Waktu bicara dalam moda WCDMA 300 menit, atau 330 menit di moda GSM. Layar ponsel disebutkan memiliki resolusi 480×960 pixel, dengan antarmuka bahasa Inggris dan Jepang, dilengkapi built-in Felica contactless smartcard, dan kamera 12,2 megapixel. Fujitsu dikabarkan juga akan menawarkan opsi sebuah unit proyektor yang dapat dijepitkan ke bagian bawah ponsel (menggantikan tempat keyboard).

The economic news has been hard to swallow this past week in the U.S. Job numbers were the worst on record, hitting the highest unemployment figures since 1983. For Japan it’s not just about the labor market, but the yen’s constant appreciating has been hurting the export driven economy.

The business climate has been suffering as well, as reported by the Bank of Japan earlier this week. Both large businesses and small / medium sized businesses are still finding the economic climate “very tough.” Therefore, the Bank of Japan is looking into buying up some commercial paper to fuse monetary stimulus into the struggling system.

The challenge in the business market today in Japan is evidenced by the cell phone industry. Each newspaper released a story about the big three in the cell phone business.

Asahi “Out of the three big telecommunication companies, Softbank alone reported profits” The profits over the past half year in Japan for cell phone companies were released today. The cell phone market has hit a slump, with both NTT and KDDI recording losses, while Softbank was the only company that recorded profits.

NTT’s loss in profits is shown by the sharp decrease in number of units sold, down from 13.2% from last year. The number of business to business contracts is also below expectations. KDDI was also unable to pull themselves out of the red, and the Asahi sited investments not performing up to expectation.

The Asahi cited that Softbank’s good performance was due mainly to sales of the iPhone. Even in a bad economy the phone in Japan is selling well, that and a contract with Yahoo is also working well for the cell phone company.

Nikkei “Only Softbank reports profits, due to their iPhone” The Nikkei also highlighted the iPhone, and went on to say both the smart phone and the iphone services helped Softbank beat out their competition.  

The numbers, according to the Nikkei, were for NTT the lowest profits since 1998. KDDI also had total profits 4% less than previously released. Softbank was the only winner, having 2% overall increase in profits, or an increase in business profits of 49%.

Yomiuri “The new strand of flu has killed an Infant” The Yomiuri didn’t report on the cell phone companies and instead focused on news about the swine flu. In Kyoto on the evening of the 9^th, a mother had noticed her baby wasn’t responding to her calls. She then rushed her baby to the hospital, and the baby was pronounced dead, having a 37.2 degree temperature. The city research center confirmed that the baby had died of Swine Flu.

Nov.7 – The company announced to deliver 1G bps optical network services on 2010.  It can be used by customers who are stayed in Next Generation Network (NGN) areas. It’s a kind of answer to businesses and associations who want cloud computing.

Nov.6 – Both of parties exchanged contracts to start cloud content businesses each other. In their scenario, a new company will be started in this year so that PC, TV , Mobile and so on will be supported in the contents delivered services by the end of next June.

Details of this agreement isn’t concrete now.

Nov.1 – The company has started the peta mining project  and built facilities named "Social Brain" with 200 servers last July. In this project, Docomo will address to analysis large data for city planning and improve traffic network, with it’s real-time population research.

However, it’s in the experimentation phase, and will need some other factors, the company added.
