<p>Para poder disfrutar de juegos modernos necesitas si o si una tarjeta de video , conocidas como aceleradoras gráficas. Lo que hacen es quitarle trabajo al procesador central del computador o Cpu y dedicarse exclusivamente a la generación de dibujos en la pantalla (polígonos y triángulos que se calculan por millones por segundo).  Para computadores &#8216;grandes&#8217;  o de escritorio se encuentran de diferentes marcas y características, donde lo que más lo diferencia son los precios, que suelen bajar mucho, pongámosle unas 3 o 4 veces al año, ya que la tecnología avanza sumamente rápido en este aspecto. Una tarjeta top del momento, como la Geforce GTX 285 de Nvidea que esta costando en este momento 420 Euros (que son como 300 lucas chilenas), en 3 meses más puede costar 250 Euros y en un año más llegar a costar solo 100 Euros.</p>
<p><strong>¿En que me debo fijar para comprar una Tarjeta gráfica?</strong><br />
<strong>Primero:</strong> Los puertos con los cuales cuenta tu pc, o donde la vas a enchufar.</p>
<p>Las tarjetas que encuentras actualmente en el mercado en su mayoría son PCI-EXPRESS , asi que debes fijarte si tu pc tiene la posibilidad de conectar una de estas.</p>
<p><strong>¿Como puedo saber si mi pc tiene ese conector?</strong><br />
Este puerto es relativamente nuevo (a lo más 2 años), por lo tanto si tu pc lo compraste antes del 2008 difícil que tenga un puerto PCI Express. Pero por si acaso, estas son algunas sugerencias.</p>
<p>1.- Buscar el manual de tu Pc y ver las características.<br />
2.- Abrir tu pc, y buscar algo que diga PCI- Express<br />
3.- Si no te atreves abrir tu pc(solo debes sacar la tapa que son 2 tornillos), instala un programa como el everest o ZCpu y te van a decir las especificaciones de tu pc, luego podrás buscar en la página web del fabricante de tu tarjeta madre.</p>
<p><strong>¿Cuanto cuestan y cual me recomiendas?</strong><br />
Si eres un jugador novato y no necesitas algo tan extremo,  con una tarjeta de hasta $50.000 pesos chilenos( 100 Us) tienes más que suficiente. En este rango te recomendaría</p>

Eso seria todo, puedes tomarlo como una introducción para que te hagas una idea solamente, quedaron muchos temas pendientes como las marcas de los diferentes fabricantes o las tarjetas de videos en Notebook que no son muy comunes por que suben el valor del notebook, ya que suelen calentarse mucho y necesitan un mejor sistema de ventilación, por lo que necesitan más potencia y además  gastan más  batería, pero eso es otro tema&#8230;</p>

<p>If you have an Nvidia card designed for DirectX 10 (8800 or better Windows XP or Vista), and you update to the latest drivers released June 19,2009, you might find something new in the NVIDEA Command Center: Stereoscopic 3D glasses support.</p>
<p>I have not seen this feature mentioned anywhere, not even on <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html" target="_blank">Nvidea&#8217;s own site</a>. Probably because it is in the experimental stage. Older drivers supported it, but you had to hack your registry to enable it. Now you can enable it with a couple of clicks.</p>
<p>There are two methods that are supported. The first requires a special 3D ready monitor with two video inputs, a set of glasses that opens and closes shutters on either eye and an IR device that triggers the glasses, <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_3D_Vision_buying_options.html" target="_blank">at a cost of $600 or so</a>. Eventually this will come down, but it costs to be on the cutting edge.</p>
<p>The other method is to use a <a href="http://www.the3dmarket.com/Plastic/anaglyphic.asp" target="_blank">pair of red/cyan glasses</a>, (called anaglyph 3D, or Nvidea calls it <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d_vision_discover.html" target="_blank">3D Discover</a>) which if you don&#8217;t have a pair lying around, you can get four pairs packaged in the DVD of <em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Kids-Game-Over-Two-Disc-Collectors/dp/B0000TG9ZG" target="_blank">Spy Kids 3D</a> </em>which you could probably find on sale for $10 or less. I have a few different kinds lying around and the ones from Spy Kids work the best.</p>

<p>The stereoscopic effect can be enabled or disabled with a simple key press (ctrl-t is default but you can set it to whatever you want) and works with any Direct 3D game with mixed results.</p>
<p><em><strong>It does not work with OpenGL</strong></em> &#8212; Sorry <em>Second Life</em> and <em>Google Earth</em> fans!</p>
<p>I tried it in <em>Guild Wars</em>, and the stereoscopic 3D looked fine, but the text labels on the screen were not in 3D and looked wrong. Also much of the text is in bright primary colors that changes with the red/cyan glasses. I am sure there are other games in the same boat, so the system is not perfect.</p>

<p>I tried stereoscopic mode in other direct 3D games. <em>Tomb Raider Underworld</em> looks fantastic, race games are amazing fun in anaglyph 3D, even <em>The Sims 2</em> and <em>3</em> work fine. Because all of this is handled at the driver level, no game has to be rewritten to work, it just has to use Direct 3D. Older games work wonderfully well without having to be rewritten.</p>
<p>There is a certain fatigue factor after long use, so you can&#8217;t play this way for hours, but it is a fun way to rediscover many of your older games, and enjoy them again. It also adds a new feature to PC gaming you can&#8217;t get on consoles.</p>
<p>Apparently once they get the bugs worked out, NVidea will be promoting it more and will be selling special anaglyph glasses anywhere video cards are sold.</p>

<p>We thought the first quality mobile internet device (MID) would come from the likes of <a href="http://stuffmiddleeast.wordpress.com/2009/02/17/day-of-the-android-at-mwc/" target="_blank">Nvidia</a>, but it seems Samsung has beaten them all to the punch. The Mondi claims to be the first handheld WiMAX device stateside, with full QWERTY, D-pad and rather large-looking screen. The juicy details haven&#8217;t surfaced yet (the information came from a Samsung RSS feed) but here&#8217;s hoping it&#8217;ll come touting Android. More info as and when it gets released.</p>

NVIDEA has finally decided to step up their game this Christmas by now allowing laptop users with dedicated graphics cards to download the drivers straight off of their website. There is two reasons why this is so great.</p>
<p>1.	Before this update if you reformatted your computer and you did not have all the disks for the drivers you had to go to whatever manufacturers website you bought the laptop from and pray that they had the Graphic Card Driver available for download. If this did not work then you had to scour the net for an unofficial “hacked” driver download.</p>
<p>2.	NVIDEA’s website offers the latest driver updates so anyone who owns a gaming laptop should hop on over to <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us">http://www.nvidia.com/Download/</a> and download their latest driver. In many cases you will be able to see a 5-10 percent performance increase.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Der Spielehersteller Valve führt regelmäßig im Abstand von einigen Monaten über seine Internet-Vetriebsplattform Steam eine Umfrage über die technische Ausstattung der mit der Software bespielten PCs durch. Die aktuelle Studie des Half-Life-Entwicklers, welche seit November letzten Jahres lief, umfasst die Daten von mehr als 1,7 Millionen Rechnern und liefert einige interessante Details. So arbeitet in knapp 60 Prozent der Systeme immer noch ein Prozessor mit nur einem Kern. Quad-Core-CPUs haben lediglich 4,3 Prozent der Steam-Nutzer in ihrem PC. Bei den Prozessoren führt Intel in der Statistik mit 58,5 Prozent gegenüber AMD mit 41,5 Prozent der Steam-Nutzer. Mehr als ein Drittel der untersuchten Systeme hat bereits zwei oder mehr GByte Arbeitsspeicher; lediglich ein Viertel besitzt weniger als ein GByte RAM.</p>
<p>Die Rangliste nach Grafikchip-Hersteller führt Nvidia mit 62 Prozent vor AMD mit 30,5 Prozent an. Intels integrierte Chipsatz-Grafikkerne folgen abgeschlagen mit 2,7 Prozent. Während die aktuellen GPUs von AMD der Radeon-HD-3800er-Serie nur in einem Prozent der Rechner stecken, führen Nvidias High-End-Chips der GeForce-8800-Serie das Feld mit 9,4 Prozent an. Die fünf Jahre alte GeForce FX 5200 aus dem Niedrigpreissegment liegt erstaunlicherweise auf dem fünften Platz und damit noch vor sämtlichen Radeon-Grafikkarten. Das Verhältnis von Windows XP zu Vista beträgt 80,9 zu 17,6 Prozent. Ein DirectX-10-taugliches System, bestehend aus entsprechender Grafikkarte und Vista nutzt momentan nur eine Minderheit von 9,6 Prozent der befragten Nutzer. 64 Bit scheint für Spieler derzeit noch kein Thema darzustellen, lediglich 3,4 Prozent haben ein derartiges Betriebssystem installiert.</p>

Seus integrantes são compostos por criadores na área de hardware e software, além de desenvolvedores de games e distribuidores, e dentre os nomes não há ninguém menos que  a <b>Acer/Gateway</b>, <b>Activision</b>, <b>AMD</b>, <b>Dell/Alienware</b>, <b>Epic Games</b>, <b>Intel</b>, <b>Microsoft</b>, <b>NVidia</b> e <b>Razer</b>.</p>
<p>O objetivo dessa aliança é acelerar a inovação na área, além de fortalecer o marketing e discutir o combate à pirataria.</p>
