На NVISION ‘08 определено е било забавно

За протокола – 1102 топчета за paintball са изстреляни едновременно. Идеята е, че това е един вид метафора, с която да опишат и обяснят паралелната изчислителна мощ на GPU-тата.

Last night I saw a live episode of Diggnation at the Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose, California.

The lower section of the theatre was a little less than half filled, which was great because we got seats in the sixth row. The show was so awesome, and it was cool to see it live because it’s much more personal. Kevin and Alex interacted with the crowd a lot, and often got easily distracted… meaning the actual show didn’t start right away. They would start talking about something then say “Okay, we need to start the show!!” then they would just get sidetracked again.

The show was very funny, and a few of this weeks stories included “15 Pictures That Look Photoshopped, But Aren’t”, something about Jerry Seinfeld agreeing to star in commercials for Microsoft, and an 85 year old woman pulling a gun on a 17 year old guy, and demanding that he call 911 on himself. 

Here’s a video of Kevin and Alex discussing the Seinfeld/Microsoft story… and someone suggests that Kevin be the next Microsoft spokesperson, when he replies “I wouldn’t do it.”

They also threw a bunch of shirts into the crowd but sadly, only two Diggnation shirts. The rest were nvision 08 shirts since the live Diggnation show was a part of the convention. I caught one, although it’s a size XL so I won’t be wearing it except maybe to sleep in. I also got a few stickers they were handing out.

I can’t wait to see the show this weekend and see what they kept/edited out. They shot lots of video of the crowd, I wonder how much will be in the actual show.

the second day of nvision08 was almost like the first day except for the fact that there were less give aways which i did not like. one of the best parts of the second day was going to watch the live showing of diggnation, it was fun and i got to meet a lot of people. then i found out that they are handing out free energy dirnks to everyone and anyone can get as many as they wanted, so i really liked that, the energy drinks name was “bawls” which i found to be an interisting tytle. so that was the day almost same and the first with minor changes. and overall i like it.

PS: my pictures of nvision08 will be posted by the end of this week, or when i get back to home base. so stay tuned for the pictures.

ok so i just finished my first day of nvision08 and my first day impresions is that it is awesome. the show floor was small compared to other eletronics conventions, but it did not mind. most of the show floor was token up by the LAN. when i first got there i went to the “test drive” area where they allowed everyone who had at least a general admision to play a few games like crysis coll of duty modern war fare and unreal tournment 3. and if anyone of you want to know i havd a press pass and a general admision. then i went to the physical show floor and looked at all the booths. i won a graphic card form MSI (a 8500Gt) and i also got a grapload of shirts on top of the free shirts that they give you when you pick up you badge. i also did a few workshops on team fortress two stratigies and overclocking which were fun. i also entered in a bunch of contests to win computers. and i also played other games that were being showed in each individual booth, some boothes had a lot of games and some had none but i did not mind. then i got to talk to one of my idoles, his name is greg vederman, he works at voodoopc and so i talked to him about how i can get a job there me getting an intership there and it was such an honer so meet him and talk to him, and he was also verry nice and courtious. but there was one down side it was not a major downside but it was one and it was that there was no voodoo OMEN at the HP booth. i was expecting to see the OMEN and get hands on with the OMEN but it was not there so i aked greg and he had told me that they could not finish it or get it in for the show and that was the reason the OMEN was not there. he also had said that there was a verry small chance that they would get in at that very last moment, and i hope they get it in on tuesday because of the reason that i wont be attendin nvision08 on wednesday due to the reason that i will be going to lake tahoe. and if they do i hope to at least see it at another show or even before i get mine or even befor the OMEN is released in late september. so that was my impresions of nvision08 for the first day of the show. i will most likely have another post for the second day of the show. and i would like so have an impresion for the third day but i wont be there, but i really dont mind i will be a little sad that i wont be there but that is life and i have to live with it.
