I have a really long list of<del> lipsticks</del> cosmetics that I’d like to remove from their prospective slots in high end and drug stores) and take up a long-term engagement in my home (wherein once they enter there shall be no return).

Not exactly a cosmetic as you might think, but rather a product which facilitates appropriate application of <del>the only cosmetic product that matter</del>s the crucial piece of the puzzle for me.

My Spring/Summer theme is ~cream dream.~

For the most part (the exception always being lipstick), I’m only interested in light and dependable cream colour that stays in place. I want a Buffalo Soldier y cream blusher, and a warrior in my lipstick.

There are a few mascaras on my list but they just do the organize and separate my very curly lashes (which tend to be very wiry and out of order!)

The Divas and Hilbillys :

1. Nyx Blushes: I love Nyx. They’re like a budget Nars. I always find colours that work well for my skin tone and I’ve got a a laundry list (I’m talking spin cycle long) worth of Nyx lipsticks that I’ve got to have. I like bright colour, high impact, and great pigment. And Nyx does all of that (for the price of a ca of pop, a bag of chips, and a chocolate bar. Bow.

2. Nars Cream Blushes in Cactus Flower and Constantinople: There is no shame in my Nars loving game. I want all the Nars Makeup and I have no reservations in saying I plan to own every colour that is flattering to my skin tone – and that’s over 20 of them. Nars is really good at makeup for darker skin so the list is long and the road is steep. But I’ll get there. One day I’ll meet Francois Nars and I’ll say “Sir, did you ever know that you’re my hero?”

3. Benefit Sugarlicious, Feeling Dandy, and Go TropiCORAL Lip and Cheek Kits: I’m not really big on lip gloss (I have five on a laundry list that might seem borderline insane to some people), but I think I would like to layer the glosses included in this kits over the tints when I use them on my lips. I’ve tested these tints out in stores, and black ladies of colour I can #confirm that they show up well on dark skin. As you know I am an NW40 on the MAC scale, and I’m a Nars Macao for Sheer Glow and Martinique for their tinted moisturizer. Can’t wait to pick these up and show you how they look on darker skin. On the disappointing end of things the powders did seem rather chalky on my skin at first blush. However, I would have to do some extensive sampling and testing for you ladies and give you a solid confirmation that I’ve put a nail in the coffin and passed it on to friends who would put them to good use.

4. Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick: Now that I know I love the Smashbox formula I can go to town with all their lipsticks! And I’ve got a list that includes the following shades from their Be Legendary Collection: Mandarin, Electric Pink Matte, Melondrama, and Infrared Matte.

5. Le Métier de Beauté ‘Colour Core’ Moisture Stain Lipstick in Bombay, Rivera, and Madaket I’ve never tried them before but I know that I want them (and that I’ll love them for as long as they shall live.)

6. MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick: I know Mac is hit and miss with their collections, but we all know they do colour and pigment on the lips really well. And out of their new collection of Mineralize Lipsticks I’ve got Style Surge, Lady at Play, Everyday Diva, and Elegant Accent on my list. These are colours that I’m confident will work well on my skin (and indeed on skin tones lighter and darker than mine). Can’t wait to put these on!

Hopefully next time you see all these bad boys, it’ll be on my lips and cheeks!

x Ada

Just want to share with you an updated video of my updated makeup collection and storage. As most of you know that I started YouTube last year and my first clip was about my makeup collection. This year, my collection had grew bigger and I have new ways of how I organize my makeup that’s why I thought what a nice timing to film an updated one! With that being said, I hope you enjoy watching and check out the video! ♥

I believe that every woman + girl has at least one beauty product that they swear by + just can

I believe that every woman + girl has at least one beauty product that they swear by + just can’t live without. I was a late bloomer when it comes to makeup or even putting an effort into doing my hair. When you live in a place that has a Mud Season… it is more important to get your car dug out from a mud pit on a dirt road, than looking cute in high heels + perfect makeup. The full extent of my makeup routine in high school was black eyeliner + some mascara… on a good day.

It wasn’t until I was in my early 20′s that I developed an appreciate for makeup + putting an effort into what my hair looked like. After I obtained my nail license, I began working at Beau Totale Salon + Spa where my entire outlook changed. The great group of girls that worked there with me at the time (some of them are still working there!) taught me what it meant to actually “style” your hair + about correct makeup application.

Since those days I feel like I’ve tried a million different products; some good + some bad. Here are a few that have stuck with me that I use on a daily basis today:

e.l.f. Studio Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette ~ this palette comes with 100 colors in everything from muted shades to bright pops of color. It is great for everyday use, no matter what you’re wearing, without spending a lot on 100 separate pots of shadow {it’s only $10!}

Essence Multi Action False Lashes Mascara ~ you can get the false eyelash look without the hassle of accidentally gluing your eyeball shut {you know you’ve done it too!}

e.l.f. Essential All Over Color Stick in Spotlight ~ perfect for adding some shimmer + glow to your eyes, lips + face. I use this product mostly when I don’t feel like applying bronzer, but want a dewy glow to my skin.

NYX Glitter Powder ~ I have several of these pots of glitter in various colors. I add it on top of eye shadow or use it on it’s own. A trick I use is applying a thin layer of Vaseline to the area I want the glitter to stick prior to applying the glitter. This works great if you want a solid area of glitter instead of just a dusting.

Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Light ~ this is my go-to bronzer. It isn’t too light or too dark, just the perfect shade of sun-kissed skin. One thing I will say, if you do bronzer all-over your face, like I do, make sure you hit your ears + blend it down into your neck. Nothing worse than seeing someone with a mask of bronzer than ends at the jaw line.

L’Oreal Eye Defense ~ I have yet to find an eye cream I like that actually delivers the results they promise. In the morning, at night + even after I’ve already washed my face in the shower to get rid of mascara that just didn’t come off.

It’s rich, creamy texture seems to really keep the moisture in + curbs any itchy skin. No sign of stretch marks, yet… but I still have a few months to go.

Orange Wood Sticks ~ these are great for pushing cuticles or wrapping in cotton to use for cleaning up nail polish mistakes. For around $5 for over 100 of them, they make for cheap, useful tools.

e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer in Sheer + Pearl ~ keeps your eyeshadow on like glue!

NYX Cream Blush in Hot Pink ~ just a dab or two of this hot pink cream blush gives you the perfect flushed glow.

Cutie Animal Lens Case in Hippo ~ I don’t wear contact lenses, but I have a few pairs of theatrical cosmetic contacts + wear better to store them than this cute lens case?

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment ~ my hair is really dry from color processing + heat styling. I use this alternating every other day with a regular conditioner to keep my hair soft + healthy.

e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation in Sand ~ I usually go for a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation, until I found this. It has great coverage while still staying light + breathable on your skin. It has a semi-matte finish + stays put all day. Added bonus, SPF 15!

Bobby Pins + Wave Clips ~ since my hair is growing out + still fairly short, I don’t have much use for a lot of hair accessories. Wave clips are great for holding hair up while heat styling + clipping bangs out of your face while you apply makeup. Bobby pins are my go-to hair accessory for putting my hair up as best I can when it is too hot for even leaving the small amount of length I have down.
