Those lucky enough to be in or around the London area December 7th will have priority access to Rosalind Keep’s Trompe L’Oeil collection.

The new designer’s collection is a collaboration with high-street retailer Oasis and its gorgeous minimalist concept is already a rising trend on the catwalk: designer Mary Katrantzou infamously spear-headed the trend for both her A/W 2009/2010 and S/S 2010 collection.

While I’m not sure if Ms. Keep plans to make this statement her trademark, she’s having fun with the concept for meantime and it looks like a jackpot.

Que quer ver, quer ver, ver?” O gago Jardel, filho de pescador, é nativo em Jericoacoara e, por isso, uma dupla exceção. Jeri é um oásis para forasteiros, que ali se estabelecem em um ritmo cada vez maior com a sanha de explorar a potencialidade turística que o lugar oferece; ou apenas para trabalhar com o que gostam. Por isso convivem ali italianos, paulistas, franceses, curitibanos, alemães e cariocas que se revezam nos papeis de prestadores de serviço ou turistas. E a linha entre uma aspiração e outra é tênue. Jeri te explica rápido porque isso acontece.

Cinco horas separam quem sai de Fortaleza da terra do guia gago, com uma parada para a troca de veículo em Jijoca de Jericoacoara. A passagem é vendida no aeroporto, na rodoviária, agências de viagens e quiosques menos pretensiosos. O primeiro trecho (Fortaleza-Jijoca) é feito por ônibus extremamente confortáveis da companhia Redenção, em duas categorias: a VIP, com 4 horas de viagem bem condicionadas pelo ar e saídas a partir das 8h30 da Praia de Iracema; e a regular, que dura 5 horas e meia e custa R$ 38 com o inconveniente de realizar várias paradas.

O segundo trecho batiza o visitante no processo de rústico encantamento. O ar condicionado deixa saudades assim que o rosto cruza as portas do ônibus e os pés queimam no traslado da bagagem até a Jardineira. Trata-se de um caminhão adaptado para passageiros, que os abriga sentados em bancos inteiriços para sete ou oito pessoas. O veículo é preparado com tração nas quatro rodas, dispositivo essencial para vencer as estradas de areia que são refeitas todos os dias, com a ajuda das dunas e a energia eólica. No teto torram as mochilas debaixo dos 40 graus do lugar. Na região de Jijoca e Jericoacoara, não cai um fio de água durante cerca de seis meses do ano. No entanto, como prova o trajeto de uma hora entre município e o nosso destino final, o vento constante é um eunuco natural. Desse ponto de vista, é a terra onde já se chega rei.

A monarquia então desembarca da Jardineira, torna a se reconhecer como plebe e termina por se assemelhar aos beduínos do Saara. Caminhar na areia fofa com 40 kg nas costas não é lá uma tarefa para nobres, mas o refinamento o espera nas pousadas do lugar. São muitas opções e, em número razoável, até baratas. Dá para escolher em uma democrática faixa de R$ 25 (solteiro) a R$ 200 (casal) pela diária, mas existem ainda as opções multimilionárias para quem pretende manter o reinado. Eu e minha querida mochila escolhemos uma opção de R$ 160 a diária em quarto duplex, com café da manhã e acomodações dispostas como chalés de madeira. A 50 metros da praia, dá para decidir se você quer encarar a primeira vista da praia da rede instalada na varanda do seu quarto ou do deck onde são servidas as refeições. Embora as hospedagens tenham lá suas opções, é um pecado não buscar um bom restaurante para findar o jejum iniciado em Fortaleza. Como desembarquei às 14h, tive tempo de alimentar minha fome na medida certa para comer bem. A 50 metros da pousada, fiz o reconhecimento da orla essencialmente gastronômica da praia de Jeri e estanquei, em dúvida. Um garçom esperto me fisgou com um cardápio convidativo: camarão no coco. Ao que pensei em uma porção de camarões com um molho da fruta mais onipresente do Nordeste, o homem traz uma cumbuca caprichada com crustáceos. Até a uva passa do arroz à grega eu comi.

Quando se come tanto assim, é bom entreter o resto do corpo que não se envolve com a digestão. Em Jeri, descobri a melhor maneira de fazê-lo. Comecei pelo exercício que se é obrigado a fazer para vencer a altura da duna. Os passos vacilam e os olhos padecem com a areia – que varre aquela montanha dourada como um espírito sereno, ansioso pelo reencontro com o mar. O vento pontilha sua presença nas pernas com pequenos beliscões zombeteiros. Dá para observar a vila à direita, as casas já encolhidas pela distância e o oceano à esquerda. Windsurfistas e kitsurfistas cortam as ondas como os novos jangadeiros de uma vila que não é mais dos pais de Jardel, nem dos nativos, nem dos estrangeiros, embora seja de todos eles. É a vila da praia entre as 10 mais bonitas do globo, segundo o Washington Post. É a vila cosmopolita, que passa na sua sala de cinema ao natural o filme mais belo e antigo do mundo. Em 30 minutos, o céu passa do azul ao laranja em um inesquecível périplo multicromático. Os coadjuvantes sofrem o efeito do calculado movimento do protagonista, seguro na sua trajetória rumo ao ostracismo diário que as nuvens e o mar lhe conferem. Em sua derradeira aparição, ele parece pedir à plateia que se manifeste. Assim, uns aplaudem, as crianças dão cambalhotas, o ambulante vende mais cervejas, os casais exercem seus clichês afetivos e outros simplesmente dão as costas e abandonam o cenário.

No lado exatamente oposto, a lua avisa timidamente que a noite só começou.

Segundo o site italiano wonderwall.it, o Oasis, ou melhor, a nova banda de Liam que ainda não tem nome, já tem “6 ou 7″ demos gravadas desde o mês passado. A informação teria sido obtida pelo pessoal do site na última sexta-feira, na porta dos estúdios da rádio DeeJay, onde Liam concedeu umaentrevista.

A banda, conforme já foi anunciado, tem Gem e Andy, que ajudam nas composições, nas guitarras, enquanto um novo e ainda não escolhido baixista assumirá os graves. Jay Darlington e Chris continuarão nos teclados e batera.

Créé en France en 1966, Oasis est une boisson plate à base d’ingrédients naturels et d’eau de source, sans conservateurs, sans colorants ni arômes artificiels, avec une teneur en fruit de 12% et un maximum de 10% de sucre ajouté. - du viral : un site Internet entièrement dédié à l’actualité de la marque Oasis sur lequel se retrouvent toutes les publicités et les vidéos insolites des « p’tits  fruits » ainsi que des jeux concours
- du réseau social : des profils des « p’tits fruits », une page fan (au nombre de 756 468 à la publication du post !!!!) reprenant les vidéos mais aussi les photos de leur dernière action de street-marketing, …
- du balisage rayon

La nouvelle variété d’Oasis est disponible en grandes surfaces au prix de 1,57 € la bouteille de 2L.

Voici donc un exemple de campagne publicitaire bien menée. Non seulement elle plait, mais en plus elle fait parler d’elle. En empruntant diverses formes, la promotion du produit est un succès complet. Les mini-stories d’Oasis font beaucoup rire avec leurs personnages délirants et leurs jeux de mots. Il paraît inutile de remettre en question leur dispositif de communication qui semble avoir fait ses preuves.

BIG NEWS:

HH-CAHPS will be delayed until 2012. This is to give home health agencies (HHAs) time to implement OASIS-C before implementing HH-CAHPS. Agencies will be required to do a dry run in the third quarter of 2010, and begin collecting data in October 2010. Agencies will have to submit the data they collect in their dry run to the Home Health CAHPS Data Center by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 21, 2011. Agencies will have to submit data from the fourth quarter of 2010 by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on April 21, 2011. Results from the dry run won’t be reported publicly, but the results from the fourth quarter will.

Mom and I braved the crowds at the mall yesterday (aren’t we supposed to be in a recession? Sure doesn’t look like it at all). Looks like Christmas has come a little early this year.

I started my Saturday like any other – by sleeping in and making a leisurely breakfast. All while enjoying some figure skating on TV.

When I have time, oatmeal always seems to make it on the menu.

• 1/3 cup oats, almond milk, water
• 1 tbsp Ruth’s Chia Goodness cereal
• 2 dried figs, chopped
• dried cranberries
• splash of vanilla
• peanut butter swirl
• Artisana Cacao Bliss

With the last of the Oasis Pomegranate Berry juice.

Once all that food was ingested and skating was over, we made our big trek to the mall, as well as the grocery store. By the time we got home, it was after 3 pm! Doh! I had to find lunch stat.

Good thing we had leftover Veggie Mediterranean pizza. Didn’t even bother to heat it up!

Then I was having a total chocolate craving. My dad brought this chocolate bar.

So I had a square…or two.

I had hoped to go out in the evening, since my parents were having a bunch of their friends over, but alas, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone to see if they were up for doing something, so I spent the evening in my pj’s doing pretty much nothing. And I didn’t even get around to eating dinner until almost 10 pm…what’s up with that?!

I made myself a little sandwich – turkey, ham, cheddar cheese, spinach on these little sourdough buns we found at the grocery store.

Then I dug into the appetizers that were in the kitchen

A wee little spinach quiche.

And my favourite – Tex-Mex dip with the best tortilla chips.

Oh, I definitely had seconds on that dip.

And guess what? There was dessert as well! I had a wee slice of this rum soaked pound cake with a touch of whipped cream, grapes, and cantaloupe.

I was glad the cake didn’t taste too rummy – not exactly my favourite flavour. But it was super moist.

I mostly hid out in my bedroom all evening, goofing around on the interweb. It’s true, I was a total hermit on a Saturday night. Oh well, sometimes that’s just how it goes, right? And even though I had plenty of time to post last night, I just didn’t feel the writing urge.

Okay, okay…want to see my fancy new boots?

Can I just say, the boot shopping experience was tough! I tried to get boots made in Canada, but the only decent pair I could find didn’t fit in the heel at all (I have a narrow heel compared to the rest of my foot). And then, trying to find boots that fit my giant size 10 feet without making them look like skis was a whole other issue. I tried on this super cute pair of moccasin style boots, but OMG – they made my feet look insanely huge. My mom and I joked I could go out snowshoeing in them without the snowshoes. LOL.

Now I can go to school without getting soaking wet feet, and still look somewhat stylish – since I’m such a fashionista and all.

The rain has stopped, so I think I’m going to head out for a walk. Later gators.

I have been working with Vanda North on her Mind Chi project – you will hear a lot more about this next year as there is significant media interest in the work that she and Richard Israel are doing.  https://mindchi.com/Mind_Chi_Home_Page.php  Without going into details about my own circumstances I have learnt to appreciate a powerful lesson.  Being a fairly action orientated person, when I have needed to change my state I have done something physical.  However, I have learnt that I can do this with thought alone. 

We have two mental Chi that chatter away in our heads, one mischievous Chi that will give us a hard time about all sorts of stuff and one good Chi.  The trouble is the mischievous Chi is more verbose, and extremely loud in comparison to the good Chi.  So based on a premise by Jack Black I have created my own virtual house where I can go to escape the bad Chi and hang out more with good Chi. 

So far I have six rooms in my house:  I enter my house through a fairy door.  It is green and is in my back garden half way up the back wall, situated among the climbing clematis and wisteria. 

The first room is the amphitheatre which is my quiet place.  Some people think this is an oxymoron – so let me explain.  I sit at the top of the pure white amphitheatre with a cobalt blue sky surround and all the odd thoughts that come and go through my head, still do.  I hear them but because I am so far away from the stage on which they are acting, I cannot engage and whilst the mischievous Chi still witters it can no longer engage with my conscience thought.

The second is the car lot.  Here I can park all the problematic thoughts that I can’t solve right now.  The parking lot allows me to leave any problem for a short time yet I know I can return to it later when the parking ticket has run out. 

The third and probably most important room is the spare bedroom.  This is where I can put to bed the problems I have no control over, but worry me none the less.  Like all problem children, there is a good chance they will challenge the curfew but it is easier to remain resolute when you have decided the curfew in the first place.  Then back to bed they go.

The fourth room is the play pen.  This is where I go when I can’t sleep at night.  It is an empyreal place where I can be as creative as I like.  At the moment I use it for the creative writing I don’t seem to get done during the day.

My fifth room is the only one I have lifted from Jack Black’s ideology.  This is because I cannot create anything that better resembles where I need to be.  This is the energiser room.  Sometimes I need to go here just to get myself started – especially if I have been procrastinating over an issue for too long a time.

And finally, my sixth and favourite room is the autumn room.  I love autumn.  It is my most favourite time of year.  Here I can look at the colours and feel warmth kissing my cheeks, my neck and my lips.  I can scuff the scruffy leaves on the floor; I can pick up conkers and peel horse chestnuts, kick over acorns and gaze at red berries galore.  This place brings a smile to my face.  I love it. I am really happy here.

Liam Gallagher will August nächsten Jahres ein neues Album rausbringen, allerdings ohne seinen Bruder.  Das hat der Britpopper in einem Interview mit MTV-Italia angekündigt. Die Band wird übrigens die gleiche wie bei Oasis sein, nur ohne Noel. Bereits nach Weihnachten soll es ins Studio gehen.

This morning during Oasis we saw a demonstration of serving “Well Done” by all those involved.  From greeting, to A/V, to the band, to the roadies, to the speaker (Mark Miller), to the congregation’s entering into the presence of the Lord – it was all “Well Done”!

Music has always been in my blood, although it’s not something of a family trait. I grew up in the 80’s so my musical taste was inspired by the Stock, Aiken and Waterman monopoly going on at that time. From there I went the predictable commercial route until I was around 18 and realised that music was music and the fact that I was a big N Sync fan didn’t mean I wasn’t cool enough to be able to listen to an Oasis album.

From there I pretty much listened to anything I could get my ears on; breaking out of the mainstream and the stereotypes of what a ‘pop’ fan is.

I say all this to point out how much of a music nut I was and to emphasize how bad it is that I didn’t hear about Christian music until I was around 22 and only then because I happened to have a friend who was already interested in it.

You may argue that Christian music is accessible to Christians as long as they are involved in a Church which embraces it so as long as you are involved in fellowship within the community you will know about the relevant music scene, but let’s look at the other side.

Can’t music be the connector to bring people into the Church, or can’t music we listen to in the car or on our mp3’s on the way to work have a more positive message to it and soothe us into worship in our daily lives, after all we are called to be Christian’s seven days a week and not just on one morning in the four walls of a church?

People often think, and I count myself in this, that Christian music is all about old bearded men with Jesus sandals or hippy women in long flowing skirts singing simple melodies over a ropy guitar backing that has now relevance to life outside of the Church. It simply isn’t true anymore. The opportunity to review on this site has really opened my eyes to the quality of Christian music these days and I love what the guys are doing here to promote it and treat it in the same way that secular music is treated.

Why shouldn’t Christian bands get the same kind of recognition that their secular peers would? Why does the fact that music has a message behind it make it unsuitable for the radio or for MTV? Isn’t it time that the secular music scene sits up and takes notice of Christian music that is just as good in terms of quality and performance?

Maybe Louder Than The Music is what the world needs to make them realise Christian music shouldn’t be written off. Maybe we need to be the change.

I’ve been having a thought recently on songs I love, that if they came out between ‘77 and ‘81 would be deemed as Punk Classics. To me they all have the right combination of noise and attitude and have carried the musical side of Punk into other genres.

I know that they will not be everyones choice of a Punk tune, and I am not saying that they are…just that they would have been if they had come out in 1977.

Väldigt många undrar hur det gick i de tidigare omröstningarna, så här kommer en kort redovisning. PopGiss-folket tycker att Abbey Road (31%) är The Beatles bästa album, tätt följt av LP’n The Beatles a.k.a. The White Album (24%) och Help! (14%) kniper en hedrande bronsmedalj.

I omröstningen om när Oasis borde lagt av så är det bara 8% som tycker att ett fjärde album hade nåt att tillföra historien… Hela 37% tycker att andra albumet (What’s The Story) Morning Glory skulle ha räckt. 22% anser att debuten Definitely Maybe var nog.

Daniel Sullivan pleaded guilty in attacking (then Oasis guitarist) Noel Gallagher on-stage in Toronto last year (watch the attack unfold, below). Hopefully he’ll have the book thrown at him, with the same force in which he pushed Noel. What a grand loser.

Noel got three broken ribs from the fall and Oasis had to cancel a bunch of gigs. Sullivan was “intoxicated” at the time and did not have much recollection of the incident. Scary. Sullivan went to attack Liam Gallagher next and was tackled quickly by security. And it took the police a while to calm Sullivan down backstage. Maybe he was on PCP instead.

Meanwhile, it took Noel Gallagher eight months to feel anywhere near back-to-normal. Broken ribs are quite painful. As we now know, Oasis’ breakup-to-come, however, was even more painful.
