The official Broken Blade site (AKA “Break Blade”) has posted up a trailer for the first segment of its upcoming OAV series, and while sadly you can’t watch it unless you’re in Asia, you can at least see the cast and story of the fantasy/mecha hybrid.

The story of Broken Blade takes place in a world where machines move by using the magic of the users – so, everyone is in some way a wizard. The main character, Rygart Arrow, is the exception. He can’t use magic, which makes him unable to operate the Golem war machines which are the backbone of the world’s armies. However, because his school buddies Hodr and Sigyn happen to be the king and queen of the Krishna kingdom, he gets mixed up in an invasion by the Athens Alliance – an invasion led by their old friend Zess!

When Rygart discovers an ancient war machine known as the Broken Blade that only he can pilot, he’s forced to make tough choices about where his loyalties lie in a war between his friends.

There will be six chapters of Broken Blade produced by XEBEC and Production IG, and the first one will be released early next year. The names behind this one are solid, so I’ll at least give it a cursory look. Another option is reading the translated manga from CMX beforehand, but I tend not to do that for upcoming anime – all too often, I end up reading the manga and ignoring the anime when I do that.

Konami’s Quiz Magic Academy is getting its second OAV next year. According to Anime News Network, the second DS game based on the popular game series is coming with an original anime episode, similar to the OAV that came out last year.

The first OAV for Quiz Magic Academy was pretty amusing, with a bunch of little comic vignettes loosely strung together by the cast of the arcade trivia game. The series has such a silly premise – a group of student wizards compete in trivia games to “level up” as sages – that any attempt at a story would feel tacked-on and stupid, so hopefully the new OAV is just as light-hearted and short as the last one.

This one was really hot but was lacking in a well formed plot, it still had a plot it just wasn’t a very in depth one… Okay so here was the plot the two main characters are big time lovers, they are having sex all the time. (What really makes these scenes hot is what they’re wearing). A little bit into the show you discover that his girlfriend is extremely sensitive but sexy! Well she sees him looking at the cover of a porno dvd, and get this she ISN’T angry, in fact she gets upset that she doesn’t say more during sex. So in hentai shows what could be smarter than going to your  worst enemy for help! AND surprise surprise her worst enemy actually helps her! Unfortunately all that is accomplished is an extremely steamy lesbian scene between the two of them, but hey who’s complaining! Eventually the arch rival gets so desperate she makes a love potion which ends up having some adverse effects. *SPOILERED* Haha no I ain’t gonna tell you what it does, if you want to know go to fakku.net they have both parts with english subs there, you can even download them! Well enough of consumer advertisements… Ya so this is with out a doubt one of the sexiest hentai’s out there, you DON’T want to skip this one, take my word! In the end this one gets a 8 out of 10.

Okay just throwing this out there the whole cat lady thing was EXTREMELY KINKY! I must say that this was not only a super sexy hentai to watch but it was also fairly amusing if your not just thinking SEX SEX SEX while you’re watching it. I found the plot to be okay, not great but just okay. I mean really the power of music… Ah well anime will be anime no matter how perverted it is at the time… Okay well the plot was that a boy returns back to his hometown to see how things are and discovers that it has succumb to many vices such as sex and gambling. He is obviously not pleased with it, even if he does end up committing those very same vices with a stripper and three other girls… Well anyways this being a happy and upbeat anime he eventually sort of fixes all. Personally this one made me laugh more than anything, especially when Ojo showed up. The whole floating blob thing amused me, but not only that but how he rocks out to music. If your in the mood for some really kinky hentai then this is definitely perfect! All in all I give it a 7 out of 10.

This is easily one of the hottest boob focused hentai’s I have ever seen, but it lacks in an actual easy to follow semi-realistic plot. So I’d say this is one that would probably be best only to watch when your horny. But it definitely delivers. I still am not one hundred percent sure as to what the plot is, but what it doesn’t have in plot it sure as hell makes up in sex. So this is 100% an awesome porno but not much else besides that… So I give it a 6 out of 10.

This is the very reason that I now watch hentai. In my personal opinion, this is one of the best hentai OAVs out there. Okay the story is about an android named Arisa (thus the name ofthe show). The story begins with the main male character eating dinner with his sister, and then boom out of the sky arisa the android comes crashing through their roof! After help from (who i believe to be his grandfather) he realizes that Arisa is in fact an android and upon him activating her, she becomes his. And so he employs her at his little cafe… thing.  BUT surprise surprise she sucks at working! And so really the story is about how that one random and lucky event would forever change their lives. I thought that the story plot was both engenious and intriging and the fact that it involves a bit of scifi helped as well. Although this is by no means a super serious plot and so the sex scenes often feel out of place and sometimes even awkward. That’s not to say there aren’t more than enough bonuses to keep it an excellent hentai, though do not expect ubber sex scenes either because there are only two in each volume for a grand total of four. But when it does have sex scenes they are very hot, and in the first volume there is even a yuri scene. There is also a censored version somewhere on the internet if you just want it for the story plot. So my personal rating is: 7 out of 10.

Last night, some bloggers and I had an intimate discussion with NBN-ZTE fame, son of Congressman Jose de Venecia of Pangasinan, Joey de Venecia III. I got to the “undisclosed location” a little late and caught them talking about COMELEC, the Automated Elections and his plans this upcoming elections.

To put it simply, Joey de Venecia III confirms, “I am running in 2010 as a Senator,” but dismisses party affiliation, “I do not know under which party yet.” He said that he’ll run under a good and qualified presidential candidate, and adds that, “there are a lot of qualified but not everyone is good.” “Merong isa, kaso nagbackdown na to VP.”

He says that as a Senatorial-candidate, he’ll focus on the LGU Code, focusing on the budget allocation and control of the specific local government units (since they would know the most how to prioritize expenses) and our Debt, which is automatically appropriated, and pegged at 30% of our budget, or more than Php 600 Billion for this year.

And if he’s elected, the first thing that he will do right after he takes his oath is to file cases against Gloria and Mike Arroyo.

Joey de Venecia III and bloggers

Last Friday, Lente (Legal Network for Truthful Elections) of the Ateneo de Manila Law School organized an informal roundtable discussion with election experts like Constitutional commissioner Fr. Joaquin Bernas, SJ, COMELEC commissioner Christian Monsod, and former Supreme Court Justice Ascuna, and others. My professor was lucky and important enough to be in that gathering.

Their discussion focused on three election reform agendas namely a.) Party list system b.) Overseas absentee voting and c.) COMELEC as an intitution.

On the Partylist system, the laws should clearly define what it means to be “marginalized” and “under-represented” sectors. Is it financial, cultural, or whatever? In this case, the fastest way in doing this is by amending RA 7941 or the Partylist System Act, or the Constitution itself. Also, COMELEC must be stricter in granting accreditation to partylists.

On Overseas Absentee Voting, which the deadline of registration has already passed, they saw that it is important to remove barriers for registration and voting. With the advent of internet and technology, one must be able to use the internet, or even by courier, to be able to register and or vote. Also, who can or cannot register under RA 9189 or the Overseas Absentee Voters Act should be clearly defined.

On COMELEC, they said that it would be better to have a “JBC-like body” to screen the possible appointees of the President to the Commission. But then again, you have to amend the Constitution regarding that. Also, they were playing with the idea that COMELEC will be burdened by just administering the elections, while election protests, or the adjudication should be given to the courts and treated as an ordinary case.

They also tackled on issues of automated elections, specifically cheating. Monsod, having worked inside COMELEC said that it is impossible to be hacked externally, the question now is that can it be hacked internally, within COMELEC?

Going back to JDVIII meeting, one thing’s for sure, they all wanted for the COMELEC to implement a national double-track elections, to be able to pilot test the PCOS machines of Smartmatic-TIM (which recently was given decision by the Supreme Court by junking petition) and have a more credible-acceptable way to be able to count votes (using paper).

The major challenge right now is for COMELEC to educate all voters on how to use the machine and what is really the process in which one can vote, and it to be counted.

The number of overseas absentee voting (OAV) registrants was unofficially released recently. As expected, there was a low turnout for the OAV registrations. The Department of Foreign Affairs said that overall it fell short of its goal to have 1 million registrants by the end of OAV registrations last 31 August. Reports from GMAnews.tv said that there are over 216,000 OAV registrants worldwide.

The Philippine Embassy in Canberra released the unofficial number of OAV registrants in Australia. Out of the estimated 9000 eligible Filipinos in Australia, around 7.47% were able to register for next year’s election. Vice Consul Alex Go explained that the 672 registrants does not include Filipinos in New South Wales (NSW), where the registration was handled by the Consul General Office in Sydney. Vice Consul Go said that in the mobile OAV registrations that they managed, Western Australia had the most registrants. Following are the number of registrants in major Australian cities:

Perth: 193
Queensland (Brisbane and Toowoomba): 143
Adelaide: 117
Melbourne: 78
Darwin: 71
Canberra: 70

Philippine media reports claimed that the “DFA has done everything, from talking to Filipino community leaders to aggressively promoting the registration in the media to increase the OAV figures, but new overseas voters seem elusive.” However, news of the OAV registrations here in Australia spread only by word of mouth in the community, there was no ‘aggressive’ promotion of the exercise.

This blogger initiated a signature drive for OAV registrations in the past few weeks prior to the deadline of OAV registrations. There were setbacks during the ‘personal’ campaign as one religious leader of a major Filipino sect explicitly expressed his rejection of the said initiative saying Philippine politics is ‘chaotic.’ The religious leader also claimed that “there is an “unofficial” directive from Manila that their expat members (or those based outside Manila) do not participate in the coming election.” One of the most instrumental supporters of the OAV registrations here in Perth are Manila Restaurant especially Mr. Gian Carlo Narciso who led the signature drive there securing almost every customer’s signature; and, the Filipino Australian Club of Perth, Inc. which hosted the OAV registrations.

Vice Consul Go estimates that election will start from April 10 here in Australia.
