“J’aurai voulu être, wait for it, un artiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiste!!!” mais j’me soigne… Pour moi, pendant très longtemps la photo en tant qu’expression artistique se résumait à d’obscurs cours du soir dans une salle rouge, où l’on utilisait des produits chimiques avec de grandes pinces à linge. Je me contentais de mon jetable, chacun chez soi et les moutons seront bien gardés.

Puis vint le numérique. Et là, tu te dis:”Whaou, trop facile la photo, moi aussi, je veux!”. Pas de problème, petit scarabée, car tu vas transformer tes photos les plus pourrites en photos d’Aaaaart, oui, oui.

• Photofunia ou rigole avec les tronches de tes potes et oublie pas de les tagguer

Le plus cheap des sites de modifs de photos, photofunia, où tu peux faire croire que ta photo a été diffusé sur les écrans de Times Square à New-York, ou que tu es habillée en courtisane.

C'est amusant, on dirait que j'étais un body-builder!

Dans le même genre, Dumpr n’a qu’un seul intérêt: le style Lomo, avec ses couleurs saturées.

Nostalgie, quand tu nous tiens! Poladroid est une application merveilleuse qui permet de transformer une photographie en image avec un rendu Polaroïd (bords blancs inclus!). La photo la plus nulle prend tout de suite des airs de “c’était l’bon temps”…

Be funky permet aux novices de se prendre pour des grands: effets magnifiques, rapidité et surtout ultra simplicité! De plus, il est possible d’envoyer ses photos depuis son ordinateur ou sa webcam ou directement depuis internet et les réseaux sociaux (Flickr, MySpace, FaceBook …).

I was surfing the interwebs, and came across a bunch of custom ‘Hope’ pictures of Barack Obama.  Naturally, I was intrigued.  I found the website – Obamicon.me, and tried out a few things.  My first few attempts were terrible.  It really pays to take their advice and use a picture with either a transparent or plain white background.  Otherwise, everything looks kind of deformed, and I didn’t want that.

The top portion of this picture will be my new Gravatar, and should appear when I comment on most sites.  Definitely on WordPress sites, I am not sure if I have to go in and manually change my Blogger profile to use this picture.  Tests will be forthcoming.

Obama!

Since November, the excellent FP Passport has followed the global growth of “hopejacking,” or the “use of exaggerated or completely invented associations with president-elect Barack Obama.” But there’s no need to be president of France to hop on the hope-mobile–there’s a fair bit of hopejacking going on on our own campus. At least three of this year’s candidates are aping the Obama aesthetic:

Senate frontrunner Eduardo Atjian II does the best job preserving the clean, bold look of Shepard Fairey’s poster, but the chilly one-eyed stare and face shrouded in darkness give the image an ominous edge. It’s less “looking off into the future,” more “peering from the telescreen,” but then again, maybe that’s to be expected.

Although Jason Bral’s choice of the Obamicon image generator means he’s got the color scheme down pat, the hopeful gaze remains elusive. “The future” seems to be somewhere between straight-on and twenty degrees to the right.

Nick Jones’s poster may be the least derivative, but the coloration and ruminative stare marks it as another Obama homage. He comes closest to looking off into the future–but it sure doesn’t look like he’s seeing the happy days of Obama’s America. Instead, he seems to scry our untamed post-Stimupocalypse Mad Max existence, a time when we will wrap ourselves in scarves and woolen sweaters to stave away the bitter cold of the collapse of capitalism and once again don our old-timey hats. Come to think of it, I’ve seen a similar look of concern somewhere before.

Candidates: don’t let these three have all the fun! First one to commission a nude unicorn equestrian portrait wins my vote.

Ui, ui, ui, der Hype um den – zweifelsohne sehr sympathisch wirkenden – neuen US-Präsidenten nimmt kein Ende, sondern immer groteskere Züge an: Nachdem er bereits als der “neue Messias” gefeiert wurde [ohne Worte...] und Ikonen-Status erlangte, nimmt er seit einiger Zeit auch vermehrt Einzug in die Popkultur und die Wirren des www. Der neueste Coup ist die Website Obamaicon.Me, auf der man – yes, we can! – schwuppdiwupp zum Obama-Wahlplakat werden kann. Eure nadsab konnte nicht widerstehen und hat das auch mal ausprobiert – dabei kam u.a. das hier heraus:

Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt: Der Name Nadja (von russ. Nadeshda) bedeutet übrigens tatsächlich Hoffnung bzw. die Hoffnungbringende.
