Lembro-me que na 8ª o professor de matemática me mostrou pela primeira vez como era uma prova de olimpíada de matemática (no caso da OPM). Achei muito interessante, nunca havia sequer considerado a possibilidade de que algo assim existisse, algo tão ideal para minha natureza arrogante e competitiva.

Não é difícil de imaginar o que se seguiu:

Prestei a OPM do mesmo ano, fui, milagrosamenta para a fase final e NADA.

No primeiro ano colegial fiz a OBM e NADA!

Segundo ano colegial OBM, NADA!

Olimpíada de astronomia, muito simpática e tals, NADA! (nessa deu até vergonha).

OAH, NADA (mas devo dizer que essa estava ridícula de tão fácil, merd* de pascal falsificado)

Sei que sou retartado em todos os sentidos da palavra, por isso vou inaugurar agora a secção de provas/desafios matemáticos.

NÃO vou ficar satisfeito enquanto não conquistar uma medalha em qualquer que seja a olimpíada.

Embora meu ego tenha sido ferido de tal modo e eu queira fazer algo a respeito,  sou realista: estou no final do 2 ano colegial, tenho apenas mais 1 ano (tá 2, mas não sei se no ultimo pode ;x) e não tenho disciplina suficiente para obter as competências exigidas (i.e sou burro), mesmo assim vamos ver no que vai dar!

OPM, OBI e , quem sabe, OBM, me aguardem ! /mau

Mario Barth hat recht! In seinem neuen Bühnenprogramm prangert er zu recht die Auswirkungen von unkontrolliertem Konsum von Bausendungen im Fernsehen. Das ist vor allen sehr gefährlich für Frauen, die dann zu recht bzw. zu unrecht denken, eine Komplettrenovierung der Wohnung dauert 90 Minuten mit maximal 2 Werbeunterbrechungen für eine Zigarettenpause oder nen Kaffee mit Milchschnitte. Er verteufelte Tine Wittler als Gefahr für die Bauwut und Renovierungsplanung der Frauen. Am eigenen Leib habe ich erlebt, was Mario meint mit Farbauswahl. In deutschen Baumärkten, also egal ob Toom, Bauhaus, OBI oder Hornbach gibt es keine normale Farbezeichnungen mehr.  Am letzten Samstag war ich im Bauhaus Mannheim und durfte mit meinem Schatzi Farbe für unser Schlafzimmer aussuchen. Und tatsächlich, die Farbe braun gab es nicht. Es gab nur Caramel, Cappochino, Olive, Maragoni oder vielleicht noch Creme. Die simple Farbe hellbraun oder braun gab es nicht. Na also wie bei Mario Barth, er nannte es lustig: kackbraun gibt es nicht mehr. Die Fahrt nach Frankental und Oggersheim zum nächsten Baumarkt, dem OBI Baumarkt ergab das gleiche Problem. Kackbraun gibt es nicht mehr , quasi ausgestorben, dafür alles in Kaffeeschattierungen und alle Farben von irgendwelchen Olivenbäumen. Jetzt wurde mir klar, wo ich Mario Barth in Berlin Kreuzberg treffen könnte. Ich lege mich im den dortigen Baumärkten auf die Lauer und recherchiere vorab die nächsten Programmpunkte auf seiner Deutschlandtour im nächsten Jahr. Also ab nach Berlin.

Au niveau du tissage, on note 2 tendances, qui semblent assez « mondiales »:

D’aussi loin que je me souvienne, ma mère ayant tissé aussi (une de mes soeur le fait encore), il y a toujours des tisserans-artistes qui font des espèces d’horreurs informelles, comme si une baleine avait gerbé 25 kilos de varech avalés par mégarde un jour de cuite (les baleines mangent du plancton, bande de cons, faut savoir ça !).

Comme cette horreur qui pendait du milieu du plafond.

D’un autre côté, il y a des gens qui se cassent vraiment le melon pendant des heures à faire des choses de bon gôut. J’estime que ce serait malhonnête de vous faire croire que je ne sais pas ce que c’est, vu le nombre de personnes tissants ou ayant tissé professionnellement dans la famille. Vous ne seriez pas d’accord que ce serait pareil : vous verrez ici ce que j’ai aimé.

La spécificité japonaise, c’est le Kimono. Ça vaut autant pour le tissage que pour la teinture, dont celle des ceintures (les Obi) que les 3ème années ont crées, franchement réussies.

Yukari dit que c’est la meilleure section de l’unif’ et je veux bien la croire.

Pas grand chose à jeter de par ici ; certains motifs manquent de puissance ou d’originalité mais c’est jamais répugnant comme la peinture, par exemple. Au pire, les faiblards ressembleront à des rideaux japonais (dans un pays sans volet mais éclairé 24h/24, c’est primordial), les moyens à de la couette Ikea en promotion.
Mais peut-être que mon amour des tissus m’aveugle…

Les techniques, supports et formats sont différents en fonction des années.

Yukari à travaillé sur un motif d’agrumes, avec des couleurs que j’aime beaucoup. Apparemment, l’université de Finlande où elle part en janvier pour échange après avoir obtenu une bourse spéciale à pensé la même chose. Bien, bravo ! Et merci pour la visite.

Au final, une bonne experience, malgré toute la hargne que je peux employer à décrier toute les horreurs que j’ai vu ; Ce que j’ai aimé vraiment (une peinture assez sombre, quelques affiches et graphismes, un vase informe, une ou deux robes, des tissus) peut représenter peu, mais c’est déjà pas mal pour moi (enfin, par rapport à Baptiste je reste encore bon public…peut-être qu’il aurait exigé que l’école soit rasée…Espèce de nazi-graphique, va! ).

Heute erst mal ausgeschlafen und dann auf den Pfostenberg gefahren (mit Roller) meinen Arbeitsteil abgeleistet. Holz getragen, SChuppen ausgeräumt und dann als ich um 11.30 nach Hause gehe um zu Essen und um zum Skibassar zu gehen, kommen Lasse und Emre. Auf dem Skibassar habe ich mir ein Board und Stiefel gekauft. Dort hab’ ich auch Joni getroffen, mit dem ich jetzt gerade auf der Couch liege und Spiderman schaue (auf Pro 7). Nach dem Skibassar bin ich wieder auf den Pfostenberg gefahren und habe nochmal eine halbe Stunde geholfen. Dann gab’s Pizza und C Jugend hat in der letzten Minute 0:1 verloren. Dann wieder nach Hause und dann zu Joni. Bei dem Tomb Raider Legend gezockt und zum Aldi gefahren und mir ne Aldi Talk Karte gekauft. Dann um 7 zu mir und Cobra 11 Burning Wheels gegeneinander gezockt.. Pro Gamer am Werk DDD.

Jetzt mal schauen was so auf RTL (Supertalent) geht. Let it Rock!

Birthday boy Obi

I went to a shop that carries antique kimonos today. It is run by the second daughter of a major figure in the antique fabrics world in Japan. The first daughter runs a shop in Tokyo while the third daughter is still learning the trade. The mother and father of the three run a shop in front of the oldest wooden building in the world, Horyuji temple. The shop I visited is directly in front of the train station in Horyuji.

The first thing I noticed was the beauty of the shop. It was just redone a couple of months ago. There was incense burning and the overall effect was of a very well-run, nicely decorated small shop. I would guess it is about ten tatami mats in all, roughly 15 square meters.

The selection was really nice. Limited but very nice. There were  maybe 40-50 pieces total in the shop, kimonos, obis, purses, etc. Very old pieces to post war but probably nothing newer than 1955 or so. A lot of antique fabric swatches, enough to make any lover of fabric drool.

The next thing I noticed was the prices. I sell antique kimono and obi on my Etsy site. I do it mainly because I like kimono and obi, less to make a profit. I saw today I am selling for less than 1/4 market price. If you look at my site you will see some great deals. I don’t think I will raise my prices but I was surprised to see how much things cost in the real world.

Liza Dalby é uma antropóloga americana, mais famosa pelo livro Gueixa. Dalby viveu no Japão quando criança e desenvolveu uma paixão pelo país. Depois de formada, viveu como gueixa durante um ano como parte da pesquisa que geraria sua tese, The Institution of the Geisha in Modern Japanese Society, e, posteriormente, o livro citado.

A convivência com as gueixas fez com que ela se interessasse por outro símbolo nipônico: o kimono. Neste livro, a antropóloga aborda todos os aspectos do vestuário japonês típico, desde sua história até o simbolismo dentro da cultura do Japão.

Sou suspeita, porque sou fã da Dalby, mas considero o livro essencial pra quem gosta de kimono e quer entendê-lo. Aliás, recomendo a leitura dos dois livros, pois são complementares.

I received an email the other day from a customer, with a wonderful photograph attached. The customer, Deborah, had very recently got married and had worn a kimono and obi, bought from my site, as her wedding dress. Deborah looked absolutely beautiful; graceful, elegant, ceremonial, striking and so very happy. Below you can see the photo from their wedding.

The groom’s red tie was well chosen to link with with the red in Debora’s ensemble. I am most grateful to her for sending me the photo and for them allowing me to show it here.

In her email, Deborah said, ‘I thought I had set myself quite a challenge when I wanted to get married in a kimono and we were planning the wedding within 2 months. Without your website it definitely would not have been possible. You had such a lovely selection of authentic kimonos it was difficult to choose… My husband was really impressed. He loved the kimono instead of the traditional bridal gown, it really added the joyous atmosphere to the day and a great talking point. I’m sure I will be buying more from you in the future, happily browsing until then.’

I was so very pleased to have been sent the photo and to know that one of my kimonos had been put to such fabulous use, as wedding attire. I am rather sentimental about each of my kimonos. I love to get photos of people wearing them, whether the traditional Japanese way or simply as robes. I have a few photos of people, both male and female, wearing haoris they bought from me but what could be better than to see a kimono worn by a bride?

This is a milestone for me. You will however notice that they were both posted in the same day…so if i get to three on different days then things are looking up!

So my current phase? Kimonos. Yup, my friend called me eccentric when I told her I had bought one. But come on! They are beautiful! The materials that they can be made out of are amazing -some of them are printed or painted silk, or woven cotton and some of them have the loudest prints you have ever seen yet they still look really nice.

So the kimono (from what I’ve read so far…which isn’t much. The pictures are distracting), were introduced to Japan from China, and from there evolved into the kimono we know today. There are different kinds worn to signify your age and marital status, with unmarried woman having the longest sleeves and married older women the shortest. The colours of your kimono and obi would also depend on your age, and the way you would wear it dependent on your marital status. From the pattern I’ve seen so far – the more modest the more married you are.

As said earlier – when I get addicted to something, I really look into it. Sometime even so far as to buy something. Or two somethings. Why do people have to go to Japan and buy reasonably priced kimono and then sell them at also reasonable prices when they get back to NZ? I bought a pretty modestly printed kimono and a brown silk kimono coat from Trademe and now I’m waiting for them to arrive. The kimono doesn’t come with an obi, and I can’t seem to find them in NZ so  I think I will make one from satin or something. And then post really embarrassing photos of myself trying to put the thing on. Thank god for YouTube, that place is a gold mine of how to videos. It’s also how I managed to solve my Rubik’s cube, but we will have to save that one for later.

I’m also really tempted to make one. Well a yukata which is a cotton summer kimono, which means that I will have to find a pattern, or nut one out myself. If I do there will also be pictures of me also embarrassing myself whilst using a sewing machine.

So, since  I don’t any more interesting stuff about kimonos I’ll leave ya’s to it.

Es ist ein seltsames Gefühl, als wir nach rund zwei Wochen Aquariumsbetrieb die ersten Fische einsetzen wollten. Die ganze Familie brach auch zum Zoofachgeschäft OBI und suchte sich Fische aus. Doch bevor der Verkäufer mit seinen Käscher nach unseren neuen Fischen fischte, stand erst einmal die Wasserprobe auf dem Programm.

Wir mussten erst eine Wasserprobe abliefern, um festzustellen, ob unser Wasser fischtauglich war oder nicht. Irgendwie eine Art Test und ich war nervös. Würden wir es schaffen? Sind wir dafür geeignet, Fische zu führen? Der Verkäufer entnahm mit einer Pipette die Wasserproben und mischte sie mit den entsprechenden Mittelchen. Die chemische Reaktion setzte ein und die Farbe gab an, wie sauer, wie alkalisch, wie viel Nitrat und Nitrit im Wasser vorhanden ist. Nach einigen Minuten stand fest: Wir können Fische in  unser kleines Biotop einsetzen.

Es mag lästig erscheinen, erst diesen Test zu machen. Aber wer darüber nachdenkt, weiß, wie wichtig die Qualität des Wassers ist. Die Tiere sollen sich wohlfühlen und nicht verenden. Haustiere zu haben, bedeutet nicht nur Spaß, sondern auch eine Verantwortung.

Vasárnap délután beugrottunk az egyik nyíregyházi “barkácsáruházba” (valójában több, mint barkács), hogy új zuhanyrózsát vegyünk. Siettünk, de két dolgot megörökítettem.

Az egyik már régóta szemet szúrt, mint gondolom másoknak is. A bejáratnál egy friss vízzel és eledellel teli tál és egy pofás kutyaház fogadja a vásárlókat. Ha kutyával érkezik a vevő, akkor otthagyhatja kedvencét, aki közben iszogathat, eszegethet vagy kipihenheti fáradalmait a 26000 forintos házikóban.

A másik dologra most először figyeltem fel. A virágok és szobanövények részlegénél a trópusi rovaremésztő növények közé tartozó kancsókákba botlottam. Szemmel láthatóan nem érezték jól magukat az áruház klímájában, mert sokuknak száradóban voltak már a kancsói.

There are as many kimono motifs as there are things in the world. I have seen everything on kimono from Godzilla to chili peppers, from tanks and bomber planes to ancient Greek gods. While there are many, many fascinating and fun kimono motifs, there are also some which are very traditional and steeped in Japanese culture; and can be just as fun as the more modern motifs. This article will discuss several of my favorite traditional motifs, what they mean, and some of the history behind them.

This is an example of one traditional motif, the bobbin motif.

As always, let’s start with the basics.   What is a motif?  Well, a motif is a recurring theme, element or pattern, or an overall theme.  Basically, in the case of kimono, a motif is what is on the kimono.

There are several very famous Japanese motifs which, throughout the world, have become synonymous with kimono.  Some of these include sakura*, dragons, goldfish and cranes.  While these motifs are lovely, many motifs lesser known in the western world  can be found on exquisitely beautiful kimono and other wafuku (Japanese clothing).

One of my favorite motifs is the takara motif.  Takara are treasures, usually traditional Japanese treasures from folklore.  Takara are very popular on kimono, especially in collections of seven (called shichihou).  The treasures include fabulous items such as hagoromo, magatama, gin, kin, sango, and tsuchi.  Some of the treasures are natural ones: gin is Japanese for  “silver”, and kin is “gold.”  Some of the treasures, such as the magatama, hold religious or historical importance. The magatama is a bead which was popular in with the noble class in ancient Japan and was often found interred with the dead in tombs and burial mounds.

Here’s a few takara.  Among the flowers we see kasa and hagoromo.

The stories behind other takara are old tales which have been told for centuries.  For example, the hagoromo is the feathered cloak of a tennin (similar to an angel).  The hagoromo is stolen by a fisherman while the tennin bathes in the water.  Because the tennin cannot go back to heaven without her cloak, the fisherman agrees to return the hagoromo to the tennin if she dances for him.  What is most interesting about this tale is the parallels it holds with the western “Swan Maiden” archetype tales.  The history behind the takara is fascinating, and well worth researching for anyone who likes a good story.

Items bearing a takara motif often have intricate, detailed imagery on them.  One of the fun things about takara motifs is finding and identifying which items are depicted on the piece.

Another great motif is the tabane noshi motif.  I usually like motifs with a lot of detail, and this motif almost always indicates highly detailed work.  Back in the day in Japan, gifts were sometimes presented with tabane noshi attached to them.  Tabane noshi literally means bound noshi, noshi referring to dried strips of abalone, although now strips of paper are also used.  Dried abalone is full of nutrients, and it was an important food, often used as a ritual offering to the gods.  Therefore, tabane noshi has become an auspicious motif and is often found on formal items.

The chayatsuji motif (country house with flowers and streams) is a great, often overlooked theme.  I love this theme for its tranquility.　　The motif has a very nostalgic feel to it as well, depicting traditional Japanese architecture which is dying in these modern times.  Because this is the case, items with a chayatsuji motif often have a magical, almost fairytale-like quality to them, giving the viewer a feeling that they are observing a scene frozen in time.  Anyone else suddenly feel like watching Brigadoon?

*A brief digression concerning sakura, or Japanese cherry blossoms.  Sakura are quite famous worldwide, and, along with the chrysanthemum are considered by many to be the unofficial national flower of Japan.  The beauty of the sakura cannot be denied, and it is not unheard of, or even uncommon, to see kimono with sakura motifs.  That being said, there are a great many kimono enthusiasts who prefer not to own kimono or obi with sakura motifs.  The main reason behind this is the brevity of the cherry blossom’s blooming season, which provides only a short window of time in which an item bearing sakura can be worn.  Some people see this as a waste of the resources it takes to make and wear a kimono.

Produselor care au preturi extrem de avantajoase, OBI le mai aplica in acest caz si o reducere de 10% disponibila pe parcursul unui an intreg.
