This “All Inclusive” deal was a first for both Eric and I but I would be lying if I said it’s not easy to get used to! This post is all about food and drinks a favorite topic for so many of us!

my personal favorite was the Coffee…..I have craved it since the morning after we left I’m told it’s 100% Blue Mountain Coffee.

A little embarrassing… concocted this at the buffet! It’s balanced….well the Coke is “light”

There are some foods more native to Jamaica but for the less adventurous you can certainly find all of your american favorites too!

They do provide glassware for your drinks, this is seconds before Eric shot liquor in his eye~not recommended

Eric take advantage of the bar getting stocked daily?? If you know him he is mister Frugal (to put it nicely)

Chicken Parmesan….no worries those aren’t antennas! Every plate was a piece of artwork!

Red Stripe is the “Jamaican Style Lager” We both agreed we liked it better than our usual Bud Light or Select

The Jewel Dunns River Resort Candid

Before traveling I love seeing candid photos of the resorts people stayed at to get an authentic idea of what we can expect! The resort we chose for our 10 day “Weddingmoon” was The Jewel Dunn’s River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. If I am not mistaken I think there are now two Jewel Resorts that were both formerly Sandals I also believe one is adults only and the other is family friendly. These pictures were taken by us but I including a few descriptions off of their website all of which are true to our experience!

For a real treat indulge yourself with the personalized service in the Diamond Concierge guestrooms. These spacious rooms offer views of the sparkling Caribbean Sea from a completely private balcony. A dramatic 4-poster king bed with elegant Colonial decor and whirlpool bath welcome guests. The mini-bar is stocked and replenished with water, beer, wine and liquor, with mixers and coffee/tea service. 24-hour room service, plush his and hers robes are just a few more touches. A concierge (available 7 am-10 pm) will assist in special seating for dinners, shopping advice and how best to see Jamaica. Special turndown service available nightly.

Each night there are different events or activities, this night was a beach party with a beautiful buffet on the beach I just thought this was such a neat arrangement made from fruit.Every detail was stunning.

When reading reviews there were complaints about the beach being small, I can see where that may be an issue if you go at a more crowded time. We went july 18th for a 10 day span and had no issues of the beach feeling small or crowded there was always a cabana free and plenty of lounges!

What seemed to be a pattern with reviews is the love for the staff at the Jewel, Never did I think that meant lifelong friendships and memories, This is Treshanna who makes brick oven pizzas at Court Jesters Fire oven pizza. She is not only one of the kindest people I have ever met but also most talented with a voice that is indescribable. She sang us a beautiful song after we got married. We are so fortunate to have it recorded and also as a permanent memory in our hearts!

There was something about the fruit! Best I have ever tasted. Especially the white pineapples! We ate it like we had some sort of fruit deficiency lol

Funny watching adults play on this chess board….yes all the pieces move, check mate!

There are two pools outside this one is known as the quiet pool, it includes a swim up bar and a hot tub, this is where most of our time was spent.

View from the Coral Cafe which is a buffet style cafe open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, it is covered but open to the views!

The Resort has breathtaking scenery, some of the trees and flowers looked fake….they weren’t….you learn that when coconuts fall!

Hair accessories have fallen everywhere if you look closely and you can see my husbands reflection….camera in one hand and a drink in the other lol

The Dive in movie was one of my favorite things!

After the sun sets over the Jamaican beach, this full-service bar is illuminated by twinkle lights that spill outside to the magnificent almond trees. Set your evening in motion at our Emerald Tree Lounge bar and find yourself here again after dinner.
Dress code: Bare feet and bathing suits are welcomed!…..once again the staff was so much FUN!~

Entertainment was amazing! Every night something new!

There is so much to see and do around this resort that these pictures really only skim the surface! I think most people would agree that the staff is what really makes this place shine!

The Trip That changed Everything!

Saying our I Do’s barefoot in the sand of Ocho Rios Jamaica only touches on what this trip meant to my now husband and I. Our “Weddingmoon” symbolized our Commitment and Unity to one another, marked both of our first trips out of the Country and was the emotion grasping opening page of our new life chapter together as husband and wife!

I fell in Love with every detail of Jamaica and wish I could relive that trip over and over again. We were even fortunate enough to check a few things off of our bucket list like swimming with “Arby” the dolphin!

Another few firsts for me were holding starfish, a snake, and petting lizards BIG and small!
