After 11 hours of sleep I did the washing up and wrote my shopping list. Recharged metro card. Went to Auchan centre commercial, but merde, it was shut. I’d met Michael on the metro who said he was going to Cité d’Espace so I did that instead. Unfortunately the 37 wasn’t running, well not from Joliment anyway. Wandered around and found the 22 which eventually took us there. Really interesting. 3 x films but we didn’t view the expositions. Kim also. Home for pasta, and who knows what next.

Taking another step in its review of equity market structure issues, on November 13, 2009, the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) released a proposal to increase the transparency of “dark pools” of liquidity (Exchange Act Release No. 60997 (November 13, 2009)).

The term “dark pools” refers to non-exchange alternative trading systems (“ATSs”) that do not display bids or offers in the public quote stream. The SEC’s proposal to increase the transparency of dark pools is a part of its broader market structure review, including its previously announced proposal to eliminate flash orders and an anticipated concept release regarding, among other things, all forms of dark liquidity, the order flow arrangements of over-the-counter (“OTC”) market makers and undisplayed orders on exchanges…(continue reading)

• Imaging rates provide more comprehensive assessment of margin status. • Real-time, high-resolution

• Imaging rates provide more comprehensive assessment of margin status.
• Real-time, high-resolution OCT may reduce re-operation rates.

PHILADELPHIA – Intraoperative optical coherence tomography (OCT) rapidly images larger breast tumor margin areas, dramatically improving the microscopic sampling rate or analysis of the margin.

“Intraoperative OCT has the potential to provide diagnostically useful information about margin status in real time, at the point of care, rather than relying on postoperative histopathology,” said Stephen Boppart, M.D., Ph.D., professor of electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering and medicine, Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Results of this study will appear in an article and on the cover of the Nov. 15 issue of Cancer Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

OCT is a high-resolution imaging technique that offers optical biopsies of tissue, therefore yielding images that approach the resolution of histopathology.

Boppart and colleagues demonstrated the feasibility of using this technology for evaluating surgical margins during breast-conserving lumpectomy procedures. The aim was to first establish image-based features that could be used to determine negative or positive margins, and then demonstrate how well intraoperative OCT compares to histopathological findings of the tissue.

Thirty-seven patients were divided into two groups – 17 in a training set and 20 in a study set. Of the lumpectomy specimens in the study set, 11 had a positive or close surgical margin; nine had a negative margin under OCT.

In the study set, intraoperative OCT had 100 percent sensitivity and 82 percent specificity for determining margin status using postoperative histopathology as the gold standard, according to Boppart. OCT, with imaging resolution around 10 microns and depth-of-imaging up to 2 mm into the tissue, identified cell and tissue features to differentiate negative margins from positive margins.

“The imaging depth was equivalent to the tissue depth that pathologists typically examine postoperatively to determine if the margin is negative, close or positive,” he said. “Image features could also be used to identify structures such as surface blood or cauterized tissue and distinguish these image artifacts from normal and tumor tissue.”

Follow-up studies are ongoing in an effort to develop computer-aided detection algorithms that would automatically identify suspicious areas within images, according to Boppart. New computed imaging techniques are also being developed to improve the imaging resolution over larger volumes of tissue, which should further improve the ability to distinguish tumor cells.

“OCT is a very promising technology with many advantages for real-time optical biopsies of tissue. We hope that this technology and methodology will shift the microscopic assessment of tissue from postoperative assessment in the pathology lab, which offers limited sampling of the margin, to real-time, point-of-care assessment in the operating room, with improved comprehensive sampling of the surgical margin,” Boppart said.

He believes this will ultimately result in fewer repeat surgeries and long-term, potentially lower local recurrence rates.

For the past year, I have had strange encounters with a lot of random women that I happen to meet at the clubs, bars, and restaurants that I like to frequent in Los Angeles and San Diego.

I always go places by myself, or sometimes with my buddy’s, just to make it easier to mingle and meet new people in general. I avoid as much as possible, being in a highly social atmosphere on a date, because my experience with that has just meant that I will not enjoy myself, and I often sacrifice my good time so that my date will not get all upset by my mingling, because in her mind she is my girlfriend.

I have even been on first dates with women that I hardly know, and she has gone out of her way to make me feel all uncomfortable by introducing me as a future prospect, because that is the last thing that is on my mind.

I am not your future husband, I just want to have a drink with you and go from there…

I never get a Halle Berry type trying to play me like that, and if I did,I probably would not mind, but she would have to be Halle Berry, and then I would be very clear with her about where I am coming from.

Halle, by the way, is just a couple of years younger than me, so I am not limiting myself to just the younger women, but, I have found that younger women do not have that ”marry me” or ”you are husband material” type of motivation when they hang out with me.

I hate it when someone has an ulterior motive concerning me, when it comes to developing a relationship with me, and I frankly do not want to have anything to do with some desperate females master plan.

I simply want to have some fun, relax, and have some good times. My clock is not ticking, and I love my freedom.

The last thing men need is another commitment they must make, instead of one that I want to make.

Some women are way too extreme with this whole dating issue, and when you through God, rules, age, and Christianity into the mix….it is that much more worst.

If you see me,and like me, God has not sent me to you.We just happened to be in the same place at the same time.

You are probably at some bar, or a club, frequented by young women that do not have an agenda to find their next husband there, rather we are all just trying to have fun.

Definetly not a church type of situation, and it is not illegal.

I now that any women that ask me about my marital status, is not the woman for me. If I was married, I would not be at a club or bar by myself, and I would be wearing a wedding ring, just like all the other married people.

So the question is disrespectful. What do you think I am doing there, if I was to say I was married.

In fact, do not even mention the word. Just kick back, lighten up, and prepare to have some fun, or move on to the next guy.

Chalk it all up to what I call an awkward conversation.

In discussing this with my confidasnte….Eddie Holly, who is an expert in this topic, he had some personal reflections for me, and suggested that I only speak to the women that I want to marry, which means to me like I am not going to be meeting a lot of women, and/or just dealing with the ones that want to have some fun in in-between,”Hi, how are you doing”….and ”when you going to ask me to marry you”…

Folks need to stop listening to Oprah and Steve Harvey, and check out this article on this subject by Stuart McDonald, that I found on-line.

It is called ”Five Reasons I Hate Dating Christians”.

http://elev8.com/daily-offerings/relationships-daily-offering/five-reasons-i-hate-dating-christians/

Here is an excerpt from it…

1. Everything is about marriage. You can’t express any kind of interest in anyone without people immediately jumping to the “they’re going to get married” conclusion. Can we just take it one step at a time? I asked her if she’d like to have coffee, not if she wants to spend the rest of her life with me — I don’t even know her like that.

I know hate is a strong word here, but he means more like ”don’t like” in the context that it is used.

It reveals to women why some of these issues act like a repellant to single men of any age. We are not the problem, I am fine, and extremely happy, some of your hidden agendas are.

In closing, I just want to thank all the cool women in my life that do not hassle me about this innocuous stuff, but just want to get to know a brother, no strings attached. Mara,Mimi,Helen, etc. etc. I miss my friend Cerrissa, and as a friend she is mad cool.I will hopefully celebrate at her wedding.

Life is too much a hassle already, and I can not imagine making it even more of a drag, by hooking up with someone who just wants to end my freedom.

It does not add up.

http://elev8.com/daily-offerings/relationships-daily-offering/five-reasons-i-hate-dating-christians/

It’s that time of year again when people dress up as silly or scary as they wanna be. It

It’s that time of year again when people dress up as silly or scary as they wanna be.

It’s of course, Halloween time. We all delight in our memories of being a child with a pillowcase stuffed full of goodies we’d collect from our neighbors. What’s even more fun is passing by that most scary of houses to get to the treats.

In honor of the fun of Halloween, here are some tips to share and to keep in mind as you prepare to enjoy the festivities.

Be Costume Appropriate: Whatever type of Halloween or costume party you are going to attend, be sure your costume is appropriate. This means, don’t be the one wearing the stripper boob pasties and thong to a party where the theme is for you to dress up as your retro cartoon characters. Don’t wear inappropriate costumes where children are attending, as well. If there are going to be kids at the party, leave the slut, hooker, hoes, pimps or any overtly sexual or scary (per the age group) costumes at home.

Scary Behavior: Halloween Is No Reason To Act Like A Jackass- If you are attending an all-adult party, there’s still no reason to behave in an annoying and obnoxious manner. Groping butts and boobs of anyone, even the scantily clad, is a no-no. Being drunk and falling all over people is just trashy. Starting fights over anything are good enough grounds to just haul your hiney out of the party. Even if you are dressed like a Halloween goof, have some class about your self.

Scary Behavior: Being TOO Scary- Yes, dressing up as scary Halloween characters can be done in good fun, but some people can take method acting as their favorite horor film character a little too seriously. Don’t have a costume and behavior that is so scary that people are actually frightened. I mean, seriously scared for their lives. That’s not funny and it would give a whole new meaning to the phrase, “scared to death.”

Fresh Candy: Lets say you forego all the festivities for a nice Oct. 31 evening passing out candy to all the young princesses and firemen that stop by your house for a treat. Don’t give them the candy that has hardened into petrified sugar. Give fresh candy or give nothing. It’s bad enough that kids are going to endure more time in the dentist chair getting their cavities filled from the candy, they don’t need cracked teeth on your old, hard junk, too.

Trick Or Chase: Put the dogs and pets away when the little ones come by your house to get their candy loot. Also, don’t have someone dressed up that’s going to chace children down the street or down any stairs. If you are having a haunted set-up in your back yard. Make it a safe one. Can you say, “My kid was chased by your (pet or family member) and fell, hurting themselves on your property. So, I’m suing you”, five times fast?

Here’s a clip from one of my favorite scary movies.

Happy Halloween!

Some Professor at Harvard has come up with a broad-based study to help one analyze if he or she has hidden racist tendencies. The name of the study is ”Project Implicit”.

The following description is from the Project Implicit website…

Project Implicit blends basic research and educational outreach in a virtual laboratory at which visitors can examine their own hidden biases. Project Implicit is the product of research by three scientists whose work produced a new approach to understanding of attitudes, biases, and stereotypes.

The Project Implicit site has been functioning as a hands-on science museum exhibit, allowing web visitors to experience the manner in which human minds display the effects of stereotypic and prejudicial associations acquired from their sociocultural environment…

The study has been endorsed by Oprah Winfrey in an effort to help publicize the project, so more people will take it, and the Professor will have a larger percentage of the population to measure their findings and results.

My opening is a joke, because I think we should all participate, simply for the advancement of mankind, and for educational purposes, but, on a personal level, for it to be relevant to one’s own evaluation of you self, I feel they should study…”Why do I hide the fact that I am a racist, yet I continue to act like a racist and lie to myself about it?”…

I am pretty sure we could find a shorter title for the study, but that’s what would motivate people to take this test.

I say this because those that are in fact racist, already know it,…and those that say they don’t know if they are racist or not are just lying to themselves.

They are undoubtedly hypocrites and liars. I have less respect for this type of person than I do for the worst unapologetic bigot in Kentucky, and I like Kentucky!!!

Keep it real, please.

I have a better question to prove this ”am I a racist ” study. Here it is….”Would you mind if I married your daughter?”

And…

”Do you mind if your daughter has inter-racial babies?”

I have found that for all races, the reality of the answer lies the truth as to one’s true feelings on race.

….and that’s No Joke!

Morgan Harrington a 20 year old Virginia Tech college student, went missing after a Metallica rock concert in Virgina a week ago and now her parents have put up $150K for her return and Metallica is offering $5oK and helping the FBI in their search for her. On Oct 17th she was separated from her friends at John Paul Jones Arena and has been missing since. No one knows if something happened to her on that day or where she is. She has not tried to contact anyone.

Her family, Gil & Dan, parents are reaching out to her (maybe) abductors but why would they do that? They don’t know she was abducted? The FBI is searching for the girl. Police ask anyone with information to call 434-352-3467.

I got questions and I’m going into what usually happens to me in cases like this – remote viewingl. Here goes my attempt at what may have happened to Morgan. Also there is a video FBI investigators are studying of the last time they may have seen Morgan on videotape outside the stadium with 3 men aggressively leading her away.

Then her brother says an odd thing -”Morgan is too special for anyone to kill her. They would want to keep her around.” Odd yeah?

Morgan’s parents are offering $150K, Metallica is offering $50K and CrimeStoppers is offering $100K – that’s $300K for this girl who is so special. What makes her so special?

In several reports she left to go to the bathroom before the concert and then got locked out of the show and couldn’t get back in. Another report has her waiting outside with no mention of a car and that she had gone to the concert with her g/fs. Then her purse is found between the parking lot and the jock field of play – along with her cell phone with a missing battery? Why is that missing – for gps or location purposes? Did she not know how to put her phone on vibrate during the show? If the battery was removed why did she leave the cell phone?

I think her g/f are covering for her. She went down to the front to meet a guy that she had met or knew already from school. They argued about something and he took her. She’s still alive and her brother said that weird thing about NO ONE WILL KILL HER BECAUSE SHE’S SPECIAL. WHAT MAKES HER SPECIAL? Her parents seem to have money. The brother was not given a name in any of the articles and how would he know someone took her? There is approximately $300K floating around b/t Metallica, Crimestoppers and now the family offering money for her return. She had an unusual relationship with her parents especially her father.

Her brother may have been jealous that the sister got all the attention; maybe he needed money for school or something and kidnapped his sister knowing that she is so special to the parents that they would do and pay anything to get her back.

I don’t see that she’s dead but she is hiding with a man, someone her brother knows. I can’t see a predator, not sure that this is the case. I think Morgan is in on it with her brother and this other man who is maybe her lover or her brothers.

That’s what I can see right now. Let’s see how right I am in a few days when I think they will find her.
