(CNN) — Khloe Kardashian and her new husband, basketball player Lamar Odom, have found themselves a newlywed love nest.

Kardashian, star of the E! network’s reality show “Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami” and Odom, a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, have purchased a seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion in Tarzana, California, for nearly $4 million.

The pair, who married after a two-month-long courtship, have been looking for a place to call their own since their September 27 wedding.

Finding a home was one of the stipulations Kardashian, 25, wanted met before the couple started thinking about growing a family.

“I would be over the moon if I was having a baby, but right now, our focus is on finding a house. They say it’s a buyers’ market, but no one is selling, and I think it would be very stressful to have a baby in a condo downtown,” Kardashian told CNN earlier this month.

When asked by talk show host Chelsea Handler earlier this month if Khloe is pregnant yet, Odom, 30, responded, “Soon.” And when Handler pushed and asked, “You planning on having a baby soon? You want to do that right away?” Odom responded, “I do.”

Kardashian was even more candid with CNN, saying, “We are not planning to have a baby, but we’re not doing anything to not have a baby right now.”

West Columbia Police Department’s newest officer doesn’t accept pay for his work. He only wants to c

West Columbia Police Department’s newest officer doesn’t accept pay for his work. He only wants to chase a yellow tennis ball.

The department welcomed a K-9 named ZZ to the department last week, and the toss of the ball is his reward for finding narcotics or tracking someone.

While the ball is fun for the 16-month-old German shepherd, he is serious about his work, officers said.

“He’s a hard-working dog,” said Alfred Peña, who shares K-9 duties with Sgt. Larry Odom. “That’s what we wanted.”

To demonstrate ZZ’s abilities, officers hid a bag of narcotics in a car used by the police department. With a few commands in German, ZZ furiously ran the length of the car before stopping at the back passenger door. He then sat and whimpered once.

“He’s never missed anything,” Peña said.

As an officer walked to put the narcotics up, ZZ’s eyes followed him.

“He never took his eyes off of it,” said Laura Glaspie, dispatch supervisor.

The department has been without a K-9 unit for several years, Chief Michael Palmer said. It’s hoped bringing one back to the city will help police find drugs on traffic stops and in homes they are searching, Palmer said.

“We’ll also be assisting other agencies,” Peña said.

ZZ originally is from Germany and he was trained in Mexico. Peña uses German commands when he directs ZZ on a search so he won’t hear conflicting commands from others in English.

“It keeps him from getting confused,” Peña said.

Only Peña and Odom will work with ZZ, and when he’s not working, he’s usually practicing, Peña said.

“We’re real consistent about training every day,” he said.

Peña said the cost to buy ZZ and attend a week of training was $7,000. The city allotted $10,000 to the department’s K-9 unit for the dog and to build a kennel.

West Columbia business owner Jimmy Adams bought most of the materials for the kennel, which sits on a lot next to the West Columbia Police Department.

“It’s been a variety of people paying for stuff,” Palmer said.

Many of the police officers also spent time building the kennel, Palmer said.

The kennel was built for two dogs, and Palmer said he might consider buying another one sometime.

“We want to show the city what he can do,” Palmer said.

ZZ showed his worth during a traffic stop on Thursday, within a few days of coming to West Columbia. Police signaled for a woman who had been driving erratically to pull over in a grocery store parking lot, Palmer said. They called ZZ to the scene.

“He found marijuana in the woman’s purse,” he said.

Pau Gasol returned tonight with questions about his hamstring, and conditioning. All questions anwered! 24/13/3, with a blocked shot in 35 minutes. That’s the headline, but the real story is team balance. Something that was missing in the first 11 games. Six players in double figures, Five players with 5 or more rebounds, and 20 assists.

The defense also improved. Luol Deng, who was averaging 17 pts a game, was held to 6 and Salmons, who scored 18 in the first half, was held scoreless in the second. How did this happen? The great defense of Ron Artest who also scored 15/5/3 with 3 steals. Derek Fisher, who had been struggling with his shot…….5 for 5, and Lamar Odom (who told Phil Jackson a couple days ago that the second unit needed him to be in there) had 11 and 8, but more important, was a +20 on the +/- chart.

The only thing missing tonight was my dream lineup. Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Artest, and Bryant. Please Mr. Jackson, just once, throw me that bone.

I was sitting at my desk at work reading news articles, which is actually a part of my job. I read the political, sports and world news articles but try to steer clear of the fashion and entertainment ones. However, some of the are like reality television shows; I just can’t look away. One thing that manages to crop up time and time again are idiotic people who act without proper thought. This brought me to the idea of proclaiming my personal IDIOT OF THE MONTH award.
This one was hard actually. This past month, I have seen Richard Heene, the Balloon Boy’s dad, who deserves an honorable mention.
This month’s runner-up has had my fascination as the IDIOT OF MANY MONTHS for few months. I think that Jon Gosselin is a first class douche. Just when I think to myself “He just can’t get any worse”, he always does. I am sure he will do his best to be reseated in the number one spot again. He just can’t seem to screw his head on straight and get his act together. Step out of the light, Jon, step out of the light.
As award-winning as Jon is, this month belongs to Mr. Lamar Odom. The 6-foot, 10 inch, 208 pound foward for the Los Angeles Lakers has been in the league for the last decade. However, in the dating league, I am not so sure. This past month, Lamar Odom married Khloe Kardashian, the older sister and reality television co-star of Kim Kardashian. Now my views on the Kardashian trio are what they are and we will leave them buried for now. No doubt, like Jon, there will be a need for a blog on them in the future.
Let’s look at the Kardashian-Odom story simplified. Boy meets girl. Boy dates girl for thirty days. Boy marries girl. Three weeks after the ceremony, prenuptial agreement is signed. Boy agrees to terms of prenuptial agreement. Boy and girl get matching tattoos. Boy and girl live happily ever after. You think? Here is where I qualify Mr. Odom for his trophy.
While meeting, dating and marrying the love of your life is always great, a thirty day courtship should be cause for question. Yes, there is true love. Yes, love at first sight may exist. However, a little investigation of character flaws and personality analysis may take longer than that. It should when signing up for what’s supposed to be a lifetime contract. Yes, he’s a professional athlete and she is a socialite and “TV star” but where in this month did he start ignoring the flashing, bright neon sign that says GOLD DIGGER. How does she not know that he isn’t abusive? Oh well, that to the side, let’s move on to the next point.
Lamar’s next questionable move, to me, is a two-parter. First, let’s discuss prenuptial agreements in general. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t PRE mean BEFORE! Last I checked, that document should have been signed before the “I DO”s. I know in this day and time there are Postnuptial agreements so I will let this go. I applaud Lamar for wanting to protect his interest but…when telling his bride-to-be at the time that he wanted a prenup, the first thing she did was lawyer up. I don’t think that I would like to be married to someone that I need a contract with. It defeats the words “for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health”. However, that’s just my thinking.
The demands that Lamar Odom agreed to give Khloe in case of divorce are: $500,000 for every year the couple were married, $25,000 a month in general support, ownership of their new home (not even purchased yet), a new luxury vehicle at the end of every lease cycle, $5,000 a month for shopping, $1,000 for beauty care and lifetime courtside Lakers tickets for her family. Call me crazy but I don’t think Lamar is getting the better end of this deal. Hey, love means more than money, right?
Well, the icing on this particular cake for me are the matching tattoos that the couple got on their hands. The tattoos are very nice monograms of the couple’s initials. Odom has gotten “KO” tattooed on his hand and Kardashian received “LO” on hers. I may be a skeptic but I once again think that Lamar drew the short straw. If ( and I hope for Lamar’s sake the question never occurs) the couple parts ways, Khloe’s “LO” could serve as a derivative of her own name of course. On the other hand, Lamar’s “KO” can serve as an abbreviation for the Knock-out this marriage just may give him.
Let’s hope the loving couple remembers ” to love and to cherish” until death do them part. Let’s also hope that death is in old age. Does any one know if O.J. was invited?

Cutler and the Bears face Benson and the Bengals Leading up to tomorrow’s game, the “noi

Cutler and the Bears face Benson and the Bengals

Leading up to tomorrow’s game, the “noise” has become pretty loud. Since the beginning of the week Chad Ochocinco has been tweeting several Chicago Bears players. I, for one, personally think it’s funny and it seems that Chad is just having some good-natured fun with several Bears players. Here’s a couple of the tweets:

• To Jay Cutler: “After I embarrass the secondary, I want your jersey after the game.”

• To Jason McKie: “Dude, don’t bother getting dressed Sunday, okay!!!”

• To Alex Brown: “Go get your study film and watch me work on film, I’ll sign it for you after you watch it.”

• To Tommie Harris: “Tommie why are your [defensive backs] scared of me, it’s just a game.”

• To ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter: “I see you on TV, call the National Guard now Adam, please, Peanut Tillman is gonna need all the help he can get!!! Hurry.”

But the real talk leading up to the game is that between ex-Bear and current Bengal Cedric Benson and his former team. Earlier in the week Benson was pretty dismissive about any sort of revenge playing his former team, but as the week wore on Benson claimed that the Bears “blackballed” the former 1st round pick from Texas. As Bears fans know, Benson failed to produce on the field and was trouble off of it. That combination led to his release in 2008, and hardly anyone took a chance on him until finally Marvin Lewis did. From the beginning the Bears and Benson never saw eye to eye so it is no surprise that talk leading up to the game has revealed Benson’s true nature towards the Bears. But for a guy who was a “bust” in Chicago, Benson has been excellent for the Bengals where he is currently the 3rd leading rusher in the league.

For the Bears to beat the Bengals they need to reestablish their run game (see last post). The run will keep the Bengals defense honest and on their toes, and it will help the redzone woes of the Bears. It helps that the Bengals Antwan Odom – the NFL’s sack leader as of last weekend – is out for the season. Secondly, the Bears need to cause Carson Palmer and the Bengals offense to turn the ball over – or at least make it hell for Palmer. I am more worried about Palmer carving the secondary rather than Benson doing it on his feet. I haven’t really watched the Bengals much this year, but I think the Bears can handle the Bengals secondary. Who knows we may have a shootout!

I see the Bears winning this game on the road by at least a touchdown.

Yes, you heard me.

The media likes to portray the Lakers as Kobe’s team. He carries them. They’d be trash without him.

Although its an acknowledged fact L.A. would not be playing for a title with someone like Adam Morrison leading the charge, it’s important to note the Lakers’ playoff success from 2005-’07.

In ‘05, L.A. missed the playoffs. In ‘06, in the first round, they were knocked out by Phoenix. In ‘07, in the first round, again, the Lakers were sent packing by the Sun

During this time, Kobe was L.A.’s go-to guy. He was their General and the rest of his purple-and-gold clad mates were his minions (not that they had a say in it).

But, as even the most laid-back fan can see, the team didn’t get very far.

Then, in ‘07-’08, to almost everyone’s surprise, Andrew Bynum transforms into a beast-like big man and the Lakers are rolling. They’re contenders once again.

After Pau Gasol came on board (after trading away promising guard Javaris Crittenton and a few first rounders), the Lakers were definitely threatening to claim their first championship since Shaquille O’neal found a new home (and a more willing sidekick) in South Beach.

The point is, Los Angeles is a team. They’re made up of different components, each playing a vital role in accomplishing their main goal: to dominate the rest of the NBA in ‘09-’10 and to defend their title (hopefully, against Beantown).

Where would Kobe Bryant be without Shannon Brown playing big against Denver? Where would he be without Gasol’s consistent scoring and all-out effort every night? And where would Bryant be without Lamar Odom’s clutch play off the bench, again, in the conference final vs. the Nuggs?

The Lakers need Bryant. Bryant needs his teammates. His teammates look better playing with him (to understand this better, imagine Vujacic in a Grizzlies uniform backing up O.J. Mayo – don’t think he’d have signed that $15 million contract).

In other news, there’s a website pleading the Lakers’ franchise to return to their throwback look. I, for one, agree. The old school is better. Maybe a spin-off of it would be the right thing to do.

So after a month of dating Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom decided to get married and live happily ever after! Awww! STOP! PUMP THE BRAKES! A month? I didn’t even think they were dating that long, but hey whatever makes them happy! Some of the guest who were in attendence were Kelly Osbourne(whose been looking great these days, Get em girl!) and a whole bunch of other people! I mean really are we THAT enthused about this wedding? Hmmm, I won’t throw any shade to this wedding they both seem happy. I pray that their marriage is a successful one. Okay! On to the next one! ~~~>

Exclusive khloe and lamar contrary to what everyone was saying got married today .. They tied the knot to the tune of about 250 guest, icluding kobe bryant, kelly Osbourne ,Phil jackson and family and friends. Here is how E Online reported it

News has confirmed that Khloé Kardashian and the Los Angeles Lakers star swapped vows Sunday night in front of family, friends and team members (of both the NBA and E! variety) at a private estate in Beverly Hills.

The bride wore a Vera Wang gown and was escorted down the aisle by stepdad Bruce Jenner, with sisters Kim and Kourtney at her side, while a 10-piece orchestra played in the background.

There was, of course, no trouble keeping up with the Kardashians this weekend—all of them were at the wedding, along with Ryan Seacrest, Chelsea Handler, Kelly Osbourne,Kobe Bryant, Lara Spencer, Brittny Gastineau and Lala Vasquez.

Kim and Kourtney served as maids of honor, while littler ones Kendall and Kylie Jennerwere bridesmaids along with Khadijah Haqq, Malika Haqq and Lauren London. Odom’s close friend and business partner Jamie Sangouthai was his best man. Groomsmen included his new brother-in-law, Rob Kardashian, and Robert Davis, Alex Harris, Lester Knispel and Jeff Schwartz.

Maybe that explains the reason why Lamar pulled out of the real bachelor party? i don’t know then i got a phone call saying that there is a suprise double wedding being planned? I don’t know what’s goin on but i will fid out the truth for ALL OF YOU within a couple of hours

ok here is what i am getting back from the Bloktv street scoopers. The wedding party has been revealed for khole and Lamar who tie the knot today.. The few things we know is this..Kim and Kourtney are both said to be maid’s of Honour. A buisness partner of lamar is said to be one of the best men.. Of course khloe 2 little sisters kendal and Kylie are both bridesmaids. The wedding is said to take place in front of about 250 people at irving Azoffs home a music manager. Rob Kardashian is said to be oe of the groomsmen. Kobe bryant was invited and is scheduled to attend. The D.J for the reception is said to be D.J Kid capri but it could be D.J Jazzy Jeff. I also hear that lamar was trying to get maxwell to sing at their wedding if he couldn’t book prince or Ne-Yo .. It is said to be a very special event very intimate yet and still very celebrity driven. Rumored guest are said to include janet jackson, terrence j and even Rob’s ex Girlfreind Adrian (who i hear rob was i total disagreement of coming). Kim’s ex reggie Bush was ivited but will not attend he will be in buffalo playing.. Remember where you heard it first. I don’t understand why khole and Lamar are rushing i do not believe they are in love this fast.. I do know this marriage will not last a year. My insites tell me that terrence J was not for this marriage. A lot of people say that this marriage was a cover up to cover up terrence J and Khole’s love affair. We will see

OK so Lamar and Khole if this whole thing is a fake then they are sure nuff playing this thing out. lamar odom was suppose to have a bachelor party thrown by girls gone wild creator Joe francis but lamar cancelled that instead he had a bachelor party with some of his close freinds and Rob kardashian WTF yep lamar odom wanted his bride to be to see that he only has eyes for her .. Even when female party goers approach lamar he seem disinterested and mostly mingled with his Baller friends.. I guess all the talk about this being fake will soon go by the wastesides because khloe and lamar are really gonna do it.

The Soon-To-Be Mr. & Mrs. Lamar Odom.

Word Lamar? For real? For all points & purposes let me get this straight: Lamar Odom- a 10 year NBA vet- who recently signed a $33 million 4 year contract to continue on with the LA Lakers after helping the franchise win their 15th NBA Championship, is set to “Jump The Broom” with reality television star Khloe Kardashian. Sounds innocent enough, except for the fact they’ve Only been dating SIX WEEKS!!!

Two people meet & fall in love is the most Beautiful thing in the world. But this right here has Dumb Sh*t written all over it! A NINE karat ring is what he put on this chick. And NO PRENUP! Am I Hating? YES! Why? Because there’s more: Lamar had been with the mother of his two children (Destiny; 10, Lamar Jr.; 7, and Jayden; who died of SIDS @ 6 mos. ) for 12 years, Liza Morales, but I guess 12 years & three kids couldn’t make him put a ring on it. Damn Shame.

This is why a lot of women have a hard time being “supportive” of men. He was with his children’s mother back in the day, when he had neither POT nor WINDOW. Then, the minute his change is no longer strange, he wants to slide up in the P*$$y he couldn’t previously afford. Typical. But damn, he gotta wife it? He & Liza had children together. And sadly, lost a child together. She held down the family situation making sure the home front was tight, while he was on the road caking up. For years they worked together as a family unit. Two years ago they split up and that could have been due to the loss of the baby. So, could it be that Lamar is still grieving? Oh who the hell knows. All we do know is that Liza put in WORK, yet SIX WEEKS KHLOE walks away with the title Mrs. Odom. Yes I’m A HATER! Hater Of The Dumb Sh*t!

Who knew? While spending another most exciting day watching Mike watch football, I started to notice that the announcers get away with saying some outlandish shit! I decided to chronicle the top five gems so you can see not only how mature I am but also, how dirty football really is. (Besides the grown ass men jumping all over each other.) If they keep talking about balls like this I just might become a fan. Well, not like I am a basketball fan, but I might be able to at least stay awake. Maybe…

*Biggest Tight End (I guess a big ass can be tight? Who knew?)

*If he didn’t bobble the ball, he could have scored! (Hey, some guys don’t like their balls bobbled. To each his own!)

*Rivers has shown San Diego his best ball in the 4th quarter. (I wonder if it was the left or right.)

*Looking for an open hole. (I’m sure some of you can relate.)

*Jammer squirts though. (Sounds like what happened to Lil Wayne.)

As you can see it was a most eventful Sunday. I would also like to say the upcoming nuptials of Khloe Kardamazon to Lamar Scrodum are ridiculous. I mean, after dating a month? I am hoping they don’t breed. PLEASE be sterile Khloe. Wait, guys can’t get pregnant…phew!! I believe Chris “Birdman” Andersen said it best, “Lamar Odom is marrying one of the Kardashian’s? It’s going to be hard to eat all those Skittles w/ a cold sore, Lamar.” The Birdman isn’t just sexy, he’s funny too. Mama likey.

When Atmore paramedic Susan Odom taught a CPR and Heimlich Maneuver class to a group of Atmore Polic

When Atmore paramedic Susan Odom taught a CPR and Heimlich Maneuver class to a group of Atmore Police officers, she never imagined that the training would save her life. And she certainly never thought her husband would be the one to come to her rescue.

Susan had finished her shift at Atmore Ambulance and headed to her Atmore home last Friday morning. Her husband, Atmore Police Department Corporal Arthur Odom, was at work, filling out a report at the police station.

That’s when the first 911 call for help came in. Dispatcher Betty Cox took the call from the Odom home, but there was seemingly no one on the line.

“The kids were off to school, and I was just doing the normal stuff — cleaning house,” Susan said. “I had some watermelon and a banana. I swallowed and knew something was wrong. It was stuck in my throat; it would not come up. I knew I started panicking.”

As a certified instructor, Susan knew about the Heimlich Maneuver, a series abdominal thrusts used to dislodge an item lodged in the airway. She even knew how to perform the Heimlich on herself, leaning at first over a dining room table chair, and then over a high sink in the bathroom. But nothing worked.

Betty Cox, the dispatcher, asked Arthur if there would be anyone at his house that would be playing on the phone making calls to 911. She knew where the silent call was originating from thanks to the computerized E911 system.

Arthur left the police station and began driving the mile to his house. That’s when the dispatcher notified him that there had been a second 911 call from his house.

“The phone had dropped the call,” Susan said. “So I called back. All I could do was hit the floor to make noise. I did not know what else to do. I realized I was in real trouble. I don’t really remember what happened next; I was real close to blacking out. The next thing I knew, my husband was coming in.”

“When that second call came in, I knew something was not right,” he said. “I found her in the floor when I came in the house.”

“That’s when all of that training kicked in,” Arthur said. Susan had trained him well. He performed the Heimlich Maneuver, eventually clearing her airway, saving her life.

After the obstruction was cleared, paramedic Susan refused to let her coworkers from Atmore Ambulance take her to the hospital.

Instead, she and Arthur did something that she admits some might find unusual moments after being saved from death by choking.

They went to eat lunch.

“I did eat very carefully,” she said.

“It’s what we both do,” she said. “We help people everyday. It was routine, part of our training. Sure, it happened to us, but it did not bother either one of us too much.”

“He did save my life, and I am very thankful for him every day,” she said. “He is my hero.”

Call it a perfect match, he says. The proverbial two peas in a pod.

“We actually met at a motorcycle wreck,” he said. He was there working as a police officer; she was there as the paramedic on the Atmore Ambulance that responded. They have been married for four and half years now.

“It was love at first sight,” Arthur said, cracking a little smile. “I saw her, and that was it.”

He never knew that when he swept her off her feet, he would be saving her life.

“I have confidence in all the officers,” she said, noting that they had all taken her class and been recertified in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver.

“Last week, Atmore Police Officer Arthur Odom responded to a strange 911 call at his own house,” Channel 3 News anchor Bob Solarski began a report on WEAR Thursday night as Arthur and Susan gathered around the TV to watch.

“I don’t like how they did the report,” she said as the report aired. “It was not really them; it just does not seem right to see us sitting there on the TV talking about this.”

But she hopes the attention from the WEAR interview, an interview on WKRG TV and this NorthEscambia.com article accomplished one thing — “I hope this gets more people to sign up for a CPR class that includes the Heimlich Maneuver. I’m living proof that it can save someone.”

Part of the American Heart Association class that Susan teaches also stresses the importance of using a landline –not a cellular — phone to call 911 when possible.

“If I had called from a cell phone, they would not have known where to send help,” Susan said. “Even though I could not speak, they knew were to send help because our address showed up on the E911 system.”

Don’t get me wrong — I despise Tom Brady and the Pats as much as…well, anybody outside of Boston that isn’t a disgraceful bandwagon jumper. Still, his cameo on Entourage Sunday night goes down as my favourite appearance by an athlete on the show, moving slightly ahead Lamar Odom and his calves. It may get even better — I’ve heard King James and Steve Nash are set to make appearances before the season is over. God bless HBO!

By now I know you have heard that Lamar Odom is happy to be back in Los Angeles with the greatest franchise in NBA history. Odom brings a lot more to the team than a lot of people think. When I run into people on the street, most of them think that Odom is just an inconsistent player who will never reach his full potential. However, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. What Lamar brings to the Lakers is just as valuable as what Scottie Pippen brought to the Bulls. Lamar is the Lakers’ best rebounder, he scores when the team needs it most, and most importantly he is nearly a 7 footer yet moves like a guard. This is a huge advantage for the Lakers because with this asset on the court it is possible to switch big to small when the Lakers are on defense. Furthermore he is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and, along with Pau, he makes it much more difficult to double Kobe. Finally if you ever watch who is leading the huddle before games, it’s Odom. So just like Derek Fisher aka Gold Fish, he is able to fire up teammates and get them ready to go. Without Odom, title 16 would be almost impossible but with him the Lakers are favorites.
