I had attended the campus recruitment of a very famous, popular and powerful company – the dream company of many and got selected for a job with an equal combination of luck and skill. About 10 days back, the recruitment was confirmed and all the students who were selected for recruitment were given their offer letters. That really was a moment of intense elation and pride. I was already very proud of the fact that I was the first person in the college to be selected for recruitment – my name was read first while reading the list of selected candidates! and seeing the offer letter was really a dream come true for me. I am really really hoping that my near and dear friends too get recruited asap so that we can share our happiness and live the rest of our college life in a memorable way. All the best to all my peers!

Always be prepared from the fraud which lots of companies are doing with the fresher. Some times the experienced people too faces the same situation, so always be prepared to fight against job fraud. Here are a few quick tips which can ensure you from frauds:

#1 Tip: Never reveal your confidential detail to any employer: Always be prepared to say NO to any employer if he asks for either your credit card details or any type of secured numbers. If some one asks these details then it is better not to join that organization.

#2 Tips: Never join the Organization if they don’t have any Business Plan: If you have faced the interview in any organization and that organization is not having any Business Plan or Model, then don’t plan to join that one. They will always make you unsatisfied in long run.

#3 Tips: Do not join the company which has not taken proper Interview: This is also one sort of fraud, many companies don’t take any sort of interviews and they offer you to join them. Leave them immediately otherwise you might feel problem with them. It is in fact my personal opinion that there is always some kind of fraud behind these types ofcompanies which offers you without taking any type of interviews either front to front or telephonic one.

#4 Tips: Leave the company immediately if they ask you any amount to deposit: This is the biggest type of fraud I have ever seen. Not a single good company is there which will ask you to deposit any amount before giving the offer letter to you. So if any company asks you to deposit any amount then leave them immediately.

#5 Tips: Check the Offer Letter Properly: Offer letter is the main source of information about any company at initial level. Once you will get the offer letter go through each and every word of the letter with proper care. Check if there is something which is objectionable. Do the research from your self about the past of the company.

It is the time when students are facing the campus interviews; lots of companies are recruiting them despite the global downfall of the market. So it is good to prepare against any sort of fraud. Always be sure to join anycompany, since if it is your first job then it is going to affect you through out your life.

Bueno, primer día en Hatfield. Después de jugar a una súper partida de Tetris para que cupiera todo en la maleta y Ryanair no me cobrara por pasarme de peso, cogí el avión sin más complicaciones. Llegué al aeropuerto y en la misma entrada compré el billete de autobús directo a Hatfield. El conductor me subió las maletas al maletero, me indicó que el autobús no para en la universidad pero que estaba cerca y al llegar baja del autobús me da las maletas y me indica como llegar a la universidad. Además el autobús nuevo, amplio, limpio… Vamos, igual que en ALSA XD, para los que hayáis tenido la mala suerte de tener que ser sus clientes.

Como ya sabéis, me vine sin lo del alojamiento muy claro, ya que no había manera de que me contestaran a los mails. Pero eso si, con los papeles enviados en la fecha correcta y con una llamada que me aseguraba que no tendría problemas y que lo solucionaría al llegar.

Bueno, pues llegué a la universidad y me fui directo con mi equipaje al Student’s Centre para que me dieran el alojamiento. Después de hacer un buen rato de cola, hablé con una de las mujeres que estaban atendiendo, le expliqué como estaba la cosa, comprobó algo en el ordenador y empezó a decirme, en pocas palabras, que le había mentido y que no me podía dar habitación. Empecé a pensar que se cumplían mis peores presagios de tener que dormir en el cajero de algún banco (Había pensado en el Abby, que por lo menos es español XD), pero se me ocurrió la idea de sacarle el iPhone y eneñarle todos los mails enviados con sus fechas correspondientes. A la mujer enseguida le cambió la cara. Me dijo que me apartara de la cola, faltaba poco para cerrar, y que en un momento me lo solucionaría. Cuando cerraron me senté con ella y en cinco minutos me imprimió un contrato, firmé, pagué y me dieron la llave. Aun no siendo mi culpa, no estoy donde quería pero no esta mal. Por lo menos ya sabéis que tengo un techo bajo el cual dormir.

Consejos para los que piensen venir a University of Hertfordshire:

Lo mejor es tenerlo todo arreglado antes de agosto. Yo envié los papeles a tiempo, pero hay truco. No te dan alojamiento hasta que no tienes “Plaza definitiva” en la universidad, y eso no ocurre hasta que no envías tu “Acceptance letter” que viene junto a tu “Offer letter”, y eso es trabajo de tu coordinador. A mi no me la envió hasta hace una semana y yo pensaba que con el “Application Form” o formulario de inscripción era suficiente. Atosiga a e-mails hasta que te lo envíen, sobretodo si vas a estudiar informática ya que el coordinador no va a ponerle tanto interés como cabría esperar.

let me, a beginner prospective home buyer, give you, a reader who may have found this post while searching for real estate information, some tips when searching for a home.

1.  don’t buy a home anywhere near the time you are planning a vacation. you will not enjoy your vacation.
2.  if the home you’re looking at to purchase had someone pass away in it, make sure everyone is comfortable with that before proceeding.
3.  understand the policies of the local realtors on how earnest money is valued – i.e. will the seller’s realtor even consider an offer without it?
4.  pre approval letters and pre qualification letters are totally different things.  be sure to get a pre approval letter secure before talking to any sellers representative and/or owner. you will absolutely need one since the housing market debacle.

these are just a FEW pieces of advice when buying a home. there are millions of factors when purchasing that i can’t possibly mention in this post. these are some of the key points my fiance and i experienced during the past month and a half in our home search.

i’m stressed out.  flat out exhausted. i haven’t felt this way since working at my old company or since i was in college cramming or studying for a midterm or final. why? well, it’s going to the most financially burdening decision that we make in our lives. it will also set the path of the future for us and our children. where we live will have all of the significance in shaping our lives. yes…i have a reason to be stressed out and to be exhausted. more that i could ever be…even more so than running a marathon.

tomorrow we will notify our realtor that we will be postponing our offer for the property. we feel that handling it after we return from our trip to japan will allow us to concentrate and tend to everything that will arise during the 17 day period. i don’t want to corner ourselves in making a decision. 17 days sounds like a long time. yet with the convenience of email and text messaging i still think that it is barely enough time to handle all of the items in the offer letter contingencies.

so for now, we will shelve this decision until we return from nippon. more on our home buying experience later this year!

Hola amigos(hi friends),

It has been really long that I last posted in this blog. It was partly because of the lack of focus after being stung by the lethargy bug and partly due to the confidentiality agreement that I signed with my company. So from now on I don’t want to speak about any company specific policies or its internal strategies rather I would speak about the IT industry as a whole and the ramifications on this industry due to the global economic slowdown (or the unfortunately famous noun called recession). Ok having established my stance, in the past 6 months from the day I started posting on this blog I received many mails and comments. Most of them with the same query. “I—— from ——college completed my degree on so and so date .I was given my offer letter on so and so date .can you please predict my joining date” I never replied to most of those questions .because I really don’t know the answer. Meanwhile some of them received their joining dates, some were hoping to get them soon and few others have actually lost their hopes and are in utter despair. Amid the growing concerns and apprehensions the satyam fiasco acted as a catalyst to the already distressed student community who were eagerly awaiting for their joining dates in turn creating more panic among them. While most of the top tier IT companies are honoring the on campus offers made to the students, the second rung companies are either deferring the joining dates or terminating the offers they actually made. How does the failure of lehman brothers or merger of bank of America or an acquisition of one company by the other affect an IT industry…??And how do these consequences have an effect on my joining date…??how is my career going to shape up amid such chaos…?? These are some of the question that have been eluding many of the soon to be IT professionals.

Balik cubical je, aku terus baca offer letter..portion yg aku tengok fis2 skali adalah annual income yg diorg offer..(memang dasar mata duitan tul..hahah)..

“Wowwwww…” Tuh la impression aku bile calculate montly salary…

“Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…” Macam tuh plak respon aku kali ni..uhuksss..

Annual leave 10 hari jer??? Isk3..aku ingat Motorola la yg paling kedekut bagi 12 hari AL, skali ade lagi company yg lagi worse tang cutinye..sikit giler!! Aku nih kalo dah nak raya puasa, maunye 5 hari nak apply leave..then raya cina lak mesti nak 2 3 hari lagi..tuh tak termasuk lagi perayaan lain2..huhu..gi mana dong??? Pastu, no marriage leave??? Haihhhh, walaupun aku tade plan nak kawen buat masa terdekat, nih kes berat nih..giler ape nak kena deduct dari AL yg ciput itu??? dan ini lah salah satu hot topic dikalangan Motorolan yg masih single..ahaksss!!

Erksss…2 months notice??? Adehhhh, susah nyer nak resign camni..dengan zaman kemelesetan ekonomi skang, susah company nak tunggu lame2 kalo nak hire orang baru..huhu..bagi aku, nih la issue yg paling aku concern..Hmmmm…
