With a precious few exceptions (like Nobuta wo Produce), high school-based J-dramas seem to be nothing but an endless wasteland of sheer inanity, where people are one-dimensional buffoons and situational plausibility gets pimped out for cheap laughs. In this world, school IS a joke. Literally.

I give you Exhibit A:

Groundhog Day with the Gokusens

The Cast:
Nakama Yukie, Utsui Ken, Namase Katsuhisa, and a truckload of Johnnies, Johnny-types, Johnny wannabes, and Johnny rejects… plus the seasonal posse of Angry Young Rebels aka Yankumi’s Core Group

In a Nutshell:
Young math teacher Yankumi + her homeroom class of toughies and teenage dirtbags = Too much violence, waaaaaay too much playing hooky, but not enough algebra. (Stand and Deliver this ain’t.)

I finally gave Gokusen a try because of all the hype surrounding the series/franchise/commercial juggernaut. And I suppose anyone would’ve found the story *marginally* enjoyable… if they were FIVE years old, that is. Sitting through the Gokusens I kept feeling like frikkin’ Bill Murray in Groundhog Day: You’re forced to relive the same episode over and over and over again, watching various permutations of the same rehashed situations: The baaad, baaaad boys of Class 3-D are mean to Yankumi! Yankumi gets tough on them! The boys get into various scrapes/fisticuffs with the Criminal Elements of Society! Yankumi saves her “precious students”–because Yankumi is really… a Yakuza scion trained in the age-old art of a$$-kicking! So the boys inevitably end up learning Valuable Life Lessons! Like… Obey your elders! Choose your battles wisely! Learn to appreciate your teachers! Finish high school, and reach!your!potential! Follow your heart! (Hahaha)

Really, they could’ve done ALL OF THIS with just one SP and achieved the same result–instead of 3 seasons, 2 SPs and a feature film.

But for purposes of comparison: Gokusen 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gokusen 2.

Gokusen 1 is definitely less frenetic and less cartoonish than G2, and loads more enjoyable. (And the 3-D classroom of G1 looks so… normal, unlike that pigsty from G2. *shudders*) I actually found myself emotionally involved at some level–the Kumai boy’s (Waki Tomohiro) story in particular. And Nakama Yukie has great chemistry with Matsumoto Jun as Sawada Shin, G1’s Alpha Male of the Angry Young Rebels. Nothing sexual or anything (she’s his frikkin’ teacher, duh), but their scenes make the viewer wish for some post-graduation romance, haha. NOW I understand why there are like, 1 million YankumixShin shippers out there (…and why the Kame haters increased by 1 million when the movie came out this year, lol).

And it’s interesting to see MatsuJun and Oguri Shun in their career-making roles (this was way back in 2002, after all)… even more interesting to see how they looked before the advent of eyebrow threading and orthodontia, lol.

<Now this is the part where my three regular readers get whittled down to two. (Run away!!! Run away!!!)>

Yes, I watched Gokusen 2 for Kamenashi Kazuya, yes Kame that sick little skank from KAT-TUN, because I’m a Kame Kompletist, and that’s what you DO when you’re a Kompletist, you watch all his dramas no matter how Krappy, and don’t even get me started on the Krappiest of them all, Gokusen is decent compared to the other things I’ve seen Kame in, oh my eyes, my eyes… /end of run-on sentence. Well, the only thing I liked about Gokusen 2 was… Kame. (Surprise, surprise.)

But was it just me, or did he actually have some chemistry with Nakama Yukie, as well? Heh heh heh… Not in a YankumixShin way, of course, but… Kame’s character (Odagiri Ryu, this season’s Alpha Male of the Angry Young Rebels) is the only one in his class who doesn’t treat Yankumi like she’s their teacher/buddy/bodyguard/knight in shining armor. I actually like how the Yankumi-Ryu dynamic is developed in this drama.

Oh, and I liked the music of the second season, particularly that horribly infectious “No More Cry” by D-51 as the theme song, and “Kizuna” (hehehe) by Kame as the insert track.

Awwww, looky, someone’s feeling left out ‘coz E.G. didn’t mention him, not even once…

I think the best thing about the Gokusens would be Yankumi’s interaction with her granddad (Utsui Ken) and their Yakuza homies (Anan Kenji, Uchiyama Shinji, Kaneko Ken–hilarious, all). Entertaining stuff, if hardly realistic. The producers/writers obviously wanted to make the Yakuza angle as benign as possible, considering the school kids and tweeners who (presumably) made up the lion’s share of the TV audience. Yankumi’s gramps is portrayed as this kindly old man who couldn’t hurt a fly, but all the time I was thinking, “He’s a frickin’ MOB BOSS… how many people has he had killed, anyway?” But then pretty much everything else in the Gokusens is trivialized, so it’s easy to see why the writers glossed over this, er, little detail (Yakuza! = Organized! Crime! Syndicate!). Durrrr…

And as for Gokusen 3… hahahahahahha I’m not THAT shtooopidddd…

(But I’ll be watching Gokusen the Movie once the DVD is released, so I guess I AM. Doh!)

Exhibit B:

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e / For You in Full Bloom

The Cast:
Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma, Mizushima Hiro, a dog, and more truckloads of Johnnies, Johnny-types, Johnny wannabes, and Johnny rejects

In a Nutshell:
Girl travels halfway across the globe to help Serious Sporty Guy “find himself,” but first needs to pose as a guy to get into Serious Sporty Guy’s all-boys school. This other dude, Funny Dorky Guy, completes the requisite love triangle.

(SpoilLert: None!!! Because I am Kind and Generous…)

But first, let’s sing…

The Hana Kimi Tiny Toon Adventures!

And in this cartoony,

Get a dose of comedy!

I really don’t have to continue writing about Hana Kimi because that song from the Warner Bros. animated series sums it up beauuuutifully. But I will anyway, hahaha.

So why did I slog through this high school farce-o-rama? Because Oguri Shun is Love.

Repeat after me: Oguri Shun is L-O-V-E. Love. Okay, so maybe he isn’t classically handsome–but then this is Japan, so who is, right? Lol. (The only classically handsome J-actors I know would be Karasawa Toshiaki, Fujiki Naohito, Tsumabuki Satoshi, and (a pre-anorexic) Tamaki Hiroshi… Yep, that’s about it… Oh no, not you, KimuTaku, I never found you classically handsome, sorry… Nope, not even in Good Luck!… Back of the line, buddy! Lol) Back to non-classically handsome Shun: But there’s something about good acting that makes a character (and the actor playing him) so… compelling to watch. Towering over everyone else, Shun may look a bit too… mature to be playing a high school student on Hana Kimi (*ka-ching!* understatement of the year! hahahahaha), but but BUT I never would’ve found this drama tolerable without him in it. Yep, without him as Sano Izumi aka The Serious Sporty Guy, I would’ve chucked my DVD out the window right after Episode One.

Amid the crazy, meandering stupidity of Hana Kimi, Shun brings a certain… gravitas, and a core of believability to the story. I’ve seen him in pretty good productions (Hana Yori Dango, Stand Up!) as well as pretty awful ones (the abortion that was Yuuki, and now, Hana Kimi), but I was blown away by his performance in each one. He really seems to understand, as in really understand what each character is about–no matter how well, or how poorly written that role is–and he has that gift (yeah, the one soooo few actors have, lol) of inhabiting a character and making it his own, despite crappy writing/direction or mediocre co-stars. Shun can make whatever character he’s playing feel like a real person, whether the material is hardcore comedy, or more serious fare.

It also helps that his character on Hana Kimi is (writing-wise) the meatiest of the lot: the whole character arc of Sano Izumi is developed (i.e. his internal conflict, his motivation, his worries and insecurities, his family baggage) and so you really get to witness his personal journey throughout the drama. But then this is Shun, so even with the character of Sano being the best-written on the entire drama, a lesser actor may have messed it all up just the same, lol. And yeah, I’d totally believe his character was this record-breaking track star–with that super athletic body of his? *wolf-whistles, lol* Baby baby baby. You can (high)jump me anytime, lolz. (PLUS, sporting that jet-black hair, and walking around in those to-die-for Nike track suits, Shun certainly looks his cutest among all the dramas I’ve seen him in. Oooh-la-la!!!)

Then there’s Ikuta Toma aka “The Johnny That, er, Johnny Forgot” (lol), as Nakatsu Shuichi, the Funny Dorky Guy who develops feelings for Horikita Maki’s character–which naturally convinces him that he’s gay, which naturally generates more laughs for the story. I thought that Toma’s “dark” (lol) turn on Hana Yori Dango 2 was rather laughable, but he really surprised me on Hana Kimi. Providing the comedic foil to Shun’s straight-arrow character, Toma is freaking hilarious as Nakatsu Shuichi–typically J-com, but never completely over the top. And I like that as an actor, Toma doesn’t balk at making fun of himself, and is refreshingly unselfconscious despite all the outrageous situations his character finds himself in. Nakatsu doesn’t realize right away that Horikita Maki is a SHE, and it is this (erroneously based) Gay Awakening of his that provides the drama’s funniest moments. (Nakatsu’s 5,866 nosebleed scenes were highly amusing, and I was LMAO during the scene when he goes all moony over Ashiya Mizuki (Horikita Maki) at the okonomiyaki parlor, and the camera zooms in on his expression, with water dribbling from his mouth and love cataracts glowing in his eyes.) At least I had fun watching Toma, even if the rest of the comic acting from the cast felt so fake.

But oh dear, Horikita Maki: the weakest link of the three. I was HOPING to see a Girl acting like a Boy (same kind of role that Amanda Bynes NAILED!!! in the 2006 film She’s the Man–aka Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” for the MTV Generation, heh), but it was sooooo frustrating to watch Maki Not. Even. Trying. Or. Acting. Like. She. Was. Trying. What we have instead is a Girl who still acts like a Girl but has everyone thinking she’s a Boy because: 1) the boys at Osaka High are THAT dumb, and 2) the writing decreed that nobody would ever find her out until the last episode. Durrr. Maki doesn’t even lower her voice, or walk like a dude, or adopt other mannish mannerisms–things Amanda Bynes did in She’s the Man, with delightfully hilarious results. She’s the Man was so entertaining (despite being–yessss, another high school rom-com) because Bynes attacked her role with an almost gleeful gusto, and wasn’t afraid her Disney/Nickelodeon-weaned image would take a beating by appearing in a gender-bending role, or by deglamorizing herself to the point of being unrecognizable. The whole film is really about the comedy of errors that ensues as Viola (Amanda Bynes) tries her darnedest to fit into the all-boys school, despite getting into a lot of hairy near-scrapes, compounded even more by the maddening proximity to her super-stud of a roommate, Duke Orsino (Channing Tatum).

On the surface it may not seem fair to pit Hana Kimi against She’s the Man. “Comparisons are odious,” as the saying goes. But they ARE inevitable. And cultural differences aside, the only valid point for comparison between Maki’s turn on Hana Kimi and other gender-bender roles would lie in the believability of the performance: did the actress play a girl playing a guy to a convincing degree? Horikita Maki = not in my book. What made me want to tear my hair out was watching this insipid, half-a$$ed effort from her that would’ve been pleasantly watchable–if her character hadn’t pretended to be a guy from the start. She’s SUCH a girl here, and what astounds me even more is how the writing loves to make her character dress up in ladies’ formalwear (e.g. the pageant, then later the dance contest), then later makes a big deal of her being outed as a girl, when everything about the drama (the writing, Maki’s unconvincing acting) somehow conveniently forgets how bloody important it is for Ashiya to act as boyishly as possible, and not give even the barest hint that she’s actually a girl!!! Argh!!! *self-destructs*

Granted, Japan is crawling with bishounen types, so mannishness (even in men) may not be as idealized as in other cultures. But Maki didn’t even play androgynous convincingly, IMO. She obviously got poor direction from The Director, who (with The Writer) ought to take the brunt of the blame for the whole phony treatment of Hana Kimi. The effectivity of a performance (or lack thereof) is really the net effect of the writing, the direction, and the actor’s own interpretation of the role. Which is why it’s SO important for actors (especially those serious about TEH CRAFT!) to view their portrayal as a collaborative process. And this can only be achieved if the actor and director truly understand how the character was written and share in the same creative vision. But if all the lead star ever does is mouth her lines and hop when the director says “hop,” and never really goes deep into her character, then that’s another story altogether, heh.

What’s best about Hana Kimi: Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma, the Nike track suits, and the dog.

And the worst? Everything and everyone else. Especially YOU, Maki, you… GIRL.

i just love Oguri Shun… and with Mizushima Hiro… better… although i still love Oguri more… hahaha…

anyways…

the story continues as the two of them work at protecting the girl while also allowing her to lead a normal life as much as possible… as it will help with her memory… she also starts work at a small cafe or restaurant with another police on the job… but one of the waiter there is a bad guy that she is suppose to avoid… he is trying to get close to her to see that her amnesia is real and that she is no closer to the truth… ah… the girl’s older sister visited her and she regained a bit of her memory during the few days that her sister is with her…

ah… whenever Sou visits his family… there is sure to be some funny scenes and conversations… he went back for dinner and his sister’s boyfriend was there too…

Sou: So why is he (sis’s boyfriend) here again/everyday?

Sis: He likes to drink (dunno what) soup…

Boyfriend: Hi aniki (older brother)

Sou: That’s why I’m not your brother… But that does not mean he has to come everyday…

Boyfriend: Hey. Seconds…

Sou: (to himself) Hey… Seconds… What…

hahaha… so damn funny man… loving the drama every minute…

ahh… the two of them also solve other cases at the same time… and in episode 3… Marou’s friend/younger brother… got into some trouble and they were helping him…

Marou was with his senpai (senior) at the cafe and he got a call asking him to go some place to meet with the friend/younger brother… who is a suspect for murder… they left and got into a fight with several masked people… the two of them were losing the fight when suddenly Sou appeared…

The following conversation happened while they were fighting the masked people…

Marou: You… Why…???

Sou: I told Horikawa (the police at the cafe who is looking after the girl) to call me if you went off alone…

Marou: How did you find this place?

Sou: You drive a police car… It comes equipped with a GPS… Get it together…

Marou: Its none of your business… I’ll prove his innocence myself…

Sou: So that little brother of yours… Where is he??

Marou: That…

Sou: Didn’t this happen because you believed in him? Stupid as a monkey…

Marou: Monkeys are pretty smart animals…

Sou: Gibbon monkeys are cute but they aren’t smart…

Marou: And what about the orangutans that can count?

Sou: What about elephants that can draw with their trunks?

Marou: An elephant drawing? What does an elephant know to draw?

Sou: (with a really straight face) Self portrait…

Marou: Just because its an elephant…???

note – elephant and self portrait in Japanese sounds similar…

when they got to the monkeys topic… the masked people were already on the gound and they were like staring at Sou and Marou as they were arguing on the intelligence of monkeys…

LOL LOL LOL… so damn funny…

have to watch for yourself… very very very good…

and the last part… when they were staking… waiting for the real murderer… Sou’s mother called…

Sou: I’ll call you back…

Mother: I’ll be very fast… What colour do you like? Yellow or red?

Sou: Any…

Mother: I’m looking at pajamas and wondering which do you like…

Sou: I’ll wear any…

Mother: But if you dont like, you will not wear…

Sou: (I can’t remember what he said… but maybe either one colour or something)

Then Sou hanged up…

Marou: Who is that??? Calling you all the time…

Sou: You don’t need to know…

haha…

Ooh-ooh, just had to say this before I go, that Oguri Shun have really matured from his days in Gokusen to HanaDan to HanaKimi to Kisaragi to Binbo Danshi to Crows Zero to Tajomaru to Smile and now Tokyo Dogs…(and compare that to his younger ‘kid’ years in GTO and Summer Snow!) – he is a WOW-er!!

Detta är en av de mest välkända jdramorna som finns, det är faktiskt en riktig klassiker. Great Teacher Onizuka bjöd på många överraskningar för min del. Jag såg den på grund av en rekommendation, och hade inte kollat upp skådespelarlistan. Men en efter en dyker de upp: Matsushima Nanako (Ringu, Hana Yori Dango, Hana Yori Dango 2 Returns), Kubozuka Yosuke (Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Long Love Letter), Yamazaki Yuta (Neverland) och mini-Oguri Shun (Neighbor no. 13, Hana Yori Dango 1, 2 & final, Gokusen, Stand Up!!, Hanazakari no Kimi Tachi E och nu senast Tokyo DOGS).

Handling: Onizuka är en hårdhudad man med ett förflutet inom motorcykelgäng som drömmer om att bli lärare. När han får sitt första lärarjobb, gör han sig till ovän med hela lärarkåren på grund av sina kontroversiella lärarmetoder. Dessutom är hans tilldelade klass ett gäng bråkstakar som inte vill släppa sin nya, okvalificerade lärare inpå livet.

Kommentar: Det bör sägas – GTO är störtskön! Till skillnad från Gokusens förutsägbara moralkakor, upphör Onizuka aldrig att förvåna med sina småkåta, nonchalanta eller hårdhänta metoder. Sorimachi Takashi, som spelar Onizuka, är dessutom grymt sexig – och han vet om det, med sitt minspel och charmiga nyckfullhet. Jag tycker inte heller att GTO blivit biten av tidens tand – den är trots allt inspelad 1998, trots att jag chansade på 2003. Jag finner det intressant att tre så pass lika dramor (Gokusen, GTO och Rookies) lyckas så bra med att differentiera sig från varandra: de följer samma ganska smala koncept, och ändå kan man utan ett ögonblicks tvekan särskilja dem.

Favoritkaraktärer:
Onizuka Eikichi (Sorimachi Takashi): Det går inte att motstå denna man! Takashi kan verkligen spela alla sidor: pervers, rolig, sexig, hård, lurig, sträng och helt oförutsägbar.
Yoshikawa Noboru (Oguri Shun): I den första scen där Noboru syns blev jag alldeles till mig och fick totala spazzanfall. Så här söt kan man bara inte bli!
Kikuchi Yoshito (Kubozuke Yosuke): Först och främst är det King fast i annan tappning, men sedan har jag alltid fallit för smarta personer.

In June, it was revealed that popular actor Shun Oguri (26) is making his directorial debut with a film titled “Surely Someday.” Casting rumors have surfaced since then, but the distributor Shochiku finally announced some official details this week.

The story is loosely based on the bonds between Oguri and his friends from high school. The central cast consists of actors Keisuke Koide, Ryo Katsuji, Go Ayano, Ryohei Suzuki, and Tsuyoshi Muro. Additional cast members include Takashi Okamura (of Ninety-nine), Naoto Takenaka, Fuyuki Moto, and Satoshi Tsumabuki.

The five main characters form a band, hoping to gain popularity with their original song called “Surely Someday” at their school’s cultural festival. Unfortunately, a foolish incident results in them dropping out of school. With their lives seemingly at a dead end, they take on the challenge of trying to turn their lives around.

Filming took place in July and August, and the project is now in editing. The film should be completed by January of next year, with a nationwide theatrical release planned for the summer.

Shu! Shhuu! Shhuu! Shu! Shu! Shu! Shhuu!

These CMs have been out for a little while now but I want to talk about them! Shiseido Japan managed to kidnap Tsumabuki Satoshi, Oguri Shun, Eita & Miura Haruma for their new Uno Fog Bar range to England & shoot a series of commercials that are as amusing as they are (insanely) pretty to look at… very much to my liking xDD

i think i like this better than IRIS… but both has its different good points lah… haha…

the story revolves around Takakura Sou (Oguri Shun’s) and Kudo Maruo (Mizushima Hiro’s), detectives with the police. Sou was previously with the American police but then got kinda like fired when an operation to capture a known yakuza or gangster dealing in drugs went wrong in America, where Maruo was also present. As the operation was going on, they found Matsunaga Yuki (Yoshitaka Yuriko) who was at the scene. She apparently lost her memory. They bring her back to Japan, where Sou got hired by the chief police (or similar) of Japan, becoming Marou’s partner. Their job is to protect Yuki from being captured by the yakuza.

i would think that the whole series will concentrate on the two protecting the girl…

although there were intense situations… it was still quite hilarious as both Sou and Marou’s personality are very different… evenin terms of dressing… Sou is a no nonsence guy in a suit while Marou is a happy-go-lucky guy in casuals… even when the two are on a mission to save the girl when she got kidnapped… they were still arguing… with Sou arguing with a total straight face while Marou was the one with all the expressions…

so damn funny lah…

and there was one part where after rescuing the girl… Sou asked Marou where he was planning to bring Yuki when they got captured, Marou didn’t want to answer so another detective who was part of the team anwered and said ‘Thai restaurant…’ Sou then was like indignant asking why and what nots… Marou thought the reason was that it was dangerous and such but then Sou said: ‘Their tom yam is terrible… blah blah blah…’ Marou was like: ‘You are talking about food…???’

hahahahaha…

and Sou’s mother is so funny… always calling when he is on an investigation… hahaha…

Igazán nem szokásom már a kezdet kezdetén, egy- két rész után ismertetni, urambocsá’ ajánlani egy doramát. Nyugodtan javítson ki valaki, ha tévedek, de úgy gondolom, mindig csak a VÉGE felirat után lehet normális, egész ítéletet alkotni valamiről. Ez persze nem azt jelenti, hogy útközben egyáltalán nincs véleményem, csak tudom, előfordult már, hogy jó kezdés után förtelmes befejezés volt a néző osztályrésze. És persze ennek fordítottja is igaz.
Jelen esetben kivételt teszek, mert nem bírom ki, hogy ne osszam meg már az első benyomásaimat a nagyérdeművel. A félreértések elkerülése végett- nem azért, mert annyira elborított a gyönyörűség.

Pár héttel ezelőtt írtam már a történetről itt és mondhatom, jól be is sózott a felvezetésnek szánt kis infocsomag. Nem egyedi ötletről van szó, hiszen a zsarus- partneres- nyomozós bűnügyi sorozatok jelentős része erre a homlokegyenest ellentétes természetű tagokból álló párosításra épít, gondoljon csak az ember a Starsky&Hutch- ra vagy a Miami Vice- ra, bár utóbbinál azért túlzás lenne ennyire sarkítani. Akárhogy is, nekem mindig is bejött ez a dolog, sőt a már említetteken kívül (csak hogy kapcsolódjak a blog- tematikához is) szörnyen respektálom a tajvani Black&White című doramát, aminek egyrészt sikerült élvezetessé tennie ezt az évek során elkoptatott kliséhalmazt, másrészt meglepően kreatívan adagolta a köré épített saját történetet is, minek eredményeként erős, “excellent- 4, 5″ értékelésű cuccnak örülhettünk.
‘Emígyen’ a korábbról származó kedvező tapasztalatok, valamint a szépérzéket fokozó Oguri Shun (<3) és Mizushima Hiro (mindketten kedvelt idol- színészeim) előre garantálták az újabb, izgalmakkal teli 10- 12 hetet.

Bárcsak így lett volna… Mint általában, itt is egy órát kapott az első rész, felvázolandó az egész szituációt és megkezdendő a bonyodalmakat. Ja, teljesen oké, csakhogy ezek itt kimaradtak. Gyakorlatilag úgy gondolták a készítők, ha már ellőttük az előzményeket a kis promo- szövegben (erről írtam korábban), ne ismételgessük magunkat, csapjunk mindjárt a lecsóba. Ettől kb olyan lett az egész, mintha egyből az ötödik részt (na jó, legyen 2-3) indítottam volna el a lejátszóban.
Van ugye Sou (Oguri Shun), a New York- ból szalajtott öltönyös sztárzsaru, akit elvileg jól átvezényeltek, de később kiderül, hogy gyakorlatilag elzavartak Tokióba (azért nem mindegy ) meg Maruo (Mizushima Hiro), a laza legény, akik éppen bevetésen hajkurásszák a rosszfiúkat. Elszúrják, rossz ember kapnak el, robbanás, fejvesztett szaladgálás, aztán a semmiből felbukkan egy koktélruhás lány, aki elájul a terep közepén. Snitt. Következő kép: kórház- a lány amnéziás. Snitt. Öltönyvásárlás Sou- nak (ennek mi értelme volt…) Snitt. A két rendőr belép Sou lakásának ajtaján, ahol az amnéziás csaj éppen falpingpongozik (Eeeeh? Hát ez meg hogy került oda???). Snitt. Magyarán hemzseg az egész az irreleváns jelenetektől, a logikai bukfencektől, hiányoznak az összekötő elemek, a teljes előzménysor, minden. Ezt hogy a fenébe gondolták? O_o A partnerek csapatalkotását egy mondattal lerendezte a főnök és utána simán együtt dolgoznak, miközben a sokéves hagyományoknak megfelelően az első egy- két résznek egymás elfogadásáról kellene szólnia. 10 részben nyilván nem lehet ezt kellő alapossággal megmutogatni, de az sem megoldás, ha egyszerűen kihagyják… Hát blööö
Más- természetes, hogy próbálják oldani a hangulatot. Erre szolgálna Maruo karaktere, a lazasága, beszólásai. Vannak is ilyen elemek, CSAKHOGY…  Nincs mese, meg kell maradni ezen a humorszinten, hiszen a bűnüldözés alapvetően komoly dolog, pláne akkor, ha az egyik főhőst a bosszú hajtja. Ehhez képest a stáb szépen lebutított mindent, a teljes nyomozócsoportot, Sou családját, erőltetett és idegesítő poénokat adnak a szájukba stb. A giccs és a teátrális megnyilvánulások egy Hanakimiben vagy Mei- chan no Shitsuji- ban elfogadhatóak, de itt nem. Akárhogy is nézzük, ez nem komédia. Vagy ha az, akkor régen rossz.

Összegzésképpen: FERTELMES első rész. Becsületből és Ogushun iránti rajongásból (jó ez az öltönyös, rövid hajú style) abszolválom, ennyi. Kétlem, hogy változna a véleményem, de ha mégis, közölni fogom.

Fuji TV’s “Tokyo DOGS” starring Oguri Shun had a satisfying start this Monday. The dorama airs in the prestigious Monday-09pm (getsu9) time slot and achieved ratings of 18.7% for its first episode, the highest start of a dorama in this time slot this year.

It was a good choice for Fuji TV to go a new way for their Monday dorama. “Tokyo DOGS” is an action-comedy dorama featuring bipolar characters that make quite a rough combination and shows how they are able to settle various incidents. Oguri plays a kind of “dull” elite detective while Mizushima Hiro plays an “emotional” detective with a “one-track mind”. It’s fun to watch those two characters interact with each other and the dorama has a nice tempo in general.

Yoshitaka Yuriko plays the heroine, a woman with important informations of a big crime organization the two are chasing who unfortunately lost her memories. Other top-class actors include Miura Tomokazu who plays the boss of them and Tanako Yoshiko who plays the mother of Oguri’s character. Also appearing as colleagues are Otsuka Nene, Katsuji Ryo and Azuma Mikihisa among others. EXILE provides the theme song for the dorama.

The ratings are expected to stay at such a high level.

“Muchísimo mejor de lo que esperaba” serían las palabras que utilizaría para describir la experiencia de ver el primer capítulo de Tokyo DOGS. Todo comienza con una fallida intervención de narcotraficantes conducida por agentes especiales estadounidenses contando con la colaboración de la policía japonesa. Aquí vemos por primera vez a nuestros protagonistas. Oguri Shun como Sou y el carismático Mizushima Hiro es Maruo. En medio de todo el caos estos encuentran a una hermosa chica vagando por la escena del crimen y resulta sufrir de amnesia selectiva.

Debido al fracaso de la investigación, Sou es relevado de su puesto en la policía de NY y regresa a Japón donde se ve obligado a trabajar como compañero de Maruo y será éste el responsable de mantener a Yuki (Yoshitaka Yuriko) a salvo. Ambos son muy buenos investigadores aunque Sou es muchísimo más recto y profesional que el ex-maliente Maruo. El drama trae muchas caras conocidas y el invitado del primer capítulo no se queda atrás. Aporta mucho a esta historia que mescla la ternura de ambos personajes, un toque de comedia y una buena dosis de acción y diversión.

No saben lo feliz que me hace que un drama como este reemplace a Buzzer Beat y que permitan algo diferente en este horario de lunes a las 9PM. Aunque ROMES, drama protagonizado por Okuda Tadayoshi me ha decepcionado por completo (de eso hablaré más adelante ), he quedado completamente satisfecha con el primer capitulo de Tokyo DOGS. Seguremos hablamos de este drama cuando se emita el siguiente capítulo para ver si nos mantiene así de interesados. ¡Qué disfruten!

this file is HUGE! 2+ gb is just half of the show! i’ve been trying to dl for days, i finally got part 1 last night. seriously, not to sound ungracious, but i really wish they’d compress the file and then upload! =_=

anyways, i think this is the first time in a long time that NO ONE from JE is on! the teams are Tokyo Dogs (yayy, just read that Oguri and Mizushima garnered the best Monday 9pm ratings this year! 18.7% in Kantou, sugoi!!), Real Clothes (i watched 1st ep night before last, i think i’ll continue), Fumo jitai (yappari Koyuki-san is a bigger star than the takarazuka woman), Liar game 2 (Erika is really pretty!), and the iitomo team. The theme of this SP game show revolves around different forms of fortune telling (palm reading, face reading, astrology sign reading, titles’ number of strokes, etc.); it’s fun i think.

i’ll post a few of the screencaps when i’m done with part 2… which prolly will not be till end of this week. Maybe i’ll just post caps of part 1 first.
