Những ngôi sao Hàn ngập trong quảng cáo

Tờ Chosun Ilbo của Hàn Quốc nhận xét, các diễn viên, ca sĩ nước này đang mải mê kiếm tiền từ quảng cáo. Điển hình là mỹ nhân Kim Tae Hee. Nổi lên từ phim truyền hình Nấc thang lên thiên đường (Stairway to Heaven) năm 2003, nữ diễn viên có gương mặt trong sáng đã đánh bại đàn chị Lee Young Ae để trở thành nữ hoàng quảng cáo.

Sau phim Love In Havard (Chuyện tình Havard) năm 2004, Tae Hee biệt tăm trên màn ảnh nhỏ suốt 5 năm qua và chỉ trở lại vào tháng 9 này với Iris. Trong quãng thời gian đó, cô có hai phim điện ảnh là The Restless và Venus and Mars, nhưng nhận tới 26 hợp đồng thương mại. Các thương hiệu điện thoại Cyon, LG, Samsung, xe hơi Matiz, mỹ phẩm Ohui, máy ảnh Olympus… đã chen nhau lấy chữ ký của cô.

Các diễn viên Jang Dong Gun, Jeon Ji Hyun, Han Ga In, Han Y Seul, hay Shin Min A cũng đều đóng quảng cáo nhiều hơn đóng phim. Theo cuộc thăm dò dư luận hồi tháng 3 của hãng Leespiar, Kim Tae Hee và Jang Dong Gun là hai gương mặt được khán giả yêu thích nhất 2009, dù họ chưa có bộ phim nào mới kể từ năm 2007. Đây là kết quả gây sốc và đặt ra câu hỏi lý do nào khiến các ngôi sao được yêu thích – về bộ phim họ đóng hay, vì số lần họ xuất hiện trên màn ảnh.

Thu nhập từ quảng cáo của các diễn viên Hàn Quốc cũng là một hiện tượng đáng ngạc nhiên. Ở Mỹ, phần lớn các gương mặt quảng cáo là người mẫu chuyên nghiệp, còn thu nhập của diễn viên chủ yếu là cát-xê đóng phim. Nhưng điều này không đúng ở xứ kim chi, khi mỗi hợp đồng của các ngôi sao như Kim Tae Hee có giá hàng trăm triệu won.

Tuy nhiên, thời hoàng kim cũng nhanh chóng đi qua. Mật độ xuất hiện dày đặc trong các chương trình quảng cáo đang khiến các ngôi sao Hàn phải trả giá. Theo thống kê của hãng nghiên cứu thị trường Brand 38, khả năng thúc đẩy sức mua của Kim Tae Hee giảm từ ngôi đầu bảng năm ngoái xuống số 5 năm nay. Jeon Ji Hyun trượt từ vị trí thứ ba xuống số sáu. Giám đốc của công ty trên nhận xét: “Cách đây ba năm, những người có hình ảnh đẹp dẫn đầu về giá trị quảng cáo. Nhưng hiện nay, các diễn viên có tài bắt đầu thống lĩnh thị trường này”.

With SPF34 and PA++, this is sufficient for daily use to the office, but I’d probably still go with something with SPF50/PA+++ for a day out in the sun.

I love the clean and sleek lines of the slim white packaging of this base! Very fitting with the brand range image!

To dispense the product, you press down on the silver portion of the tube and the product comes out from the little nozzle. It is easy to control the amount of product dispensed, and you can stick the little cap back on the nozzle to keep it clean.

The colour of the base is a stark white shade, which might look scary.

The texture is quite thick and creamy so some effort is required to blend it out evenly, especially if you don’t want the white to be too overwhelming.

But once you blend everything out, the effect is instantly brightening and illuminating. There’s a subtle glow and translucent quality which just makes my skin look good. The stark white blends out nicely without leaving a overwhelmingly white cast, which is a relief. My skin also remained relatively oil-free for a longer than average amount of time, which is always a sign of a good base for me so overall, I’m really pleased with this!

[How to use]
1.Open the cap of the powder sunblock by turning coun-terclockwise and remove the transparent film on top.

2. Hold the cap and press down 3~4 times for the puff ap-plicator to collect powder.Apply evently on the entire face.

3. Gently press down with palms for a natural finish.

4. Pull out the handle at the bottom of the bottle to use the sliding mirror.

5. Close the cap of the powder sunblock by turning clock-wise.

6. Use after applying basic makeup and foundation or make-up base. Pump an adequate amount onto your palm and apply evently over the face.

I absolutely hate Europeans sun-care products, using european sun-care products created this sunblock phobia , and made me dread putting on sunblock. It was due to it’s greasy, oily, uncomfortable texture that i absolutely loathe. From La Roche Posay, to Avene, to Bioderma etc – i never really liked a single one – and even those sunscreen which claims to be made for ‘oily combination’ skin were so greasy and uncomfortable to wear. Korean sun-care products are definitely one of the best around – and those who are raving over the european and american sunscreens won’t know what’s the gold standards of sunscreens until they’ve tried sunscreens from the OHUI or HERA sun line.

This sunblock is suitable for those with sensitive skin and for those who gets sunburn easily under the sun. Enriched with Provitamin B5 also known as Panththenic Acid or Panthenol, this provitamin is transformed into vitamin B5, which has a natural broad ability to moisturize, soothe, heal and regenerate the skin.

This sunblock is for those who are scared of becoming darker under the sun. They are also for those who suffer from hyperpigmentation from overexposure from the sun, and for those who wants to prevent pigmentation. Like the Red version, this one also contains SPF 50+.

3. OHUI Sun Science  Daily Sunblock 365 SPF30 PA ++데일리 선블록 365

This is a suitable sunscreen for daily use, if you are not exposed to direct sunlight and if spend more time in the office or home (interior) during the day.

4. OHUI Sun Science Whitening Sunblock SPF 45 PA +++ 화이트닝 선블록

Contains whitening ingredients such as Pearls that help illuminate the skin tone.

Texture is the liquid runny type, and not the cream type.

Keep in mind that OHUI has another Whitening Sunblock which will be introduced below.

5. OHUI Sun Science Luminous Whitening Sunblock SPF 45 PA +++  화이트닝 선블록

Don’t ask me why they have two of these, but my guess is that this is the upgraded version of it. They both have different packaging.

This sunblock has dual functions to protect the skin against UV rays and brightens it. It goes on lightly without stickiness and provides instant smoothness and suppleness to the skin without causing the heavy and thick after-feel. Fine luminous pearls instantly brightens up the skin tone. SHAKE BEFORE USE!

Like the Whitening Sunblock on top, this one has a liquid runny texture, and has a powdery finish ( like the Whoo old whitening cream), so if you like that sort of finish, give this a trrry!

See the two spirals? They are actually two compartments that consists of a suncreen, and BB Cream! It also contains fine pearl particles to brighten up the skintone!

Another less expensive option the the LG CathyCat’s Blemish Balm SPF 50+. Same concept, different pricing!  

8. OHUI Sun Science Smart Cover Sunblock SPF 50 스마트 커버 선블록

This is a new product that was just released last week. The packaging is a first of it’s kind – we’re still not so sure how it works, but this is sort of a sunblock + foundation. Basically the sunblock comes in 2 parts – a foundation and the sponge. It helps cover up blemishes without drying them out. The Smart Cover Sunblock has excellent water retention capacity, and avoids drying up the skin from excessive sun heat. The packaging features an airless-type of packaging to ensure hygiene and minimize waste of product ( because you only press when you need it)!

When you press a button on the bottle, foundation oozes out, and then mix the foundation together with the sponge to apply it on your face.

It comes in 2 colors.

Two of Korea’s largest Cosmetics company have always been head-on competition with each other.

Let’s go through the rundown on both companies.

Round 1 : Sulwhasoo VS History Of Whoo

Round 2 : IOPE VS OHUI

Both focuses more on the ‘western’ and modern cosmetic aspect and technology , and ‘cell’ science. OHUI is exceptional in the Stem Cells department.

Round 3 : Hanule/Hanyul VS Sooryehan

If Sulwhasoo and History are for Queens, Hannule ( Amore ) and Sooryehan ( LG ) are for princesses. Aimed at a younger age group, both brands also focuses on chinese/korean medicine.

Round 4 : HERA VS ISA KNOX

HERA is more well known for their make up products while ISA KNOX is a pioneer in the skincare section. Isa Knox is also one of LG’s earliest brands that exist to this day. Both brands have an elder age group focus. Isa Knox’s spokesperson, Lee Hyori, is Korea’s most famous female singer ever and they even managed to rope in Hollywood Jessica Alba as a spokesperson.

Round 5 : ETUDE HOUSE VS LACVERT

Both are brands that cater to young girls. Etude House has more selection when it comes to make-up.  Both uses famous idols.

Round 6 : Primera VS Belif

Both brands are based on the naturalism, organic and natural concept.

Round 7 : Innisfree/Mamonde VS The Face Shop

Here you have 3 brands that are also catered to teenagers to young adults. Innisfree also claims to be an all natural brand and both brand uses the most famous Korean teen idols today. These 3 brands are also lower-end brands.

Round 8 : Mirepa VS Vonin

Both are brands for men though Vonin is a lot more famous than Amore’s Mirepa. I personally love both the male spokesperson for these two brands. Hehe..

Round 9 : Hyosia VS Su:m 37

Both brands are based on fermentation science. Have

not managed to get any information regarding Hyo Sia, but LG has done a stellar job on Su-m 37’s marketing as it has managed to become a famous brand in such a short span of time and Amore’s Hyosia is still… unknown.

Round 9 : Ryoe VS  Re-En

Amore’s Ryoe and LG’s ReEn are battling it out too for the personal care market. Both brands are herbal oriental hair care!

First up is Sooryehan, a mid-range brand which can be found both at select DFS counters and also drugstores. I bought 3 base makeup items from Olive Young which was running a discount on most Sooryehan products, and the Whitening set from Beaute store in Myeongdong.

The Sooryehan Bichaek Whitening set was a pretty good buy as Beaute was running a 30% discount on the entire set. I was also sucked in by the lovely packaging.

I’m always on the look out for sun protection products, so I picked up Sooryehan’s Bichaek  Sun Block Cream (white box). I also picked up Sooryehan Onbit Essence Foundation (top left) and Sooryehan Onbit Cover Make-up (bottom left) as they came in a shade 25, which is quite unusual for Korean brands which usually have only shades 21, 23.

I had a CP request for Ohui’s bestselling Cell Power No.1 Serum so off I went to Lotte DFS store to pick it up. They had a special set with one full-size product and one refill set, which looked like a pretty good deal so I got that.

The History of Whoo counter was right next to Ohui and while waiting for the SA to process my details for the duty free price, I decided to splurge and get the Whitening Sun BB even though it was so expensive I’d originally put it on my back-up shopping list. Good thing I got a discount on purchases at Lotte DFS by using my Visa Platinum Credit Card. lol..

Finally, the single largest purchase of my entire trip, in terms of value – Su:M 37 Set which came with the Water-full Gel Cream, Water-full Skin Refresher, Water-full Rebalancing Gel Lotion and their highly-raved Secret Programming Essence. For the uninitiated, Su:m37 is a high-end counter fermentation brand. Their star product – the Secret Programming Essence has been compared to SKII’s Facial Treatment Essence, and truth be told, they’re in a similar price range – just to give you an idea.

I had a CP request for the Water-full products, so when I saw the set available at JDC Duty Free at Jeju Airport, I decided to grab it since it came with a good discount and I had wanted to try the Secret Programming Essence anyway. The set allowed me to fulfill both my CP request and get a product I’d wanted to try at a discounted price. Win-win situation!!

Sorry to say after these big-ticket items, my wallet was reeling from “blood loss” and I’d gotten most of my shopping list so I was happy to spend the rest of my money on food. Those who follow me on Instagram can attest to the flooding of my timeline with delicious Korean food.. lol..

I had an awesome time in Korea this year, and spending time in gorgeous Jeju made this year’s trip even more special. I’d definitely recommend visiting Seoul and Jeju to anyone who’s even remotely interested. The culture, food, shopping and sights are simply amazing!
