Major Lazer – Mishka’s Keep Watch Vol. X

Here we are again ! This month I was very busy with working, and in June I was preparing myself for my exams. But as you can see, I’m back. In the meantime I’ve visited our Belgian free festival Rock Herk. Where I have seen and heard Mixhell, D.I.M., Autokratz, Hadouken and Feadz. Especially these last two persons amazed me. Feadz already convinced me of his skills during other festivals, but Hadouken blew me literally away. The day after his performance my ears still didn’t recover of their bassline.

In August I’ll be attending Pukkelpop (3 days long!). These are some names i surely wanna hear: Busy P, Crookers (already heard on pp 2008), La Riots (I missed them everywhere), The Subs, Booka Shade (saw them already on PP), Dr. Lektroluv (a new tracklist for the festivals, I’m curious what he’s going to drop on the turntables), Sound of Stereo (missed them on Rock Herk), Vitalic (first time on PP, I think!), MSTRKRFT (*drewl*), Birdy Nam Nam (I’ve heard they were really good during Polsslag), The Count & Sinden, Fake Blood, Partyharders Squad (missed their good performance on Rock Herk), Congorock, Tocadisco (loved his set one year ago), Martin Solveig (not a real fan of him on festivals, but who knows), The Glimmers, Shadow Dancer (really excited to hear em), Nid & Sancy (from punk till electro, what an evolution), Don Rimini, Yuksek, Merdan Taplak, Aeroplane, Waxdolls, Kissy Sell Out, and some others like 50Cent and his bling bling.

And last but not least, I’ve made a lil mix for you guys. Duration approx. 45 minutes.

personally i never took a fancy to tigas original shoes post.  truth be told, i don’t really like any of his new stuff =s.  don’t get me wrong i love tiga, his old albums were what brought me onto electro.  but this new stuff is a little too homoerotica for me.

did anyone else feel this way about shoes???  anywho i really liked this rework though.  almost positive you will too. and if you don’t know who mr.oizo is… do some research this guy will blow your mind.

Polsslag Line Up

Okay I admit, we didn’t stay until upper queer Tiga started his set. Tiga is a great producer, but we don’t like him that much as a dj. No hard -euh- feelings though.

Anyhow, Polsslag was pretty convincing with Mr. Oizo & SebastiAn spinning the decks, followed by Crookers & Tiga. Fake Blood was pretty fake indeed, playing rather boring tracks, but he did manage to get the (easy and very young) crowd moving. So maybe it’s just me.

Yes! SebastiAn finally revealed some new and fresh tracks in his set (thank god!), but selected at least 6 or 7 songs Mr. Oizo played just 15 min before him. Rather weird when you’re almost touring together. He did end with his selfmade edit of RATM…and that’s a classic already.

Jest zajebiście dużo muzyki, o której mógłbym napisac, ale skupię się na jedynm z moich ulubionych gatunków – Francuskim electro. Tylko i wyłącznie francuskim, bo z niewielkimi wyjątkami (Brytyjski Viyalic) “dzieła” reprezentantów innych narodów to zwyczajna, psia, cuchnąca kupa, której nie znoszę. Zaczynając od podstaw: był sobie kiedyś duet robotów-punków… Mam nadzieję, że nie muszę Ci ich przedstawiać – Daft Punk zna chyba każdy, ale nieliczni z nich oparli się magii Francuzów. Daft Punk to przede wszystkim coś w nowego, również i teraz. Jest to muzyka na tyle eksperymentalna i nietypowa i jednocześnie na tyle popowa, że ta, zdawało by się, niecodzienna mieszanka nie przypadkiem ludziom do gustu. A jednak – “french touch”, jak zwykło się nazywać od 1997 roku Paryską scenę House zebrał sobie wielu fanów, napędzając to coraz kolejnych przedstawicieli tego podgatunku. Nikt z nich nie zdobył jednak AŻ takiej popularności jak Roboty. Nadszedł jednak rok 2005 i nastąpił renesans French Touche. Z szeregu mało popularnych producentów wystąpił kolejny, paryski duet – moi ukochani, przewspaniali, cudni Justice. Wyróżnili się świetnym remixem Simian – We Are Your Friends (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zo1-XlazvY ). Kapitalna linia basu spowodowała, że od razu ich pokochałem. Długo przystało nam jednak czekać na ich kolejny kawałek – po kilku bardziej, lub mniej udanych remixach wyskoczyli z Waters of Nazareth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqJu_3CPhC4 ) – cholera, ale to ma moc! Wtedy było już wiadomo, że Wielki Krzyż (bo takie logo obrał sobie duecik) będzie murowanym hitem! Nie popełniono błędu – niedługo po WoN wyszedł ich kolejny singiel – D.A.N.C.E. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxP5YrpdQXU ). Jeżeli mam być szczery, to tak skocznej, melodyjnej, tanecznej, zajebistej melodii jeszce nie słyszałem. IMO jet to ewenement muzyki tanecznej – po tych kilku latach od wydania DANCE, puszczanie jej w zachodnich klubach to już lekka wioska – tak mocno wyeksploatowany został utwór (oczywiście u nas wolą puszczać East Shitters czy inne kani-ku*wa-kuły :/). Piosenką byłem od samego początku zauroczony, które to zauroczenie po wydaniu pierwszego albumu Justice – Cross przeszło w miłość. Ci faceci są niesamowici – wydali dwa, całkiem skoczne single, jeden bardziej neutralniejszy. W albumie od razu atakują nas mrokiem, niepokojem i czernią – Genesis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThKNt-GY1ww ), utwór całkowicie epicki jest w moim prywatnym top 10. Kolejny, po DANCE, muzyczny cud świata. Dalej już z górki – potańcówkowy “Ttthee Paarty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbN5B93mpFE ) z, ponownie, masakryczną linią melodyczną basu, niezły Newjack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfDQg2dF8uw ) i wiele, wiele innych, mistrzowskich jednym słowem kawałków. IMO Justice zmasakrowali po prostu wszystko co do tej pory słyszałem (ok, poza Kyussem ). Linki do kawałków właściwie zamieściłem w tekście, nie ma sensu ich powtarzać, dodam więc tutaj tylko link do Planisphere – kilkunastominutowa symfonia barokowych dźwięków podzielona na 4 części. Tak można skrócić opis Planisphere, żeby jednak w pełni przekonać się o czym piszę, TRZEBA tego posłuchać. Z całego Plani najbardziej reprezentatywną jest chyba częśc 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8dmytVgbCU ), finał (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW11wER285Y&feature=related ) natomiast poszczycić się może wspaniałym, czterominutowym solo gitarowym. I owszem, może to być przydługawe, nudne itp., ale dla mnie jest to przede wszystkim coś co uwielbiam, i ciężko by mi było bez tego żyć (o ile w ogóle by się dało). To tak po krótce Na temat Daft Punk/Justice mógłbym rozwodzić się całymi dniami, a tak polecić mogę jeszcze całą ekipę Ed Banger Records (Mr. Oizo, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, Kavinsky). Miłego czytania ]:>
