All Aboard the Polar Express @ Your Library!

To welcome in the holiday season, the Public Library of Enid & Garfield County will be having a First Friday Polar Express Party!  Stop by the Library on December 4^th from 6-9 p.m. for Christmas carols sung by McKinley and Taft Elementary choirs, cookie decorating, ornament making, and more for the whole family!  Includes a visit from Jolly Ol’ St. Nick himself. 

Friends of the Library BOOK SALE

The Friends are having a holiday book sale in the Great Plains Room on December 3-5, 2009.  Thursday night from 6-8:30 is Preview Night for members only.  Membership is $10.00.  Friday the sale is open from 10-8, so you can shop while also attending our First Friday event that evening.  Saturday is All You Can Fit in a Grocery Sack for $1.00 from 10-4.

Craft Corner

Stop by the Library on Wednesday, December 9th @ 7:00 p.m. for a class in Holiday Fascinators & Feathers.  What’s a fascinator?  It’s a festive hair ornament that’s more than barrette, and a little less than a hat.  They’re back in style, and we’re showing you how to make one to wear for holiday party-going!  We are also offering a Basic Jewelry Making: Earrings class on Thursday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m. Learn a few new skills & make a beautiful pair of handmade earrings!  All of the supplies are provided for you to create a small piece of wearable art.

The Case for Santa Claus—MAD SCIENTIST

The Mad Scientist will be at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center on Monday December 21st at 3:30 p.m.  Mark your calendars for this free program. Learn how reindeers fly, how Santa comes down the chimney, and see many more fun experiments as he explains the scientific mysteries of Santa and makes the case for Santa Claus.  For children of all ages.

As I cruised down I-35 on my latest trip, I was getting hungry. I pulled off at Pauls Valley with the intention of grabbing a burger and pressing south, but I saw a big “BBQ” sign on a former Braum’s building, and decided to check that place out instead.

This place was pretty darn good. I ordered a two-meat with chicken and brisket. There was enough there to feed two people, or three if it was me, Raegan, and Erin.

The brisket was really tender. It was a little fatty, but not too much. There was really nice flavor to it. There was a LOT of it.

The chicken was huge! It was a full half chicken, truly smoked, and good!

I had slaw (creamy, not vinegar), and pintos, kind of sweet, both really good, and in good quantity.

Stevenson’s had mild and hot sauces. Both were thin. The mild had a taste I could not place. It was not overly flavorful. The hot was not immediately hot, but had an “aftertaste” that was more spicy. Not too much to detract from the food. I tried the two mixed 50%, and it was just odd. So I would recommend using just the hot to enhance the flavor of the meat. It was especially good on the chicken.

The tea was OK. There was a very slight odd taste to it, but it was also really hot since it had just been made. I drank the first glass of it straight, but the second glass went about 80% unsweetened, then about 5% sweet, then the rest unsweetened, and that was really good. On the way out, I got a DP, and it had the same slight odd taste! I think that it was the water in the place, maybe Pauls Valley did funny things in the water treatment plant.

My check was $14.65. A little high for one, but for a two-meat that was big enough for 2-1/2 people, not bad.

So… I just got done watching the TVN news Blackbox story about JaeBeom not too long ago.

First of all, thank you time2sub3 peeps for subbing! <3

But… I really appreciate the report. They cleared up a lot of things that I’m sure a good deal of fans didn’t know much about.

And it was nice getting the info from people who currently interact with Jay.

But I do wanna rant/talk a bit about one thing that’s been bugging me.

It’s hard for me to believe that the whole JaeBeom controversy is STILL going pretty strong even after 3 months.

And I keep hearing how Hottests want to keep up the same spirit for Jay so he’s not forgotten. :/

Do the Hottests have such little faith in themselves that they think they’ll forget about Jay so easily? And if you’re worried about non-Hottests forgetting about Jay, then just forget it. After 3 months, they’re done and past Jay being gone whether we create more attention towards it or not. If anything they’ll get annoyed by it all and give up 2PM all together.

That’s not something I want to happen…

But we all want JaeBeom back, right? Now think about this… If you were put in the situation Jay was in… where you were driven out of the country by hate and threats…

Would you want to go back when the attention is STILL so strongly on you? Or would you want to wait until people have “moved” onto something else so you can feel relaxed? Would you rather feel like you can, as comfortably as possible under the circumstances, return and get back into your old routine or would you prefer to deal with everyone still staring at you with you still up on the same pedestal you’ve been on since you left?

I can’t even imagine the pressure that Jay STILL must be feeling after 3 long months. Pressure that some Hottests are putting on him to return… While people are still paying so much attention to his life & his situation.

I couldn’t make a decision very well under those conditions. I would need to feel relaxed and like I have all the say…

Everyone wants to keep all this talk of JaeBeom alive so he’s not forgotten…

I think the best chance we have of Jay returning is if we do what we can to distract others from the whole controversy and let it fade and become much less important.

Hottests can keep showing their love for Jay! I’m not saying that we should give up on Jay~

But the whole talk of how he currently feels about the comments and so on just keeps coming back up and starting up more people on it to the point where it’s just going to keep going & going. :/

Let’s keep showing our love & support for 2PM and JaeBeom and make sure JYPE knows that we WANT Jay back!!

And still work on dimming down the controversy that still surrounds 2PM, JYPE, and Jay Park… It needs to end.

:/ I feel like it’s the only way to get Jay back properly.

Imam Al Gazali mendefinisikan akhlak sebagai berikut :

الأخلاق هي صفة راسخة فى القلب تصدرعن أفعال بسهولة وتسير من غير حاجة الا فكر ورئية.

Akhlak ialah sifat-sifat yang tertanam dalam jiwa yang menimbulkan segala perbuatan dengan mudah dan gampang tanpa memerlukan pikiran dan pertimbangan.

I am thankful for the fact that two of my good friends from home came all the way from other, distant East Coast locations to spend Thanksgiving break with me and each other.

I am thankful that both of them snore–it’s a comforting sound right now.

I am thankful for my roommate who puts up with their snoring.

I am thankful that my English teacher pushed back the due date for the first draft of the final paper by two days, which, if I work really hard for two days, means I have no real work to do during break at all.

I am thankful for the people who left behind some stuff to cook with in the kitchen

I am thankful for digital cameras because they allowed me to record the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I am thankful that I was raised in San Francisco and went to the high school I went to and did the programs I did because I am able to think critically about the fact that minor celebrities are placed on top of commercial parade floats (like Energizer) for a reason.

I am thankful for scholarships.

I am thankful for C.’s gentle*manliness*. Because you don’t have to be rude to be manly.

I am thankful for subway maps and Post-its because they helped me plan out visually what to do with the two visiting letters of C.A.L.

I am thankful that my mom hasn’t bothered me every day this week. No offense, mom.

I am thankful for Rachel because she is awesome and knows a lot about New York and helped me locate the Nice Green Bo restaurant because she remembered what street it was on when I didn’t. And because she was really sweet to my New-York-weirded-out friends.

I am thankful for my ability to put together a creative writing application in a day.

I am thankful for Westside Market and their rotisserie chicken that they didn’t run out of despite the fact that it’s the holidays.

I am grateful for $8.25 all-day MTA passes–now I know there’s an easier way to get back to campus when I’m too lazy to walk from 6 blocks away.

But most of all, I am thankful for life’s ability to make things work out well. If that means there’s some god or another out there taking care of it, then so be it, and if not, then I will just celebrate the greatness of life itself.

Yours truly just got used to being termed the bad person. All just because I think of things from a different perspective, just because I do not feel like how most people will, just because I do not sympathize or give attention to those whom I think do not deserve it, just because I am brutally honest to certain subjects or people, just because I do not believe in comforting people who are crying, just because I hate people who cry, just because I detest people who get nervous easily, just because I abhor stupidity, just because I dislike people who worry too much, just because I always transmit whatever I had written above into spoken words most of the time…

I am the bad person. I am perfectly fine with that, because I know that, that is what defines me as Timothy instead of the rest of the fake little dwarfs with no personalities (with the exception of those who really are angelic souls like Mother Theresa, probably only 1 out of a billion) out there.

Somewhere in my mind, I know that it is OK to be different.It is not a crime to stand out.
