Can someone explain why the duckface twins  have made millions and millions of dollars through fashion design?  They always look a complete mess!

This picture is a perfect example of how they never wear the clothes – the clothes wear them.  They swamp their teeny tiny frames with layer upon layer, wear shoes that are too big for them and what is up with those bags?  They look like the sort of thing you see dads carrying on their daily commute to the city.

I don’t mind Ashley (left) so much but Mary-Kate is a repeat fashion offender in my book and always looks like she needs to scrub her face and start again with the makeup.  That lipstick isn’t doing much for her.  And I won’t even mention the hat.

Who would seriously take style tips from these two?

Un autunno da ricordare, e finalmente…ormai eravamo disabituati a questa mezza stagione, almeno da qualche anno . Autunno 2009 ci ha rammentato il rosso, l’arancione e il giallo, le foglie che cadono e le temperature piacevoli sfumate al caldo. Se questo è poco visibile nella lussureggiante liguria, dove giornate cristalline hanno abbagliato con una luce sfrontata, gli alberi verdeggianti e il mare turchese, i recenti giorni passati a Torino, mi hanno riportato indietro con gli anni.  Ai caldi disegni dell’infanzia, quelli sull’autunno, quando si portavano a scuola le foglie palmate di platano, e si coloravano gli alberi arancioni con le tremolanti foglioline al vento.

L’autunno è la mia stagione preferita, non solo perchè ci sono nata, ma anche perchè fisicamente mi fa stare bene. Odio il soffocante caldo estivo, mi fa innervosire e sudare troppo, e poi l’autunno mi ricorda l’inizio della scuola, i quaderni nuovi, l’odore delle penne, della gomma pane e poi a me la scuola è sempre piaciuta!

Ancora adesso ricordo bellissime giornate autunnali, e recentemente, cioè venerdì scorso, un’altra goduriosa giornata di novembre, certo solo per me. Mattino in biblioteca! Pesca ottima, tre prede su tre, non è facile trovare tutto ciò che cerchi, specie alla Civica, ma venerdì la fortuna era dalla mia, così ho trovato tutti e tre i libri che cercavo. Dopo lo studio, in compagnia dei miei amori, pranzo da Olsen…my god! Quell’atmosfera da Mary Poppins, nel localino con i tavolini di marmo, e le succulente torte con cioccolato, nocciole, frutti di bosco, caramello…Digestione lungo le vie del centro e poi ancora libri…e poi i marron glacee, la caccia ai profumi d’incenso e in serata la cena da amici…Che dire?

Anche il viaggio di ritorno è stato splendido, tra i torrenti e le serpeggianti curve della Torino- Savona. Lì le campagne erano infiammate, chiazze di rosso e giallo ovunque, a perdita d’occhio sottolineando sotto al cielo velato, quanto possa esser colmo di bellezza l’autunno.

Semana passada eu estava na loucura de SP, passeando pela Av. Paulista e tomando Starbucks com o Uriel ( the best guia turistico ever), ai fomos em uma livraria dar um look nas news da literatura e cultura geral, ate que vemos o livro dos sonhos (que nos super queremos e voces ja devem ter visto por ai), do Terry Richardson,  a capa ja e provocativa e hilaria, ele nu, simples assim!

Terry Richardson e um super/mega fotografo americano, ele fotografa  de uma forma engraçada, provocativa, um pouco suja (?) , total sem glamour,o que acaba mostrando um glamour diferente, que nao estamos acostumados a ver nos editoriais de moda ,Terry nao esta nem ai para as pieguices do mundo, ele  me lembra ate um pouco o humor do Nelson Rodrigues (adoroo), realista, sujo, canalha, irreverente, ou seja, suas fotos mostram as coisas como sao. E mesmo assim, sem luxo,ele conquistou o mundo com a realidade fotografada, ja fez campanhas para grandes marcas como Chloe, Miu Miu, Gucci, entre outras. Ha algum tempo  Terry esteve no Brasyl, e relatou em um livro a sua vinda pra ca.

What do these following following people have in common? Miley. Lindsey Lohan. Bradgelina. Kate and John Gosselin. The Olsen twins. Britney Spears. Yep, that’s right…we all know them and the paparazzi follow them like hounds after poor bunnies.

Why do we make such a big deal out of these stars? Apart from the movies, the TV shows, sitcoms, platinum albums, and of course, “ka-ching” they’re pretty much like us. Except, they go through all the drama. Just to name a couple: exclusive, HUGE weddings, followed by headlining divorces, booze and binge runs, rehab (again), and of course, breakups, make-ups, and make-outs. And all this time, we (the normal, average Americans) gobble this tabloid news like it’s our last meal.

But in reality, these stars aren’t so starry. Miley went through that magazine controversy. Bradgelina versus Jen…wow. Olsen twins went from Full House cuties to black- clad Goths. Lindsey and Britney? Don’t even get me started. And, oh yeah, the current news: John and Kate Gosselin file for divorce. Life truly is starry for these stars. Trust me, the only starry thing for them is the bright flash of the paparazzi’s cameras.

In reality, celebrities are just lucky people who went through some auditions and got in. So yeah, even if they do rule society, they’re pretty much like us. They have families. They get bad hair days. They love Starbucks. And they actually do have to work out to get those amazing bodies.

So don’t feel bad if you don’t have any of the following: 1. agent   2. manager   3. millions of adoring fans   4. private jet/helicopter/limo   5. $$$$$$

Ahh o verão! Dizem que é a estação da perdi…ok! vou parar por aqui! haha

Já estamos na primavera, o verão está a caminho, então nada mais justo do que falar de algo que é a CARA dessa estação há anos:  Havaianas.

Aqui no Brasil, elas são muito usadas, mas em ocasiões bem informais, como ir à praia ou piscina, ir até a esquina comprar pão, ficar em casa. Essa realidade é bem diferente em outros paises. Lá fora, principalmente nos EUA, essas sandálias são uma verdadeira febre. Atrizes e cantoras ricas e famosas usam sem parar e cada vez mais.

A combinação das Havaianas com looks mais elaborados (não formais), pode ser bem interessante.

Agora estão todos falando sobre como o óculos redondo vai ser hit de verão. Eu, particularmente, prefiro os quadrados mas dependendo do modelo da para adotar. Lembram de quando a Olsen twin fez o estilo John Lennon no meio do ano super `a frente das tendências? Com o rosto pequeno dela deu super certo e virou bafo!

Que vous dire de plus sur Another Magazine que vous ne saviez déjà ? Une soirée super hype pendant la fashion week avec le gratin de la mode mondiale au Palais de Tokyo. Un bi-annuel plutôt discret qui se vend en ce moment à Paris chez Colette. Mais surtout une série de photos événement intitulée « 10 ans de style » avec une brochette d’icônes mode ou wanabees revisitée par nos plus belles enseignes.

Voici un échantillon d’une décennie de style, classé avec la plus grande subjectivité. Je n’en montrerai pas plus, allez acheter le magazine.

La plus significative

Etait attendu bien évidemment les jumelles Olsen qui, reconverties modeuses depuis le lancement de la marque Olsen (au Printemps à Paris depuis cet été), s’affichent en Calvin Klein sur une double page, mais posant séparément. Bien qu’elles rejoignent conjointement le cercle très fermée des créateurs de mode américainne le 21 octobre prochain, les sœurs Olsen nous démontrent une fois de plus la particularité de leur ressemblance car pour un même magazine, un même créateur et une même plastique (pas étonnant pour des jumelles) les styles divergent. Certains leurs prêtaient alors des rôles, jurant que le duo repose sur un équilibre entre le business (incarné par la sérieuse Ashley) et l’image (de la stylée Mary-Kate), qui serait aujourd’hui la clé du succès de la reconversion des sœurs Olsen.

La plus symbolique

Une autre icône s’est glissée dans ce dernier numéro de Another Magazine et pas des moindre : notre Anna Wintour nationale, Carine Roitfeld, de  moins en moins discrète. Vue dernièrement à 7 à 8, Carine Roitfeld était de tout les défilés et nous livre en exclu son analyse des collections Printemps / Eté 2010 sur son blog le vogue.fr.

Forcément, pour le magazine, aucune fausse note. Carine a 55 ans et pourtant continue de s’imposer en Martin Margiela avec autant de Glamour. Initiatrice de tendances, elle marque à tout jamais la collection Automne / Hiver 2009 en reprenant ses principaux hits : le léopard et les cuissardes et prend la pose comme peu de rédactrices de mode savent le faire. Mais ne l’oublions pas, avant d’être propulsée à la tête du Vogue français, Carine jouait déjà dans la cour des grandes car en plus d’avoir été mannequin à ses heures perdues elle a été pendant la période Gucci / YSL la muse de Tom Ford, rien que ça.

La plus mélancolique

Après ces trois featurings de taille l’édition Automne / Hiver 2009 de Another Magazine gagnait déjà à être classé dans les indispensables de la presse papier. Ce qui le rend culte, c’est d’avoir su jouer avec des icônes moins évidentes pour les transformer en vraies princesses de mode. A commencer par Michelle Williams, angélique en Louis Vuitton. Contrastant avec la typologie noir et blanc du magazine, elle illumine tel un ange auréolé, triste sort qu’on lui a attribué depuis la mort d’Heath Ledger.

La plus controversée

De même, la cover girl du magazine n’est autre que Natalie Portman, en Lanvin. Une photo d’une extrême simplicité mais d’une grande efficacité, qui soulève quelques questions existentielles : Comment une défenseuse de l’environnement qui a lancé sa marque de chaussures bio peut-elle s’habiller avec des vêtements d’une marque qui utilise la fourrure d’embryon de moutons ? La mode est parfois plus forte que la controverse.

La plus historique

Voir Vanessa Paradis en Chanel Haute Couture était presque comme immortaliser les retrouvailles de deux amies éloignées, réunies pour une occasion bien particulière. Souvenez-vous, Vanessa Paradis c’était Coco Chanel, cet oiseau qui sifflait en se balançant dans une cage avec un flacon de Coco. Tellement vintage qu’on aurait envie de la revoir comme on écouterait un bon vinyle de groupes de rock défunts.

La plus surprenante

Et pour terminer, la plus surprenante collaboration de ces 10 ans de style restera pour moi la sublime Blake Lively en Ralph Lauren. Notre Serena Van Der Woodsen un peu conne du trop célèbre Gossip Girl nous montre cette fois qu’elle peut être autre chose qu’une spoiled bitch refoulée et envoie au placard ses copines Taylor, la punkette et Leighton, trop simple pour la dernière couverture de Cosmo. Et plutôt deux fois qu’une, le message de Blake est clair, pour Another Magazine elle nous affirme que la vraie icône de Gossip Girl, c’est elle.

Get that faux fur from the back of your closets out because you’ll be lusting it for these colder months. I’ve always thought of fur as glamorous old hollywood and really classic so im excited to incorporate it in some outfits. Obviously I promote the “Faux” kind but just make sure that it doesn’t look cheap and feel like a stuffed animal ( you know what I mean). Long coats look amazing with some thigh high boots and jeans. You can do like a shorter cape like fur jacket which is totally feminine. Or go for a fur vest which are really getting popular. The good thing is you can usually find the vest and short jacket ones for not too expensive. But coats can get a lil pricier, see if your GMa has a old faux fur jacket in her closet ( bet she does). I got an amazing black one from my grandma and my aunt gave me a vintage short one that I also love. When you put it on you instantly feel feminine and classy. Here’s the inspiration:

Sei que o videozinho pode até ser antiiigo…Mas é que eu só achei agora e adorei de verdade!
Mas como vocês poderão ver, os look’s apresentados desse commercial (que parece ser ainda do finalzinho de 2007) da ”The Row”, segunda marca das gêmeas Olsen e xodózinho quase que particular de Ashley, são atemporais e básicos, além de extremamente versáteis. Nele podemos observar bem o tal do ”DNA da marca”, além de muito do estilo das Olsen, que são bem ”enriquecedoras do básico”, além da sofisticação e do bom ”faro fashion” das duas.
