You probably know by this point, how much I love The Wire. It was dark, depressing at times and one of the finest television series I have ever seen. If you were a fan of Homicide and Hill Street Blues, you have to watch it. I have a friend who says it’s so good that you have to watch the entire 5 seasons once a year.

Michael K. Williams(Omar), discusses the role of Omar, The Road and shares how he was broke and living in the projects during the first two seasons of  The Wire:

“But he never made much money, and was intermittently homeless. That’s when he was arrested stealing cars. “I thought I was gonna die soon,” says Williams. “My mother had taken out extra life insurance. She was like, ‘You ain’t gonna stick me with no bill, you feel me?’

Regularmente cuando alguien habla de Uruguay, con prisa salen temas como La Rambla, el clima tan variable, el asado y el mercado del puerto. Yo en cambio al pensar en Uruguay, lo primero que viene a mi mente, es la “18 de julio”. El motivo es sencillo, mis dos primeros viajes a Uruguay los hice solo y venía a un seminario, no a trabajar a oficinas, por lo que no existía gente que me pudiera decir que lugares debería de visitar y como el hotel quedaba frente a la plaza independencia, lo que hacía a diario era caminar de la mencionada plaza, por toda la 18, tratando de que las imágenes quedaran grabadas en mi mente.

Hoy por la mañana decidí ir a comprar unos libros y si bien últimamente noto que los centros comerciales están más llenos de gente que antes (puede ser solo cuestión de una mala percepción) con librerías “modernas”, el lugar para dichas compras tenía que ser, si, adivinaron, en la 18, por lo que le pedí al taxista que me llevara a la plaza libertad (Montevideo está lleno de plazas) con la intención de caminar por la, para mí, tan apreciada avenida.

Siempre he aceptado que soy un mal turista. Hoy al entrar a la primera librería, me quede impresionado por su tamaño y la cantidad de títulos que tenían, todo un sector de libros usados, lo de más tapizado de libros nuevos e incluso una sección que estaba protegida por vidrio de lo que entendí, eran clásicos de colección y cuando quise tomar la foto respectiva, salió el tan detestable e inoportuno mensaje de “Batería baja”, lógicamente me moleste porque era una imagen que considero que vale la pena compartir. Estuve alrededor de hora y media en el lugar y fue demasiado lo que no pude ver, me entretuve sobre todo en la sección de usados, pero al no conocer muchos nombres de autores, tenía que estar peleando contra la indecisión. Al final compre tres libros usados , “Eugenie Grandet” y “Papá Goriot” de Honoré de Balzac y Espíritus Rebeldes de Khalil Gibrán y compré nuevo “El día que Nietzsche lloró” de Irvin D. Yalom, y entre todos gaste menos de lo que cuesta este último en  Guatemala, según me comento un amigo.

Al salir de ahí, empecé mi obligada caminata por la 18, con toda la intención de recordar mis paseos anteriores y tratar de encontrar cambios, si es que los había. Sin darme cuenta me encontré frente a una placa que decía el por que la avenida había adquirido su nombre y resultó que fue ahí, donde se realizó la jura a la constitución, allá por el lejano 1830.

Solo noté un par de cambios y eran un par de negocios nuevos, que ya no poseen el mismo color que los demás, están más americanizados. Finalmente llegué a la Plaza Independencia… No pude evitarlo, tenía que llegar frente al hotel donde me hospede la primera vez y desde ahí cruzar la calle quitado de penas, para ver el, para mi tan curioso, acto de que los autos se detengan mientras uno camina frente a ellos, solo que a diferencia de los uruguayos, yo lo hago rápido, porque no puedo evitar sentir pena por el que va en el vehículo. Fui a contemplar de nuevo el imponente monumento a Artigas, es realmente grande, y de nuevo me maltraté para mis adentros, por no tener a mano una cámara con batería cargada. Desde ahí divise también el local de una “La Pasiva” que fue el primer lugar donde fui a comer en mi primer viaje, ahora abandonado. Luego vi el kiosco donde siempre iba a compra cigarros y aunque llevaba más de ocho días de no fumar (le estaba dando un descanso a mis pulmones) no pude resistir la tentación, solo que en esta ocasión el vendedor no conversó conmigo al notar mi acento tan distinto. Al comprar la cajetilla había quedado a mi espalda la puerta de la ciudad, que alguna vez entiendo hizo su trabajo como puerta, pero ahora funge como monumento. Por alguna razón siempre pase a la par de ella, nunca a través, por lo que ahora lo hice justo por el centro y entonces estuve en la peatonal de Ciudad Vieja.

Acá se usa mucho el concepto de “feria” que es lo que los guatemaltecos llamaríamos mercados, solo que acá son ambulantes y con agenda establecida. Es decir ya se sabe que día y durante qué hora estará en qué lugar. Así pues en la peatonal los sábados por la mañana se pone una feria que por lo que ofrece (porque las ferias son de distintos tipos) se ve que son pensadas para turistas. Ahí se encuentran cuadros, artesanías, libretas con forros de madera, llaveros y de esos trabajos manuales para brazos y cuellos que se encuentran en todo lugar (quizá exagero, por lo menos en lo que yo he conocido) pero llamó mi atención que venden todo, principalmente todo aquello que tenga aspecto de “viejo” pude ver entre otras cosas, lapiceros viejos a los que se les notaba el mecanismo dañado (quizá lo más curioso), paquetes de cartas antiguas muy averiadas, cámaras fotográficas de esas que uno piensa que solo existen en fotografías y películas de antaño, jarros, marcos para fotos, medallas deportivas y unas que me dieron la impresión que eran como del ejército que imagino alguna vez alguien gano, fichas (eran muchas para ser de colección), incluso una llave numero 14 oxidada. Si tienen todo eso ahí, supongo que lo han de vender, pero de no ser un diseñador con gustos especiales, no entiendo quien lo compraría.

Al final del recorrido estaba un McDonalds y un Burguer King. En éste último terminé almorzando, aunque en el recorrido había encontrado sitios más tradicionales de acá como “La Pasiva” y varios “Il Mondo de la Pizza” por mencionar solo algunos, pero tiene una explicación lógica. Primero está el hecho de que sin lugar a duda es lo más parecido que pueda encontrar a algo que pueda comer en Guatemala, aunque la calidad de acá no es tan buena, o quizá sea que estoy acostumbrado al sazón chapín, y segundo que el acto de comer en estos lugares es casi ceremonial, la comida pocas veces está preparada con anticipación, por lo que los períodos de espera en un restaurante son largos y verme sentado en una mesa de comedor (en una banca o en una librería no tendría problema) solo, no se me hace una buena imagen.

Al salir de Burguer King, caminé un par de cuadras y tomé un taxi. Si bien el país posee mucha influencia europea, no se puede evitar encontrar características latinoamericanas, el taxi me paseo más de la cuenta para regresar al hotel, pero aproveche a reconocer lugares por donde había estado en ocasiones anteriores.

Ahora que termino de escribir esto ya es domingo, hoy es día de elecciones en Uruguay, la segunda vuelta, por lo que si veo algo que llame mi atención, no dudaré en comentarles.

Es en serio, no me quiero levantar de cama. No, no es que sea un haragán, es que sé perfectamente la fecha que es hoy y lo que la tradición manda que hagamos. Si ya lo sé, hoy por la noche todo va a estar bien, por lo menos entre seis de la tarde y ocho de la noche y luego después de las doce. A las seis en punto de la tarde iremos con papá a comprar los cuetes y los canchinflines para jugar toda la noche y en especial para cuando inicie el veinticinco, y sé que justo después que volvamos de la compra, nos iremos a bañar y a ponernos nuestra ropa de estreno. También sé que a las ocho y media apagaremos todas las luces y prenderemos las del árbol, mientras salimos de casa y nos dirigimos a la de la abuela cargando nuestros propios regalos, que nosotros mismos escogimos, cosa que no entiendo ¿Por qué no puedo jugar con el ahora? ¿Por qué tengo que esperar las doce? Si yo mismo lo escogí, y seguro que aunque me tomaran foto, cosa que no acostumbramos, no podría hacer cara de sorpresa, por lo menos no una creíble, no es lo mío la actuación. Hoy sin lugar a dudas pasaré hambre por la noche, pues la tradición manda que no se pueden destapar los tamales de arroz, hasta después de los abrazos. A demás, tendré que jugar con esa prima y nadie lo sabe, pero me cae muy mal, se me hace la persona más protegida, creída y antipática del mundo. Seguro que a ella la abuela le da mejor regalo que a mí, si es que me da en esta ocasión, porque de eso no ha hecho una tradición, lo que sí es seguro, es que si me da, me dará ropa ¿A qué niño le gusta que le den ropa en navidad? O bueno, ¿A qué niño le gusta que le den ropa en cualquier ocasión? eso es regalo para los padres. Sin embargo, lo que más detesto de este día, es que la tradición manda que nos toca hacer limpieza y de las que mis padres llaman “de las buenas” voy a terminar molido de cansancio. Ésta no puede ser la mejor forma de empezar una fecha donde se supone que todo es alegría y felicidad. Hace tiempo que la navidad dejó de ser para lo que se suponía que es, ahora es para notros los niños ¿Por qué trabajar este día? No podría todo ser celebración, alegría y felicidad para mi. Aunque supongo que para mis padres ha de ser alegre vernos limpiar todos y cada uno de los rincones de la casa. No me gusta. No me gusta saber de antemano como van a pasar las cosas y verme obligado a hacer cosas que no quiero hacer.

Finalmente llegó el día. Me tengo que levantar pronto, porque si bien me dieron descanso a cuenta de vacaciones en el trabajo, no he terminado de comprar los regalos. Seguro los centros comerciales van a estar llenísimos, me va a costar mucho encontrar parqueo y a eso hay que sumarle el tráfico y la aglomeración de gente. Pero eso no es lo peor, lo realmente tedioso es el estrés que tenemos que vivir año con año, porque es mandatorio que demos regalo a nuestros “seres queridos”. Si eso fuera cierto, la lista no sería tan larga como es. A parte es terrible tener que estar pensando que regalar. La fórmula para el regalo es desgastante. Tiene que ser algo bonito, barato pero que no aparente ser barato y que de alguna manera le guste a la persona, pero no tanto como para que pudiera hacer sentir mal a otra que no resultó tan feliz con lo que recibió a la que capaz que uno le tiene más aprecio. A demás salen mil ofertas en los supermercados y hay que huirles, porque si realmente son buenas, seguro que muchos o compran lo mismo o se dan cuenta del precio y después ¿Cómo hace uno para aparentar que no se escatimó en el gasto, o para cambiarlo si quien recibe el regalo así lo desea? Las tradiciones cada vez nos complican más. Que el detalle es lo que importa dicen todos, pero eso no es cierto, siempre se trata de ver qué intención hay detrás del obsequio. Lo bueno es que hoy me libro de ayudar con la limpieza general de la casa. Al igual que los últimos años, le dije a mis padres que tenía muchas cosas pendientes y tendría que salir de casa y que por la cantidad de gente, seguro regresaría muy tarde y que lo mejor sería que me esperaran en casa de la abuela, porque yo llegaría directo. También como en los últimos años ya no tendré que esperar para cenar a media noche, porque todos entendieron que ahora trabajo y me canso, por lo que me tratan un tanto mejor, en cambio los regalos, si los abriremos hasta que den las doce y seguro que no me dan mucho, porque a como están los tiempos, los mayores prefieren gastar solo en los niños, para que tengan una “feliz navidad”. Solo de pensar en todo lo que tengo que hacer aún, ya me siento cansado. Empiezo a añorar aquellos tiempos cuando quien tenía la cara de preocupado era mi papá, mismos en que yo me preocupaba únicamente por ver cuantos juguetes podía comprar con el dinero que me habían asignado, porque yo prefería muchos baratos a uno o pocos caros. Hace años que ya no vamos a “La Carabanchel” a comprar los juegos pirotécnicos, porque cuetes ya casi ni se venden, para las últimas veces todas eran luces muy modernas y cosas que volaban. Seguro que era más divertido llenarse de pólvora las manos que hacer colas durante horas para que envuelvan un regalo. Como odio que “la sociedad” haya creado formas de demostrar afecto, cuando eso es algo que debería surgir de forma natural y demostrarlo cuando uno lo desea.

Tengo que levantarme ya. Aunque si he de ser honesto, no he podido dormir del todo bien solo de imaginar la alegría y la emoción que van a sentir mis hijos cuando les de los regalos de navidad. Es como volver a vivir a través de ellos la emoción que alguna vez experimenté. Está claro que ellos mismos escogieron sus regalos, pero de que otra forma puede un padre quedar bien en estos tiempos. A parte se lo están cantando a uno desde mediados de año, pero lo importante es mantener la tradición. Claro yo no los obligo como me obligaban a mi a limpiar la casa, por lo que supongo que a ellos esta tradición si les ha de gustar, y digo lo supongo porque con tanto aparato y cosa de comunicación que tienen, pocas veces tengo la oportunidad de ver, no digamos interpretar alguna de sus expresiones. Como todos los años la pasaremos en casa de mi suegra que nos hará esos ricos tamales que siempre prepara. Sé que todos los disfrutamos no solo por su particular sabor, sino porque entendemos el esfuerzo que hace por querernos atender y por mantener viva una tradición que mantenga a la familia unida. No sé si es que los años me han pasado factura, pero el olor a pólvora no es el mismo que era antes y la gente en la calle cada vez se ve menos feliz para estas épocas, quizá nos convendría celebrar la navidad cada tres meses para darle algo de fuerza. Lo siento, a veces soy estúpido con mis pensamientos, quizá se deba a que a hora es más fácil que me invada la nostalgia. La maldita nostalgia que no escucha razones, a la que le insisto en que las tradiciones no tienen nada de bueno y no le importa. Por eso me preocupo y estoy decidido a hacer en estas fechas de todo para que mis hijos la pasen bien, porque anhelo que ellos sientan por un momento lo que yo sentía en mi infancia, de la que más que todo recuerdo cosas buenas. Mamá ya no hace los tamales de arroz que solía hacer, está muy grande para eso y nadie le aprendió la receta, una gran pérdida, porque eran sensacionales. Nadie los probará de nuevo. Me devano los sesos tratando de inventar algo para que por lo menos mis hijos no se alejen de nosotros con mi esposa, creo entender que ese es el sentido de las tradiciones y me aterra la idea de que mis hijos puedan llegar a odiar esto que preparo con tanto gusto y placer para todos nosotros, como de malagradecido lo hice yo, hace solo algunos años.

My television is a museum piece, it will no longer work when I get it out of storage in January but I’ll keep it anyway for sentimental reasons.  We had one of those until I was pretty old, then I lived for a long, long time without one at all.  Maybe that’s why I won’t be bothering to buy one when I move into a house next year, it’s not something I need or ever really use when there is one.  Yet, to me there is nothing more amazing entertainment wise than a superbly executed, well acted, 24 episode long season of fine television.   I’m a hardcore escapist and I love movies but aside from the occasional epic, 2 hours isn’t enough to truly love a character, 900 minutes is way better.  5 0r 6 seasons of 900 minutes? Now we’re talking.

The Sopranos.  Without the Sopranos there would be no Mad Men, no True Blood, no Breaking Bad, there would be no TV drama  renaissance full stop.  God only knows what we would all be watching but it would most likely suck.  The bar was raised by about a million and TV became something else.  Not that there weren’t great shows before 1999 but nothing like this, not that level of acting, the sublime scripts, the subtle character arcs, the pace of the story, the soundtrack and the eventual conclusion, which in true style managed to just work where other shows would fail.  Who was your favorite? Mine was always Christopher.

So if you haven’t actually watched the Wire and by that I mean actually watched it not just read about it in every magazine, newspaper, blog going.  You really should.  I hate bandwagons, hate jumping on them and I managed to avoid this until season 4 was airing in the USA but when I finally succumbed it was like descending into TV heaven.  For some reason I ended up watching season 2 first and the going back to watching the first season before carrying on with the rest.  Occasionally people tell me they tried season 1 and got bored (insane) so I tell them to go watch 2 first then come back to it, I call it the ‘Charley Way’.  Actually I don’t but it works because the second season is fairly detached from the rest of the plot and then you’re hooked.  There have been so many eloquent love letters to the Wire written by all kinds of great writers since it ended last year, I don’t need to say anymore.  Google them.  Omar, who might genuinely be my favorite character in the world, is worth it.

Ok.  I don’t even know where to start with this one.  I think about it almost every day, I still look in the mirror and get upset that my eyebrows will never be like Sherilyn Fenn, that I will never be like her at all *sob*.  My entire aesthetic has been distorted and designed by watching this show, I’m STILL desperate to live in the Pacific Northwest.  Hearing the theme tune is like a call to arms for dreaminess, owls are awesome, BOB still terrifies me as much as he did when I was 11 and watched it for the first time on late night TV, Agent Cooper is still my dream man, I don’t even care that it gets ridiculous in season 2.  Essentially it’s my favorite show ever and I was going to write something intelligent about why.  Fail.

Six Feet Under.  There is a point with TV shows, usually around season 3 when they start to get a bit silly (excluding my first 2 selections) and this really happened with SFU.  I’m about to go and re-watch it starting from the pilot and I think it’s been long enough for me to forget exactly why that was.  Obviously it was never bad enough for me to stop watching or for those characters to stop being so special or for me to not cry for about a day when it ended.  Recently I’ve come across a lot of people who have never even seen it, especially since the success of Dexter (I’m afraid Michael C. Hall will always be David in my mind) and True Blood, how is that possible?  I’m always happy as larry when I find people who loved it as much as I did.  Favorite character? Brenda, of course but Ruth a close second.

So I guess that’s a top 4.  I could go on but after that the ordering becomes hazy and I can’t decide whether Northern Exposure comes before or after Arrested Development or if I miss Dead Like Me more than Carnivale.  Or if House is my favorite medical drama or whether I have enough guts to say in public that in all honesty Grey’s Anatomy probably is.  Or if True Blood is going to be more of a classic than Mad Men or if 30 Rock might just be the best thing that ever happened to me.

A recent study just published in PNAS, hit the mainstream news and attendant blogsphere circuit yesterday.  In the study, as most of you must have heard by now, the authors (Eugene Caruso, Chicago Booth School of Business; Nicole L. Mead, Tilburg University Marketing and Emily Balcetis, NYU Psychology) show that respondents who are shown a picture of a biracial political candidate tend to choose doctored photos of that candidate—some “ligthened” and other one’s “darkened”—as “most representative” of that candidate depending on how close they are to that candidate’s political views. When there is a match, the candidate is seen as better represented by his lighter self, and when there is a mismatch, the candidate is seen as better represented by his darker alter-ego (of course this is an experiment so exposure to stimuli is randomized).

The study is in the press because the authors of the study were smart enough to not only use a nondescript biracial candidate (they did that in study 1, the (poor?) guy’s name is Jarome Iginla, “a 32-year old biracial male whose father was a Black Nigerian and whose mother was a  White American.”), but then (in study’s 2 and 3) they selected the most famous biracial candidate in the history of modern democratic politics.  They also planned well, since study 2 was conducted just before the 2008 election and study 3 was conducted right after.  What they find is that the “photoshop” effect was replicated with Obama and that the extent to which participants judged that a lightened photograph better represented Obama’s “true essence”* predicted both voting intentions (study 2, before the election) and restrospective reports of actual voting behavior (study 3, post-election), controlling for both standard lib-con placement and (implicit and explicit) racial attitudes (the last of which were surprisingly impotent in predicting anything in this study; sorry Larry).

This is a very cool study, the authors have pretty big substantive (not just statistically) significant effects and this could probably be easily replicated.  The effect is real and (given the news attention) spectacular.  The issue is of course interpretation.  I believe that the main interpretation that’s circulating in the news report (and which the authors don’t appear to be doing much to combat) is a (slight) misinterpretation.  Most news reports are blabbing about how political views alter or skews the perception of the photograph. In fact the study is literally called “Political Partisanship Influences Perception of Biracial Candidates Skin Tone.”  But while this title was obviously designed with the press-release in mind, this is not what the study is actually about.  In fact, Marc Ambider’s summary at the Atlantic is actually a more accurate characterization of the effect: “Lighter Skin, More Like Me.”

For the key issue in this study is not “partisanship” but the extent to which you rate the candidates view as similar to your own. The confusion stems from the fact that this was explicit in Study 1 (where candidates where informed about the unknown biracial candiates view and then had to judge how representative these views where of their own) but became implicit in studies 2 and 3, since there all that you needed to know was the respondent’s lib-con placement (Obama’s was presumed to be known of course).

But most importantly (and I’m sure the Psychologist in the study knows this very well) this was not a perception task (e.g. in the psycho-physical sense, “estimate how dark or light this photograph is…”).  It was a judgment task (“how well the photographs represent…”), so “partisanship is not skewing perception in the raw sense.  In judgment (like judging distance) perception is involved but it is more complicated than partisanship making you “see” a photograph as lighter or darker. In fact, the best explanation for this effect in my view, is Dan Kahneman’s “attribute substitution” story.  All of the elements for an attribute substitution effect are there: (1) an ill-defined, loosely bounded judgment task (like judging distance), (2) a readily available (cognitively and affectively accessible) cue that can be used as a heuristic (the relative distance between the person and the candidate in terms of political views) in order to produce a judgment.

So I propose that the effect occurs in two steps:

1) First, we substitute the (impossible to define) “true essence” of the candidate with the more accessible “how close is this candidate from my values?” heuristic:  close to me=good essence, far from me=bad essence. This simplifies the problem to one of being asked to judge which picture best represents a bad essence (if candidate disagrees with my views) or a good essence (if candidate agrees).

2) We then answer this (more answerable) question with a second substitution, using a simple (and culturally entrenched heuristic [e.g. see Gandolf's robe]) dark=bad and light=good); both steps occur at an implicit level of course.  So there is not effect of partisanship on perception.  The partisanship effect is cognitive/affective, and occurs during the first substitution (when judging “distance from self”).  The second effect is “cultural” and (you don’t have to see the scene in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X when the title character goes through a dictionary, or read Durkheim and Mauss’ Primitive Classification to get this), thoroughly intuitive (e.g. Dark Magic, etc.).

*The actual prompt is as follows:

…participants read instructions describing that photographs can differ in how well they ‘‘represent a politician’’ and capture his or her ‘‘true essence.’’ They then rated how much each of three photographs—one lightened, one unaltered, and one darkened—represented the candidate  on  scales  ranging  from  1  (not  at  all)  to  7  (a  great  deal).

Manden har i længere tid holdt små taler der omhandler shia-sunni relaterede emner, men så er det også der historien rigtigt begynder! han er i forhold til mange andre ikke typen der går stille for sig, men rent faktisk er han hård i hans kritik, og det blev ikke bedre efter Saddam Hussein faldt, og shiismen pludslig stod stærkere, så blev han ikke længere en lokal Imam fra Kuweit, hans videor fik andre betydninger, de florerede rundt på youtube i forskellige udgaver, visse udgaver var klippet og redigeret til et enkelt formål at stille shiismen generelt i dårligt lys, eksempelvis blev et af hans taler cuttet således at han skulle have sagt:

Sunnimuslimske moskeer skulle sprænges i luften

Senere har han kommet med hele hans tale hvor den generelt omhandlede sunnimuslimske moskeer der har våben gemt, og de derfor ikke kan betegnes som moskeer.

Men ifølge yassir al-habib kom der visse salafi-wahabistiske bevægelser og sagsøgte ham for at få ham fængslet, i første omgang fik han 1 års fængsel, og da anklageren ikke var tilfreds fik han 10 år i efter sagen blev anket. Resultatet var at han flygtede til hans nuværende bopæl i London.

Men her slutter historien ikke, Yasser fortsatte sit virke -nu på engelsk- og emnerne var de samme! da han i interviewet blev spurgt hvorfor han fortsatte med samme retorik svarede han

Vil du have jeg skal ændre min retorik for at få skabe fred folk af modsat mening, mens de stadig vil kører deres ligende retorik?

og til spørgsmålet til hvorfor han bander over De første 3 kaliffer sagde han

Jeg vil her rette dig, jeg bander ikke over dem, jeg forbander, og jeg vil først stoppe med at forbande den dag, dem jeg er uenige i vil stoppe med at lovprise samme personer, forvent ikke at jeg stopper mit virke, mens de fortsætter deres propaganda! Hvad skal jeg gøre når modparten ikke tolerere det mindste kritik af historiske begivenheder, at de ser mange af profetens venner som gode mennesker det gør vi ikke shiamuslimer ikke, det er almen kendt ligesom vi kritisere de første 3 (kaliffer) så kan de kritisere os det vil jeg personligt ikke have noget imod. ham der dræbte Ammar bin Yassir var muslim (ifølge sunnimuslimer), ham der dræbte Kallifen Othman var muslim (ifølge sunnimuslimer) men ham der dræbte omar var en “Persisk ild tilbeder” selvom mange historiske kilder siger det modsatte, hvorfor lyve over os selv?

Interviewet er kommet i den arabiske tv-station ANB, og desværre er der ikke engelske undertekster. Selvom Hans retorik er Hardcore og ikke noget for svage sjæle, så kan man rent faktisk opfange visse pointer som jeg synes er gode, jeg er ikke ligefrem enig i hans måde at føre diskussion på, men alligevel har han fået mig til at tænke på mange ting.

News talking about the possibility of building a new Islamic center in a Swedish city “Helsingborg”. Of course the Swedish government believes that this Center will help to integrate muslims into Swedish society, they will become loyal to Sweden and they will maintain the national security! They may also think that their good treatment and support to muslims, despite the strong and growing opposition, would protect Sweden from the muslims Jihad! Such wrong beliefs, prove what we have always affirmed, that no one can understand the danger of the mosques ideology, if he was not born an Arab Muslim, received education at the hands of imams, had a daily contacts with them, and was active in the mosques. However, let us provide you with some of the evidence, which confirm that these beliefs wrong and dangerous.

                                     Ahlalhdeeth or ‘Ahl al-Sunna wal-Jama`a

‘Ahl al-Sunna wal-Jama`a

‘Ahl al-Sunna wal-Jama`a is the most dangerous official sect in all over the world because of their dangerous strategy based on brain-wash people especially children, girls and young Muslims in Europe through Islamic  organizations , mosques and young associations and through the exploitation of both the European governments and politicians  and they who want a new mosque in that city. They emphasizing:

( The Sunna of the Prophet, salallahu alaihi wa sallam, and the people who follow it. Praise belongs to God Who in every century inspires a group of scholarly people to defend the Way of the Prophet, salallahu alaihi wa sallam. Islam in the understanding of Muslims from every generations from the prophet on down is that the only Islam is the Islam of ahlu-sunnah wal jama’ah, the jam’ah being the jama’ah of the salafu-saalih. Their Islam was Islam and other than their Islam is not the correct Islam and Islam is only looked at from the route of how they viewed the Islamic etiquettes from manners all the way to fiqh and aqeedah to be )

“That his’ Ummah will split into seventy-three factions, all of them in Hell except one: The Jama’ah (the Community).” (Reported by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal)

And (the Prophet) (peace be upon him) said in another hadith: “They are those who will follow what I am and what my companions are today.” (at-Tirmidhi)

Those referred to in this saying, those who hold firmly to pure, unadulterated Islam, became the people of the Sunnah and the Jama’ah. Amongst them are the Siddiqs, The martyrs, the righteous, included in them are the cairns of guidance, the lamps for darkness, the masters of memorable merits, the ever-remembered virtues; Among them are the Abdal 1 the Imams about whose judgment and understanding all Muslims agree. These are the victorious ones about whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “A group of my ‘Ummah will continue to follow the truth prominently. Whoever betrays them or opposes them can never harm them to the Day of Judgment.” (al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The creed and the aims of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama‘a

  They believe that the situation of Muslims now is identical to the Saudi Prophet Mohammed at the beginning of his missionary . So,  their  policy now , especially in Europe, is not to use violence for For certain reasons such as fear of expulsion, which will lead to the integration of generations of Muslims in European societies and that violence will not lead to the opening of Europe.  This is the difference between them and terrorists  muslims.  Therefore, the most important of their current employment in Europe is to present the mosques ideology peacefully  and to fight the integration through the islamic centers , mosques and schools and working to raise generations of Muslim  on the doctrine of the mosques.  And then, those of the generations will be a strong base, can be moved and used for the implementation of the  mosques strategic plan. However, the points below show a part of their ideolgy and policy: 

• As you know they believe in the imams sunna - the Saudis Mohamad teaching –  which asserts beating women, amputation of hands, cursed the Christians and Jews, to prevent alcohol, stoning of women, forcing women to veil, killing mockers, fighting secularism, prevent Muslims from paying taxes, prevent Muslims from converting to another religion…..

• Anti-Christian missionaries, churches and Jewish centers and secular parties. They asserted : ( The duty of the Muslim community — in order to preserve its identity — is to combat apostasy in all its forms and wherefrom it comes, giving it no chance to pervade in the Muslim world.)

• ( The four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi`i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-`ashriyyah, Al-Ja`fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.)

• ( “The blood of a Muslim who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah is not lawful to shed unless he be one of three: a married adulterer, someone killed in retaliation for killing another, or someone who abandons his religion and the Muslim community.) ( such me. I  deny the doctrine of mosques, and I believe in secular countries and the ethics and the law of Europe )

• ( Religion occupies the very first place here as believers may sacrifice themselves, their country, and their wealth for the sake of their religion.)

• ( Refrain from fighting anyone whose death will cause more harm to the muslims ) ( This also one of the reasons whay they deny and refuse to use the mosques official violence because it would harm musims such as expel them from Europe and the closure of mosques 

• They asserted : ( The  principle aim of a mosque is to save the Muslims from melting in the Swedish society )

• The asserted : ( One of the most important basic principles of our religion is that of al-walaa’ wa’l-baraa’, loyalty (walaa’) to Islam and its people, and diavowal (baraa’) of kufr and its people ( Christians, Jews and all non muslims ) )

What will be their work ? 

  The mosque would be aimed at matching  other mosques aims because it same ideology , such as the:

1. Cursing the Swedish people dozens of times each day

2.  To remind Muslims, especially young people, children and women that to love and follow the non-Muslims is forbidden . All mosques and imams agreed that a true  believer does not  love non muslims ,for whoever loves a kaafir is not a believer

3. To prevent Muslims from integrating

4. To convince  Swedish people  to turn to the imams ideology

5. To prevent Muslim women from emancipation

6. To prevent any Muslim to cooperate or recognize Israel

7. To organize demonstrations against any citizen to criticize Islam, mosques

8.  Bring the Saudis and other imams to give lectures to young people to be trained in Sharia and anti integration

9.  Organizing trips for  youth Muslim to States full of terrorists such as Yemen, under the pretext of learning the Arabic language

10. Collicting  children in mosques to teach them the doctrine of imams

11. The establishment of official relations with politicians, for reasons I will mention in another article 

12. The most important goal is to open Europe through Sweden, as provided  in the doctrine of mosques

Therefore, to allow them to establish this mosque means helping to destabilize the national security and prevent the integration of Muslims. Of course, our politicians refuse to accept my scientific and strategic advices  , for reasons I mentioned earlier as well as they use the excuse of religious freedom. Forgetting that freedom of religion does not allow teaching people to be criminals by teaching them convictions and criminal acts  such as amputations of hands and stoning and beating of women and children and endangering the national  and global security . In any case, I’m sure they will regret later,  because the presence and the increasing number of mosques and Islamic centers and associations, will lead to very serious damage And would cause great suffering to our future generations too.

9. Lead to the impossibility of integration of Muslims in any European country

10.Lead to charge non-Muslim as racists and the exploitation of those charges to obtain money

 12. Lead to terrorism and crimes  Women who wear the hijab and believe in it as the base and a way to get to heaven, it is easier to recruit to carry out terrorist acts. It happened that veiled women they blew themselves up in suicide terrorist attacks , to prove also that the veil is logo of devout believers. Therefore, you see them wearing the veil when they kill civilians

13 . The hijab and (not the niqab ) is  one of the most dangerous reasons that lead to  Islamic Jihad . All Islamic parties and  terrorist organizations struggle politically and military to establish islamic states to forced all women to veil. This is what happened in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Iran.

14. The veil is a serious weapon in the hands of Islamic centers in Europe,  where they can use it to provoke Muslims when needed. And as long as do exist Islamic centers, schools and mosques and imams in non islamic countries , the  problems of the veil will  continue .

Therefore it is incumbent upon the entire world to prevent the headscarf  since religious freedom does not mean the oppression of women and does not mean to endanger the national  and global security
