Omarosa thinks we should “celebrate” the fact that Tiger was not injured in his accident and he is still around for us to enjoy.  Oh please!  Yes we are glad he wasn’t injuried seriously in the car accident but I hardly believe some arrogrant man whore is a national treasure. 

In other news, I’ve been reading the Twilight series books like a raving lunatic.  To those that don’t know me well I’d say I was mearly engaging in professional research.  I work with tweens and teenagers that worship these characters and speak of them like they are BFF’s.  A responsible social worker would educate themselves about these characters to better communicate with their clients.  Now, if you were my friend I’d say these books are delicious and I can hardly get enough of them.   I’d speak about the characters to you as if they are my BBFs.   These books are vampire porn disguised as a love story amongst teenagers.  Seriously, the writing about how badly Bella wants to have sex with Edward and the events leading up to Edward and Bella “doing the deed” is erotic.  I’ve heard that middle aged women have described the Twilight series as foreplay.   As a 30 year old divorcee that hasn’t gotten laid in a year…..Co-Sign!

On to the crappy complaining…Danger sign – not an original thought on my part, not that I have ever had one…but I read an article in the paper today that said that “debt maintenance” costs the State of California BILLIONS every year. That is the cost of maintaining debt we already have, basically paying interest. The article said, and of course this seems logical, that the cost of maintaining that debt is increasing exponentially. By the year 2018 it said the amount of debt maintenance as a line item in the budget would double to something like $18 Billion and that legislators themselves estimate it would take up 10% of the total budget. So the bottom line is that for us Californians 10% of the money taken out of your paycheck for state tax, 10% of the money you pay in sales tax (a whopping 9% in Clovis) and 10% of all the other fees we pay state wide are getting us…absolutely nothing. Great. And it won’t get better, it will get worse.

Another sign of the apocalypse I picked up on from the paper is that Omarosa from Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” fame is getting her own dating show. There are so many things wrong with this I don’t even know where to begin. I think I watched one episode that season and was appalled at her behavior. I then saw her on a talk show where she acted proud of her lying and bitchiness as if they were admirable qualities. God help the people that watch these shows. She is a self admitted manipulator, she is a liar and a bitch. What man in his right mind would compete to date her? Well of course, men who want their fifteen minutes of fame and will humiliate themselves to get it. And Americans will watch. And Omarosa and Trump will make money of it. Holy crap what are we becoming?

Anybody look for a job lately? Having any luck? A recent glance at the Sunday classifieds in Fresno , with a metro area of about a half million, showed oh I don’t know maybe 30 or 40 jobs. About a half page after you eliminate the ads for trade schools and paper routes. Recently a job report came out the said something like 640,000 jobs had been created nationwide by the stimulus. Many news stations reported this as if it was a fact. “HEY, GREAT NEWS – over 600,000 jobs have been created and we are on pace for the 3 million jobs Obama said the stimulus would create!!! YIPPEE!” The problem – There is not even a semi-accurate way to accumulate that number. They counted many jobs two or three times by using multiple sources to accumulate the stats. So if they ask a person, an EDD office or temp agency and the employer – they could count the same job three times. Another problem is, there is no definition of what counts as a job. By all accounts there is no standard and a job could last two days and the person could be terminated, but it counts as a job. Don’t know about any of you, but a job for a week doesn’t help me much. Another problem – they counted jobs “saved” by stimulus funds as a job created. So some guy admittedly took stimulus money and gave raises to his current six employees, and the government counted this as six jobs created. This is a classic example of politicians manipulating numbers to suit their needs. I remember a few years ago a police chief in Philadelphia (not 100% sure of the city) was caught getting people to not report crimes, or to manipulate them so it wouldn’t be reported as a felony to make his stats look better. “Hey look, under my leadership there were 50% less rapes and murders!” In the meantime all of the data was useless because he had manipulated it to make himself look better, at the cost and peril of the residents of the city. All the while I bet he referred to himself as a public servant.

OK – I need some happy thoughts… Rugby game coming up!!! I missed Aspen which is an incredible tournament in an incredible location. Couldn’t make it because of work…but I have to make it next year…third week of September, 2010! Anyway, Over/Under 30 game December 5, 2009 in Fresno. Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth returns to reality television again, and is teaming up with the man who made her famous, Donald Trump. Omarosa is most noted for being the “first reality television villain”, during her role on the show The Apprentice. While Omarosa has starred in several other reality TV shows since the Apprentice, this go-round she is focusing on herself. The new show “Omarosa’s Ultimate Merger” is her search for a soulmate, and Donald Trump offers advice to the contestants. Just to clarify, Omarosa is no longer married, she actually divorced her husband after the conclusion of The Apprentice, as she stated “and I really didn’t like him before The Apprentice so I can’t really blame it on TV.” Wow! For those interested in watching the “reality” of Omarosa searching for a mate, the show is slated to premier on TVOne next year.

Omarosa and Christian Keyes were sizzlin’ it up on the set of “We Are Family” which probably already went to DVD before it even finished wrapping up.  D. Woods and actress Monique Coleman were apart of this mess.  Fellas how many of you would jump at the chance to slob it down with Omarosa?  Keep it real….

What seemed to be a 10 minute segway in the late 90’s into the new millennium has become an uproar of weigh loss, relationship hookups and celebrities “looking for love IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES.” Flavor Flav, Ray J and other individuals are milking the reality cow and it’s becoming dissatisfying. For instance, why are Heidi and Spencer famous? No, they are not incredible actors such as Halle Berry and Matt Damon. They didn’t invent anything incredible and they are lacking talent. For some reason, they are all over the air waves and television screens. There are famous individuals and not yet famous individuals who deserve that spotlight SO MUCH more.

There is an individual sitting at home watching hundreds of people on television who have no business on a BLANK screen. Actors and actresses are losing movie roles to singers. I’m all about expanding the brand of ones’ self, but not if it’s going to diminish the Entertainment Brand as a whole. Omarosa is going to have a reality show. Denise Richards has a reality show. The Kardashians’ have a reality show. It’s becoming down right STUPID. I actually find myself somewhat entertained by this shit.

It started w/ Real World. I believe the 1st few series’ had some “reality” involved. Putting a group of kids in the same house and forcing them develop into one co-existing unit. Individuals from different walks of life and such. Great concept. Great concept. Reality television has grown into this spindle of sarcastic bullshit, though. Every show attempts to stretch the bar more than its’ predecessor making the “reality” non existent. Now there are stalkers, domestic abusers and murderers’ among the reality television circuit. Which brings me to my next issue with reality. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

Are there sophisticated background checks? Does Vh1, MTV, TRU TV, Fox Reality and others screen each and every contestant proficiently. I’m sure there is a screen and maybe a background check, but these people can create a personality for themselves. We may NEVER know who they really are. Jasmine Fiore met her husband and eventual killer, Ryan Alexander Jenkins. He had been in the reality circuit through Vh1’s “Megan Wants A Millionaire” and “I Love Money.” I’m sure Vh1 knew some things about him, but did they know everything? These are questions of concern I have, honestly.

I understand, acknowledge and oblige television networks working diligently to entertain its’ viewers. I REALLY do. I challenge the networks to do the best they can to entertain us in a better way, though. “The Biggest Loser” changes peoples’ lives in a positive way. “America’s Got Talent” (although it has its’ querky side) changes lives in a positive way. Some of these shows I view as “30 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.” Step your games’ up ASS HOLES.

Then I need to set my dream goals a bit higher. Seriously. I had the same reaction when I read that reality star Omarosa — known for being let’s just say not so nice — is studying to become a minister. After my side-eye calmed down regarding both of these stories, I stopped making fun. Would I go to Blair for help or visit Omarosa’s ministry? Umm, I don’t know about all that. But I guess it’s never too late in life to make a change for the better…

Jayson Blair knows his new profession — life coach — smacks some people in the face like a bad punchline.

“People say, ‘Wait a minute. You’re a life coach?’ That makes no sense,’” says Blair, the ex-journalist best known for foisting plagiarism and fabrications into the pages of The New York Times. “Then they think about my life experiences and what I’ve been through and they say ‘Wait a minute. It does make sense.’”

Blair, 33, resigned from the Times in 2003, leaving a journalistic scandal in his wake. The resulting furor led the paper’s top two newsroom executives to resign. Blair wrote a book, then mostly disappeared from view.

For the past two years, he has been quietly working as a certified life coach for one of the most respected mental health practices in northern Virginia.

“He can relate to patients just beautifully,” said Michael Oberschneider, the psychologist who hired Blair and urged him to become a life coach. “Sometimes you just meet people in life who have these electric personalities. Well, Jayson is now using his talents for good.”

Oberschneider, director of Ashburn Psychological Services, took an interest in Blair after seeing him lead a support group for people with bipolar disorder that Blair founded in his hometown of Centreville after being diagnosed himself.

Oberschneider said he took a long, hard look at Blair before hiring him, in large part because of his past, which included substance abuse. But he was impressed at the rapport Blair had established with members of the support group.

“Very few people can go through what he did and come back,” Oberschneider said. “He really is a success story.”

Blair says his empathy for his clients is his biggest asset.

“They know I’ve been in their shoes,” he said. “I think it can feel a little more authentic.”

Blair said clients rarely know his history at first, but it inevitably comes up within a session or two as Blair relates his own experiences. Never has a client refused to work with him because of his past.

Blair said he has thought about going to school for a psychology degree, but isn’t sure if it would be the best fit for him.

“I don’t really think too much about the long term,” he said. “I like the idea that I can help people avoid some of the mistakes I made.”

Radio, now Daytime Diva

Sassy, witty, and loud are a few ways to describe Wendy Williams. This radio diva and “Dirty Jersey” native is now taking daytime television by storm with The Wendy Williams Show™! Last summer with her six-week special many guest  including the infamous Omarosa (The Celebrity Apprentice) and James Denton (Desperate Housewives) graced her couch and helped get her show in syndication. Today Wendy Williams enters the homes of millions of americans at 10 am on the fox network™ and ask the question “How you doing“?I  have to admit, personally I was NOT a fan of the radio diva, but after watching an episode of her talk show she made a fan out of me. She doesn’t  exude a condescending attitude that of her talk show counterparts Tyra Banks ,and  Oprah. Yes, her show isn’t all that put together with the moving of her wigs, and reading off of paper. But she keeps it real, she doesn’t take herself  to serious, and most of all she has fun. And its what the people love. So my message to wendy is keep up the good work.

Fox news is reporting that Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, yes THAT Omarosa, of The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice notoriety, is about to begin a two-year Doctor of Ministry degree in Ohio. Huh?

Omarosa demonstrated her character clearly and for all to see on national television, and the idea that such a person could be accepted in good faith (pardon the pun) to any kind of Christian ministry is just beyond the pale.

Having observed her outrageous, undisciplined, underhanded, devastatingly mean and dishonest behavior on television, and especially her ugly nastiness toward Piers Morgan and his family during a game where the goal was to see who could raise the most money for charity, I can’t imagine a woman more unfit for the religious life. I’ll give her a couple of months, tops, before she either leaves the seminary of her own accord or is escorted to the door by security.

I wonder if she’s ever considered politics? Apparently she worked at the White House once, but it’s been suggested that no-one wanted to work with her because she was so difficult. With her winning (sarc) personality and penchant for playing fast and loose with the truth, she’d be a perfect fit for this administration!

I really like Omarosa.  She has issues, I know, but I think she really has cleaned up her rep…and now she’s putting a halo on it.

Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, known for her in-your-face antics on “The Apprentice” and other reality shows, is scheduled to begin her studies at United Theological Seminary in Dayton on Monday.

Ivan Hicks, the school’s associate dean for African-American studies, says Omarosa will spend about two years pursuing a doctor of ministry degree.

Hicks says the Youngstown, Ohio, native has a heart for Christian ministry and has done work on behalf of the homeless and the poor in Haiti.

He says Omarosa’s reputation for both good and bad will help her as a minister, because people will relate to her.

I am not sure about all this.  Maybe this is a good thing for her.  Maybe she needs to get the scum of the limelight cleaned off and polish herself up for better things.
