Chillage Extrême, c’est peut-être quelque chose comme le Chinese Democracy de la scène rap montréalaise : un album annoncé depuis tellement longtemps, à la date de sortie maintes et maintes fois repoussée (hiver 2007-2008 anyone?) et dont on avait fini par ne plus attendre la parution…

Ben coudonc : Jeune Chilly Chill redouble d’ardeur et nous prend par surprise en droppant finalement dans les bacs son premier album solo (pour faire suite au mixtape Swaggalicioso, paru au printemps 2008).

On aime : la pochette simple-mais-efficace, la suite inattendue de Pour les B**** (vieille collaboration avec Linso Gabbo, malheureusement trop obscure), qui réunit Omnikrom au grand complet, et Real City, bel hymne à la ville de Montréal (probablement ma pièce favorite jusqu’à présent…)

Pour se procurer le disque en mains propres, on se rend au Quai des Brumes, ce mercredi à 17 h.

The day she came to Edmonton, she played at my FAVORITE venue ever, the Starlite Room, but it was also the day before moving out east. So blah. But, her new album, I Feel Cream, is solid solid peaches. Dirty. Raunchy. Gender bending. Back bending. ASS UP! It is only so fitting that Amanda Blank opens up for her. She is also promoting her new album which I happened to review!  Stick around for the review of this show! AND VIDEOS! I can’t wait!

-My favorite dance duo from Montréal released this single a while ago and it keeps up to the Chromeo standard. Fancy footwork. Cute dog drooly lyrics. Infectious pop synths. The Skream remix of this is SICK. I am currently looking for a good 320 quality of this. HOLLLA!

-There is barely any info on the dude, but his full name is Ishmael Ledesma. He’s had a great great musical history, touring with the likes of Kool and the Gang, Natalie Cole, Rick James, and more. He was a part of many disco bands in the seventies and eighties. When I first heard this song, I was addicted. It had the Anita Bell-esque disco feel to it. It took me a while to realise that it’s actually a man singing this song. Awesome. Put on your platforms!

-All I know is that they’re dutch. I guess that says enough. A.K.A. they know How To Party. They have so much knowledge that they christened their recent album with the title, The Art of Partying. The album is Italo-disco meets house. It’s alright…it’s an album that you’d definitely need more help with the first time, like maybe a few beers…shots of Jack’s…some wine perhaps? It doesn’t have the air of say, Modeselektor or Junior Boys, where you can chill out to it at home or dance to it at a house party too! It definitely has tracks that stand out but not many. Enjoy this one, my fave off the album =)

-Six piece band of Indonesian awesomeness. Seven years of playing together produced two eclectic albums, Centralismo and Ports of Lima. You can tell they are influenced very very much by the West yet there is still the Pacific feel behind their tones. Centralismo is apparently one of the TOP FIVE Asian albums worth buying (according to The Times Asia). Plus, the Rolling Stones Indonesia praised PoL as the best album in 2008. And they really really do deserve it. Their music is genius and almost impossible to put into a genre. I felt such a release listening to Sore. Finally something away from all the Stereogum and Pitchfork hyped bands. This is super fresh. Get a glass of wine.

-AAAAH yes. Another electro-pop duo from Montréal. Haven’t really heard much of their stuff…and I think Omnikrom’s alright, but their collaboration on this is pretty solid.

-Vapours is easily one of my top albums of the year. UGH, Nick Thorburn and crew have done it again. the Islands, based out of Montréal (WHAT WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!) create the catchiest indie rock with lyrics to match. I recently saw them at Théâtre Plaza and their magic on stage is no short of one feels while listening to the album. Dressed all in white, armored with silver vests and gold collars, they rocked out in style. I got there a bit late, unfortunately, and I guess they must have played my favorite song of theirs (ahem, below!) in the first fifteen minutes because I didn’t get to hear it. My heart ached a bit because of this…but I think it’s OK. This song, is defs on my top list for the year end and was my soundtrack song for New York while I was there.

Having no more than just over a month, after today, I realised that I haven’t recovered from Bonnaroo, MJF, and Flying Lotus (yes it counts as it’s own event it was sooo epic). My feet hurt. My ankles hurt. My toes hurt. My whole body is numbed from cycling place to place, dancing from floor to floor, and naturally and in style, giving it my all. Today proved to be an awesome start to MEG Montreal, with a free BBQ (I ate three hot dogs…ugh—first hot dogs I have had in a loooong while that weren’t tofu), a great venue (le divan orange), and fantastic entertainment.

I went to three venues today, all of which took me at least an hour total to cycle about, to see three different shows. The reviews amd goodies for Random Recipe, Cougarettes, Noia, Misteur Valaire (hearts hearts), Omnikrom, and Dirty Sound Ssytem after the jump!

Edit: I HAD ALL OF THIS WRITTEN AT 2PM YESTERDAY BUT STUPID ME, AND I DIDN’T SAVE…AND WORDPRESS’ AUTOSAVE FAILED ME WHERE IT SAVED ME MANY TIMES BEFORE AND I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED MY WINDOW. I FEEL(T) SUPER DEPRESSED…AND RE-WRITING THIS AGAIN, WELL IT SUCKS. So yeah, just a warning that this will not be as thorough as it was before…sigh…but enough about how I had spent a good few hours writing something that no longer exists…AFTER THE JUMP for review number two!

Live in Show: Random Recipe, Cougarettes, and Noia
@ le divan orange (MEG; 30 07 09)

I knew what to expect from Random Recipe since I saw them no less than a month ago at the MJF. Even a few weeks ago, at the Flying Lotus show, I ran into Fab and saw Frannie. Once again, I find myself in front of familiar faces at Le Divan Orange, a quaint venue but decently sized to fit at most 2-300 people. Despite the crowd being a hundred times smaller and the stage being ten times less spacious than on Bell Stage for their awesome MJF performance, their demeanor on stage didn’t slow and showed no mercy at this drastic change in ambiance as they battle cried into their first song “Know It Don’t Cha” (I don’t know the actual name of the song as it is not on their CD and their myspace nor anywhere else for that matter. But my guess is well informed from the chorus…sorry, if it’s wrong)!

Their sound is diverse as can be heard from the mix of English, Spanish and French lyrics and a music broadness that ranges from simple beat boxing and tune boat blowing to hip-hop, pop, and a bit of funk jams in between. They rap, they sing, and the two front MCs, Fab and Frannie, are sassy, deliberate, and unequivocol. They deliver the lyrics and stage performance with an aplomb that rivals Barack Obama giving a presidential speech. How these guys aren’t signed yet, I don’t know. But I am sure by the end of the year, after all this publicity, that’ll change. I can’t find a link to online sales of their music, but you can go to their myspace and spread the word the best way, by mouth! OoooooOOOooo. The sad thing is, their music in studio is not half as good as how they are live. So imagine these songs to be five times better performed with a flare that is The Sartorialist worthy.

I ran into Frannie just outside after the show and was hoping for an interview. Unforts I didn’t have time as I had three other shows to catch…Oh well, it will come soon =)

The Cougarettes are so. bad. ass. That is the only way to describe them. They make every other music genre shudder like pansies. When I first walkede into the show, at first I thought it sounded a lot like Metric but on ketamine. Bordering on the brink of absolute incoherence, the Cougarettes meld experimental, rock, metal, 8-bit, and electronic goodness into one big vat of noise that is not repulsive but rather, indulgently welcoming.

The star of the show, I’d have to say, is definitely the lead vocalist, Cardy. She is so fucking fierce. She is a lioness. Not once did she break focus, not once did she come out of her revelrie, and not once did she look into the crowd with a face of terminator like sheer determination. I was, I have to admit, in awe of her. In her black patent pumps and her vintage long red dress, she jumps into the sparse crowd, a crowd which consisted of no more than 20 people, but she’s badass, so she did it anyways, walked around and droned and moaned and screamed her way through the lyrics. I couldn’t understand a word she was saying, but it wasn’t necessary. The tone of her voice set the space and and context of the song, regardless of the lyrics. And that’s fantastic.

Following in Cardy’s footsteps, the guitarist was nearing, wait no, WAS epileptic. The sheer force of the amplitude and the batshit crazy psychedelia could no longer be contained! His dance seizures couldn’t hold back near the end of the show and he tossed himself off the show, crawling, withered, and humped his way in and around the crowd until finally he did a very impressive back somersault onto the stage. What. A. Pro.

The show ended and I feel as if they should have physically wrecked the stage to further prove just how bad ass they were. In my mind, in those moments of clapping and cheering, I imagined the entire set, the keyboards, korgs, guitars, stands, and even the stage floor boards, utterly destroyed as they all gave a last jump. It didn’t happen though. It should. Next time!

I am officially an FFL (Fan For Life). I regret not purchasing the CD at the venue. Their debut EP Milk Fangs was just released but unforts I can’t find any place online for purchase. Next up, Noia. Unfortunately, by now, a lot of the crowd had left. Maybe it was because the BBQ was over, or maybe people didn’t feel like committing for another 30-60 minutes, but there were only two people on the dance floor and under 15 people in and around the bar. It sucks ’cause they really deserved a larger crowd.

It was a super awesome set up. They were encased as if in a mesh cube, where images reminiscent of playing Super Mario Bros and Tetris on your broken TV set on LSD were projected onto it. It was like Etienne de Crecy but more 8-bit. I’m sick. And the only medicine is more cow—8-BIT!

Noia played super experimental and extreme psychedelia infused with precocious 8-bit. Another thing, they were FREAKIN’ LOUUUUUD! This was one of two bands I had to pull out earplugs for, my ear drums would have been meddle if I hadn’t saved them from this brutal synth attack. Overall, a pretty great ending to Le Divan Orange as I had to make my way to the next venue!

Live in Show: Misteur Valaire and Omnikrom
@ l’Olympia (MEG; 30 07 09)

Once again, I screwed up my chance of seeing a full Misteur Valaire set. Why?  My usually good time management and decision making skills failed me. Instead of going straight to the venue, I decided to go home and make dinner before dancing another 6 hours…a pretty good decision right? Well wrong, because by the time I got to l’Olympia for the ONLY show I wanted to see, a show which has eluded me for months no because of wrong dates and wrong addresses (again, my fault), MV was already 30-45 minutes into their set. I relied on the fact that they’d be late while forgetting that they were a part of a festival, and festival timing tends to be on time, unless you’re Snoop Dogg or Erykah Badu. I sorely regret having dinner. I should have starved.

I managed to get there to see at least twenty minutes…and twenty minutes in heaven is better than one minute. Just like the last time, the crazy amount of instruments from keyboards, drums, guitars, korgs, synths and mixers were manned by the five piece band donned in furry color vests and indie glasses to boot running left and right on stage, dancing and grooving as we were to the sound of their genious music. Disco trash. Electronic disco. Funky beats. Imagine a mix of Telefon Tel Aviv, Filur, the Juan Maclean, and a bit of Andrew Butler. Mmmm mmm!!! That smells deeeeeelish!

A little tidbit about the venue first. Having never been to l’Olympia, I had no expectations, I figured it would be a much smaller venue but I was dead wrong. L’Olympia is absolutely majestic. Thirty to forty feet cielings with carvings and arc work that mimic those of prestigious castles and palaces. Red walled and emblazed gold line the detail throughout the entire venue, and it reminds me of the Paramount in Seattle where I saw the Flaming Lips (an amazing show). I wonder why more shows aren’t here. The venue is great, the capacity is probably half that of Métropolis because there’s no balcony, but the ambiance in itself makes up for any other lack. It is beautiful and it was a perfect venue for Misteur Valaire.

At the end of their set, all five of them came to the front of the stage and started this choreographed dance of some sort. It was awesome. One of these days I’ll catch a full set and not be late and not have the wrong address this time!!! They peformed two of my favorite songs (I guess they were their favorites too) for the end of the show. So, these are the songs I am going to share! Omnikrom was up next. Their set up was very Daft Punk like in that they had a triangular base where their DJ, Figure 8, stood up top. Instead of a pyramid with thousands of LED lights to make your brain go mushy, Omnikrom had alien like markings all over their contraption. Cool stage.  Accompanied by the two MCs, Jeanbart and Linso, they started off with an awesome song, “Comme à la télévision”. From there, it went downhill. The rapping was great but the beats were if best, mediocore. They made it a bit more fun with the release of balloons of which there were whales and other sea creatures. But, that got old super fast. Even their other hit “Été Hit”, couldn’t save the night.

More than halfway through, the massive enthusiastic crowd secured by Misteur Valaire’s unsurprising mindblowing set was cut in half as people dispersed not throughout the venue, but out of it. Around this time, Figure8 had a solo and played much more danceable beats. And then the Michael Jackson tributes came like a hydrodam.

First, Figure8 in his solo played remixes of “I Want You Back”, “Smooth Criminal” and “Thriller”. It was cool because of the tribute but the remixes weren’t personalised and they’ve been heard on the blogosphere before…and the more I listened, I realised that his solo wasn’t that great and eventually the crowd did too, as the bobbing heads and girating bodies came to a near full stop. At which point, Jeanbart comes out newly changed with a black fedora, red jacket, and a white glove. Another MJ tribute, hoorah! Even a month after MJ’s death, the tributes don’t stop coming, and that’s great.

It’s just too bad it was a bad cover. He did his own rap over the tune of “Smooth Criminal”, but it just didn’t work. It really didn’t. His lyrics and the way he was rapping just didn’t work with the originality of the song in the first place. It probably would have better to just have played the MJ original and let everyone dance, sort of like Stevie Wonder’s MJ tributes. And it was at this moment, which really cemented how bad the night was going. The crowd was lacking, lacking in numbers and lacking in motivation. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate MJ covers and MJ love but this was just bad…and it slowed down the entire night.

Overall, the performance was alright but the beats were dragged out. There was no absolute stage presence and the music in itself, just wasn’t unique for me, or at least, catchy enough. I really wanted this night to end. It didn’t when I wanted it to, so I left before the show ended to head to my next show. Misteur Valaire really should have closed.

Live in Show: Dirty Sound System
@Zoobizarre (MEG; 30 07 09)

Yes! French DJs! French DJs never let me down. Nor do German DJs. I have no idea why this is the case, but it is. But first things first, the openers…I cannot find a myspace for these guys.

But a little tidbit about the venue first. Zoobizarre. This is hands down, the coolest venue I have experienced yet here in MTL. It feels as if you’re in a cave! Easily recognizable in photos because of the low ceilings and block like walls, Zoobizarre is really just that, a biazarre zoo full of animals. I went in and had no idea where to go because of the mirrors which made the space larger than it was, and how even the bar, without it’s lit up bottles, would be completely unrecognizable and blended with the space completely. I was so disorientated but, I think to bump wildly into each other and to be in each other’s space is the goal. Let’s mingle, people!

First up, Alex Why Vs J Levingstone. OOOO OOOO OOOO. Is all I can say. They played such funky old school disco house. House that made you nostalgic of the times before Guetta and Axwell influenced what house sounds like today. I didn’t want them to stop! But…Dirty Sound System! Up next!

His sound is very much like Andrew Butler off of Hercules and Love Affair, very deep and very progressive house. But then, he changes it up and wows me completely with this INCREDIBLE remix of Simian Mobile Disco’s “It’s the Beat” layered with samba and latino backbeats and some deep house. The whole place of 50 some people were ALL dancing. Now that’s when you know you’re doing a good job. But, unforts I had to leave early as my feet seriously could not handle anymore. I am sure that if I wore running shows my woes wouldn’t be so, but dancing in running shoes seems so…uncomfortable.

Anyways, that was the end of my day! Very good and very tiring…stayed tuned for the rest!

C’est qui le fucking public de tous ces groupes d’imbéciles là? Sérieusement, c’est quoi cette scène musicale de marde là? Ça ne date pas d’hier, mais aujourd’hui j’ai un blogue et je peux en parler. Il n’y a vraiment personne qui tente de reprendre le contrôle ou vous êtes vraiment tous des zombies esclaves universitaires qui trouvent ça bin comique des clowns qui s’improvisent musiciens?

Chaque fois que je vais faire un tour dans le palmarès francophone de CISM, il est toujours infesté de “LOL Music” comme par exemple, cette semaine on y retrouve Omnikrom, Les froeurs, et Les violents cachalots. La pollution ne serait pas ce qu’elle est sans le duo qui s’écoute comme du McDo, c’est-à-dire, à l’aide d’anti-vomis; Otarie. Va chier le directeur musical et va chier aux animateurs qui, ensemble, partagent la notoriété de CISM à ces pas-très-marrants soit disant artistes.

En revenche, le talentueux duo rap, 2e Monde s’est fait découvrir par les mêmes amateurs de la musique décrite ci-haut. Êtes-vous vraiment conscient du talent de Semi-Bruce et Betchi ou vous les écoutez simplement parce que vous pensez avoir mis la main sur un nouveau duo-fluo-branché? Lachez-nous avec l’humour! Vous méprisez les rappeurs québécois, mais vous tendez l’oreille quand vous pensez avoir entendu un ton humoristique à travers le flow de l’artiste en question. Jeune Chilly Chill, Maitre J, 2e Monde, Mc la sauce, Atach Tatuq…Vous êtes sans contredit les pires écouteurs de musique de l’histoire du Québec. Honte sur vous.

Une fois pour toute, Annie Dufresne, tu n’es pas une rappeuse. Je ne suis pas un fin connaisseur de musique electro, alors par respect pour les puristes electros, je ne catégoriserai pas Électro-Lise de groupe electro non plus. Omnikrom ne fait pas exception. Appelons ça du pop. C’est la catégorie qui sauve la face de tous les groupes merdiques. Je ne connais aucun puriste de musique pop et n’ai d’ailleurs jamais vu personne se plaindre que Simple Plan ne devrait pas gagner le trophée du groupe pop de l’année.

D’abord, sache que j’orviens tout juste d’un court voyage à Port-Cartier. Huit cents queques kilomètres aller, huit cents queques autres pour le retour, en sandwich : trente six heures en sol port-cartois pour célébrer les funérailles de mère-grand. Je t’en raconte pas plus parce que ça fera l’objet de ma prochaine chronique pour Bang Bang. C’est juste que l’asphalte m’a mis vedge, comme deux volée de dix heures chaque, faque.

Là-bas, j’ai eu le temps de réfléchir à mon troisième Coups de tête, j’avais déjà une idée bin précise de l’histoire que je voulais raconter, mais j’ai eu un super-flash, une autre histoire que je me gardais pour plus tard qui s’est assemblée magiquement. Pis par « assemblée » j’entends qu’elle s’est toute écrite dans ma tête. J’ai pris plein de note pis là chuis devant un gros dilemme : je la repousse-tu, ou bin je m’y attèle tout de go ? Hm.

Faque c’est ça.

L’été à Sherbrooke, c’est plutôt mort. Pour ceux qui ne savent pas, la majorité des jeunes sont étudiants et n’ont pas tous une session d’été (comme moi), ce qui leur permet de retourner dans leur région administrative respective. Tout ça pour dire que je savais qu’Obscene kidz n’arriverait pas à faire salle comble au Téléphone rouge, mais comme dirait ma mère, y’a t’jou’ ben des limites!

Deux copains descendaient dans le 819, on était vraiment mindés à enflammer le dancefloor, get crunk like no one can sur Chiller dans les clubs (évidemment la seule toune qu’on connaît). On arrive, 23 h. Personne. Personne, sauf notre ami le barman, son employée, nous, et Arvida crew qui rappent assis, seuls devant deux personnes. Sans oublier que les organisateurs de même qu’un troisième band obscure étaient absents. Total de membres du public: 6.  Leur show finit, Obscene kidz embarquent tout de suite, parce que « Sherbrooke c’est de la marde » et « On veut finir ce show-là au plus crisse pour retourner chez nous dans notre belle Longueuil ». T’as pas de public et tu te permets de l’insulter? À vomir. Les gars, qui se prenaient très au sérieux, étaient visiblement offensés de n’attirer personne. Ce que je trouvais plutôt drôle, quoi qu’un peu malaisant.

Mais le clou de la soirée, celui qui vaut le 7 $ d’entrée, fut indéniablement quand un des gars, pensant probablement que j’allais lui flasher mes seins  « Comme Janet Jackson » m’a demandé ce que je voulais entendre (au micro) et que je réclamai Ça sent le XXX ce soir* avec beaucoup d’entrain. Humor compatibility: 0. Regard noir. Regard de tueur. Les Obscene Kidz me méprisent à jamais. Tant pis. Je ne pensais pas retourner chiller dans les clubs avant un sacré bail.

* Chanson d’Omnikrom, groupe de qui Obscene kidz se veut une pâle, que dis-je, une copie délavée, voire javelisée.

Je reviens sur l’album d’Omnikrom, parce que j’avais oublié de parler de la pièce Les tronches qui, à mon avis, mérite d’être surlignée avec un highlighter de qualité. Aux synthétiseurs, Le Matos, dont je vous parlais une fois, et que j’ai revu et qui ont fait danser Sherbrooke samedi dernier et que c’était très cool. « Qu’est-ce que c’est, qu’est-ce que c’est les tronches? » « C’est nous! » La toune est un hymne aux nerds. Elle démontre d’une façon particulière combien ils sont loin d’être ridicules, après tout.

Je vous invite à commenter ce billet avec le nom des gens qui écoeuraient les nerds au secondaire. S’ils sont toujours aussi imbus d’eux même, ils se googleront et auront un petit pincement au coeur. Bon bon bon. Vous la voulez ma critique du nouvel album d’Omnikrom. Non? C’est pas grave, j’aime me convaincre que vous manifestez de l’intérêt pour moi, c’est à ça que ça sert, un blogue.

Pour faire changement, je partais avec une idée négative. Les singles que j’avais entendus (Comme à la télévision, Salir l’écran) ne m’avaient pas charmés. Trop sains, cheesy. Fallait s’y attendre, le dernier album, Trop banane, donnait quand même dans le gentil-gentil, si on compare avec ce qui s’était fait chez Omnikruche avant. Dans les entrevues, les gars parlaient d’un album plus « mature ». Question is: est-ce qu’on veut vraiment un Omnikrom mature? J’ai de vieux albums de Dubmatique si je veux me faire faire la morale, merci.

Mais! J’ai été surprise, agréablement: j’ai bien aimé le produit. Très bon beats, j’ai trouvé que parfois le combo musique/refrain sonnait plus hip hop US qu’avant, mais c’est pas un reproche, c’est cool, et c’est éclectique à la fois. (Tout le monde aime ploguer le mot éclectique). D’ailleurs, par maturité, je crois qu’on a voulu parler de souplesse et de risque a aller vers d’autres styles, vers des trucs un peu plus complexes, mieux pensés. Y a des collaborations avec Hugo Mudie (aka le gars des Sainte-Catherines dont j’sais pas prononcer le nom) et nul autre que la plantureuse Coeur de poussin. Deux pièces qui bottent des têtes, à mon humble avis. Mes préférées. En osant comme ça, fallait s’attendre à manquer une marche. La chanson Feel Collins est cette marche: un espèce de remake de In the air tonight (blasphème!) avec des voix de tuyaux, mi-chantées, mi-rappées, tout le long, ouf. Une traduction mot pour mot du vrai refrain de Phil, ouf. « Oh Seigneur! » Mais bon, un désastre sur treize tracks, c’est quand même pas mal. Ils pouvaient se le permettre, sachant très bien que leurs fans de 14 ans les suivraient même s’ils avaient sortis un album de covers de la compagnie créole. Et moi aussi, j’ai suivi.

À quand le passage à Sherbrooke? J’avais beaucoup aimé la dernière tournée. Hâte de voir ce qu’ils nous auront construits pour la prochaine, et j’espère quand même avoir droit à Ça sent le xxx ce soir et autres vieux chef d’oeuvres lyriques.

Excellent disque d’Omnikrom.

Je m’avance même pour dire qu’il est meilleur que Trop Banane, plus mature peut-être…

Comme à la télévision mélange plusieurs styles différents, ce qui nous plaît beaucoup.

 Y a de la broussaille ici! C’est que La taupe se prélassait en bikini, dans la cours arrière de son habitat parental. Vacances post-stage et pré-session universitaire oblige. Et ’savez pas quoi? Des langues sales prétendent l’avoir aperçu en train de lire… Twilight. En vacances à Laval, qu’est ce qu’on ferait pas! Comme prévu, elle a ajouté un peu de hip à son séjour en allant voir Numéro#.

Je ne m’étendrai pas sur Crube et Rocipon (non?) puisque je l’ai déjà fait, mais je dirai que j’ai été agréablement surprise. Même si y avait pas salle comble (Laval, vous savez…) je crois qu’on a eu droit à un pas pire show. Sans rappel, mais pas pire quand même. Mon petit frère a adoré, il m’a remercié et m’a même dit « je t’aime ». Ouais, un bon show. Parlons plutôt du band de la première partie, que je voyais pianoter  sur ses claviers pour la première fois: Le Matos.

Je sais pas si c’est que je suis trop habituée aux petites salles, mais un show qui commence à 8 h 30, je suis jamais trop dedans en partant. C’est peut-être parce qu’ils avaient oubliés de fermer les stores (Laval, vous savez…) aussi, mais non , je déconne. Tout ça pour dire que j’ai trouvé que les gars faisaient d’excellents beats, vraiment, mais qu’à la longue, à jeun, dans une salle à moitié vide, ça peut devenir long. Je sais pas si les gars le prennent mal, quand ils jouent les beats des autres (remixes d’Omnikrom, Coeur de pirate, Numéro#) et que la foule est en délire alors que c’est triplement moins le cas quand ils jouent leurs propres compos. Perso, j’le prendrais plus comme un message. Ou alors c’est moi qui contredire le headline de ce blogue en étant trop mainstream. Soit. Faut laisser une chance. Les hochements de tête démesurés des Matous m’ont convaincus que c’était quand-même-bon! Je vais retourner les voir au Téléphone rouge à Sherby le 30 mai, le show devrait commencer un peu plus tard. On s’y voit?
