I am so pleased with how it has all turned out after a year of planning, writing and constant brain draining it is worth the bottle of expensive red I’m about to open.

Troy and his staff did a fantastic job and it was packed. There was live music great food and drink and some great art.

Unfortunately we had to go early, but I snapped off this photo (much to Jean’s dismay)  :)

HGC @ C Gallery

They have taken on HolyGreenCow as one of the 2D artists in the gallery. The gallery is predominantly a Glass / Ceramics and Sculpture space.

It was a great opportunity to be taken on by Troy at the gallery and I wish him every success.

Opening night tonight promises to be a big one  :)

C Gallery is a unique retail art gallery specialising in hand-blown

Beads were also applied, along with hand stitch using some of my “precious” yarns bought on a whim.

Again I was interested to view the tonal qualities of these colours, by playing with Photoshop to create a black and white image.

I have been reflecting a lot on the degree of time I spend on the computer – something I find too frustrating for words, but relief is in sight – as plans are underway to make more time and space available for my textile art experiences. So, you can hope to see more of my work in the near future. I am looking forward to sharing with my wider community in this way, so please do drop me a comment every now and again, will you?

“Natures Forces” was created on cotton cloth using Jo Sonja’s acrylic paints, then stitched by machine, embellished further with hand stitching. This time I did not dilute the paints and so the high pigmentation gives an intensity I really like for this particular image.

Curious to view the values I included a black and white image of the same piece.

“Natures Forces” has been entered into the “Brush With Art” exhibition in South Australia.

Anyway, it was an awesome day and Holy Green Cow has been given a great honour, by having all four works from the ‘They Came‘ series acquired (purchased) by the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery.

Not only that, but they have been chosen for the ‘Crates on Wheels‘ touring exhibition in 2011 !!!!

I had a great chat with the Lord mayor and his wife about Holy Green Cow and art and music.

Special thanks to Sue and everyone at the Gallery. It was a fantastic exhibition and I am really quite blown away.

Thankfully the change has brought immediate rewards, with a number of images being selected to appear in the Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery this December. As part of the SNAP! photographic exhibition being held there December 3 – 24.

It should be a fantastic exhibition and a great chance to debut these new images. Check out the new stuff here.

Cataclysm will be added to on a monthly basis, or whenever I feel the need to say something. At this stage, only the three new images are up there so check back every now and again to see what’s new.

Get on down to the QCP too (cnr Cordelia and Russell sts South Brisbane) and support the best local talent in photographic art!!!

HolyGreenCow has just been asked to exhibit in the Pine Rivers Regional Art Gallery in December as part of the ‘SNAP!’ Photographic Art Exhibition for the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

This will be images from the newly revamped ‘Cataclysm 2.0′ series.

The reaction to the series thus far has been phenomenal and we look forward to unveiling the new images in due course. Exhibition details will be forthcoming soon, but it looks like it will be a collaborative effort featuring work from both Clarissa Bones and Holy Green Cow with of course the Flesh series in it’s entirety.

Was great to chat with Alison Kubler and Walter Stahl too. Alison Opened the exhibition and Walter was another of the artists.

I’m pretty damn excited as this is a brilliant opportunity to get my work to new people that may never have seen my process.

Hope to see you all there on the night. It’s my first major exhibition as Holy Green Cow and it’s quite an honour to have been selected for it.

The entire 11 images from the They Came series will be on display in the window on the road side. So don’t forget to pop outside and look  :)

The spooky thing is that this vision appeared within minutes of me finding out I had been asked to exhibit at the Brisbane Square Library next year!!!  (thanks to JME for passing on that info, it made my day!!!)

Next is something that Jean and I have been after since before I started Uni… a Ray Cook.

This isn’t the one Jean was after, but you cant say no. Ray is one of Australia’s best Photographic artists and it’s his unique vision and humour that really appeal to me. Plus he has helped steer my art more than anyone. Even my psychologist…

Funny thing is he wouldn’t even know or care, but I have a really deep respect for Ray and his art. OMG this is starting to sound EMO… just look him up and see for yourself. Before I start trying to cut myself for attention.

Lastly, Jean and I were lucky enough to get this amazing work by one of our favourite people… Renata Buziak.

This is the second purchase of Renatas work, but that should just tell you that we love what she does…

These three artists are among the best that this country has to offer, so these purchases are extremely gratifying. Go, buy your own art.

It’s good for the soul.

The exhibition runs from the 18th – 20th June at Sanctuary Cove. With a Cocktail Party gala opening night on the 18th.

In a field including Carl Warner, I felt pretty stoked to be selected.

It was definitely a night for landscapes though, with virtually all the prizes going to scapes. I guess it pays to research the Judge first.

Also great to see my friend Sam Scoufos pick up a highly commended. Congrats!!

Opening night is Saturday 21st August and all are welcome. The exhibition runs from 21st August to the 19th September.

The limited edition prints will be on sale at the gallery.

The limited edition They Came images will be $150 each including postage and the Flesh series will be $95 including postage.

T-shirts will remain $40 each.

Entitled Flesh it’s the first collaboration between Visual Artist Clarissa Bones and it’s been an amazing experience.
