So for the past 3 of my posts it has been about 2 girls from American Idol season 3. It was coincidence that I posted about them in sequence, but now I’m purposely doing this . Personally, it was the best season because the talent was exceptional. That was the season where Fantasia won the title, with other contestants like, Jennifer Hudson (woo!!), LaToya London, Jasmine Trias, Camile Velasco, Leah LaBelle, George Huff and so on. So this post will be a dedication to my favourite performances from that season (if I can remember all of them). Don’t get me wrong, other seasons have had spectacular moments, but I won’t get into that now otherwise I’ll be stuck here forever. So, let’s proceed!

This is when the Top 2, Fantasia and Diana sang with previous winners Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard – Impossible Dream. I really enjoyed watching this.

Well. I’m sure I’ve missed some out, but I hope you enjoy. Wow this was kinda long hahaa! Given me some inspiration though, hmm what should I do? A cover, anyone??

After last night, I’ve decided, even though I’m still hurting, to go on with my life.

I stayed up all night thinking about this but didn’t really accomplish anything because some people just like to play with your emotions.

I can’t move on, and I can’t let go. But I will put my smile back on and hide my tears away.

It hurts to think about it everyday, but that’s one pain that will forever remain. I gave it my one last cry last night and accepted the fact that I will forever be alone.

It’s gonna be another lonely birthday and holidays for me. Last year, I spent my birthday and holidays alone…why should this year be any different, right?

Maybe next year I’ll find the strength to start my life over again and leave all the pain and sorrow behind but keep the memories. Maybe one day I can be happy again.

Pinoy entertainment circle was mourning with sadness and shocked on the  news of Douglas Quijano sudden death. At age 64, Tito Dougs (his petname to his talents) was found dead in his rest house in Lucban, Quezon early Saturday morning and had apparently died in his sleep.

Veteran TV host and long-time friend German Moreno said in an interview aired over Q’s Balitanghali that the cause of his death has yet to be confirmed, but Moreno speculated that it might have been a heart attack. Actress and TV host Lucy Torres-Gomez, one of Quijano’s talents, said that Quijano was diabetic.

Movie and television talent manager Douglas Quijano, was one of the most  influential figure in Philippine show business for over four decades, he manages big names in showbizness such us Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, Tirso Cruz III (first one he managed) ,  Aga Muhlach (before), The Guwapings Fernandez, Jomari Yllana and Eric Fructuoso with Jao Mapa (before), of course John Estrada, Joey Marquez, Wendell Ramos, Antonio Aquitania, Anjo Yllana, Gelli de Belen, Jay Aquitania, Benj Basa, and  Richard Gutierrez.

I am currently listening to my favorite song of all time: One Last Cry covered by You. I have had this file since September 24th 2007 and I remember driving to the library to tutor after I got the CD in the mail and it was amazing.  I listened to it over and over and over again and I still do every so often and your voice still makes me shiver sometimes. Now, I have never actually heard you sing in person and I’m sure I will one day soon enough . I am still working on getting you to play me one of those sonnet pieces pianissimo lol.

I guess listening to this music helps me reflect on how far we have come. At the time, this was the sweetest thing you had ever done for me. it was especially memorable because like you said, you had never done this for anyone before. I remember how it used to be so difficult for you to do certain things and so when you did this, it was the floodlight at the end of the tunnel . I was seeing bits and pieces before that. We had been dating for 4 months and the official response had come (goes without saying) and then there had been the cooking, the summer of eating out and meeting my family and a few other things along the way . This was huge though, especially when you said you hadn’t yet do this same thing for other people that you had known longer. It went a long way in shoring up that trust factor and it made me feel good inside: to know that the walls were now just coming down more and more.

Hehehe…. Itulah yang pertama kali terlintas ketika saya melihat judul di atas. Ya, tertawa kecil cenderung bingung. Terlintas begitu saja dan langsung saya tik sebagai judul. Judul tersebut ga ada hebatnya bila dibandingkan “Antara Anyer & Jakarta”nya Sheila Majid, atau “Antara aku, kau, dan dia”nya Ahmad Band, atau judul film “sex, lies, & videotape”. Memang apa hubungannya antara caleg, one last cry, dan krisis global? Saya pun masih bertanya-tanya apa kira2?

Saat ini terdapat kecenderungan di masyarakat kita, bukan hanya masyarakat Indonesia saja loh, yang selalu berusaha untuk menyambung-nyambungkan satu hal dengan hal lain apapun kata/kalimat sambungnya. Ditunjang dengan pengetahuan dan pengalaman masyarakat yang sudah semakin maju, berlimpahnya saluran & media informasi, menumpuknya manusia yang memiliki atau merasa memiliki kemampuan analisa terhadap segala hal, hilangnya pembatas antar komunitas, dan hal-hal lainnya, masyarakat menjadi sangat mudah menyambungkan atau melihat suatu hal dari sudut pandang yang bisa sangat berbeda antara satu sama lain. Dan hal ini akan semakin berkembang karena kebebasan dan jalan serta cara yang memang telah tersedia. Menggeloranya citizen journalism/expression/statement seperti pada you tube, blog, atau yang masih semi seperti top 9 news-nya Metro TV menimbulkan satu hal/berita bisa bertambah panjang atau bercerita lebih karena ada andil dari masyarakat. Jika dulu yang dimakelari adalah barang, saat ini objeknya bertambah dengan informasi. Yes, welcome to world of information. Sehingga tidak aneh jika sekarang ada profesi yang dinamakan “Calo Info”.

Calo info belum tentu berpreferensi negative, tapi bisa juga positif. Selama yang dikabarkannya sesuatu yang berpihak pada kebenaran, tentunya sosok calo info sangat kita perlukan. Selama ini kebenaran cenderung dimiliki oleh segelintir pihak besar dengan modal besarnya. Namun dengan disebarluaskannya pemahaman dan cara untuk awam menyebarkan info yang diketahuinya, lambat laun keadilan dalam berita akan semakin terwujud. Oleh karena itu, selalu buka mata buka telinga dan informasikan secepatnya info anda. Sehingga ”Antara caleg, one last cry, dan krisis global” mungkin bisa dihubungkan sebagai : banyak caleg berharap tangisannya adalah yang terakhir kalinya (one last cry) dalam menghadapi krisis global. Nyambung, tentu tidak…. Atau bagi saya yang juga nyaleg, saya suka lagu one last cry-nya Brian Mcknight terutama waktu lagu ini booming tahun 93 dan lagu ini lumayan bisa menghibur saya menghadapi krisis global yang berimbas kepada krisis dana kampanye. Hehehe…
