“Is Google Making Us Stupid?” This article very interesting in the fact that the author

“Is Google Making Us Stupid?”

This article very interesting in the fact that the author believes that a source of information is making the human brain not able to perform as well. The web is full of information and Google helps your mind find what you are looking for easier, so why would you become more stupid because of this? I did not agree with what the author was trying to get at. He never went into why Google makes us stupid, only went off topic to reveal theories and how the internet came to existence. The only thing that proposes his theory is when he discussed ads. Ads can be a huge distraction on the web, and your brain will have a harder time focusing on whatever you may be trying to accomplish. I believe that this is the sole purpose for your brain not be able to focus. If you multi-task, is has been proven that you will focus on both things at half your brain’s thinking capacity. The more things you do at the same time the worse your thinking power will become. And the web is full of ads, links, etc. that strive to gain your attention. It’s not the source of information on the web that makes you stupid it’s everything else thriving for you attention. Can a source of information such as Google be harmful, because of the amount of sources your brain is trying to browse through?

“Building your Online Brand”

If you want to put yourself out on the web for business purposes, having a website can be crucial. Of course putting yourself on the web may scare some people to think that they are being judged through Facebook or Twitter, which could potentially become a bad thing, but a website promoting yourself would be the first thing I would look at if I were and employer. Plus if an employer was looking for me on Facebook, they probably wouldn’t find anything because they can’t view my profile. Building a website is a great idea, if you have web presence, that automatically makes you a candidate that they (employer) would choose over someone else , that let’s say doesn’t have a website. It’s something to be taking advantage over. Would you rather have an employer google you for business reasons or not google you at all? That’s what it comes down to.

“More Employers Screening Candidates via Social Networking Sites”

If an employer bases a candidate for a job solely based on Facebook, more that 50% of the time they aren’t going to see what they want to see. So I say to employers stay out of Facebook. An employer has no business being in people’s personal lives. Work time is completely different than personal time. What I’m getting out of this is you are basically judging people on appearance, where appearance doesn’t matter, it comes down to skill, that is all work requires. The tips on that article are bull shit. I live on this planet like every other soul and can do whatever I want, why should a job limit what I do in MY personal time. I think of a job purely as a job that depends and is built on skill and people act very differently at work and in there personal lives. Why do employers have the need to look into the personal lives of people when that doesn’t matter?

“It Gets Better Project”

This is great for people who are LGBT. Videos such as this are worth promoting because they are trying to help the lesbian, gay, bi, and transexual teens in telling them that everything is ok and it gets better. Youth that are LGBT can go through some very hard times and may need someone there to comfort them. Regardless if someone is LGBT, that someone is a human being and deserves to be treated as one. And the message this organization is providing is that it’s ok for someone to be LGBT because there will always be someone who cares about them. One of the women in the video was crying because her mother said she was going to hell when she came out, and that’s not right, why is she telling her daughter that. This organization gives people like this woman the opportunity to feel as if they are something more.

“Anorexia Articles”

This article talks about so called “support groups” that are pro-anorexia. These support groups tell youth and others that it’s alright to be anorexic and they are on social networking websites. Anorexia to me is like a drug, something you keep going back to no matter how much you try to get away from it. There are those who wills overpower the drugs and drive them to get better. Well these support groups are a poor, poor excuse to keep doing drugs or in this case anorexia. These people are to weak to surpass their disease or even realize that they have a disease. There are also companies and others that want this banned. And they should be banned. It is not a support group, support groups HELP YOU not harm you, these groups may think they are helping but it’s a sick mind game. These groups supposedly have laws not to post harmful content. Well in this case define harmful content, technically these support groups are intentionally harming others. So do they consider helpful advice harmful? These groups should be banned because for one if you starve yourself you die, it’s intentional suicide. Why do groups like this exist, what is the point? Their reasoning is pathetic.

“Net Neutrality”

Net Neutrality is the only thing keeping the internet open and free. Simply put without net neutrality there is no free internet and service providers can limit virtually anything they want. If net neutrality was put in place in the 1920′s specifically to prevent corporations and politicians from taking control over the internet, those corporations and politicians shouldn’t have a right to change that. If the internet becomes limited so does the whole country, the economic with skyrocket downward. If government laws such as SOPA can’t control the internet what makes anyone else think they can. The day microsoft goes down, then maybe they have a chance, and if everyone that uses the internet doesn’t care, which good luck if that even happens. Why do corporations need to control the internet, are they trying to gain money or what, I mean they already have a shit ton of money.

Good morning loves!

It’s the first day of the work week and I bet everyone’s busy with random things. As for me, I’m going to create an entry about this person who doesn’t even know how to apologize for the things that ruined everyone’s plan, ever since he announced that the payment will be delayed. Some of you may say that I can’t seem to move on with the issue, while some of you may think that I’m doing the right thing. What you feel or think is no longer my business loves.

I’m going to talk about this guy from MyBlueChipStaff named Ken Magno. Sorry dude, I had to include your name so that other workers will be aware of how you handle certain situations. Kenneth Magno or more “popularly” known as Ken seems to be a good employer especially during the first few days of working with him. Everything went smoothly, from the interview to the hiring process.

When Ken Magno announced to his employees that the payment will be delayed, he didn’t even bother to apologize for whatever inconvenience that the client or MyBlueChipStaff did. Unfortunately, MyBlueChipStaff is not capable of paying the people that they are hiring, just in case something goes wrong with the client (which in this case, it’s MyBlueChipStaff’s fault). This can definitely be frustrating, because how can they even create a certain business without any capital at all? I guess this is stupid.

Ken Magno’s girl who is the Marketing Director of MyBlueChipStaff was the one who’s been explaining to the employees as to why everything got so messed up. She was the one who keeps on apologizing and explaining to employees whenever there is a “group chat” on Skype. This dude can’t even have the balls to explain and apologize to his employees and instead, he left all those messy jobs to his girl (who I’m not going to name). I’m sorry but how can she stand a man like you? (Oops too personal, sorry!).

Whenever the employees try to contact Ken Magno, he seems to be too busy to go online immediately. He usually keeps his employees waiting for him to go online, with nothing but bad news. If it weren’t for the employees’ eagerness to get paid, Ken Magno won’t be doing anything or won’t be updating his employees regarding the payment.

So loves if you’re planning to work in the online industry, make sure not to come across with someone like Ken Magno especially if you don’t want to experience what his previous employees experienced.

Till my next post loves!

As you all know Bitzio already sent the payment yesterday and they are requesting for the post to be removed, immediately. But I’m surprised that some of you are also requesting for the same thing.

As I have said in my last entry, I won’t be removing the post about Bitzio until you guys receive the payment. For some of you who are too eager to get the post removed, don’t you think it’s a little too early for that? Or maybe some of you are just trying to kiss Bitzio’s and MyBlueChipStaff’s asses just to make sure that you’re getting the payment. That’s not the way it should work loves. Remember they made you wait for more than 2 months, and I’m just letting them wait for 3 to 5 days for the post to be removed. I don’t think that’s too much.

Some of you are even ordering your teammates to remove the post, which is quite funny. They actually don’t have the capability to remove any of my posts here, since my identity remains and will definitely remain unknown.

Being authoritative doesn’t mean that you’re ahead of them. So stop acting like one if you don’t want your name to be dragged into this.

Okay, I’ve been SO lucky to work with some of the best people ever but there are some nightmar

Okay, I’ve been SO lucky to work with some of the best people ever but there are some nightmare employers out there and I finally had the pleasure (cough) of working with one.

The woman is crazy, period, and she wonders why she keeps going through freelancers – it’s always them of course. I wonder how many it will take for her to wonder if it’s actually HER? With her Godlike syndrome, probably never. She’s perfect in every aspect when she looks in the mirror – mirror, mirror on the wall, why are you telling the biggest tale of ALL?

Don’t be taken advantage of by any employer.

This lady wanted way too much for free. Now I’m a nice person and really easy to work with, extremely fair in my billing, etc. but I need her to get a grip! Well, it doesn’t really matter if she does because I called it quits but she’d do well to get a grip.

She really didn’t pay too well as it is, not terrible, but not to my standards but she sounded decent, had some interesting work that I wanted to get involved in and promised more money once we got a few things going. Okay, fair enough – and again, I was really interested in some of the stuff she had going and wanted to learn more so I figured it would be good experience for me.

Next thing I know it’s “can you do this real quick”, “can you do that real quick”. I did a couple of things without billing her, they were just quick few minutes things. No big deal. Um, until it started adding up. There were so many small things that those minutes started adding up to hours by the end of the week.

Plus she kept me on IM for LENGTHY amounts of time. Literally. She was online pinging me when I woke up and would be there all day and all night pinging me. And be annoyed when I wasn’t there. If I wasn’t online, she’d call me…no matter what time it was or if we had been working all day. Lady, I have a life. This is why I work at home – for flexibility. Unless you are paying me a LARGE amount of money, I am not at your beck and call day and night.

I eventually started billing her for some of this stuff.

Sorry but I can’t keep losing that much time, now you’re totally taking advantage of me and my kindness – please don’t mistake it for weakness.

She got irritated that I was billing her for things that only took a few minutes – never mind the fact there were a s&$! load of “few minute tasks” that accumulated to HOURS. Sorry but I don’t work for free.

Then she asked me to take on a higher position part-time because it needed to be filled and I was interested in it. So if it worked out, I’d take that position and we’d fill my current position with someone else. Now mind you the pay for this higher position paid more, and it should, I am not getting ‘flipping burgers pay’ for management – yeah right.

So I billed her separately. One bill for the original position at the lower hourly rate. One bill for the higher position tasks at the higher position rate. She didn’t like that, she wanted me to do it all for the original position pay.

Okay, this lady is officially crazy and I’m done!

She had told me a million stories about all of the freelancers she had gone through and at this point I know exactly why.

On top of trying to be flat out cheap but want top quality work, and someone to babysit her at ALL times, she was way too arrogant, thought she knew EVERYTHING and no one else knew anything.

The woman once told me “I don’t think you understand how email works”. Ummm, did you really just say that? My knowledge of the Internet goes WELL beyond how email works! And I’m quite sure this was evidenced in the highly commended work I did for her. But she’s just one of those people that feels superior to everyone – oh, I’m sorry, since you’re God can you answer my prayers (I’ll keep what my prayer was to myself!)

Anyways, just wanted to rant for a minute I guess LOL and say don’t ever let someone take advantage of you. If they aren’t fair and want something for nothing, it’s going to turn all bad. Your work and time is valuable and you should treat it as so even if someone else doesn’t.

After all of this happened, I went back and read reviews on her, wish I would have read them first. I’ve just never had a bad experience with an employer so live and learn. She had a ton of negative reviews – people she hadn’t paid, people saying exactly what I said, people addressing her condescending attitude, her wanting too much for free, etc.

If you can check out an employer, do so. If you read a ton of bad stuff, pass them up. That’s one of the treasures of working online, you CAN be choosy.

Remember, you work for YOURSELF. Don’t let anyone devalue you or your time. ‘We aren’t in Corporate America anymore Toto’ – you can’t work my fingers to the bone for slave pay and be a jerk too!

K

P.S. – I’ve since seen her post that same position and others a hundred times LOL, guess she still can’t keep anyone. I’ve thought about telling her why but I don’t know if I’ll bother.

I have written a short and simple Guide to Virtually Freelancing. I’m adding a few things and I’ll give you the link to it then.

I have helped a few people start their work-at-home business and they are now working full-time from home comfortably. Each of them just used the information, tips and tricks I gave them and started getting work immediately…most of them had already been trying to get this venture off the ground for a while and it just wasn’t working out for them.

They’ve all said I should write a guide on this topic so I finally decided to do so. I have the knowledge of being a successful online freelancer and also an online employer so I know both sides quite well.

This is something that maybe a few people will get right off – but for most of us, it takes a lot of trial and error, searching all over the web, research and a lot of time (that we aren’t getting paid!) to figure it out and really make it work well enough to make a comfortable living at home without worrying if we’ll be able to pay our rent.

I’ve been providing consultation on this subject for a while so why not put it all it written form so that others can do what I do?

Again, it will be short and simple…to the point. A layout of what you need to know, need to do, need not to do, pros and cons, memberships vs. not having memberships, billing tips, etc.

And I plan to add a few extras like how and where to find work in any field. The places I’ve used in the past and the places I recommend. You should basically be able to take this Guide and get started; I’m going to give you the very simple formula I used to become successful.

Feel free to contact me if you have specific information, answers or guidance you’d like too see in the Guide.

Because of all the “work at home stuffing envelopes” type scams, there is a misconception still about what type of work you can actually do from home.

The FACT is you can now do ANYTHING online, from home, that you would do at your regular job (obviously with the exception of serving food, etc!).

Employers are always hiring for everything from skilled to unskilled positions. There are tons of jobs, full-time and part-time, short-term and long-term, available every day.

Everything from data entry to typing, transcription, customer service (via phone and/or email), admin assistance (exactly what I do), writing articles, forum posting, video creation, web site management and creation, uploading images or articles to websites, posting ads, accounting and bookkeeping, paralegal, and ON AND ON. If I created an entire list, it would be pages long so to put it simply – EVERYTHING.

Literally, anything you would normally do from an office can and is being done online now. And there are employers that need people to fill these positions.

Over the past decade, tons of employers have gotten hip to the idea of hiring virtual freelancers. There are a lot of benefits for them too they’ve learned. And you now have so many people running their own business from home that they need other people who can work from home for them – attorneys, Internet Marketers, etc.

I’ve been working from home online for about a decade and I’ve never stuffed an envelope or “got paid to read ads” though there are some legit jobs for that out there too.

So don’t underestimate the fields of work out here. Anyone has some skill or ability they can apply online to work from home. Don’t think for two seconds that you don’t have what it takes to work online or that there isn’t a hundred or more jobs out there fit for you. There is, I promise.
