Next up, the necro. One of the most used heros but not much for actual human players. Also the only profession I pvp on.

When most people think of necromancers, they immediately think about the Sabway and Discord team buids. Those are obviously very good builds. I use them quite a bit. I like the balance of sabway but the spiking of discord. There is also a full 8-man discord team build. I’ve only used it once but man does it kick ass! haha

But my favourite thing about the necro isn’t being a MM (heros are better at that) or a curses/death magic necro. I love the blood magic. It’s sooo overestimated. When I first started using blood magic people would call me a noob. Saying blood magic doesn’t do any damage. But trust me. -9 health degen for about 20 seconds AND stealing about 50 health per skill, DOES do a lot of damage. AND it heals me at the exact same time. You’re constantly doing damage and getting healed at the same time. I <3 life stealing.

The build I use is quite awesome in pvp. It's not very effective against a monk of ele, and sometimes mesmers, but everything else is pretty easy. melee + ranged… throw on insideous parasite. Then you're gainging health from your attacks from the blood magic skills and their attacks. Another good skills for pvp is well of blood. It uses a body which is good when you have a MM on the opposite party (or a very annoying one on yours) but you can heal yourself and others at the same time. Well builds work well in JQ. Kill the first person on the radar and throw up a degen well. Then once the shrine is yours, put up a well of blood. So many shrines get killed by necro bombers or roj monks and die. This way, if you can get the well up in time, they wont start dying to degen cause they'll have a good amount of regen.

A lot of pvpers also use necro bombers and touchers. I've never really used either but they're both actually good builds. A lot of people call touchers noobs but they do kill pretty well.

Necros are also very good for team stuff. Spiteful spirit builds are looked for a lot when there is a tank. That is my main build for FoW. Throw on SS, reckless haste, insideous and suffering and they're attacking faster, meaning taking more damage, getting degen, and I'm gaining health. It does take up quite a bit more energy but if you have sig of lost souls and high soul reaping, you're usually pretty good. You can't spike it all at once but when things are constantly dying, you're constantly gaining energy, and good chunks if your soul reaping is high

Well I guess I'll leave necro there. Got distracted and forgot the stuff I wanted to talk about haha. My necro's name is Kats Bite if you want to see any builds.
Tomorrow: Monks

BEIJING

THE craze in online games among Chinese netizens is fuelling an increasingly lucrative real-world market for computer hackers, security firms have said.

“There is a huge underground market and major revenue comes from selling game accounts or virtual items stolen from hijacked computers,” said Mr Zhang Yumu, vice-president of Beijing Rising International Software, one of China’s largest security firms.

A report by state broadcaster CCTV said Trojan-horse attacks, which allow hackers remote access to a targeted computer system, make up a market expected to be worth 10 billion yuan (S$2 billion) this year.

The report cited a hacker saying he could get hundreds of thousands of yuan every month by hacking into computers and stealing the users’ personal information and game accounts.

So I figure I’ll go through all the different professions and talk about what I like, what I d

So I figure I’ll go through all the different professions and talk about what I like, what I don’t like, etc, what they’re good for, etc. First up… the ranger

The ranger was my first character and probably one of the best professions to learn on. It’s pretty easy. You aren’t going right out and trying to find the best combination of spells and you aren’t right up in their face getting your butt kicked. You can stand back and really get to see the skills you’re using. The pet is also a bonus haha.
There are a lot of different uses for a ranger as well.
You can run an interrupter, but you have to be pretty good at it for it to work well. I find heros are pretty good at it. Or well… better than me…
Then there is splinter barrage. If you’re doing a team thing and have a tank, splinter barrage works amazingly. I love seeing 20ish damage outputs across my screen from pressing barrage once. And my builds really only require 3 different skills. “I am the Strongest!”, Splinter Weapon, and Barrage. So you can basically use anything you want after that. Some take extra attack skills but I see no point in it. You can spam barrage when you have high expertise so you really don’t need other skills. I usually go for a health regen, a res, a pet, pain inverter, and then some random other skill. A running skill works well. Or another skill, like Ausuran Scan, that will do extra damage. I don’t usually like using that skill though because I use a longbow and that takes away the purpose of the longbow.
Another good build is a trapping build. That is what I use in UW. It works great. I’d never use one in a normal pve, non-farming, quest or mission. Too many things interrupt when they hit you and it would take 5x longer to do everything if you trap and pull stuff into the traps. But feather farming is another area I used to do with a trapper. If you don’t have the SoS build then trapping is good for a ranger. Takes a little longer but I think it’s fun seeing everything run into the traps and die horribly
So with that, SoS. SoSing is probably the new “big” thing right now. Any profession can run it. Rits do it best though… but I’ll leave this for the rit section of character selection. But if you’re going to use a profession other than rit to do SoS, I’d say go with ranger. The expertise really helps.

So what I’m doing right now with my ranger is filling the managerie. I think they need a title for that. Maybe one rank having all pets, one for having them all level 20, something like that. I know quite a few peole who are doing this. Of course when I finish it will have been pointless because I basically use my polar bear all the time when I’m not leveling. Oh well…

But yeah, I’ll leave the ranger here. If anyone wants to know any of the builds I use, my ign is Kat Quinx. My ranger is my main but only for pve, not pvp. I can use a lot of different builds but there are only a select few I really use most of the time. But I’m willing to help out with stuff!

Poker is slowly evolving – their venues, that is. What used to be played inside a poker room turned online, and what used to be online poker played in online poker rooms in online casino is now on a social networking site.
Facebook is today’s most popular.

When speaking about playing poker online people generally refer to playing at an online poker room or at online casino that offer poker as one of the gaming options. Well for a little while now poker is available to be played not online at those virtual venues but as well as the most used social network of all: Facebook.

The online social networking site has many different applications and several of them involve gaming. Poker is becoming more and more of a popular application with so many Facebook members playing the game at any given time on the web there is quite a bit of hype about the games that are offered.

There are several reasons that this is great marketing for the makers of the game. First of all, the exposure is wonderful and there are so many people telling one another about the game that it is a constant stream of new players at all times.

Secondly, once people love the Facebook version of the game it is very likely that they will attempt going to an online casino to try some online poker and play for cash making sure that the casinos earn money.

The referral system is great as well. It is sure that this game converts those that play on Facebook into real online players which is good for the players as well as those that are currently playing already.

Why is it that when you manage to get something organised to replace the thing that went wrong that the first thing sorts itself out?

Erm, I’m not sure if I got that myself. But as you may or may not be aware, the game that I GM has been in a state of hiatus for around two months, probably more. I was playing a few online games, but it’s not the same thing as running your own.

And then I somehow managed to be convinced to GM a Star Wars Dark Times-era campaign. And unlike my other campiagn, I can actually link to it and you can see for yourself how it goes. It still has not gotten off the ground yet, I have yet to wait for the opening posts. However, I will be maintaining the same level of secrecy on this blog that I do for my real time players. There is nothing that I will reveal on here that I do not want my players to know to begin with.

As for the real time players, I finally managed the impossible. I managed to find a venue for gaming as well as a time that suited everyone. And I managed to find another player, as we were down to two and I prefer four. We play Friday night and there will be pizza.

So last night, knowing I had the two definite things that I needed, I sat down with my GM’s folder, notes, maps and books and determined what I had been putting off for so long: how the campaign is going to end and how my players can have a hand in determining it.

Yes, you read right there, and I don’t have to repeat it.

I am hoping to get three sessions in before I go up to Sydney. And this time, I am going to post when I am up there as i will have a few encounters with dragons!

Security experts are warning of a new malicious spam campaign designed to harvest the login credentials of online gamers.

According to a blog posting by security vendor Sophos, the spam emails arrive with the subject line “Do you like to find a girlfriend like me?” and contain the following message:

Wish to have a boyfriend
Be able to protect me, take care of me
Intolerable lonely night and would like to have your care.
do you Willing?
This is my photos.

Attached to the emails is a “my photos.rar” containing several sexually explicit images of a young Asian woman and a couple of executables which claim to be pornographic videos, but Sophos has detected as the Trojan Troj/Agent-LVF.

“Troj/Agent-LVF is a World Of Warcraft password stealing Trojan suggesting that the people who will install this malware are sad lonely men who play WOW,” read the blog posting.

According to Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos, a surprisingly large amount of malware in the wild has been designed to steal online gaming credentials, such as registration keys and passwords.

Let’s think about the Harry Potter franchise for a moment. This cultish following of the boy who survived has been a cultural phenomenon. The movie alone this past summer grossed over 300 million in its theatrical run.

The Dark Knight was arguably Heath Ledger’s best performance ever. And the movie was badass. I mean seriously, aside from Christian Bale’s “I need a cough drop” voice, was there anything wrong with that movie? It too grossed over 400 million in its run.

But Modern Warfare 2? It’s a video game. It didn’t have the prestige or star power of the mainstream society. But guess what? It beat both of those in sales. In 5 days to boot. Insane.

To be more precise, it racked up $550 million in its first five days. Imagine what that number will be when taken past the Christmas season. Ridiculous.

And now we’re hearing that it could make over 140 million in DLC alone? The defintion of “cha-ching” should be “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”.

In an article by Industry Gamers, Analyst Ben Schachter reported his findings on COD DLC. By gathering previous numbers from other DLCs released by Activision, Schachter thinks that sales could be up towards 140 million dollars. We’re talking map packs, pictures, themes, avatar clothing, etc. That all adds up.

But more importantly, that’s where the industry should really be thinking. Extending the product is a move that many companies are making to generate more customers. Think about all those map packs for the Halo franchise. Each one costs $5, 10. Let’s do the math real quick.

550 million / $60 = over 9 million copies. Just in 5 days. That number will increase over time, especially with the holidays coming up.

If everyone bought a $10 map pack, that’s around $91 million. Companies will take notice of Activision’s success for sure. For content outside of the game, that’s a lot of money to be made in the business of DLC. So take note, extending the game is the future.

Aah, video games–the life force of our children and maybe even our husbands? The driving force behind our mom’s high-pitched voice when trying to overpower the sound of our roaring car in the racing game. But did you ever think what good can it do to you, excluding the extreme pleasure you feel when you tease those people-that-cannot-beat-you-but-shout-at-them-furiously-when-they-do?

The greatest enemy that a gamer has would be the “Mom” — yes i’m talking about your mother. She would always tell us to stop playing and go study instead; that it would fry our brains and make us dumb; that it would turn us into couch potatoes; do something productive like mow the lawn; throw the trash out; and that it is not good for our health –Any excuse that she can think of just to separate the game console from us. I know that mother knows best but I do not think “mom” knows anything about video games. Sorry mom, but you are so wrong.

Well here are some things that you should know in case this kind of thing happens to you.

Did you know that playing video games that are created these past few years can actually be beneficial to us? The best video game console for me would be Wii. This does not only enhances your flexibility, it can actually let you lose weight and stay fit while enjoying beating those nasty aliens! They have designed this game in a way that it lets you be on the game and lets you experience everything the character in the game is having. In fact, they even designed a console that would let you get out of the couch and do some *yawns* , yes… exercise! Wiifit allows you to do yoga stretching and aerobic workouts while having fun! Now that is the kind of game that I’m sure “mom” would love to have and spend time with.

Show this video to your mom:

Wii also have sports games that would entertain Dad! A great family bonding without really spending much, like you do when you actually do it outside. Although, going outside and playing sports is the best thing, this is the second best thing!

If your mom tells you to do something productive, tell her that you can earn money from playing video games. The pay differs depending on your skill as a gamer. You can have jobs as “game testers” or be a champion gamer and get the prize. Who says you can’t earn by playing games? If you are into online gaming, there are a lot of competitions that are being held all over the world as well and Korea is one of the most active host. You would even get to tour around the world for free, imagine that!

Now, if you want to be fit and rich…GO PLAY VIDEO GAMES!

For those not in the know, Crackdown was released on the 360 back in early 2007. Many people picked this game up purely to get early access to the Halo 3 beta. Of course, I was still oblivious to the Halo hype at this time I’d played the first game on PC, and enjoyed it, but wasn’t really that enthused about Halo at the time (We’ll gloss over the fact that I bought a 360 just in time for Halo 3’s release…). I picked up Crackdown for the bargain price of 20 notes at the beginning of 2008, and was certainly not disappointed.

At E3 2009, Crackdown 2 was announced, developed by Ruffian Games. I’m really looking forward to it, especially with the addition of 4 player co-op (as opposed to the original’s 2 player co-op).

Crackdown 2 is slated for release in 2010.

The cover of Left 4 Dead depicts an unhealthy-looking hand which has just agonisingly clawed its way

The cover of Left 4 Dead depicts an unhealthy-looking hand which has just agonisingly clawed its way into our view. As the thumb seems to have fallen off (making needlework difficult), it’s showing us four fingers.

There are FOUR people who have been left FOR dead, so a photographer was charged with the task of finding a cover image for the documentary. He went to the epicentre of the zombie outbreak and took a picture of said hand, cleverly illustrating FOR and FOUR and SOME KIND OF UNDESIRABLE SITUATION WHICH AFFECTS HANDS MAYBE A DISEASE OR SOMETHING YOU’LL HAVE TO LOOK AT THE BACK TO FIND OUT.

Then the bosses decided to make another documentary about people joyfully killing their friends and family just because they got swine flu maybe and Left 4 Dead 2 was announced. So the photographer was instructed to go and take an equally clever picture. He tried to convince his superiors that the title was rubbish. The conversation went like this:

PHOTOGRAPHER: The title is rubbish.

BOSS: No.

PHOTOTGRAPHER: Yes because the 4 for FOR and FOUR doesn’t work very well when you put 2 after it because 4 is polysemic and 2 isn’t.

BOSS: …

PHOTOTOGRAPHER: …

BOSS: 2 means TWO and TOO. Because these FOUR people have been left FOR dead TOO.

PHOTOTOGRAPPHER: You only just thought of that.

BOSS: No.

PHOTOTOGRRAPPHER: Well then what about a third documentary?

BOSS: It’ll be Left 4 Dead 3, like FREE. The THIRD documentary featuring FOUR people who are left FOR dead and fighting to be FREE.

PHITOGRRAGOGRAPHER: What?

BOSS: It’ll be filmed in London so you have to read the title with a Cockney accent. Now that’s polysemia, innit muppet?

PHITOGRGAGRORPHSERRAAR:You’re clearly making this up. What will you do with the Left 4 Dead 4? You already have a cover with four fingers.

BOSS: The hand will be the other way around. Left 4 Dead 8 will feature an octopus.

PHARFOITHIRXUHGIOEZQGFW: What the damn?

BOSS: Bananas.

Author: Susan T Roberts Source: ezinearticles.com If you have a computer in your home or have bought

Author: Susan T Roberts
Source: ezinearticles.com

If you have a computer in your home or have bought your children an Xbox, PlayStation or Wii, you understand, wii games
, clearly how many hours your children can spend being entertained by their games. Today’s children are more computer-savvy and technically astute, wii games
, than in any other time in history. Of course this is understandable since they have more access to, wii games
, computers than ever before.

When it comes to buying games, wii games
, and gaming equipment, the games console is generally sold as a unit with the individual video games sold separately on disk. A huge amount of competition exists between the various games console manufacturers because gaming is big business. Whenever a popular games console is due to be released it creates a buzz and a stir for months before it ever, wii games
, reaches our shelves, wii games
, . In fact, when the Wii was released in 2006 consoles were sold out in most shops the first day they hit shelves.

Online Gaming

Video games today are not what us adults remember video games to be. These days, video games can connect to the Internet so that many players can play a single game all at the same time. Children can play games against a brother or sister in their own home or they can play games and compete against players that they don’t know via the Internet. When your children play a video game on a computer or console that can connect to the Internet, they can play games against other online gamers. Not only this,, wii games
, children can communicate with those they compete with online whether through an instant messenger type, wii games
, program that sits to the side of the screen or by talking with them if they own a headset with microphone.

Today’s Most Popular Video Games:

 Xbox 360 (various versions)
Wii (various versions)
PlayStation (various versions)
PSP (various versions)
Parental Gaming Concerns

Children of all ages play video games online, wii games
, . Like any repetitive activity, children soon learn the ropes of operating a games console and of reaching, wii games
, higher,, wii games
, wii games
, levels in the games that they enjoy. It is important for parents to monitor the games that their children play on a regular basis. Some games are sexually explicit, others are filled with violence and some allow them to interact with strangers online. To prevent young children from being exposed to these problems, most video games have a parental guidance rating on their cover. This means that, wii games
, when parents are buying games for children, they can check the rating to know whether or not the game is appropriate for their children.

Handling Excessive Gaming

It is possible, wii games
, for children to become addicted to gaming. This is a real and serious issue when it does happen. If as a parent you have worries about the amount of time your children, wii games
, are spending gaming, you as a parent can take charge of the console. Perhaps you can bring it out for use for a certain, limited number of hours each day. You could also implement a points system where by doing chores your children can earn gaming time.

Kotaku recently posted news about a new Dynasty Warriors title set for release in February. This insanely addictive button mashing “strategy” game has been the focal point of my shelves for countless years.

Although repetitive, Dynasty Warriors stands out as one of the best portrayals of the Chinese Dynasty era in gaming. This will be the first version to offer online multiplayer with up to four players, new fury transformation and the ability to fly.

Each console version will be released with bonus characters from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (PS3) and Warriors Orochi 2 (Xbox 360). If you haven’t played the series yet it might be worth picking up a pre-owned version of the previous titles to see how insanely addictive this game is!
