A Computer Data Backup service is one that allows you and your company to save a back up of your dat

A Computer Data Backup service is one that allows you and your company to save a back up of your data in a secure location. Online data backup is a very simple application to use and can be accessed anywhere with the help of a computer.
There are three distinct options available for an installer of an Oracle database. Those available storage options for database files are File Systems, Oracle’s Automatic Storage Management (ASM), or Raw Devices.
Online backup services have grown in popularity recently due to their ease of use, very high security, and relatively low cost. Some services even have an option that backs up your files automatically every day or so (you can set the time frame).
Compared with other online video converting software: no need to upload video files to the server or to return the converted files to you by emails and download them locally. Since the converting process of weboof flv converter is finished completely in the local browser, the interaction with the server is reduced, and the bandwidth is saved.
Most online storage websites you check when you compare data backup providers offer different rates and plans for different amounts (normally measured in gigabytes) of information you require to back up. Several providers are capable or willing to offer unlimited online storage. While this seems useful it may or may not suit your needs.
Backup methodology has changed as well in the intervening years, and is just now reaching a critical turning point. Good backup methodology over the last decade has included the concept of safeguarding an offsite copy of the system backup at regular intervals.
Amount of data to be backed up. Industries and individuals making use of online backup services have different needs. Perhaps, it is safe to assume that individuals have lesser requirements than those of larger industries.
All you need to restore the files after that is an Internet connection. Even if your offices are out of order, all you need is a computer and Internet to access all your backed up files.
In a large enterprise, the costs of tape backup is influenced by software, hardware, staffing, support and media. Another cost is having a second location to store data tapes, and it will also need software, hardware, staffing, support and communications.
Some advanced online backup services offer what is called “geo-redundancy”. This means that your data will be stored at more than one data center location. If one data center suffers a catastrophic event, your data will be safe in another location some distance away.
Strong Backups offers a middle of the road approach for your online data storage needs. Prices for data storage begin at $10 per month with a $25 setup fee. The minimum data you can back up is 10 GB with a maximum of 50 GB. They do offer 24/7 phone customer support and real-time live chat with technicians.
It also may happen that the natural disaster strikes the city where backup data center is located? The success of any company lies in maintaining the data and working upon it for betterment. It is for this reason that remote backup should be mandatory for all the companies and personal computer users to save and secure the data to prevent future loss due to any reason.

Are you a DropBox user?

Being one myself, I always wanted to be able to stream my mp3 files from the web. That’s something I would need when I’m at work (behind a firewall) or at my friend’s house.

Moozone offers a good solution for that: Simply plugin your DropBox account. All your mp3 files will be processed and you’ll be able to stream them in any browser, view mp3 tags, build playlists and much more.

Tip: DropBox gives you 2GB for free, so does Moozone. Simply register on both, plugin your DropBox into Moozone and you will have 2+2=4GB for free.

How important is your data? Imagine walking into your office one morning to discover that your network is down due to server failure. All your data is gone, e.g. your payroll, your accounts receivable, your prospects lists, invoices, everything. Those tape backups turn out to be meaningless. The tape wasn’t installed.

Where do you turn? How do you recover? Can you afford to lose a month, a week, or even a day? Protecting your data is vital and everyone needs a backup strategy. Traditional onsite backups are time consuming and in some cases complicated. If multiple external hard drives are involved someone has to keep track of which hard drive is in use. Someone also has to make sure to switch the hard drives. If the strategy involves sending the data home with a staff member for off-site protection that person must remember to handle the storage unit with care. More importantly, they must remember to bring the unit back at the correct time in the rotation. These solutions waste valuable time; time that could be spent on revenue generating activity.

Enter the Versa R2000 Backup and Recovery System – a data backup and recovery system designed to be a stand alone system that includes 5 integral parts in managing data backup, protection, and imaging. With the R2000 you’ll get complete nightly backup of your data at blazing gigabit speeds. This enterprise level solution also provides for continuous real time data protection and easy file restoration. When ever data changes on the network it is replicated to the R2000. Point in time images of your network servers and workstations for immediate disaster recovery with bare metal restore. Recovery of an entire system is easy and fast. The R2000 Vault will backup critical data to secure off-site location, i.e. your data can be secured on the Cloud. The R2000 replicator allows a primary R2000 to replicate secondary unit off-site at a Data-Center or remote office.

Your data is critical to every aspect of your business. Gain piece of mind and access to an enterprise level data protection solution.

A while back, I contributed to my buddies at AlkaliMedia [website link] a review of Dropbox [website link] [iTunes App Store link]. This is, in my opinion, the BEST online storage I’ve seen so far. It is awesome. It’s free. And it’s available for almost every platform!

Check out the full review for more specifics [Review on AlkaliMedia Blog]!

An excerpt:

I will be the first to admit it—I drink the Apple flavored Kool-Aid. Still, there are things I just can’t seem to justify; like the cost MobileMe. There seems to be plenty of free or low-cost alternatives to cloud computing and file management. Today, I will be talking about my favorite: Dropbox.
First, here’s a little about what kind of user I am. I have two laptops: one Mac Book Air and an HP that shall remain nameless (because it sucks). I also have a Blackberry and an iPhone. I work in an IT department which has no less than 32 projects going on simultaneously, I run my own wanna-be software development company and I manage my own band. So I have a lot going on in an average day. I need to be able to reference documents, songs, or ideas from anywhere, on any platform. Dropbox accomplishes this without missing a beat (no pun intended).

Shareflow:

Посты и комментарии в Струе нельзя редактировать. Только удалять. WTF?

Unlimited Storage для фото

Multiupload,

Google tonight announced that it was drastically slashing prices while at the same time offering more storage pricing options for users of its services. Specifically, while Gmail users currently get about 7 gigabytes for free and Picasa users get about 1 gigabyte for free, both can now upgrade to 20 GB for just $5 a year. Previously, it cost $20 to get just 10 GB of additional service. source

With the introduction of Skydrive with 25 GB of online storage, the desire to store files online has grown enormously. Some of the popular online services like skydrive,Google Picasa, Google Docs, Office Live the cloud services are really getting a widespread attention among internet users. Skydrive’s 25 GB storage is more than enough for most of us. But it is not very convenient. Each time you need to go to the browser, log in and the upload files one by one using its web interface. This will be really annoying if you need to upload multiple files. To avoid that, just download Gladinet software. The starter edition which is free can be downloaded from its site www.gladinet.com.

Once installed you can create a virtual drive that can be mounted and viewed with Windows Explorer itself. You can upload files via the Explorer interface itself just like a simple copy paste. It supports a lot of services like Windows Live SkyDrive, Google Picasa, Google Docs. Go for it! Its the best way to store your files on the ‘Cloud’.

Virtual file server company Egnyte is releasing BlackBerry and Android clients for its service, lett

Virtual file server company Egnyte is releasing BlackBerry and Android clients for its service, letting users of those smartphones get to the files in their online storage from their handsets. (The service already works on Windows PCs, Macs, and iPhones.) As part of the new rollout, the company commissioned a survey of small businesses about their smartphone usage.

Many of the results are pretty much of what you’d expect from a survey conducted for a storage company that’s announcing smartphone support: 74 percent of respondents, for instance, said that “accessing and sharing file server data via their smartphone would lead to increased productivity and better business decisions.” More surprising: 48 percent of the people who took the survey said that RIM’s BlackBerry is the most innovative smartphone, vs. 29 percent who said the iPhone is.

But one tidbit intrigued me the most: A quarter of the survey respondents said that they use their smartphones more than they do their PCs for business use. I’m not sure if that sounds low or high, but as smartphones get smarter over the next few years, you gotta think that many of us will come to see them as our principal computing devices, and consider traditional PCs to be the secondary, special-purpose gadget.

In terms of hours logged with each device, my laptop is still more essential to my work (and play) than my phone. Emotionally, though, I’m at least as attached to my iPhone as I am to any full-blown computer I own. When it’s useful, it’s exceptionally useful–and I sure spend less time futzing with it than I do with any Windows or OS X machine. And it gets the opportunity to save my bacon more often than my laptop does, because I take it absolutely everywhere. (As you may or may not know, I wear my phone around my neck on a lanyard so it’s always within reach and I never lose it.)

Your take?
