Vom 2. bis 4. Dezember 2008 findet in London die Messe Online Information 2008 statt. Über 230 Austeller zeigen dort die neusten Trends der globalen Informationsindustrie. 

Der Branchen-Event deckt folgende sechs Themenbereiche ab: Online Content Resources, ePublishing, Library Management Systems, Content Management Expo, Web 2.0 Technologies und Search Solutions. 

Die Messe ist die Pflicht-Veranstaltung für alle Fach- und Führungskräfte aus den Bereichen Business Information & STM. Während der Messe finden zahlreiche Seminare statt, unter anderem auch das ”Global Business Information Forum” statt, das sich an 2 Tagen mit verschiedenen Aspekten der “business, financial and legal information” beschäftigt. 

Es hat nichts mit der Messe zu tun, dennoch möchte ich bei dieser Gelegenheit auf das FachWiki AlacraWiki und den entsprechenden Blog verweisen. Dort finden sich viele weiterführende Artikel und Beiträge zu Business Information, z.B. die umfangreichen Anbieter- und Dienstleisterverzeichnisse.

I can only attend on Thursday 4th, when I’m presenting on Third Sector 2.0, and I’m particularly looking forward to catching Francis Mezzu’s paper on recruiting and job hunting and Melanie Goody on collaborative work environments and particularly sad to be missing Jennifer Smith on information at the heart of the small business, Dion Lindsay on the semantic web and Marydee Ojala on the back roads of search.
